After the recording of The Dominatress, Kenny Powell left Savage Grace to form his own band, Omen.

Third re-release of the seventh full-length studio album by legendary American Heavy/Power/Progressive Metal/Rock band.
The last album to contain the talents of guitarist Criss Oliva, who died six months after its release, and the first Savatage album to feature Zachary Stevens (former singer of Wicked Witch) on lead vocals, following the departure of Jon Oliva from the fore of the band - departure as lead vocalist, but not as keyboardist or writer.
While Stevens did not have the emotional range that Oliva showed on "Gutter Ballet" and "Streets", he had a less bombastic delivery that fit well with the new material that Paul O' Neill and the Oliva brothers and were writing.
After moving towards Progressive Metal on the previous two albums, "Edge Of Thorns" was a leaner, more understated guitar-driven record. The majority of the album consists of stripped-down Metal anthems, recorded with less flashy guitar work and production than on previous records.
The band continued to try out new sounds, however, using an electric sitar on "Degrees of Sanity" and recording their first acoustic ballad with "Sleep", which closes the album. "Edge Of Thorns" also includes two short solo piano instrumentals adding a note of emotional depth most Metal bands never explore. Among the highlights are the pounding "He Carves His Stone" and "Conversation Piece", with its lyrics about self-mutilation. The title track remains one of the band's finest moments, with a haunting piano phrase, a fierce guitar riff, and a strong lead vocal by Stevens.
A true one-off in the Savatage canon, the tragic death of Criss Oliva following the release of "Edge Of Thorns" ended up leading the band back to Progressive Metal. Also the drums on this album sound different, from other Savatage records, as Steve "Doc" Wacholz decided to use electronic drums. Although most of the drum kits sound authentic, a difference in the sonority of the toms can be heard. "All That I Bleed" and "Miles Away" were the last songs Jon Oliva, Criss Oliva and the producer Paul O'Neill wrote together. For that, these are still Jon Oliva's two favorites on the album.
Fans of old Savatage will probably still feel a bit of hesitation calling this album "Savatage's best", but it's undeniable that this band was looked at differently after this album came out, in an era that Metal was almost an afterthought. This album proved to be a true gem musically and sadly historically with the passing of Criss Oliva. One can only wonder where this line-up would had taken Savatage had it recorded another album and how Savatage would had survived the '90s and became the flag bearer for Metal. “Edge Of Thorns” lives up to the high quality predecessors “Gutter Ballet” and “Streets: A Rock Opera”. This great record completes what is easily the greatest Rock meets classical music album trilogy. For far over sixty profound minutes if you include the essential bonus tracks, passionate Rock and Metal music meet soft experimental sounds driven by classical instruments such as piano and violins but also acoustic guitars and sitars. It’s hard to imagine a Rock or Metal fan that doesn’t at least like this album and that’s why it's highly recommended to add this forgotten genre milestone to your collection at all costs!!

Scars started their career back in 1991! Through the years the band has managed to play along many respectful names. Their debut 3-way split release was out in 1994, called "Ultimate Encore"...
"The Nether Hell" is essentially a tribute to classic Thrash (think Exodus and Slayer) at their peak with a bit of German Thrash (Destruction, Kreator, Sodom) and a trace of Death tossed into the mix. The music is competently and energetically performed and the production is surprisingly good for an independent release. The guitar sound shines through and the vocals are some good, serious Thrash vocals sort of like Sepultura. The riffs will have you banging your head and the fast parts will melt you. The average song length is quite long, because the 6 songs have a total length of around 30 minutes.
Recommend to every Thrash Metal fan out there, the music you'll hear will shock the crap out of you! This mini-album is worthy for many reasons for example the incredible music, the layout, the songwriting, the solos, etc. even the lyrics are interesting to read!A really good find!!

The Finish from Scent Of Flesh play brutal and quite fast Death Metal however full of melodic moments (nothing to do with the Swedish school!). The vocalist has a deep and “clean” growl which sometimes reminds the voice of the Obituary frontman, covered with spider web, mixed with Polish Christ Agony’s vocalist voice. Musically stuff is quite eclectic – there is something from Death or Severed Savior, some elements of our Vader, or even echoes of early Napalm Death and Carcass. A varied mixture, but very, very convincing. If you love Death Metal, don’t even think about hesitating… buy or die!!

