NO MAN EYES “Cosmogony” /CD/

The second full-length studio album by Italian Progressive Heavy/Power Metal band.
This is Power Metal with actual riffs, as opposed to a lot of the riff-anaemic stuff that passes for European Power Metal these days!
It's not the squeaky-clean, hyper-polished Power Metal that you might be expecting. It's also not some super-Progressive, experimental stuff, it isn't. They do have some parts that give off that erratic Proggy vibe, but that doesn't dominate the album at all. The riffs stay nicely diatonic for the most part, and most of the songs follow standard approaches to composition. It's just that the arrangement and the execution both employ an uncommon level of creativity and experimentation, and the band aren't following any cookie-cutter formula for making their songs.out.
No Man Eyes have brought forth a very decent Heavy Metal album, made to perfectly fit into what the genre has become today.
For fans of Judas Priest, Nevermore, Rhapsody, and Blind Guardian.
