The eighth full-length studio album by Belarusian Symphonic Pagan Groove Metal band.
Female fronted band Kaira was founded by Pavel Drozdov and Kaira back in 1999 and since 2006 they started a steady activity in releasing a new album almost every other year. For the first three years, Kaira and Pavel worked only with session musicians, both in studio and at concerts, releasing albums only in Russian. Three albums were released in Symphonic Power Metal style. With a new lineup, in 2009 the style of music and its sound radically changed. The following album, "Child Of Fire", sounded like Industrial Symphonic Metal. In 2012, the band’s style started to sound more extreme and enriched the lineup with the second vocalist. The band began Groove/Metalcore style with their next album, "Not For Angels".
With the "Roots Of Veles" album, we find Kaira in a new, Symphonic Groove Pagan Metal style. Ancient Old Slavonic sagas, embodied in a Heavy Groove Pagan Metal style pushed forward a new sound for Kaira. Thanks to the added aggression of the Groove Metal, their classic Pagan Metal has garnered new forms with bright, vivid images and a powerful heavy sound. The pearl of the album is the title track, song "Roots of Veles". It’s charged with a powerful energy and brings a fresh perspective to the band.
Getting to the music on it, Keira presents us 8 new tracks in 40 minutes playing time, a mix of Symphonic and Groovy Modern Metal complete with catchy and inventive guitar riffs, epic keyboards, Industrial/Electro effects, a powerful rhythm section and a very capable and versatile female vocalist that leads the band not only through her sex-appeal but also through a dominant atitude that captures the listener's attention and keeps it on a leash the whole time. In simply words, "Roots Of Veles" is a mix of Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, Groove Metal, Symphonic and even Goth Metal, and even a hint of Power Metal here and there, a modern release capable of pushing the band towards higher peaks in this scene! And they deserve it after almost two decades of playing music!!

Debut release of Finnish Thrash/Groove Metal band.
Kamara´s roots heading all the way back to year of 2000, when Juha Minkkinen (guitar, vocals) and Tuomas Janhunen (guitar) founded a band called Lumessakahlaajat. There where whole bunch of starting musicians involved, but eventually Kamara´s line-up came clear after couple of years. In time, when band was called Lumessakahlaajat, they played only coversongs from bands like Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus and Kotiteollisuus. After few gigs band decided to start to make music of their own. “Tämäkin Vielä” it’s a first EP by the band, and it’s translates to "This And All". Kamara's music is full of energy, despite they don't play typical Metal. Thrashy guitars are joining Hardcore elements, Punk tunes and Rock and Roll feeling. All these elements are boiling in Kamara's melting pot and the result is fresh, catchy music bursting out with full of energy. Every song here is a hit. Heavy guitars are mixing with catchy tunes and effect means great. The opening track "Hohto" is a killer with a super melodic chorus and third song here - the title track - attacks with Thrashy guitars and shouting vocals. Last, there are Finnish lyrics and it's great.
Band presents interesting kind of Grooving Thrash Metal and highly recommended for all fans of genre!!

Debut full-length album by the Polish Black Metal band.
Seven hymns dedicated to Chaos Magick. Destructive Dark Metal. The band consists of former members of such Polish bands as: Taran, Supreme Lord and In The Depth Of Night. From the very first notes onwards, it is clear that these three men mean business. The first track “Invocation/Manifest” has an unusual almost Techno tempo to it, mixed with heavily distorted guitars and a stereotypical Black Metal type of vocal style. The entire album verges on being chaotic and discordant, but still somehow manages to maintain some semblance of cohesion throughout. The third track, “The New Aeon”, with its darker flowing melodies reminiscent of a less accessible version of Satyricon circa their “The Age of Nero” album.
Being the veterans of various other bands, Kaoskult clearly know what they are doing and incorporate a myriad of twists and turns into their music. At first listen, these appear random, disjointed, and haphazard, but upon reflection, each section does meld into the others. The golden standard adhered to throughout the album is variation, with each track being vastly different to the next. The almost disjointed sound seems to come and go in waves, with the beginning of the album being heavily laden with twists; this dies down considerably before being returned to in the middle of the album before again simmering down. The sound quality is also very good, with each instrument being clearly audible and each complimenting the other in terms of volume. Technically speaking, the music is well written, but does lack some of the raw emotions typically found in this form of Black Metal.
All in all, this is definitely one of the slightly more experimental Black Metal bands out there, not entirely dissimilar to other bands such as Abigor. If chaotic yet coherent is something that appeals to you, then giving them a listen!