The bonus-song "Tale of Asgards foray" was recorded 2001. It is quite different to everything that came later on.

Schizo have finally come out from the Underground Metal scene and have become a big name in Metal, probably the best Italian Metal band around, and really deserve to be called so, because now Bulldozer and Sadist have split up, and Necrodeath and Disarmonia Mundi have really sold out, Schizo remains one of the few big Italian bands that can really call themselves "Metal".
Listen to this CD once and you'll immediately realize this is a bad ass band, under every aspect. Every band member in fact plays a really big part in the CD and every instrument sounds ferocious and quick paced, although Schizo can master very well tempo changes, ranging from fast guitar riffs, with crushing drum blast beasts and very complicate bass parts, to instant slow down, with the drums just keeping the tempo, the guitars making plain harmonics and with a plain melodic voice. Schizo also can create wonderful intros.
The singing and drumming play the lions part, and are simply breath-taking.
In fact, Nicola Accurso's vocals are every time aggressive, and are very particular, because they are halfway between plain screaming and Tom Araya's aggressive singing tone, but are much quicker and aggressive and never drop a tone or look weak. Accurso can really sing in a wild sounding scream, and makes a wonderful impression on the listener.
The drums are even better: their sound is crushing from start to end, and they honor the Thrash/Black Metal genre. The blast beats play a big part, both because they are the main drum parts in the songs and because they're always quick and tough. Double bass is also used very well and even the tom parts are creative and complex, always playing in fast tempos.
With artwork by the legendary Lorenzo Mariani (Darkthrone, Mayhem) and arguably decent production from Peter In De Betou, Schizo's second effort is admirable enough! "Main Frame Collapse" might have been compelling enough to rival the mighty Necrodeath back in 1989, but Schizo might have been consigned to the Underground by a higher power a long time ago. Future serial killers, however, should look no further…

The fourth full-length album by cult Italian Thrash Metal band.
Schizo have been pioneers of the Italian Extreme Metal scene together with Bulldozer and Necrodeath. Band was founded in 1984 and symbolizes one of the most important brand in Italian Extreme Metal scene. Chuck Schuldiner, mastermind of legendary Death band, was asked to join the band for the recording sessions of “Main Frame Collapse” in 1989; however, due to the intense activity with his band, Schuldiner was forced to deny the request. Schizo was on hold between 1999 and 2005. Their 2007 waited come back release, “Cicatriz Black”, has been extremely well received by critics and fans. In September of 2007, founding member Alberto Penzin decided to leave the band due to musical differences and personal problems with the rest of the band. Then, Dario Casabona was named as new four strings player. Band released the third and last full-length album in 2010, “Hallucination Cramps”.
The fourth album, “Rotten Spiral”, gives us intense, perfectly timed, beautifully executed melodies and harmonies, with some of the most cleverly mastered combinations between the instruments and vocals. “Rotten Spiral” is a real fast paced and head moving album from start to finish. If you remember the old school greats in Metal you’ll love this, with the track "Skeptic Flesh", and those melodic sections delivering power so intense it’ll blow your head off.
The solos are brilliantly crafted, from the dive bombs and pitched harmonics to the tremolo picking. The title track is brilliant, a real head mover throughout. Speed, ambience, power, riffs to melt your mind, vocally driven, and the solos to send shivers through you.
Overall, this is an incredible album, which would appeal to all Metalheads looking for something more from their Metal!

The second full-length album by the American Pop-Rock/Altenative/Electroclash/Glam Rock band.
The first Scissor Sisters album was one of the catchiest debuts of the new millennium, but also one of the best-crafted. All camp on the surface but with plenty of substance underneath, it succeeded because the band wrote fantastic songs and backed them with excellent productions, usually in the vein of their biggest Pop/Dance heroes, from the Bee Gees to George Michael.
If the follow-up, "Ta-Dah", doesn't reach as high as its predecessor, it's certainly not the fault of some spot-on arrangements by head producer Babydaddy. Soundtracking his own mythical night at Studio 54 circa 1978, Babydaddy's Discoball Jazzfest Studio in New York City pumps out tracks gloriously in debt to the Bee Gees (of course), Elton John (although not on the track he contributes piano to), the Rolling Stones' brassy late-'70s stompers, Electro-Disco arena Rock (if there is such a thing), and some sort of '70s Disco hokum that features a very talented Gina Gershon on jew's-harp. Similarities to their debut are much easier to find than differences, although the songs aren't quite as memorable (except the single "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'") and "Ta-Dah" is slightly same in comparison. Still, Scissor Sisters remain consummate masters of their material; the chord changes on the ballad "Land of a Thousand Words" defy listeners to not think of a glittering discoball, which is precisely the right image to be conjured.
Album features collaborations with Elton John, Carlos Alomar and Paul Williams. It's debuted at number 19 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 42000 copies in its first week. Upon its release, "Ta-Dah" received positive reviews from most music critics.

