The first re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary Swedish Melodic Death Metal band.
Gates Of Isthar was formed in Luleå, Sweden, in 1992 under the name Disrupt (until 1994). Their second demo, "Season Of Frost", led to a record deal with Finnish Spinefarm Records. Their highly acclaimed debut album, "A Bloodred Path", was recorded at the famous Tico-Tico Studios (Sentenced, Demigod, Impaled Nazarene) and released in 1996.
These Swedes have a touch of frosty Black Metal in their melodic sound. The songs are catchy, change from groove beats to furious blast attacks, only to make you kneel on the ground with your horns up while the Maiden-like guitar solo drops in. Twin harmonies, pounding drums and bass, some keyboard here and there to give some more depth to the atmosphere and your high pitched vocals from the Blackest Scandinavian corner.
This debut put Gates Of Isthar on the map as one of the best Melo-Death bands around the globe. Great Melodic Swedish Death Metal for fans of Dawn, Dissection, Sacramentum, Unanimated and early At The Gates!
Re-issue comes with a booklet remake very close to the original 1996 version and the same cover-art as used back then.

Second full-length album by Polish Black Metal band.
Four years after the release of the debut album "Dzień Nocy", Genius Ultor once again spits in the face of humanity. "Nic Co Boskie Nie Jest Mi Obce" – accompanied by such an impudent statement, Wirus, Zgorzel and Kra have created an album that is incredibly blasphemous, arrogant, and devoid of love for fellow men. It was recorded within the stale and moldy walls of a pre-war house, haunted by what it has witnessed – complete human humiliation and degradation. Hate, pride, the reek of ethanol followed by the taste of warm blood – all of this is apparent within the seven tracks comprising the album. It’s a lot more mature than the last one, but inflicting more severe wounds that sting even long after it’s over. Genius Ultor descends into the Black Metal gutter once again and proudly marches on, sparing nothing and nobody. The album, invoking a necrophobic atmosphere and paranoid unease since the first seconds of the title track, heralds the end of everything we know and ultimately triumphs over the cowering humanity.
This is simply a very good album, indeed!

The fourth full-length album by Greek Blues/Hard Rock guitarist and singer.
A veteran of the Greek Melodic Metal circuit, described as the ‘Greek David Coverdale’, has amassed a contacts book to rival the best of them. In terms of Melodic Rock, there's no denying that Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple, Yngwie Malmsteen), Bobby Rondinelli (Rainbow), James Kottak (Scorpions, Kingdom Come), Greg Smith (Alice Cooper), Mark Cross (Firewind, Helloween, Outloud) and Yiannis Spathas (legendary Greek Rock act Socrates) can indeed be classed as "Very Special Friends". Add to that list the multi-talented Kip Winger, who co-produced the cumbersomely titled "Too Much Ain't Never Enough" and there's no denying that all the ingredients to make a killer Melodic Rock album are in place!
As mentioned before, George Gakis is a bit of a fan of Whitesnake, and he seems to have taken that to its natural conclusion on this album, crafting ten tracks that take a cookie cutter to the British band’s back catalogue. What we have is tracks that, basically, would not be out of place if done by that band, and when they work, they work well. For example, "Days Of Rock ‘n’ Roll" is a fantastic track that echoes Whitesnake’s later years.
"Too Much Ain’t Never Enough" is a good album. It’s a solid, heavy, Blues based piece that should bring the name of George Gakis to a much wider audience!

Gianluca Ferro is a guitarist from exemplary curriculum, involved from years in collaborations with such artists, as Andrè Matos (Angra, Shaman), Kiko Loureiro (Angra), Rafael Bittencourt (Angra) and Scott McGill (Michael Manring, Vic Stevens). At the present, he’s a guitar teacher in a known musical academy.
Active since the late '90s in the Italian Prog-Metal scene, with bands such as Time Machine, Doomsword and Arkhè, Gianluca recorded many albums and performed intensively in Italy and abroad. He plays at the legendary Gods Of Metal in Milan, in different occasions, sharing the stage with bands, such as Iron Maiden, Slayer, Slipknot, Dark Tranquillity, Testament, Rammstein, Manowar, Symphony X, Running Wild and many others. At the same time, he collaborates with Kiko Loureiro (Megadeth, Angra) and Rafael Bittencourt at the album "Reviviscence" by Time Machine. While devoting himself to guitar teaching, toward the beginning of 2000 Gianluca starts working on his solo debut album, "Involution" released in 2005 and worldwide distributed by Century Media.
His solo career marks an artistic transition, blending his Jazz-Fusion skills with modern Metal influences and complex harmonic and rhythmic textures, exploring polyrhythms and polymeters in a pristine, original vision. In 2008, he released a guitar trio album with Strings 24, with whom plays at the Peralta Auditorioum in Spain, together with Patrick Rondat and, with the same line-up, he performs at the Guitar Day 4 in Milan together with Paul Gilbert, Mattias Eklundh.
In February 2010, Gianluca takes part in OSV Project 3, a guitar-oriented instrumental album, featuring guitarists Achilleas Diamantis, Borge Olzen, Marcel Coenen, Jonas Tamas and Phy Yaan-Zek, which arouses the interest of the famous producer Mark Varney.
The 15 tracks of his second solo-album recorded with the collaboration of famous musicians.

