"Appetite For Destruction" was a turning point for Hard Rock in the late '80s - it was a dirty, dangerous, and mean record in a time when Heavy Metal meant nothing but a good time. On the surface, Guns N' Roses may appear to celebrate the same things as their peers - namely, sex, liquor, drugs, and Rock & Roll - but there is a nasty edge to their songs, since Axl Rose doesn't see much fun in the urban sprawl of L.A. and its parade of Heavy Metal thugs, cheap women, booze, and crime. The music is as nasty as the lyrics, wallowing in a Bluesy, Metallic Hard Rock borrowed from Aerosmith, AC/DC, and countless faceless Hard Rock bands of the early '80s. It's a primal, Sleazy sound that adds grit to already grim tales. It also makes Rose's misogyny, fear, and anger hard to dismiss as merely an artistic statement; this is music that sounds lived-in. And that's exactly why "Appetite For Destruction" is such a powerful record - not only does Rose have fears, but he also is vulnerable, particularly on the power ballad "Sweet Child O' Mine". He also has a talent for conveying the fears and horrors of the decaying inner city, whether it's on the charging "Welcome to the Jungle", the heroin ode "Mr. Brownstone", or "Paradise City", which simply wants out. But as good as Rose's lyrics and screeching vocals are, they wouldn't be nearly as effective without the twin-guitar interplay of Slash and Izzy Stradlin, who spit out riffs and solos better than any band since the Rolling Stones, and that's what makes "Appetite For Destruction" the best Metal record of the late '80s!!
Album was well received by critics and topped the Billboard 200 chart. By September 2008, it has been certified 18× Platinum by the RIAA, making it the best-selling record released on Geffen and best-selling American debut. The album has sold 30 million copies worldwide.

Remastered re-release of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary American Hard Rock/Blues/Glam Metal band.
It was the second of two albums released in conjunction with the Use Your Illusion Tour, the other being "Use Your Illusion I". The two are thus sometimes considered a double album - in fact both were double albums consisting of 2 vinyl records each. This was the last Guns N' Roses album to feature rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin. It also included the last Guns N' Roses song to feature drummer Steven Adler (Civil War).
The essence of Hard Rock-mixed Blues (matching the color of the cover) is amazing and more refined than the previous albums and some ballads that have always been a part of G N' R. Axl's awesome voice in his prime lets you know what this is about, the solos by Slash have their unique signature that give G N' R its soul, Izzy contributes with his songwriting - and backing up Slash, Duff brings deepness to the music. Matt fits perfectly in his debut.
The production is flawless - you can hear every instrument clearly and with the exact volume to appreciate the entire performance.
On the other hand, they may have just taken what Led Zeppelin did 20 years before to another level. Many of the songs have the same basis, and it feels like the piano is the same in every song.
"Use Your Illusion II" is more serious and ambitious than "Use Your Illusion I", but it's also considerably more pretentious. Featuring no less than four songs that run over six minutes, "Use Your Illusion II" is Heavy on epics, whether it's the charging Funk Metal of "Locomotive", the antiwar "Civil War" or the multipart "Estranged." As if an attempt to balance the grandiose epics, the record is loaded with an extraordinary amount of filler. "14 Years" may have a lean, Stonesy rhythm and Duff McKagan's Johnny Thunders homage, "So Fine," may be entertaining, but there's no forgiving the ridiculous "Get in the Ring," where Axl Rose threatens Rock journalists by name because they gave him bad reviews; the misinterpretation of Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"; another version of "Don't Cry"; and the bizarre closer, "My World", which probably captures Rose's instability as effectively as the tortured poetry of his epics. That said, there are numerous strengths to "Use Your Illusion II"; a couple of songs have a nervy energy, and for all their pretensions, the overblown epics are effective, though strangely enough, they reveal notorious homophobe Rose's aspirations of being a cross between Elton John and Freddie Mercury. But the pompous production and poor pacing make the album tiring for anyone who isn't a dedicated listener.
Bolstered by the lead single "You Could Be Mine", "Use Your Illusion II" was the slightly more popular of the two albums,, selling 770000 copies in its first week and debuting at No. 1 on the U.S. charts. Each of the "Use Your Illusion" albums has been certified 7× Platinum by the RIAA. It was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1992. It was also No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart for a single week. The album has recently received critical acclaim again in 2011, being featured on Triple M Radio's Life-Changing Album series in Australia, with the station playing numerous tracks with commentary.
The album as a whole is truly great. This is perfect as a beginning into the world of Metal as an entrance to heavier stuff!