The first re-release of the fourth live album by legendary German Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
The first acoustic live album and another non-Metal passion project from Germany’s original Heavy Metal band, "Acoustica" composed of a number of ‘unplugged’ performances from one of their early tours from this millennium (there’s also a DVD and VHS of the same title that’s a bit longer). 
"Acoustica" was recorded during three concerts held in February 2001 at the Convento do Beato in Lisbon, Portugal. It was a most unusual set for the band, as Klaus Meine comments on the DVD. The band was supported by female backing vocalists, a percussionist, an extra guitarist, and Christian Kolonovits on keyboards. Kolonovits also collaborated on rearranging the songs for the acoustic set. He had previously worked with the band as a conductor and arranger on the "Moment Of Glory" album.
Like the orchestral album "Moment Of Glory", the majority of tracks rendered acoustically here are the band’s ballads. And once again, it’s no surprise, as these are the tracks most easily adaptable to the ‘unplugged’ sound. However, unlike the aforementioned attempt at diversity, here the Scorpions are a bit more ambitious and varied. Scorpions performed four new songs: "Life Is Too Short", "Back to You", "I Wanted to Cry" and "When Love Kills Love", the last of which was released as a Single. All the new songs were featured on the VHS, while "Back to You" and five other previously recorded songs were omitted from the CD.
"Acoustica" also contains cover versions of The Cars' "Drive", Kansas' "Dust in the Wind", and the Queen hit "Love of My Life".
The album attained Gold status in Brazil, and the DVD attained Platinum status. In Portugal, the album went straight to No.1, selling 50 000 copies.

"Animal Magnetism" is the one of the most awesome records Scorpions ever did, in the same level of their most popular famous releases. This one is quite unpredictable. There are a few similarities, though, like the loose tempos and omnipresent massive riffing. The first remastered re-release of the eighth full-length studio album by legendary German Hard’n’Heavy band.
"Blackout" was the Scorpions' first majorly successful album, due to its clever balance of Pop/Rock (the title track), power ballads ("When the Smoke Is Going Down"), and catchy Heavy Metal ("Dynamite", "No One Like You"). Vocalist Klaus Meine had a throat operation prior to the record's release, and surprisingly, his voice sounds more melodic and lively than ever. The rest of the band sounds great as well, and the album is highlighted by the fast-paced performances of guitarists Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs.
After losing his voice during the writing of the album, lead vocalist Klaus Meine had to undergo surgery on his vocal cords, and it was uncertain whether he would be able to record it. Demos of the material were recorded with Don Dokken as vocalist; however none of those recordings are featured on the album. Rudolf Schenker could not choose between his guitar solos on "China White", so the US and European releases differed in this small detail.
A self-portrait of artist Gottfried Helnwein is featured on the cover of the album. Rudolf Schenker portrays this character in the "No One Like You" music video.
The RIAA certified Blackout Gold on June 24, 1982 and Platinum on March 8, 1984.
"Blackout" has arguably been called the Scorpions' best record ever, and that statement is not unjust - it has more energy than anything else they have ever released!

The album includes new, completely rerecorded versions of their greatest hits, as well as cover songs of other bands, that have hugely influenced Scorpions down the years. The half of the album features re-recorded versions of their own classic songs and the other half cover versions of 1960s and early 1970s popular Rock songs.
Twenty months after Scorpions released what was announced as their last album, “Sting In The Tail”, and promoted it with what was billed as their Farewell World Tour, they have a new package combining newly-recorded productions of some of their classic songs, including "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "Wind of Change" and "Still Loving You", with covers of songs previously recorded by Soft Cell, T. Rex, The Beatles, Small Faces, The Kinks, and Rolling Stones.
During its first week on sale in the US, "Comeblack" sold about 5000 copies, debuting at number 90 on the Billboard 200 chart.