The fifth full-length studio album by legendary British Hard Rock band.
Album was released during the heyday for the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal, when Heavy Metal was seeing a resurgence especially in Gillan's homeland. Many, including Ian Gillan himself, rank "Double Trouble" as the band's pinnacle; their finest moment. On the studio tracks producer Steve Smith manages to capture the raw, heavy feel of the band that was sometimes missing in past albums. The studio album featured two hit singles, “Restless” and “Nightmare”, which were unfortunately only released in Europe.
The album is titled "Double Trouble" because originally this was released as a double LP set with one record being the new studio material and the rest being live material, mostly taken from England's 1981 Reading Festival. The one exception is "If You Believe Me" which was recorded at London's Rainbow Theatre, March 4, 1981.
It is the first album to feature Janick Gers, since Bernie Tormé left the band during the tour of Germany in 1981. In fact Tormé was fired because he did not want to participate in the playback TV performance of "No Laughing in Heaven" at "Top Of The Pops" on 24 June 1981. Janick Gers came in for the rest of the tour on 25 June 1981. Of course, Janick Gers went on to record with Bruce Dickinson and eventually joined Iron Maiden.
Album reached #12 in the UK charts.
In 1989, Virgin Records re-released the remastered version of album in CD format, with the same track listing.

The style of the album ranges from my favorite Neo-classical songs to Eastern-influenced tracks, mid-tempo pompous compositions and quite sentimental moments, so there’s plenty of variety for the listener to choose which songs fits his taste best. Giuseppe is totally enjoyable when he performs the songs: he uses catchy phrases which never produce a dull moment and this is the great advantage of his second effort!

The only full-length studio album by British AOR/Heavy Metal band.
"Zero Four One" title is actually the dialling code for Glasgow, Scotland, where the band from, and the band could almost have been sponsored by the Scottish tourist board as they most definitely flew the flag for this proud and most beautiful of countries. Sadly, the band was a short-lived affair but quite a few years of development went into getting the band to the stage where they released this album, and then they eventually folded in the early ’90s, although there have been several resurrections and there is a new, current version of the band alive and well north of the border, we all wish them well. It is a real pity that this was not the springboard from them to go on to a great career, as this is a most assured debut with some fabulous songs and great performances.
Michael Boyle has a great voice and drives the band forward with authority, with Archie Dickson playing quite splendid solos and riffs to die for. Then, of course, is the drumming of Paul McManus, as good a drummer as there has ever been, and he is more than ably supported by the bass work of Neil Russell. The keyboards are understated and used for effect as this is a traditional, straight forward Hard Rock band, with Melodic Rock tendencies, so all songs have great hooks and lots of vocal harmonies to make this a most easy listening album indeed. Of course, it is ’80s Scottish rock so if you were into bands like Heavy Pettin then you will love this and there are even passages that hint at the heavier work of Pallas too. 
A great Rocking album of inspired ’80s Hard Rock with plenty of melody and great songs from a band that really should have been huge! If ever a band deserved a little luck, then it is Glasgow!!