Conceivably, the two aspirations could have been divided between the two records, but instead they are just thrown into the blender - it's just a coincidence that "Use Your Illusion I" is a Harder-Rocking record than "Use Your Illusion II". Stradlin has a stronger presence on "Use Your Illusion I", contributing three of the best songs, "Dust n' Bones", "You Ain't the First" and "Double Talkin' Jive", which help keep the album in Stonesy Aerosmith territory. On the whole, the album is stronger than "Use Your Illusion II", even though there's a fair amount of filler, including a dippy psychedelic collaboration with Alice Cooper and a song that takes its title from the Osmonds' biggest hit. But it also has two ambitious set pieces, "November Rain" and "Coma", which find Rose fulfilling his ambitions, as well as the ferocious, Metallic "Perfect Crime" and the original version of the power ballad "Don't Cry." Still, it can be a chore to find the highlights on the record amid the overblown production and endless amounts of filler.

The first re-release of the debut full-length studio album by British Heavy Metal band, side project of Rob Halford, vocalist of legendary Judas Priest.
Former Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford finally re-embraced his roots, formed a band simply called Halford, and recorded a tremendous album of pure Heavy Metal!
His three early-90s Fight releases were Metallic, unlike 1998s disastrous Two album, "Voyeurs", which was executive produced by Trent Reznor. Add to the musical shift Halford's new makeup-heavy image, and public admission of his homosexuality and longtime fans were surprised, to say the least.
Now, Halford brought out the leather and motorcycle and recruited guitarists Patrick Lachman and Mike Chlasciak, bassist Ray Riendeau, and drummer Bobby Jarzombek to start over. The presence of this new band and producer Roy Z obviously inspired Halford because "Resurrection" is a triumphant return to form. It's the real thing, none of that Rap-Metal, Alternative-Metal hybrid stuff. Halford stretches his voice out by utilizing everything from piercing falsetto wails to sinister, throaty rumbles. 
The album includes "The One You Love to Hate" song, featuring Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. "Silent Screams" is a re-recorded song that was originally written by Halford's previous band, Two.
In September 2003, "Resurrection" was ranked number 54 on a list of "The Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums" by online magazine Metal-Rules.com. In 2005, "Resurrection" was ranked number 320 in Rock Hard Magazine's book "The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time".

Formerly known as Hanover Fist, Hanover is the brainchild of Frank Zirone and the first band in discography of legendary drummer Mike Terrána (Axel Rudi Pell, Haggard, Tony MacAlpine, Yngwie Malmsteen, Masterplan, Metalium, Rage, Squealer, Tarja Turunen, Theodore Ziras and more).

Headhunter was founded in 1989 under the name Curse, after Schmier was fired from Destruction. They recorded a 6-song demo in 1989/90, all the tracks of which later being re-recorded for the "Parody Of Life" debut album. Headhunter released three albums and toured Germany and Japan before splitting up in the mid-90s. Years later, they reformed and released another album in 2008.

The eighth full-length studio album by legendary American Melodic Hard Rock/Glam Metal band.
The album continued the band's transition into Mainstream Rock, a genre that yielded the band its greatest commercial success. Marking the band's Capitol Records debut, it became Heart's only album to top the US Billboard 200 to date. The album was eventually certified quintuple Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (in contrast to Heart's previous two releases, "Private Audition" and "Passionworks", which remain uncertified, proving that adopting a Glam Metal direction helped resurrect the band.
The album yielded the band's first number-one Single, "These Dreams", along with four other singles: "What About Love", "Never", "Nothin' at All", and "If Looks Could Kill", with the first four Singles reaching the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. In a 2022 interview, Ann Wilson stated that the album was self-titled because the band "didn’t write a whole lot of the songs on there, so that aspect of closeness with the work was gone, and it was much harder for us to come up with a title that was real".

