The third full-length studio album by legendary American Hard Rock/Soft Metal band.
Despite the moderate success of "7800° Fahrenheit", Bon Jovi weren't becoming the superstars they had hoped, and they changed their approach for their next album, going for a more mainstream sound than their heavier first two records. "Slippery When Wet" wasn't just a breakthrough album for Bon Jovi; it was a breakthrough for Hair Metal in general, marking the point where the genre officially entered the mainstream. Released in 1986, it presented a streamlined combination of Pop, Hard Rock and Metal, that appealed to everyone - especially girls, whom traditional Heavy Metal often ignored.
Hiring professional songwriter Desmond Child as a collaborator, the band wrote 30 songs and auditioned them for local New Jersey and New York teenagers, basing the album's running order on their opinions. Much of the album's content was written by Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora, except "You Give Love A Bad Name", "Livin' on a Prayer", "Without Love" and "I'd Die For You", which were co-written by Desmond Child.
The album went through various name changes during its inception. The main working title was "Wanted Dead Or Alive"; later the band decided to name the album "Slippery When Wet" after visiting The Number 5 Orange Stripclub in Vancouver. "Slippery When Wet" was an instant commercial success. The album features songs that are today considered Bon Jovi's most well-known tracks, such as "You Give Love a Bad Name", "Livin' on a Prayer" and "Wanted Dead or Alive".
Between 1986 and 1987, "Slippery When Wet" produced an amazing string of hit singles, including three Top 10 Billboard Hot 100 hits, two of which ("You Give Love A Bad Name" and "Livin' On A Prayer") reached No. 1, making Bon Jovi the first Hard Rock band to ever have two consecutive No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 chart hits. The third single "Wanted Dead or Alive" peaked at No. 7, making "Slippery When Wet" the first Hard Rock album to spawn three Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hits.
The album spent eight weeks at #1 on the Billboard album chart. It also had impressive staying power, with 38 weeks inside the Top 5 of Billboard 200, including 8 weeks at No. 1. "Slippery When Wet" was the best-selling album of 1987 in the United States, and eventually reached Diamond certification by the RIAA and current sales stand at 12 million copies, making it the 48th best-selling album in the United States. In the UK, "Slippery When Wet" received a 3x Platinum certification by the BPI. The album also achieved Diamond status in Canada and 6x Platinum status in Australia. It was ranked 44th in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's list of the Definitive 200 albums of all time. As of 2014, "Slippery When Wet" is the band's best-selling album to date, with an RIAA certification of twelve times Platinum, and reportedly over 25 million copies sold worldwide. The album is featured in the book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

Soon after the first release, Bonfire went through some line-up changes but nevertheless hit the studios with famous producer Michael Wagener to record the album, which up to today is regarded as one true classic in Hard Rock history - “Fireworks”.
“Fireworks” marked the international breakthrough for the band, in Germany alone sold more than 100.000 copies and took Bonfire into the national charts for more than 30 weeks. A huge tour with Judas Priest followed soon after.

The third full-length studio album by legendary German Melodic Hard Rock/Glam Metal band.
One of the Melodic Hard Rock scenes most talented and yet underrated bands, with their energetic anthems, fist pumping rockers, and high-class Power ballads. It's a shame that not many people know about this band.
Released in 1988, "Point Blank" was the follow-up to Bonfire's breakthrough album "Fire Works" and it surpassed all expectations. The sound here is not typical 80's Hard Rock but that is an obvious influence. The best comparison would be "Jump The Gun" era Pretty Maids.
The music begins with "Bang Down the Door" and "Waste No Time", two semi-fast paced full on Hard Rock songs with infectious melodies and just exploding with energy. "Hard On Me" has some nice keyboards in the intro as well and slows down just a bit to a more mid-tempo level. After this comes the first ballad, "Why is it Never Enough". An almost epic track (for an 80's Melodic Hard Rock band) comes next. "Tony's Roulette" has a guitar melody line that is very recognizable and a gang shouted chorus that makes this a sleeper hit amongst other Bonfire fans. A rather odd interlude track is next, and then after that comes one of the best songs, "You're Back". With a beautiful intro riff, this song shows everyone the blueprint to Hard Rock perfection, pounding drums, melodies out the ass, and a chorus that borders on godliness it simply cannot be beat. "Look of Love" and "The Price of Loving You" are some nice slow songs, not ballads but slow driving love songs like only Bonfire can do... an excellent songs in an excellent album...
During the recording sessions of this album, Hans Ziller was fired from the band, but the album features ten songs written by him as well as three that feature him playing. Freddy Curci from Alias, Sheriff and Zion also contributed to additional backing vocals for this album. Originally, the band had recorded 30 songs and settled on 17 tracks for the album (CD; 15 on vinyl version).
"Point Blank" entered the UK album charts on 21 October 1989, and reached number 74; it was only in the chart for 1 week.
This is one of the best Melodic Hard Rock albums ever made. It's not a classic in the sense but it is an essential nonetheless. Every song on here is at least above average and over half of the album is Hard Rock perfection! Give Bonfire a listen and help bring them out of the shadows!!

