The fourth full-length album by German Thrash/Death Metal band.
With this album, band finalize their end time-trilogy that was started with "Marauders" and continued with "Parasites". The end of the world has come, and Lost World Ордер are the prophets of ruin in a disturbing dystopia.
The band was founded in 2008, gained a wide fan base with the free download of "Marauders" and even raised it with "Parasites" with the CD-version released via GoodDamn Records. 
"Tyrants" is characterized by aggressive riffs, which are situated somewhere between classic Bay Area and German Ruhr area, the impulsive drumming and the pumping basslines. Twin guitar leads with NWOBHM-vibes and catchy chorus lines create modern walls of sound. The vocals set priorities from Thrash-shouting over growls to dark clear singing.
The production of the album is transparent and brutal yet absolutely natural. The band recorded the basics to the album live at the Soundlodge-studio, which is underlined by the energetic performance. Jörg Uken perfectly caught the essence of the band and created a modern, non-artificial sound.
The anthemic quality of the hooks and chorus of many of their songs adds to their calibre not only as Thrash Metallers, but also heavy Metallers. They’ve taken advantage of Germany’s rich Metal roots and taken their work to the next level – wowing fans new and old. Strangely, some of their songs also have a Mercyful Fate quality to them, with the storyline within each other instead of the whole album, which again is innovative and special. The elusive thing stalking in the album is somewhat aspiration for experiments, which adds something modern in the sound. The moderated melodies and the non-traditional rhythms make the songs individual.
“Tyrants” is the consequent development of the band’s sound and won’t disappoint anybody who is willing to take a look beyond his own nose!

The fourteenth full-length album by legendary Japanese Heavy Metal band.
It seemed that it wasn't really Loudness with only Akira left from the original band. Sure, Loudness no longer sound like they did on popular releases like "Thunder In The East" and "Soldier Of Fortune", but then again, those albums sounded like any number of 1980's Heavy Metal bands. The 90's releases from Loudness are quite unique and sound like no other band. Songs like "9 Miles High" are quite good. This particular song is a mixture of classic Thrash Metal layered with some 70's wah-wah guitar from Akira. "Wicked Witches" on the other had has a slow, Doomy, almost Stoner Rock/Metal sound. "Crazy Go-Go" sounds a bit like Loudness cover classic Kiss, although it is an original song. The track six, "Kaisou", is an odd Jimi Hendrix influenced instrumental that acts as an intro for "Babylon". "Taj Mahal" is a Middle Eastern sounding song that seems a bit out of place on this CD. "Mirror Ball" adds a bit of Funk to an otherwise heavy track. "Nighcreepers" is a fairly heavy song that finishes out the disc quite nicely. 
Very interesting brand of Heavy Metal with some slight Alternative touches. Inventive, highly original guitar work and not very annoying vocals. Much better than 80's hairy stuff from the same band! There is a ton of experimentation, but there is still plenty of meat to chew on!!
CD features fold-out cover-booklet and separate booklet with lyrics in Japanese. This is one of those Loudness albums that is only available as an Japanese import.

Re-release of the twenty-fifth full-length studio album by the legendary Japanese Heavy Metal band.
More than 30 years in, these Japanese Metal veterans are still finding new ways to deliver on their name. Their new 11-track outing goes beyond the KISS-meets-Accept vibe of Pop-Metal faves like “Crazy Nights” and “Heavy Chains” from 1985’s "Thunder In The East".
Injecting furious bursts of Thrash and Power Metal, the quartet thrives off founding guitarist Akira Takasaki’s worship at the altar of Van Halen and Randy Rhoads, even if this isn’t his most precise, clean playing ever.
This album is the second without their original and beloved drummer, Munetaka Higuchi, that died of cancer almost three years ago.
Akira Takasaki, the mastermind behind the zealous Loudness and its achievements, has been tagging additional influences that were shaped into the band's sound and music. The guitars reminded a bit of past glories but also maintained the present raw modern touch. Judging by the list of eleven songs, Takasaki hasn't lost his amazing lead guitar skills. His solos have always taken to classic Rock, Hard Rock and shredding Heavy Metal blisters. 
When the entire lineup was playing Loudness came up with good songs filled with 80s Metal takeovers. "Come Alive Again" is something that can be recognized as a classic. "Survivor" and "The Power Of The Truth" were good examples of how Loudness made good use of modern Metal while mixing it with older Metal roots. Still, on hard-charging cuts like “Keep You Burning”, Loudness conveys an unrestrained attitude of fierce self-determination remarkable for a band in its third decade.

