Fifth full-length album by Swedish Melodic Black Metal band.
Siebenburgen has a particular aura about them that is much different than many bands that meld Black Metal and Gothic overtones. They have advanced greatly in terms of songwriting, yet they still possess the raw vibe that fans enjoyed so much on “Delictum.” But on “Darker Designs And Images”, the band branches out into wider arrangements and relies a bit more on allowing the melody to carry each tune, however grim it may be. As “Darker Designs” fades in with an evil chant, one has the impression that they are going to be in for a great album if they have any inkling of the band’s previous material. At this point, Siebenburgen launch into a full on Black Metal assault that morphs further into a grim take on more traditional Heavy Metal. Marcus Ehlin has a cool sounding snarl that adds a dour feeling to songs like “Rebellion” and “A Crimson Coronation,” where Erika Roos puts in a haunting female vocal performance. The fact that Siebenburgen continue to produce continually better records beckons well for the future, but for now, “Darker Designs And Images” stands as Siebenburgen’s masterpiece effort thus far!!

The third full-length album by Slovakian Progressive/Power Metal band.
This Slovakian Melodic Metal band formed in 2007 by bass player Ronnie König. Göran Edman joins the band, and they started working in debut album. The self-titled album was released in 2008, receiving great reviews from around the world. Their next release comes in 2010 in the form of a concept album “The Eyes Of Power”, that gets well received.
In the writing process for their third album, it became clear that the album needs more vocalists than one, since the idea was to make a diverse and quite deep concept album. And it comes out in the form of “Exodus”. It`s a historical concept album about the Israelites who were enslaved in ancient Egypt, and it features different vocalist on each track. The album opens with acoustic “On The Nile”, and makes a short instrumental brake in the middle with amazing Melodic “Last Days In Egypt”.
Every song on this release is quite different than the other (choosing different vocalist for each song can add to diversity), but fit perfectly connected with overall theme of the album. You can also find a quite diversity in the sound of guitars, from heavier robust riffs in “Let Us Go!” to a more content in “Song of Deliverance”, and let`s not forget the outstanding solos in “Wrath of Pharaoh”…
The story of "Exodus" is well known to almost everybody, and it`s quite nicely turned into lyrics. While listening one gets the idea that every song was written with each singer performing it in mind. Each and every one of them brings the last missing piece to the track they`re performing, the singing style or the sound of their voice. On that part everything`s fitting perfectly.
The production of album is great; instrumentations are well blended, so that every involved instrument can be heard.
Concept albums are one of the most risky ones to make, having in mind that a lot pieces need to fall into right place. While listening to “Exodus” you get an idea that making concept album is quite simple. That’s how Signum Regis made it sound like. The epic story under layered with amazing music, nicely written lyrics, and all that sang by amazing singers.
If you’re a fan of concept albums make sure you don’t miss out on this one, and if you’re not make sure that you hear it at least, might just change your mind regarding concept albums!

The Expanded Edition of the second full-length studio album by cult German Disco band.
In their second album, band featured a mix of modern Euro Dance sound and unique melodic style that always was a trademark of Silent Circle's songs. "2Night" become the debut single from new album and everybody had noticed that they've changed, and all changes were up-to-date. The song topped the charts and become their biggest hit in the 90s. Following the debut single and the release of the album, the second single "Every Move Every Touch" was released on vinyl and CD, and a special remixed edition with additional dance and extended versions was released.
"Back!" was incredibly popular in Eastern Europe, it topped the album charts, as well as in Russia and ex-USSR countries.
This re-release has been professionally remastered from the original digital masters to get the best sound for LP and CD editions.

The fourth full-length album by Melodic Death Metal band from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
An interesting album from Eastern European band. Branded as Melodic Death Metal, this outfit is not really doing anything like what you’d expect to hear from that description. This is definably Extreme Metal, but much more sprawling and Progressive than Melodeath normally gets. This actually reminds more than a bit of Enslaved’s more recent works. Some of the riffing is good, and the intricate songwriting sometimes manages to be gripping, but like all Proggy bands, this outfit cannot resist throwing in complexity just for the sake of it, too often strangling their momentum for no good reason and chopping the songs up into parts that don’t hold together as well as they could.
Still, a band with a distinct sound and undeniable talent!