The second full-length studio album by legendary American Hard Rock/Blues band.
It was originally released on April 19, 1977, by Mushroom Records in unfinished form, without the band's permission. A second authorized version of the album was released on April 22, 1978.
Since the label could no longer provide Flicker as producer as the contract specified, the band took the position that they were free to move to another label and signed with Portrait Records. The change in labels resulted in a prolonged legal battle with Mushroom's creative director Shelly Siegel. Mushroom, which still had a two-album contract, claimed they had the legal right to release a second Heart album after all. Still in possession of the five unfinished studio recordings, as well as unreleased live tracks recorded in 1975, Mushroom had them remixed by the band's recording engineer, but without the presence of any group members. The label added another studio track, "Here Song" (the B-side to "How Deep It Goes", Heart's first Canadian Single from 1975). The rest of the album was filled by two live songs recorded in 1975 at The Aquarius Tavern, a rock club in Seattle where the group had played regularly. Mushroom released the collection as "Magazine" in the spring of 1977, at the same time that the ban was preparing their next album for Portrait Records, titled "Little Queen".
According to Flicker, about 50 000 copies of the original "Magazine" album were pressed. Some of these copies were sold in stores, mostly in Los Angeles and Hollywood, Florida, where the records were manufactured. Unsold copies were quickly recalled and later destroyed when Heart took Mushroom Records to court to stop distribution of the album. The 1977 version was also briefly released in Europe through Arista Records, but were ordered off shelves by a second court action.
Though the album was not officially released to radio stations in 1977, some stations such as KISW, a Seattle-based rock station, played songs from the unauthorized version, against the wishes of the group. The 1977 release carried a disclaimer on the back cover that read: "Mushroom Records regrets that a contractual dispute has made it necessary to complete this record without the cooperation or endorsement of the group Heart, who have expressly disclaimed artistic involvement in completing this record. We did not feel that a contractual dispute should prevent the public from hearing and enjoying these incredible tunes and recordings".
The court eventually decided that the band could sign with Portrait, but that they did owe Mushroom a second album. The band returned to the studio to re-record, remix, edit, and re-sequence the recordings. "Magazine" was re-released in 1978 and sold a million copies in less than a month.
Shelly Siegel, the promoter behind the "First Time" ad and vice president of the record label, died a few months after the re-release, and Mushroom Records went bankrupt two years later. Ownership rights to Heart's two albums for Mushroom were purchased by Capitol Records, which reissued the recordings. The episode had at least one more repercussion. Not long after the ad appeared, a radio promoter asked Ann about her lover; he was referring to Nancy, thus implying that the sisters were incestuous lesbian lovers. The encounter infuriated Ann, who went back to her hotel and wrote the words to what became one of Heart's signature songs, "Barracuda".
The album has been certified Platinum in both the United States and Canada.

The seventh full-length studio album by German Pagan Black Metal band.
Heimdalls Wacht is a quintet, one that recently partially re-invented itself when they added a new drummer and an additional vocalist to their already very experienced line-up. And, in order to celebrate this event, the band wrote, performed and produced their latest full-length album, which bears the title "Geisterseher" (roughly translated into ‘a person who can see ghosts’).
Heimdalls Wacht’s music comes in a most distinctive and expressive blend: on the basis of Raw and at the same time melancholic and Melodic Black Metal, a number of stylistic influences have entered the sound throughout the years, from Folk and Doom, via Progressive and melodic classic Metal, through Thrash and Death Metal.
The fact that the group features two vocalists which has made the Heimdalls Wacht style so exceptionally variable, hardly equalled within the confines of the genre, and which underscores the overall musical vibrancy. Coming complete with the power of a twin guitar duo next to the pounding drum-and-bass rhythm machine, the band’s live sound is testimony to the sheer energy of the extreme.
The "Geisterseher" shows Heimdalls Wacht in a for the band never seen professional sound created in the worldwide appreciated Stage One studio of Andy Classen (Krisiun, Asphyx, Belphegor etc.). Apart from this, the professional modern standard doesn't conflict with the true oldschool underground attitude of the band.
“Geisterseher” is a great release from Heimdalls Wacht - they’ve created an entertaining and interesting take on Black Metal. This is a well-thought-out album which nonetheless sounds natural and not at all like the band is trying too hard. And while Heimdalls Wacht does have a strong emphasis on the lyrics, the strong ambience they build up through their music is more than adequate to draw you in, whether you understand what is being said or not!