The debut EP by British Melodic Death/Thrash Metal/Hardcore band.
Taking their name from the mythical sea creature in Homers "Odyssey", Karybdis aim to create waves of their own. The Anglo-French-Indian quintet play a powerful, unpretentious blend of Melodic Death Metal, Thrash Metal and Hardcore. 
Guitarist Pierro Dujardin and drummer Mitch McGugan formed Karybdis in late 2008 after leaving their previous bands to pursue something much heavier. Pierros childhood friend and veteran of the French Underground Metal scene, Gil Renault, was added on vocals along with Harsha Dasari (guitar) and Jay Gladwin (ex-Shut Your Eyes And Youll Burst Into Flames) on bass. After an intensive writing period, Karybdis recorded a 3-track EP with Tariq Mattar (Megadeth, Iron Maiden) and began playing regularly across London. 
"War For Land" is a crushing slab of invention and creativity brought with a skill and accomplishment of the highest order. Karybdis bring a storm of Extreme Metal across the EP as powerful and rich as the Greek mythology, which inspired their name. Each song is a blistering aural violation of Metal punctured and energised with challenging Hardcore influences.

Re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary Swedish Depressive Death/Doom Metal band.
With their first album, Katatonia proved, that classic Death/Doom Metal need not come from England, whence, until then, the genre had flourished at the hands of Paradise Lost, Anathema, and My Dying Bride. In fact, "Dance Of December Souls" manages to drag Heavy Metal to a near-standstill along with the best of 'em, combining cookie-monster growls, slothful riffing, morbid guitar melodies, and slow but busy drumming into a mesmerizing wash of depression. Eight-minute highlight "Gateways of Bereavement" and the desolately beautiful instrumental "Elohim Meth" are both perfect examples of these exquisitely sluggish and gloomy capabilities, although other offerings like "In Silence Enshrined" and the fan favorite "Without God" do eventually pick up the pace somewhat - also with very positive results. Not so the ensuing twin monoliths stacked back to back, "Velvet Thorns (Of Drynwhyl)" and "Tomb of Insomnia", both of which exceed 13 minutes in length and prove simply suicide-inducing for all but the most patient of metalheads - despite any number of memorable passages strewn about their massive girths. Then again, it could be said that, by inspiring such thoughts of self-destruction, Katatonia accomplish their mission.
"Dance Of December Souls" has stood the test of time pretty well, and thus remains one of the Doom/Death genre's important building blocks.

Kemilon is a six-member metal band from Montreal that was formed in 2008, and they storm out of the gate with excellent song writing and dynamic instrumental performances on debut album, "Twisted Storm". The best way to describe the music of Kemilon is to imagine the Progressive elements of Dream Theater, revving it up to the speed of European Power Metal bands such as Helloween and Gamma Ray. Kemilon are Canada's answer to such acts like Symphony X and Stratovarius!
The debut album of Kemilon definitely shreds, but also includes a few surprises, like a power ballad, dueling keyboard and guitar battles, and catchy, fist-raising Metal anthems. The very defintion of Power/Prog Metal!! “Twisted Storm” is a very good debut of a young band that is already bringing a lot to the plate they can use to forge their own niche and create an identity for themselves. Kemilon is definitely a name we should keep an eye on!!!