The fourth full-length album by Swedish Heavy Metal band.
Jonas Ηansson, passionate Swedish vocalist/guitarist, has formed Silver Mountain in 1978 with compatriot Per Stadin, initially focusing on instrumental compositions of - the completely unknown by that time - Neoclassical Heavy tunes, clearly influenced by the mighty Rainbow aura. Jonas demonstrated a clearly keen-on-Blackmore style of baroque solos & melodies, transforming into a hard-as-hell riff work at faster tunes. Yet, it was not until 1982 - when the Johansson Bros joined the band (then playing in a Jazz/Fusion band called Slem) - that Silver Mountain started taking it more seriously (only a 7-inch single had been released, in 1979). Thus, the track "She Needs" was featured in the 1982 GS Music compilation "Skansk Rock". Still, it was a year later when the band's debut "Shakin' Brains" (1983) was released to leave everyone (fans & critics) completely astonished!
Before the deeds of Mr. Malmsteen (who was featured in session demos rehearsing with the band in that era, before even starting his solo career) Silver Mountain presented all the elements that the vast majority of fans now adore in bands from Malmsteen's Rising Force to Hammerfall and then to Stratovarius (in general, half of the Mid-Northern European bands). Baroque-ish yet still Heavy Power Metal, with a NWOBHM sound and Jonas' harsh epic vocal style that - judging from today's turn - contributed to (if not created) what we now call Neoclassical Power Metal.
Unfortunately, Anders & Jens left the band in 1984, joining the newly - then - formed Yngwie Malmsteen camp. The rest of their bio is well known. As for Silver Mountain, the band released two more studio albums (clearly on a lower level than the 1983 opus; still though very good) with a live recording in between - "Universe" (1985), "Live In Japan" (1986) and "Roses & Champagne" (1988) - and split. Hansson worked on various projects (Jonas Hansson Band, Legacy etc) and Stadin formed Snake Charmer (with the Johansson Bros, featuring talented vocalists like Pete Sandberg or Goran Edman), also participating in the Billionaires Boys Club project along with the famous Marc Boals, Jorg Fischer (ex-Accept) and Anders Johansson. Still, many rumors were circulating regarding a reunion of the classic Silver Mountain lineup, raising certain expectations about what this magnificent quartet would come out with in the 21st century. And so it happened! The result was "Breakin' Chains"!!
This release depicts what Silver Mountain stood for in the days of their glory. Without being any come-back or reunion album, "Breakin' Chains" features a set of re-recorded rarities (the infamous 1978 single, demo versions, session cuts, etc.) from the early 80's era, previously unavailable elsewhere. The band's performance is in high level and the whole scenario is smoking memories - the band's bio speaks for itself.
Recorded in Sweden, New York and Los Angeles, "Breakin' Chains" is proper for both the old loyal fans that memorize the unique songs Silver Mountain created 20 years ago, and the Metal fans that were never familiar with the band's legend and now have the great opportunity to clear out who contributed a lot to the definition of European Metal!!!

The third full-length studio album by legendary Irish Jazz/Pop singer.
The follow-up to the hugely successful "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" and her contribution to the 1990 Cole Porter tribute / AIDS benefit album "Red Hot + Blue", with a cover of "You Do Something to Me", Sinéad decided to cover some more standards and do something completely different for her third record. "Am I Not Your Girl?" is a collection of covers of mostly Jazz standards, which O'Connor describes as "the songs I grew up listening to [and] that made me want to be a singer".
The album title comes from the song "Success Has Made a Failure of Our Home". The album is dedicated to the people of New York City and especially the homeless, whom O'Connor met at St. Mark's Place.
The album did not gain much critical acclaim, perhaps because O'Connor had become a major artist in the modern pop genre due to her previous album, "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got", and this album was composed of songs written from 1936 to 1978. This, coupled with the Garden State Arts Center controversy and an introduction on the album in which she mentions sexual abuse of children in the Catholic Church, addiction, emotional abuse, and led to O'Connor losing much of the commercial momentum her career had built up until then.
The album's promotion was marked by a controversial appearance on Saturday Night Live, where O'Connor tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II. O'Connor's action led into a public and media frenzy. NBC received more than 500 calls on Sunday, and 400 more on Monday, with all but seven criticizing O'Connor; the network received 4,400 calls in total. NBC did not edit the performance out of the West Coast tape-delayed broadcast that night. As of 2016, despite the now well documented thousands of child sex abuse cases proving O'Connor's accusation, NBC still declines to rebroadcast the sequence, with reruns of the episode using footage from the dress rehearsal.
With highlights like "Success Has Made a Failure of Our Home" and "Don't Cry for Me Argentina", this record showcases much more of Sinéad's talent and showed that she was much more than what she had showcased on her prior two records.