What was not so long ago known as the bombastic Symphonic Power Metal figurehead - Rhapsody, then slowly became the not as good Rhapsody Of Fire (the name changed because of a now well-known copyright issue), and split in 2011 to become two distinct bands: Rhapsody Of Fire (Alex Staropoli, Fabio Lione), and Luca Turilli's Rhapsody.
Created by Luca Turilli after his departure from Rhapsody Of Fire, the album considered by band as their own "Rhapsody's 11th album". Turilli likes to label his music as "Cinematic Metal" - a Rhapsody's legacy since the band (allegedly) invented "Hollywood Metal" in the 90s. And "Ascending To Infinity" is precisely that: Cinematic Metal. It starts with an introductory track featuring Electronica, a badass voice-over telling you to sit back and prepare to be amazed (like in any self-(dis)respecting awful movie trailer), and a choir singing random Latin verses. Wow! The self-titled track "Ascending to Destiny", "Dark Fate of Atlantis" and "Excalibur" are here to testify that we are unmistakably dealing here with a true Rhapsody album!! Huge piles of cheese, frantic guitar and keyboards sections (even bass in "Dark Fate of Atlantis"), exhilarating rhythm changes, and of course choirs, choirs, choirs, and then some more choirs!!! Grandiloquence, grandiose, grand-everything!!!! Haters gonna hate, lovers gonna explode!!!!!
Not everything is the traditional material you can expect from this band however. "Dante's Inferno" and especially "Tormento E Passione", both deliver darker vibes we are not accustomed to hear in Rhapsody efforts. This track offers whirls of piano keys, a beautiful man-woman duet and an outstanding finale in which the excellent vocalist Alessandro Conti (Trick Or Treat) truly shows his mastery. He also shines in "Luna" (Alessandro Safina cover), an almost smooth Jazz song very enjoyable but which also feels a bit out of place in this album.
But fear not, for the Hollywoodesque and catchy “Clash of the Titans quickly” puts the album right back on track, and the 16-minute long ending track "Of Michael the Archangel and Lucifer's Fall" concludes the experience with an epic tale divided in three chapters. Haters hate, lovers go boom!
It seems the 2011 split-up was the brightest idea for Rhapsody. Although "Ascending To Infinity" still lacks a bit of the catchiness and frenzy fans of the band may rightfully expect, it remains a rock-solid effort with very good moments and purely stellar musicianship!! Pretty good job!!!
It is the only album to feature Alex Holzwarth on drums, as he subsequently decided to focus on his duties in Rhapsody Of Fire.

The new work by the Ukrainian project continues the ideas of the debut album. However, this time, the album is divided into two epic tracks.
Unleashing over 50 minutes of crushing Symphonic/Atmospheric Funeral Doom Metal, “On the Other Side of Life” delivers waves of brilliant atmospheric passages filled with crushing Doom riffs and proficient tempo changes.
The first part of this release comes under the 21-minute long “Grey Heaven Fall”, a highly atmospheric piece that nicely sets the mood. While there are not vocals in this release, the heavy riffs and powerful ambiance makes you forget about this and allow you to enjoy the release without even noticing.
If you thought the first song was long, the album title track “On the Other Side of Life” is even more grandiose with its 33-minutes of weeping guitars and punishingly demoralizing Doom! This song is comparable to the works of Mourning Beloveth and Mournful Congregation, but with an additional splash of Atmospheric elements. As the song progresses, the atmosphere continues to get bleaker and darker, making it perfect for this type of release.
Instrumental Doom/Death Metal by Luna, melodic, with a touch of Symphonic and Epic, perfectly serves as a soundtrack to the fantasies giving birth to new mythical worlds in the gloom of the night. This two-song monumental release hits all the right notes in terms of the genre and establishes the band as one of the premiere Atmospheric/Symphonic Funeral Doom Metal acts. If you like Shape Of Despair, Mourning Beloveth, etc., but could do without the vocals, Luna is a great alternative!

Take a band like In Flames, mix it up with some Children Of Bodom, put more melodic leads into it and less noise, and you'll have a pretty good idea of what Lunarsea are doing here. This might not be the most original piece of music but at least these guys do their job quite good.
The album sounds really good, the production is quite tight and you can hear clearly each instrument, the vocals have the perfect amount of notoriety, neither buried in the back, nor up front in your face. The vocal department did a wonderful job in the record, both harsh and clean vocals sound really good.
A very good start for Lunarsea, which paves roads for a great continuity and an upward course. Lunarsea have a long way to climb if they want to achieve success, but needless to say they had a right start with this album!