The third full-length studio album by legendary British Country Rock singer.
The best of Bonnie Tyler's work with Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe. The production/writing team move more towards the Pop side and away from the Country flourishes, which marked Tyler's first two albums.
From the terrific opener "If You Ever Need Me Again" through to the closing "I'm a Fool", this is a solid collection of Pop songs, including soulful ballads ("Words Can Change Your Life"), saucy anthems ("My Guns Are Loaded") and moving singalongs ("Too Good to Last"). As with her two previous releases, there are also wonderfully interpreted covers ("Louisiana Rain" being the highlight).
A good mix of Rock, Folk, Country and Soul, "Diamond Cut" is definitely the high point of Tyler's pre-Jim Steinman career, and a dynamite showcase for Tyler's inimitable voice!

Only two of the tracks were written by Steinman himself: the title track and the international No. 1 hit "Total Eclipse of the Heart".

Five singles were released from "Natural Force". The second Single, "It's a Heartache", is among the best-selling singles of all time, with sales of over 6 million copies. It became Tyler's first charting Single in the United States, where it was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Many other singles from "Natural Force" also fared well in Europe.
"Natural Force" became Tyler's most successful album for RCA Records, with over 500,000 copies sold in the United States. In the United States, it reached number 2 on the Top Country Albums chart, and number 16 on the Billboard 200. The debut full-length studio album by legendary British Country/Pop singer.
Bonnie Tyler (then known as Gaynor Hopkins) spent seven years performing in local pubs and clubs around South Wales between 1969 and 1976, first as part of Bobbie Wayne & the Dixies, and then with her own band Imagination. In 1975, she was discovered singing with Imagination by talent scout Roger Bell. She was invited to London to record two demos, "My! My! Honeycomb" and "Lost in France". After months passed, RCA Records contacted Tyler, announcing that they would be releasing "My! My! Honeycomb" as a single in April 1976.
Bonnie Tyler's debut album is filled with promise and indications of great things to come. Produced (and largely written) by Ronnie Scott and Steve Wolfe, who worked as her managers while she was signed to RCA, "The World Starts Tonight" walks the fine line between Country and Pop that was popular in the mid-'70s.
As an introduction to Tyler's voice, this was an impressive debut. But it merely paved the way for Tyler's teaming with Jim Steinman, when she would realize her true potential and start the second phase of her multi-faceted career. A formidable debut, highlighted by covers of "Love of a Rolling Stone" and "Piece of My Heart".
Two singles were released from the album. The first, "Lost in France", was certified Silver by the BPI for sales of over 250,000 copies. "More Than a Lover" was also a hit, but failed to make progress in the UK Singles Chart after the BBC banned the song for its controversial lyrical content. The ban resulted in the song only reaching number 27 in the UK.
Shortly after recording the album, Tyler had surgery to remove nodules from her vocal cords. The operation left Tyler with a permanently raspy voice.
On the week ending 10 March 1978, over a year since its release, "The World Starts Tonight" debuted at number thirteen on the Swedish Albums Chart. It reached its peak position at number two in the following week, remaining there for a total of three weeks. In the fifth running week on the chart, "The World Starts Tonight" fell to number six, replaced by Tyler's second studio album "Natural Force".

For the first time on CD, the only live record by cult Swedish Death Metal band.
Initially founded as Global Carnage in October 1988, Carnage was one of the leading bands in the Swedish Death Metal scene and in addition to Merciless and Entombed they were also the first ones to secure a record deal (with Earache sub-label Necrosis Records).
Band's career was short-lived, however, as they played live only three times and released one full-length album in early 1990, after which they disbanded. After the split-up, Mike Amott joined Carcass, while Blomqvist, Kärki and Larsson joined Dismember, another cult band on the Swedish Death Metal scene. Soon, Estby also joined them and replaced Larsson on drums. Đorđević joined Entombed briefly. Liiva went on to form Furbowl, and later in 1995 joined forces again with Amott in Arch Enemy.
Recorded on April 11, 1989 in Stockholm, Sweden.