The third full-length studio album by legendary Irish Jazz/Pop singer.
The follow-up to the hugely successful "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" and her contribution to the 1990 Cole Porter tribute / AIDS benefit album "Red Hot + Blue", with a cover of "You Do Something to Me", Sinéad decided to cover some more standards and do something completely different for her third record. "Am I Not Your Girl?" is a collection of covers of mostly Jazz standards, which O'Connor describes as "the songs I grew up listening to [and] that made me want to be a singer".
The album title comes from the song "Success Has Made a Failure of Our Home". The album is dedicated to the people of New York City and especially the homeless, whom O'Connor met at St. Mark's Place.
The album did not gain much critical acclaim, perhaps because O'Connor had become a major artist in the modern pop genre due to her previous album, "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got", and this album was composed of songs written from 1936 to 1978. This, coupled with the Garden State Arts Center controversy and an introduction on the album in which she mentions sexual abuse of children in the Catholic Church, addiction, emotional abuse, and led to O'Connor losing much of the commercial momentum her career had built up until then.
The album's promotion was marked by a controversial appearance on Saturday Night Live, where O'Connor tore up a photo of Pope John Paul II. O'Connor's action led into a public and media frenzy. NBC received more than 500 calls on Sunday, and 400 more on Monday, with all but seven criticizing O'Connor; the network received 4,400 calls in total. NBC did not edit the performance out of the West Coast tape-delayed broadcast that night. As of 2016, despite the now well documented thousands of child sex abuse cases proving O'Connor's accusation, NBC still declines to rebroadcast the sequence, with reruns of the episode using footage from the dress rehearsal.
With highlights like "Success Has Made a Failure of Our Home" and "Don't Cry for Me Argentina", this record showcases much more of Sinéad's talent and showed that she was much more than what she had showcased on her prior two records.

The second full-length studio album by legendary Irish Alternative/Folk Pop Rock singer.
"I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" became Sinéad O'Connor's popular breakthrough on the strength of the stunning Prince cover "Nothing Compares 2 U", which topped the pop charts for a month. But even its remarkable intimacy wasn't adequate preparation for the harrowing confessionals that composed the majority of the album. Informed by her stormy relationship with drummer John Reynolds, who fathered O'Connor's first child before the couple broke up, "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" lays the singer's psyche startlingly and sometimes uncomfortably bare. The songs mostly address relationships with parents, children, and (especially) lovers, through which O'Connor weaves a stubborn refusal to be defined by anyone but herself. In fact, the album is almost too personal and cathartic to draw the listener in close, since O'Connor projects such turmoil and offers such specific detail.
The first song on the album, "Feel So Different", starts with "The Serenity Prayer" by Reinhold Niebuhr. The album also includes O'Connor's rendition of "I Am Stretched on Your Grave", an anonymous 17th century poem that was written in Irish, translated into English by Frank O'Connor, and composed by musician Philip King in 1979. O'Connor's sings her version over the oft-sampled loop of "Funky Drummer" by James Brown.
The album contains O'Connor's version of the Prince song "Nothing Compares 2 U", which was released as a Single and was one of the best-selling Singles in the world in 1990, topping the charts in many countries, including the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. This rendition of the Prince song reflected on O'Connor's mother, who had lost her life in an auto accident five years earlier. The single "Emperor's New Clothes" found moderate success, although it did top the Modern Rock Tracks chart in the US.
The album was nominated for four Grammy Awards in 1991, including "Record of the Year", "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance", and "Best Music Video, Short Form" for "Nothing Compares 2 U", winning the award for "Best Alternative Music Performance". However, O'Connor refused to accept the nominations and award.
In 2012, "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" was ranked number 408 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. The album was ranked number 457 on the 2020 edition of the list.