The third full-length studio album by Dark Ambient/Funeral Doom Metal band.
While the band’s sound has been, and remains, rooted within the dark and maleficent realms of Dark Ambient and Industrialized soundscapes, the band has often toyed and teased with uncounted styles and subgenres in their quest. Once again, Goatpsalm brings an album full of misery, but the band’s path of achieving that goal is much different from the trails they’ve trod during prior outings. The band has always said that their line-up, aside from the core duo, has flowed as freely as their music. Downstream sees the addition of Vaarwel, the force behind the eclectic Russian project Frozen Ocean, which sees another left turn for Goatpsalm.
Despite the grand scale of Goatpsalm’s writing, "Downstream" is anything but an easy listen. The band is constantly teetering on the edge between shamanistic Ambient musings, crushing dirges and jarring, Industrialized movements. It’s as if the band wanted to imbue the listener with a sense of wonder and amazement, then quickly remove any sign of hope with an iron fist. The sparing vocals further in the removal of anything that might glimmer, utilizing a multifaceted approach, with each vocalist sounding just as dreadful and miserable as the next.
Moments of bewitching charm are surrounded by sepulchral slabs of Funeral-tinged Doom Metal and unsettling Industrialism. Repeated listens allow "Downstream" to become the earworm that it was meant to be, even if it invokes a fair amount of dread. This is not an album to sit passively in the background, but if you consider yourself up for a challenge, "Downstream" will be lurking in the dark.
Haunting passages of rustic Ambient noise, primal Paganism and slow dirgeful dread. Wonderfully atmospheric for fans of Blood Of The Black Owl!

The third full-length studio album by legendary Belarusian Pagan/Folk/Doom Metal band.
Other than being the best Folk Metal album of the year, if not decade, "Steel Says Last" is also one of the most unexpected reunion stories. Initially slated for release in 2001, it got stuck in production limbo; Gods Tower disbanded, and in 2003, their guitarist and songwriter-in-residence, Alexander Urakov, drank himself to death. End of story. But as vocalist Lesley Knife admitted later, the idea of a reunion has been bouncing around since the day they split, and in 2010, they finally did it, recruiting Urakov's pupil Dmitry Lazarenko on the axe - and those were some big shoes to fill.
No bookmaker would have offered sensible odds that it all would work out -- but those who banked on it would have raked in a heap of cash, because the record is as unique as "The Turns" and "Ebony Birds", which made Gods Tower a cult band in Europe in the late '90s to early 2000s.
 The thing is, there's approximately a million bands that play Folk Metal by getting a dude with bagpipes or flute to toot over Hard Rock riffs, but with Gods Tower, the Ethnic elements are encoded right in the guitar work - in the genes. The music is based on melodies that sound at once traditional and devastating in the best Metal sense, and offers plenty of clever, also Folkish, licks backed by thundering bass. The midtempo rumbling, Knife's hoarse roar, and the meaty production seal the impression - this is really how Slavic tribes would have sounded on the march, if given guitars and Marshall amps. Between the you-have-to-hear-it guitar playing, the vaguely timeless melodies, and the monumental feel of an ancient legend made riff, these guys can induce battle trance like no other, and it's an experience not to miss out on!

Second compilation album by Brithish Synth Pop project.
Goldfrapp have spent the past decade moving back and forth between icy Electro-Glam and Atmospheric balladry, delivering these extremes in tonally consistent albums that dare to alienate listeners who favor one style over the other. Despite this polarity, the duo has a remarkably consistent aesthetic, with a gloss of aloof sexiness and cinematic glamour connecting the sci-fi cabaret number "Utopia", the sinister S&M throbber "Strict Machine", the swelling ballad "Black Cherry", the Glam Rock stomp "Ooh La La", and the spacey yet pastoral Folk tune "A&E".
Following the duo's departure from EMI in August 2010, it was confirmed in April 2011 that Goldfrapp had begun work on their sixth studio album. In December 2011 Mute announced that a fourteen-track retrospective compilation titled "The Singles" would be released on 6 February 2012 by Mute and Parlophone, including the biggest singles from their five studio albums, as well as two brand-new songs, "Melancholy Sky" and "Yellow Halo". "Melancholy Sky" was released on 3 January 2012 as the compilation's lead single, while a video for "Yellow Halo" was directed by Lisa Gunning and entirely shot on Gunning's iPhone in South America. Both of the new cuts call back to their delicate, loungey debut, "Felt Mountain", but Gregory's approach has evolved with time, integrating elements of each record along the way. These songs may be a deliberate move to come full circle at the end of this retrospective set, but they could just as well point to a future in which the duo can comfortably let all aspects of its sound coexist on one record, as they do on this collection.
"The Singles" as a whole feels like a more complete and satisfying journey than either of Goldfrapp's last two albums, progressing confidently from crushing guitar-driven Boogie to weightless Space Pop!
