Some lyrics written in the traditional Thrash style, while some are written in a more poetic Gothic way that takes the listener through a world of vampire legends, vampirism, romance, resurrections, and afterlife.

With their third album, Night In Gales are now charging towards spearheading the international Thrash and Death Metal scene.
In topping all the previous releases from the 5 metalheads, "Nailwork" has achieved that which seemed almost impossible. Even if the guys had been too Gothenburg orientated in the past and "Thunderbeast" was sprinkled with Rock ‘n’ Roll, "Nailwork" is not merely the frequently termed ‘logical development’. This album shines as an absolutely independent release, so whoever still insists that Night In Gales still limit themselves to the confines of Melodic Death Metal is either ignorant or deaf.
Night In Gales anno 2000 stand for a brutal sound whose strength and uncompromising aggression will be very hard to beat. "Nailwork" is raw, heavy and powerful – similar to the live sound of the 5 Ruhrpott Thrasher. Responsible for the sound is no other than the producer legend Harris Johns, who was the master at the controls for bands like Kreator, Sodom and Voivod in the 80s.
That the band have been working hard is clearly defined by the excellent performance of their shouter, Björn, who presents himself here as singer for the first time. Alongside the obligatory screams and growls, to which his style was limited in the past, you will find Modern Metal parts plus Doom and even ballad vocals. But as if that were not enough Dew Scented frontman, Leif Jensen, and the original Night In Gales singer, Christian Müller, were also recruited as guest shouters, the latter of which should certainly give "Sylphlike" fans goosebumps.
Responsible for more goosebumps will be the cover version of "Black Velvet" by Blues Rock queen Alannah Myles, which has been transformed into a raging inferno crushing everything that stands in its way.

The tenth full-length studio album by cult Greek Melodic Black/Death/Doom Metal band.

The debut full-length studio album by Spanish Power/Heavy Metal band.
This new Spanish band makes an excellent mixture of Heavy and Power Metal with a bit of Thrash Metal.
Back then, the band played Hard Rock and Heavy Metal classics and were inspired by bands such Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween and Gamma Ray. These influences from Hard Rock as well as Heavy and Power Metal we hear on the album, with some Thrash Metal hints added, make Nightfear have an own sound by giving a spin to these old genres. The result is full of energy. Just listen to the fast "Gates Of Fire", the maybe even faster "Pride" or the powerful "Storm Watcher". The Nightfear's drummer is also in Avulsed line-up for a last year, so we might get a hint of where these high speeds come from. But also, the riffs, the bass and the vocals fit in perfectly. All this make "Inception" a really recommended record!

The third European re-release of the sixth full-length studio album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.
It was released on 26 September 2007 by Spinefarm Records in Finland, 28 September by Nuclear Blast in Europe and 2 October 2007 by Roadrunner Records in the US. It is the first album without original vocalist Tarja Turunen, who was dismissed in 2005, as well as the first album involving future member Troy Donockley on uilleann pipes and tin whistle. It is the first of only two albums with vocalist Anette Olzon, who was eventually dismissed in 2012 after the release of the band's subsequent album, "Imaginaerum". Tuomas Holopainen has referred to this album as the "album that saved his life".
The song "Eva" was leaked on the Internet six days before its official release, prompting the band to release it earlier as a promotional Single, to boost downloads. Several other versions of the song were posted on YouTube and torrent sites a month later; the entire album with record label voice-overs had been leaked on the Internet by 2 August. The full album (without voice-overs) was leaked on 21 September, as a result of several stores in Mexico selling the retail album much prior to the worldwide release date.
On 22 September 2007, the band hosted a secret concert at Rock Café in Tallinn, Estonia, disguising itself as a Nightwish cover band called Nachtwasser. Their first official concert with the new singer was in Tel Aviv, Israel on 6 October 2007. The Dark Passion Play Tour thus started, visiting the United States, Canada, most of Europe, Asia, and Australia. In 2008, the band played over 100 shows, with dates in Oceania, Europe and Asia. In November, the band played in South America, and before this leg they took a three-month break; Nightwish began the third leg in 2009, with dates in North America and Europe, and also playing in several summer Metal festivals, including Graspop Metal Meeting and Masters of Rock. The last show was played in Helsinki, Finland, in front of 10,000 fans.
Pre-orders for "Dark Passion Play" had it certified Gold in Finland before it had even been released. The album debuted at number one in 6 European countries, selling over 100 000 copies in Finland (triple Platinum). In February 2008, the album was certified quadruple-Platinum in Finland, after having sold over 130 000 copies, and placing 26th on the list of best-selling Finnish albums ever released. Worldwide, it has sold over 700 000 copies by the end of 2007 and about 2 million copies to date. It has been certified as Platinum in Germany and Hungary, and Gold in Austria, Poland, Sweden and Switzerland; "Dark Passion Play" is also the most successful Nightwish album in UK and USA, with sales in the United States of over 134 000 copies.
The instrumental version of "Whoever Brings the Night" is used in the 2011 puzzle-platform game, "LittleBigPlanet 2". In November 2014, the NHL hockey team Minnesota Wild featured the album's first track "The Poet and the Pendulum" in their season trailer. In 2016, an article by Teamrock considers "Dark Passion Play" as one of the "best albums of this century", ranking it at number 60 on their countdown of the "21st century's greatest albums".