The debut full-length studio album by American Stoner/Doom Rock/Metal band.
Founded in 2011 by drummer Vinny Appice (former Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and Dio), bassist Rex Brown (former Pantera and Down), guitarist Mark Zavon (former 40 Cycle Hum), and lead vocalist Dewey Bragg, the band is named after the town of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, a location renowned from pirating days. Kill Devil Hill released their self-titled debut album in May 2012.
On March 10, 2014, it was announced that Vinny Appice had left the band in order to commit to other things and projects, and that former Type O Negative drummer Johnny Kelly was his replacement. Appice later stated his leaving the band was due to the lack of punctuality of his other bandmates.

First official re-release of the third full-length album by the Chilean Industrial Gothic/Black Metal band.
The album follows "Introversion From Insane Sceneries", released in 2007, and its previous album, "Catrala", released in 2001. Kintral have an interesting hybrid style, at times lugubrious Goth and other instances with hints of Industrial music.
Recently, Juan Quinteros (vocalist / 7-string guitarist) won the first prize at the annual Art Faculty contest at the University of Chile for his composition “Io”. The song, about Jupiter’s moon, will be interpreted by the Chilean Symphonic Orchestra in its 2012 repertoire.

"Sonic Boom" does look back fondly on the band’s classic years, particularly the loose, more distilled Rock n Roll of their first three albums. On the surface, that probably makes it their best album in a long, long time. Even their better albums of the last 30 years have generally been nods to current musical trends, so at least now they’re giving a nod to their own success.
KISS has always been about entertaining their fans and that's just what "Sonic Boom" does. The other thing to keep in mind is that the release is available exclusively through Walmart, so really, they just want your money. Ultimately, "Sonic Boom" once again reminds us that KISS is that middle-aged guy with the top three buttons of his Hawaiian shirt undone who drives around in his convertible and still manages to bag the occasional college chick with his old pick-up lines from the '70s. You want to roll your eyes, but admit it; you love hanging out with the dude!
"Sonic Boom" debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, selling 108 000 copies in its first week of release. The #2 position was the highest mark ever reached by the band, beating the #3 debut of "Psycho Circus" in 1998. The album finished 2009 with 238 000 units sold. "Sonic Boom" finished 2010 as one of Billboard's Top 50 Rock Albums. Metal Hammer listed the album in 13th place on the Metal Hammer Albums of 2009 list. Since its release, "Sonic Boom" has received Gold certification in Norway.

Remastered re-release of the debut full-length solo album by the lead guitarist and vocalist of legendary American Hard Rock/Glam Rock band Kiss.
It was one of four solo albums released by the members of Kiss on September 18, 1978. The album featured Anton Fig on drums, which later performed session work on the Kiss albums "Dynasty" and "Unmasked", as well as become a member of Ace Frehley’s band Frehley’s Comet. Fig along with Will Lee, who played bass on three tracks on the album, became permanent members of Paul Shaffer’s band on "Late Night" with David Letterman and "Late Show" with David Letterman.
Of the four Kiss solo albums released simultaneously in 1978, the best of the bunch is guitarist Ace Frehley's. Similar in approach to Paul Stanley's album, Frehley did not stray far from the expected heavy Kiss sound (like Gene Simmons and Peter Criss did with their releases), but Ace was equipped with better compositions than Stanley.
Frehley proved once and for all that he was not simply a backup musician to Kiss head honchos Simmons and Stanley. All of the tracks are strong, such as the venomous opener, "Rip It Out", as well as a few tracks that confirm how Frehley was indulging in alcohol and drugs a bit too much by the late '70s ("Snow Blind", "Ozone", and "Wiped Out"). You'll also find many underrated compositions ("Speedin' Back to My Baby", "What's on Your Mind?", "I'm in Need of Love"), a gorgeous instrumental ("Fractured Mirror"), and the Top 20 hit single "New York Groove". Unfortunately, when Ace left Kiss in 1982 (eventually forming Frehley's Comet), he never came close to topping this solid and inspired 1978 solo outing.
