The third full-length studio album by Italian Epic Doom Metal band.
Crimson Dawn was born in 2005 and shows passion for Epic traditional Doom Metal. Their debut album was mastered by Dan Swanö at Unisound Studio, took the Heavy Metal world by storm with its heavy riffs paired with epic and sullen melodies. In 2014, the band promoted their first official release by playing in great Doom festivals like Play It Doom Festival and Malta Doom Metal Festival.
Though the band’s sound is definitely rooted in Doom, the energy and larger than life songs, that are so often associated with Power Metal, is definitely on display here.  Combine that with thick, huge riffs and tight songwriting, then what you have is a Doom album of extremely high quality and replay ability.
With the good songwriting, “Inverno” sounds pretty damn great and smooth. The pacing of the album itself is perfect, as is the running time of 46 mins or so.  Their vocalist has one of the best clean voices in the business. In essence, this is just one of those albums that is fun (that isn’t a word  associated with the often morose Doom Metal genre, but it fits here because you can press play on “Inverno”, and not have to worry about skipping a track) - just sit back and enjoy the high-class Doom Metal!
“Inverno” will entertain you from the first note to the last, and you couldn’t get enough of it.  Any fan of this style of Doom or Heavy Metal needs to add this to their “get” list immediately!  Highly recommended!!

The second full-length album by Norwegian Heavy/Thrash Metal band.
If evil is looking for a new soundtrack it might not be too far from the mark to suggest that "Sleepwalker" might be in line for adoption. The new album from Norwegian horror Thrashers Critical Solution is a glorious slab of visceral Rock ‘n’ Roll; a blood-letting drama and insatiable anthemic adventure rolled up into one seriously galvanic slab of ravenous Metal. The band impressed with their debut full-length two or so years back, but "Sleepwalker" is a whole new thrilling beast from a band exploring new plateaus of imagination and flavour rich confrontation.
Critical Solution play an interesting style of Heavy Metal that is influenced in various ways and at various levels by Thrash Metal and sometimes Speed Metal. But this album is a really interesting listen as it doesn’t really fit nicely into any category. That’s not to say that you can’t spot any clear influences, because you definitely can. It’s just that from one track to the next (and sometimes one riff to the next) the styles may shift rather starkly and the effect can be pretty startling.
The band is really good, using that European insight of Thrash/Heavy Metal without trying to sound as an 80 Metal band. But their stronger musical influence, Metallica on their classical four albums, is too clear, too evident. However, we can't deny that their efforts create something good for our ears. The vocals use very good tunes, the riffs are full of energy and melodies, and the rhythmic kitchen is really heavy and has a good technical work.
Clear and heavy sound is what the production gave to "Sleepwalker". It is truly heavy and aggressive, as their music demands, but clear enough for the melodies appear without problems. So we can say that their sound quality is pretty good.
And there are some really good guests here: Mika Lagreen from Grave on "Lt. Elliot", and Michael Denner and Hank Shermann (of course you all know Mercyful Fate and Denner/Shermann guitar duo).
As an album, this has everything – talented song writing, immense performances, a little bit of stardust from leviathans of the Metal genre and yet more of that cut-glass production quality from Andy LaRocque. The sheer potential for a band that’s putting out this level of quality on their second album is mind-blowing. It works as a concept album in a way that reminds of hearing "Operation: Mindcrime" for the first. Yes, it’s really that good. Given that the band have gone all out to create an atmosphere of fear and dread, the result shouldn’t be quite this inviting. Maybe it’s all a trap and we’ve been suckered in… Critical Solution own your souls now!!

First European re-release on CD of the fourth full-length album by the legendary American Speed/Thrash/Crossover/Hardcore band.
Here we got New York’s legendary Underground Hardcore-Crossover Thrashers with the reissue of their “Near Death Experience”, originally released way back in 1993. Jon "Bloodclot" and company continue to play fast and scream with a Hardcore voice. The Cro-Mags used to be the line between the genres of Hardcore and Metal... and here they are simply Metal with a Hardcore attitude and voice.
What most amazed about this album was that the album starts in a predictable manner of really fast paced Punkish Thrash songs, but gets into a rhythmic sound in the latter half, which actually is more impressive than the former part. Titles like “Say Goodbye to Mother Earth” and “War on the Streets” should give an idea of what the lads are working on lyrically here. The vocals are the regular thick screaming Thrash Metal vocal style that just works fine for the band. “Kali-Yuga” is again fast paced, but has some really innovative and sick guitar work ever done in this sub-genre of Metal. The album gets into anthemic mode with ““War on the Streets” as the backing vocals take center stage amid the punkish riffs. “Death in the Womb” is more faster and chaotic song. For some weird reason “Time I Am” reminds of Skid Row, nevertheless it’s a really cool Punk driven song. The album does get better with time, not just song by song, but even as a whole, especially the title track “Near Death Experiences” really nails it with it raw sound. The hair lifting riffs hold your nerves with the album ending “The Other Side of Madness”, as the band strikes a chord between melody and heaviness with this epic song.
This album is a pure gem for Crossover or Thrash Metal fans. You don’t even need to be a real Punk fan to dig this. For anybody trying to understand ‘80s American Hardcore movement, this is a pilgrimage trip they have to travel!