The aforementioned dark ambient elements thread through the album, imbuing proceedings with atmosphere (while also assisting in terms of creating a sense of continuity between the songs).
“Totenkränze” shows deepness of band's compositional skill. Use of different vocals approaches, very specific guitar riffing. All this goes with a furious rhythm section working like a machine. Gunner has also recorded bass lines for this record, to make it more in the Lycanthropy vein.

Second re-release on CD of the debut and only full-length album by Danish Death Metal band.
"A Serenade Of Agony" is the classic Death Metal album featuring members from Invocator and Dan Swanö of on vocals!
Maceration was a project of two Invocator members (Jakob Schultz and Jacob Hansen) and Lars Bangholt (Iconoclasm). On their debut "A Serenade Of Agony" Dan Swanö (Edge Of Sanity) did the vocals using his famous pseudonym Day Disyraah. Swanö left the band after the CD was released. 
Maceration was only a side project, but at least the members knew how to handle their instruments and how to write some very cool old school Death Metal riffs. And Dan Swanö never really sounded as good as a Death Metal vocalist as on this album. He sounds so brutal, that you hardly recognize him. 
Punishment 18 Records used the original cover art again for this re-release, and the one which got used in the second edition is also included in the booklet here. Re-edition features 12 rare tracks from live recordings, rehearsals and demos, as well as 16-page booklet with rare photos, flyers, etc.
A true classic Swedish Death Metal attack!!

The ninth full-length studio album by legendary American Groove/Nu Metal band.
The album is the first to be credited as completely co-written by all the band's members since "The More Things Change..." (1997). "Catharsis" saw the band stylistically returning to the Nu Metal-inspired sound of their previous albums, "The Burning Red" (1999) and "Supercharger" (2001).
"Catharsis" is the final Machine Head studio album to feature drummer Dave McClain and guitarist Phil Demmel, who both left the band in late September 2018 over their dislike with the album's direction and conflicts with Robb Flynn. Phil Demmel has publicly admitted his distaste for the album in many interviews after he left the band.
A significant proportion of the band's fanbase reacted negatively to the album online. As a result, Robb Flynn responded to the criticism in his single "Do Or Die", released in 2019.
"Catharsis" would go on to become Machine Head's best international chart debut, debuting at number three in Germany, number 10 in Australia, and number 12 in the UK.

The second full-length album by Portuguese Thrash Metal band.
The sunny country along the Atlantic coast isn't that much known from Heavy Metal, of course with some exceptions like Moonspell.
The music band play can be best described as Thrash Metal with some parallels to the earlier Sepultura and some German Thrash Metal roots. The vocals have some Death Metal influences, but not real growls. But Vieira keeps the vocals deep and rough, which fits the sound very good.
"Sounds Evolution" comes with 10 songs which are all quite good. The tracks aren't build up too complicated. They are all kept more simple and straight-forward. This makes the entire album easy accessable and entertaining. It is not the musicial complexity which is the joy of this record. It's the unleashed enegry of the youth which makes this album a cool one. It's good headbanging stuff.
The production is on a good level to. It provides the songs with the power they deserve. In addition the mix is done quite well too.
All in all "Sounds Evolution" is a good Thrash Metal album from a band which you should have on your radar. It's worth to give it a try!!

The tenth full-length album by the cult German Melodic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
Two and a half decades have passed since an album named "Night Of Passion" has taken the German scene by storm. It was one of the superb moments for the Hard Rock/Metal band of Mad Max. After the band's comeback in 1999 they have been quite a live show. "Another Night Of Passion", consisting of the band's original lineup, is based on the same vein of their old classic and can be described as a sort of continuance to the old prominence of the 80s.
Unlike some of their earlier releases, Mad Max played hard ball on this album. Through the tracklist of eleven tracks it was all around German Hard Rock and Heavy Metal in the vein of early 80s Accept blended with an American flavor. Without creating atmosphere using keyboards and other modern effects, the material was delivered straight up and with the kind of force that only 80s bands can come up with. Even though some might view this as a downfall or a shortcoming, the material played out quiet the same. Mad Max, next to with their dominant lead vocalist/guitarist Michael Voss, didn't seem to intend to write compositions out of the ordinary therefore everything will sound rather similar in orientation.
"Another Night Of Passion" is a good example of an album that is on a constant move with no withdrawals. Nearly the entire tracklist is a mid tempo of nonstop action. The songs are accessible and easy to comprehend; some are mere Rock anthems, under the same known formula that created most of the hits of the genre.
Yes, for new listeners they would probably sound like an old cliché but in the end of the day, and old school fans would probably will back you up on this, Mad Max have the experience on how to Rock it right and through the night!!
