Re-release of the fourth full-length album by the American Heavy/Power Metal band.
"Passage To The Other Side" is really more of the same from the band's debut: anthemic Power Metal with screaming guitars, ear-splitting percussion, and robust, operatic vocals. Musically, the band’s sound is dominated by solid hooks and generally fast paced riffs that cover a lot of metal styles. “Dance with the Dead” and “The Last Horizon” have a strong Power Metal feel to them. “Mental Messiah”, “Johnny” and “Fever in the City” are practically Speed Metal. The title track is an epic ballad number. The band also puts on a solid performance throughout with guitars that are often melodic but with a strong crunch, vocals executed in shrieking Halford/Dickinson worship, and plenty of opportunities for the rhythm section to shine.
The disc will ring true for fans of Manowar and Judas Priest - in addition to the small but devoted legion of worldwide fans who reverently follow young upstarts such as Primal Fear - especially given the band's lineup (this is ex- Armored Saint, Anthrax and present Fates Warning bassist Joey Vera and Helstar vocalist James Rivera; also guitarist Jack Frost featured, ex- of Rob Rock, Belladonna, Savatage, Speeed, Metalium... etc).
All in all, it may be the best album that Seven Witches put out and would probably be a good purchase for newer fans!

The second full-length studio album by Kazakh Symphonic Black/Death Metal band.
Hailing from Kazakhstan, a country unknown for its Metal output, SevenSins, with their "Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse", bring about 50 minutes of utterly epic sonic devastation.
The band truly excel is in their use of orchestration. The symphonic elements to their music create atmosphere, but do not overpower the brutality. Taken as a whole, "Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse" is a fast, utterly savage lesson in Black Metal. The orchestration and operatic, female vocals stand as an excellent contrast to the blast beats, down-tuned riffing and venomous vocals found throughout the majority of "Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse".
If you are looking for a traditional Black Metal album that is cold, raw and has the production value of a 1920s film, then you need to give this a miss. If you are looking for a traditional Death Metal album, built on utter brutality, again, give this a miss. "Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse" is a little too Blackened to be Death Metal, and a little too full-bodied to be Black Metal. The production quality is surprisingly strong! Right across the record, the listener is treated to a sound somewhat akin to the bastard love-child of Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir would sound like.
"Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse" is one of 2016’s most enjoyable and well-executed albums, heavy, gloriously melodic experience that won’t disappoint any Death or Black Metal fan and will leave you feeling like you’ve just taken an exhilarating ride through the dark and icy forests of Kazakhstan.

The sixth and the final full-length album by the German Melodic Speed/Power Metal band.
The album itself seems to be a concept album that follows a complex tale of prophecies, assassinations, corrupt clergy, and the titular life-prolonging mineral that links them all together. Described by the band as “an allegory for the life and acts of Jesus”, it’s a brave mix of fantasy, science fiction, and gritty reality, and it works; Seventh Avenue do manage to weave a really great story.
Of course, a great story is nothing without powerful music to back it up, and fortunately, Seventh Avenue have got that covered as well. The instruments and melodies are a product of the mind of vocalist/guitarist Herbie Langhans, and he does a masterful job with them; every song is absolutely nailed in terms of musical rhythm. Fast-paced Power Metal anthems dominate the album, but they never become boring due to the fantastically catchy (and quite different) choruses. Ballads come at just the right times, and are equally well done.
Obviously, such a high concept could not be carried out without hearty performances from the band members themselves, and yes, they can back up their ambition with the requisite virtuosity. Everyone comes in clear through the mix, and even though Langhans’ divine vocals are the highlight here, everyone gets their turn in the spotlight.
If you’re a fan of concept Heavy/Power Metal in the vein of Avantasia’s “The Metal Opera” or even the Genius trilogy, then you’ll absolutely love “Terium.” It’s fast, well-written, interesting and catchy as all hell. Terium will grab your balls from the very beginning and will not let them re-shape till the album's over. But for a duration of nearly 70 minutes, you'll surely have a good time! Definitely one of the best Power Metal releases of the year!!

Formed in 1985, Shabby Trick from Florence released only three albums to date, with decades intervals between each (1989 - 2000 - 2010).
Originally released on vinyl and cassette in 1989, and on CD in 1990 (in Japan only), "Bad Ass" is a hidden Italian Metal gem. Fans of Mustaine’s voice will absolutely love Pieroni’s vocals. He sounds like Mustaine on all the songs. But don’t expect any Thrash Metal tricks from Shabby Trick – “Fallin’ Star” is the only song that it is remotely Thrash Metal. 
This is a good record for diehard fans of Italian Metal from the 1980s, even that the band sounds more like in American way. Those who are into American Metal from the 1980s will appreciate this record!

When Shadow Rebels set out to craft an album, they don't just create music – they compose sonic narratives that resonate with poignant themes and dynamic soundscapes. Shadow Rebels decided to approach the recording of the new album in the most Grunge style. Unlike the previous release, which was recorded in a pure studio style, with many overdubs and individual recordings of the musicians, this time all the musicians entered the studio and simultaneously played all the songs one by one, in one day, on a tape recorder.
There are a lot of powerful and fast numbers, Stoner riffs, and heartfelt ballads about the fragility of life. No pathos, only self-irony, despair, reflections on the eternal: about enemies, about friends, about God and the loss of faith, about hope in times, when no place for hope. The second full-length album by Israeli Progressive Alternative/Grunge/Fusion/Hard Rock band.
The first official Shadow Rebels release, “Oversleep Hurricane”, represents a new level in the band’s development. After a 4 years break, the band has assembled in a new lineup and this time they abandoned their "guitar-less" sound. Thanks to this decision, the trio’s sound became harder and tighter. Dynamic and bright Grunge abounds with interesting melodies laid upon tough guitar riffs. Filigree work of the bass guitar emphasizes the will of the band to distinguish each of the bandmates. 
It’s impossible to classify the music to any one genre and template, as the band incorporates elements of Fusion and Jazz Rock, especially in the guitar solos, as well as Alternative and Progressive Rock features. Add the unchanging tribute to the Hard Rock roots, which are especially evident in the Gillan-esque vocals. Ethnic elements find their way into the fold of a very versatile sounding album thanks to the addition of sitar and percussion. Live violins add even more expression to the ballad tracks on the album.
The album was recorded on an all analog equipment without digital computer editing, which allowed to capture the warm tube sound!