The second live album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band.
Recorded live at the Hartwall Arena in Helsinki, Finland, on 21 October 2005, it's the final concert of a long worldwide tour for their album "Once", and the last with former vocalist Tarja Turunen.
There's an element of Zen that's involved when listening to Nightwish - you don't question the pageantry or analyse the music; you just let go and enjoy the experience. Perhaps it's no surprise then that "End Of An Era" beings with "Red Warrior" from The Last Samurai booming over arena speakers while thousands of fans roar their approval. It's a dramatic introduction for a band that specializes in theatrics, all of which are captured on the album. There's the crowd, the blast of pyrotechnics, the echo of the music filling a cavernous arena.
Recording a band this layered (guitars, drums, vocals, keyboards, backing tracks) in a setting like this is always a risky venture, but the sound quality on "End Of An Era" is exceptional; it manages to capture the vastness of both the venue and the act, without being marred by reverberation or uneven tone. Vocalists Tarja Turunen and Marco Hietala soar above it all, their delivery all the more impressive considering that this would be their last concert together - Turunen was dismissed from the band after the show, by a letter. Fortunately, Nightwish don't appear to have brought their internal tensions on-stage. The band is in its element here, and its energy doesn't diminish a bit over the course of the whole concert.
The biggest strength of "End Of An Era" is its ability to re-create the concert experience; the band is at the forefront, but the cheering, clapping, and chanting of the crowd are included as an integral element of the music, not a separate entity.
During the concert, the band was joined on-stage by John Two-Hawks, who performed "Stone People" from his album, "Honor", as an introduction to "Creek Mary's Blood", which featured his voice and cedar flutes. In addition to original Nightwish songs, three significant covers appear: their known cover of Gary Moore's "Over the Hills and Far Away", Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera", and a cover of Pink Floyd's "High Hopes".
"End Of An Era" is a satisfying ending for a Symphonic Metal extravaganza, but the real pleasure comes in knowing that it can be experienced all over again.

First re-release of the eighth full-length studio album by legendary Finnish Symphonic Metal band.
Unlike its predecessor, "Imaginaerum", which has themes of imagination and fantasy, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" addresses science and reason. Focusing on the evolutionary theories of Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins, the latter part of the album cites passages from their books. Both authors influenced album tracks; 'The Ancestor's Tale' inspired "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", and by 'The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution' inspired "The Greatest Show on Earth". The album is the band's first featuring singer Floor Jansen (After Forever, Revamp) who joined the group on the road in 2012 after the mid-tour departure of Anette Olzen. Also it's the first album with Troy Donockley as a full-time member. It was recorded without drummer Jukka Nevalainen, who took a break from the band due to severe insomnia. Drumming was by Kai Hahto (Wintersun, Swallow The Sun, Dreams Of Eternity). The album includes only five Nightwish members, despite its being their first album release as a sextet.
Nightwish has endured numerous lineup changes throughout its nearly 20-year career, but the band's sound has remained remarkably consistent, due in large part to the stabilizing presence of project founder and chief songwriter Tuomas Holopainen, whose overall vision for the band remains unchanged. 
"Endless Forms Most Beautiful" is probably the most accomplished Nightwish album so far. It's succeeds despite its strict adherence to the Nightwish formula. It's a well-oiled machine firing on all cylinders, both expansive and familiar, and it's arguably the band's most immediate-sounding record in years!

Unlike its predecessor, "Imaginaerum", which has themes of imagination and fantasy, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful" addresses science and reason. Focusing on the evolutionary theories of Charles Darwin and Richard Dawkins, the latter part of the album cites passages from their books. Both authors influenced album tracks; 'The Ancestor's Tale' inspired "Endless Forms Most Beautiful", and by 'The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution' inspired "The Greatest Show on Earth". The band managed to do something different and still stay true to a lot of the elements that define them, and the album really gives a more natural, organic, almost humble approach. It’s still properly bombastic at times, but it seems like after they sealed their name as gods of Symphonic Metal, they wanted to go back to just being human. It’s fresh and beautiful, calming at times, and it somehow just sounds healthy. Unfortunately underrated in the community, the album full of varied and entertaining songs and great musical performances from a band that has changed but evolved positively over the years. After Tarja, this is a great discovery. This album is, at last, the best since Tarja's departure. Good for Tuomas. Great album. Following the departure of original drummer Jukka Nevalainen the previous year, this is the first album to feature Kai Hahto as an official band member, although he had already acted as Nevalainen's replacement on the band's previous album, "Endless Forms Most Beautiful".
The album became the band's seventh consecutive album to top the Official Finnish Albums Chart.
Definitely recommended for anyone who likes Epic and heavy bombast with cheese on top, for everyone who gave up on post-Tarja-Nightwish and for everyone who does not care for Trve Metäl credibility when it comes to melody!
