The third re-release of the first full-length studio album by legendary American Pop singer.
One of the great New Wave/early MTV records, "She's So Unusual" is a giddy mix of self-confidence, effervescent Pop craft, unabashed sentimentality, subversiveness, and clever humour. In short, it's a multifaceted portrait of a multifaceted talent, an artist that's far more clever than her thin, deliberately girly voice would indicate.
"She's So Unusual" peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 chart, due to the success of the album's first Single on U.S. radio and heavy airplay of its music video on MTV. In the weeks following, the album's sales remained stable thanks to the following four singles and Lauper's world tour and appearances on popular television and radio programs. Overall, the album stayed 77 weeks on the Billboard 200. It became one of the best-selling albums of 1984. At least until 1986, the album was the second best-selling album in Canada by a female artist during the decade, behind Whitney Houston's self-titled debut album, selling more than 900,000 copies. "She's So Unusual" has since sold over seven million copies in the United States, where it was certified seven times Platinum by the RIAA. The album has sold over 16 million copies worldwide.
"She's So Unusual" was voted the eleventh best album of the year in The Village Voice's annual Pazz & Jop critics' poll for 1984. The album and its Singles earned Lauper six Grammy Award nominations, including Album of the Year and ultimately winning the awards for Best Recording Package and Best New Artist. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" was nominated for Record of the Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and "Time After Time" was nominated for Song of the Year. Lauper earned ten MTV Video Music Award nominations. "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" received six nominations, including Video of the Year, and won for Best Female Video. "Time After Time" received three nominations and "She Bop" received one nomination.
"She's So Unusual" was ranked at number 494 on Rolling Stone's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" in 2003, rising to number 487 in a 2012 update of the list, then to number 184 in a 2020 update. Rolling Stone also placed "She's So Unusual" at number 41 on its 2002 list of "50 Essential Albums by Women in Rock", and the record retained the placement on a similar list published by the magazine a decade later. In 2012, Slant Magazine listed it as the 22nd Best Album of the 1980s, calling it an "absolutely peerless collection of profound Pop jewels". In 2019, the Library of Congress selected "She's So Unusual" for preservation in the National Recording Registry for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

The first re-release of the first DVD by legendary American Pop singer.
This DVD very popular with Cyndi Lauper fans, and it is well worth tracking down for casual fans too. It collects 12 of her best videos and puts them in the context of Lauper revisiting her hometown (actually Coney Island) while she discusses the importance of music in her life.
Of course, the collection starts with "Girls Just Want to Have Fun," her most popular hit. The transfer quality on this DVD is quite good, which makes all her videos shine. Twelve Deadly Cyns presents evidence that Lauper was, in fact, one of the important video auteurs of the early '80s. "She Bop" was a challenging song about onanism (and so says the DVD!) and the video was quite quirky and wonderful. Her re-recording of "Hey Now (Girls Just Want to Have Fun)" is a little too obvious, with its gay message clear in the first five seconds. Though no one has ever accused Lauper of being subtle, Twelve Deadly Cyns makes the case that there was more to her musically than people gave her credit for. Other videos include "I Drove All Night," "Money Changes Everything," and "True Colors."
In addition to all of Lauper's music videos to date, the DVD included interview footage shot in and around Coney Island. A written bio is also included as an extra.
Do yourself a favour and check out "Twelve Deadly Cyns" — this is a solid video collection with a surprisingly large number of good quality songs!

The debut full-length album by the Ukrainian Thrash/Groove Metal band.
Despite the fact that the "Game With Ghosts" is the first full-length album by this quartet, the musicians themselves is hardly a newcomers. The thing is that the founder of this project, Andrew Poliak, decided to revive the native band Euphoria, well known on extreme Death Metal scene back in the nineties. So what experience they D.Hate more than enough.
The band issued seven compositions in which Groove Metal intricately mixed with more modern Metal flow. Catchy Groove, in vein of Lamb Of God, and aggressive Metalcore straightness - that's what emphasize Ukrainian Metal band.
Strong point of this album - a perfectly balanced, catchy sound, perfectly supporting Ukrainian quartet style. Sound just excellent! And the sound and mixing on height and produce professional work experience. Already through this one, the album listen comfortably and not "scratch" the ears.
The musical component in all tracks made in the best traditions of style, so much so that you will not carp!
"Game With Ghosts" is worth seeing release. Do not ignore those who can play!!

The first re-release of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary American Hardcore Punk/Thrash Metal/Crossover band.
D.R.I.'s most successful album, which continues the Thrash Metal style of the previous album, "4 Of A Kind". "Thrash Zone" is pretty much straightforward Metal, with little of the band's Hardcore Punk roots in its unapologetically slick sound. "Thrash Zone" is an immense improvement over its immediate predecessor. Kurt Brecht's yowling vocals and forgettable lyrics are largely downplayed in favour of showing off the band's best assets: Spike Cassidy's efficient Punk Metal guitar lines and the whiplash dynamics of bassist John Menor and drummer Felix Griffin, who handle the dips into slow, thudding mosh sections and curves into triple-speed overdrive with relative ease.
The album produced the song "Beneath the Wheel", which was made as a music video and received airplay on MTV. The song was also featured in the video game "Skate 2". The album also contained the song "Abduction", which would also have a video made for it.
Hardcore's late-'80s swerve into Metal is still basically a lousy idea (one that most bands quickly abandoned after "Nevermind" hit the charts and Metal was suddenly very much out of fashion again), but "Thrash Zone" is a better than average example of the form!