Crown Of Thorns had to wait a long time to unleash themselves on the unsuspecting public, but having finally done so, everyone agrees it was worth the wait. Formed at the dawn of the 90's Crown Of Thorns quickly became the subject of a fierce major label bidding war. Interscope emerged as the winner, reportedly paying them a cool million dollars for the honor! Crown Of Thorns debut album "21 Thorns" (1994) enlisted the help of Paul Stanley (Kiss), Jim Vallance (Bryan Adams/Aerosmith) and Beau Hill (Europe/Winger). "Faith" is an album that brings back the sound as defined in the debut album still keeping intact all the elements of infectious guitar riffs, soaring hook lines and great melodies. This time collaborated with Bob Clearmountain (Bryan Adams, Rolling Stones, Bon Jovi) in the recording sessions and the result is probably the best sounding Crown Of Thorns album ever!

The second full-length studio album by American Power/Thrash Metal band.
Formed in 2005 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania it took the band only a year to release the stunning debut “Reverence Dies Within”, that was recorded, produced, released and promoted completely by the musicians on their own. Filled with songs which are a great mix between Thrash and Power Metal the band did not only get great reviews, but also label-offers. As a result, Crown The Lost got signed to Cruz Del Sur-Music and the follow up was released in 2009. This one, “Blind Failth Loyalty”, got great reviews all over the world again, but due to line-up problems, the band didn't really get the chance to promote the album.
Melody and Thrash are two words that usually have no business being uttered together in the same breath. But Melodic Thrash Metal is indeed a fitting description for this Pittsburgh-based band. The "melody" can be specifically pinpointed to the band's singer, Chris Renaldi (whose Bruce Dickinson-like vocals prove that he must have studied his Iron Maiden records thoroughly), while the "Thrash" is provided by his riff-happy bandmates. And this is certainly showcased on such ditties as "Defame the Hypocrites" and the title track. Despite the fact that none of the bandmembers were born before the year "The Number Of The Beast" was released, Crown The Lost's style and approach certainly would have fit nicely in the Thrash and Heavy happy '80s!!

The third and the final full-length studio album by American Power/Thrash Metal band.
Originally available strictly on digital platforms in 2011, "Cold Pestilent Hope" finally getting the CD release. Crown The Lost hit the studio in the first half of 2010 and recorded “Cold Pestilent Hope”, their by far best album. Recorded at Soundscape Studios in the band’s hometown of Pittsburgh, PA with producer Dave Watson (Argus, Mantic Ritual, Hero Destroyed), "Cold Pestilent Hope" found Crown The Lost further exploiting its Melodic Thrash Metal template, and is the logical extension from the band’s sophomore "Blind Faith Loyalty" album. Songs like “Breathe into Emptiness”, “In Defiance of Sanctity” and “Forgotten and Damned” bear the mark of Mallah’s versatile clean vocals, meshing seamlessly with the band’s knifing rhythms and melodic leads.
Unfortunately, Crown The Lost disbanded after the recording and didn't manage to release the whole album through a label as a farewell to their fans until the end of April 2016, when “Cold Pestilent Hope” was released the first time on CD by German Ragnarök Records!

The seventh full-length studio album by Irish Celtic Folk/Black Metal band.
Band’s most powerful offering to date, and quite possible Cruachan’s strongest album in their already quite lengthy career!
Cruachan has created a record that fits in perfectly with what you would expect from such a release: it has an epic build-up of lyrics and guitar solos, yet created around a very easy-listenable and catchy frame, which goes for all of the many impressively played instruments. It is this organic feel and authentic package with the lyrics going hand in hand with the music, which sets the band apart from most of their peers and the conviction is palpable.
"Blood For The Blood God" is the second part of the ‘blood’ trilogy begun with 2011’s "Blood On The Black Robe" (a record, which saw the band return to their Black Metal roots), that contains several stories and myths pertaining to Celtic history, delivered in a classical Folk Metal fashion (which includes several Folk instruments; in this case an Irish bagpipe, flutes, whistles and violins).
Without a doubt one of the best Folk Metal albums of 2014, and it is good to see the band still going strong and pushing their envelope after all these years!
Gatefold double vinyl release includes bonus disc, which features:
- re-recording of a song with the same title from the “Pagan” album 2004 (Track 1);
- demo versions of songs from the “Blood For The Blood God” album (Tracks 2, 3, 4, with track 3 and 4 presented here under their working title);
- songs from the “I Am Warrior” demo (Tracks 5, 6, 7 - all three were re-recorded and used on the 2011 “Blood On The Black Robe” album).