Second EP from the Italian Power Metal band.
Shadows Of Steel released this 4-track EP as a teaser of the coming “Second Floor” full-length album. Band follows the classic Italian Symphonic Speed Power Metal pattern with a constant double bass and high pitched vocals of Wild Steel. The opening track ‘Heroes’ is from the “Second Floor” album and the two following tracks are taken from the Japanese version of “Twilight” EP. The real deal to get this EP is the previously unreleased track ‘The Hawk’. The third full-length album by Brazilian Progressive/Power Metal band.
Ricardo Confessori cleaned up the house in 2006, remaining the only active member of Shaman due to "musical differences" with former band mates André Matos, Hugo & Luis Mariutti and Fabio Ribeiro. After posting two studio releases since their previous split from Angra, could the Brazilian scene handle another split? Well, 2007 brought us the answer with a new lineup and a new fantastic album, "Immortal"!
With Léo Mancini filling in on guitars, Fernando Quesada on bass and Thiago Bianchi on vocals, the band struck gold to recreate the golden years of Brazilian Metal. Obviously oriented more Progressive than ever due to Ricardo's drumming, this "Immortal" brings furious heavy tunes and power ballads back to life!
Sure, the vocal style is very similar to André Matos but why complain? After all, that is what we would expect as Angra did the exact same thing when André left the band and replaced him by Edu Falaschi. The accentuated Progressive edge of the songs renders this album the best thing coming out of the diverse projects created from the ashes of the original Angra lineup since 1996's Holy Land. With enraged guitar work and epic compositions, this new Shaman will seduced your musical senses like never before. Songs like "Strength" and "Freedom" embody the essence of the new Shaman, fast, catchy and technical!!
It remains Power Metal by all aspect as it is clear on the opener "Inside Chains", and a handful of songs might be perceived as too cheesy. The band is younger and the new musicians all have something new to offer.
If you liked the previous Shaman albums, it's strongly recommended to check out André Matos solo project instead. On the other hand, if the thought of hearing great Prog Power appeals to you, "Immortal" is definitely for you! You are standing in front of one of 2007's best Progressive Metal albums, and surely one of the surprises of the year!! Now, we know what musical differences arose between Confessori and his former band mates.

The fourth full-length album by the Brazilian Progressive/Power Metal band.
Mixing the rhythms of world music with the virtuosity of Power Metal creates a potent witches' brew of sounds on Shaman's "Origins". You'll get plenty of speedy solos and soaring falsettos, that often accompanied by a sense of rhythm - sometimes bordering on outright funk - that sets this Brazilian band apart from other Power Metal acts.
Thiago Bianchi's Steve Perry-ish vocals power many of the songs, with an impressive upper range that's as at home on rockers like "Inferno Veil" as it is on the quieter, but no less potent "S.S.D. (Signed Sealed And Delivered)." He's definitely got pipes to spare — sometimes going a little too far on the falsetto ("No Mind").
A Power Metal band is often only as good as its guitarist. In Leo Mancini, Shaman has found an ax-man excelling both in the areas of shredding (the mind-blowing intro to "Lethal Awakening", for example) and melody (the acoustic intro to "Blind Messiah"). He also manages to create a near-Thrash sense of heaviness in parts of "Ego Pt. 2".
Ex-Angra drummer Ricardo Confessori has a much more Groove-oriented style than many Power Metal skin-pounders (though the double-bass setup gets a fair workout here, as well). Much of the world music influence comes through in his drumming, particularly on tracks like "Finally Home" and "Inferno Veil".
On the downside, there are a couple of tracks that feel like filler, including the piano ballad "Rising Up To Life" and the aforementioned exercise in vocal excess "No Mind".
Providing a more rhythm-oriented experience, Shaman's "Origins" serves up plenty of the soaring vocals and shredding solos that will thrill Power Metal fans. It's little wonder the band is one of the biggest in Brazil these days!

Second full-length album by German Gothic Metal/Rock band.
Five years ago Shardless arose from the Death Metal band The Prior's Day, as Corinna Ketterer replaced the former singer. From then on, the band broke up from their previous musical roots and then moved toward Melodic Rock with Gothic influences. Band took another step forward with their second album again recorded and mixed in the G.Knüppel Studios. The sound had clearly evolved and become more professional. Music on the album is a worthy - Gothic Metal with female vocals that are characteristic thick unkempt twin guitars and despite the lack of a keyboard player in the rich synth, up to the electronic inserts and samples. Guitar, performing rhythmic functions, prefer not to separate riffs (though there are some songs), and a dense veil slightly Metal sound, sometimes diluting unpretentious melodic solos. The density of the sound gives the bass, the drums are raised slightly in frequency, but the music sounds in the high register, in spite of this. Keyboards are nice varied.
Despite an unknown name in the music world, fans of Elis, Dreams Of Sanity, Edenbridge, Dakrua can get pleasure from listening to this CD, finding the lines of these bands in different forms in Shardless, without repeating any of them. Surprisingly decent album!!
