The debut full-length studio album by Serbian Progressive Heavy Metal band.
Healing from Belgrade, Centurion plays traditional Heavy Metal mixed with Progressive Metal elements and traditional Balkan musical motifs, with lyrics in Serbian. The band has existed since 2008, and they made their first studio appearance in 2009.
This album does not bring anything new if we look at it through a genre prism, nor does it push the boundaries of Rock and Roll in Serbia, but this album has quality, great songs and melodies, a great rhythm section and fantastic vocals!
Centurion's debut could be called a collection, in a way, because some of the songs are ten years old ("Odmazda" was included on the band's first demo in 2009), and some are only a year younger ("Ruka Sudbine", "Virtuelno Ognište" and "Hodočasnik" together with "Odmazda" made up the EP "Virtuelno Ognište", released at the end of 2010). The mentioned and other songs from the new record have been wisely put on YouTube one by one in the last year, so it can be said that the audience has already become familiar with the songs. Aside from the fact that Centurion has been considered a concert attraction for a long time, so their fan base is not small either.
"Centurion" is a great album, mature, high quality and deserves your attention. For many, singing in Serbian and ethnic parts will be positive things and what sets Centurion apart from other bands of a similar style. We have a very good and high-quality edition in front of us. The songs are good, memorable, the playing is excellent, the production is also excellent; so all assumptions are made that you can enjoy a good concert. The songs are quite long, but they never get tiring. Everything is varied, and you don't feel like you're listening to a long song at all.

The fifth full-length studio album by Italian Heavy/Power/Thrash Metal band.
A nation known more for their Metal of Power or Progressive nature, Italy's Centvrion return after a ten year layoff with their fifth traditional/NWOBHM inspired album, cunningly titled "V". Much has changed in the legions since 2005's "Invulnerable", with only guitarist Fabio Monti and bassist Gianluca Mandolesi enduring the band's decade long layoff. Joining at various times during that hiatus, the rest of the line-up is completed by guitarist Leonardo Postaccini, drummer Giovanni Pestolla and the real ace in the pack, singer Roberto "Robo" Cenci.
In a format heavier and powerful that we hear on Symphonic Power Metal, but without great efforts in using a instrumental technique, Centvrion have that same perfect balance between weight and aggressiveness we hear on bands as Accept and Drakkar, with a elegance permeating their heavy songs. The songs presents very good choruses, great parts with excellent guitar riffs, solid and heavy rhythmic kitchen, and powerful and excellent vocals (Roberto knows how to use his voice both on aggressive and low tunes, as on high pitched ones).
Their sound quality is fine, giving the right amount of weight they need, but having a clear insight. And it's enough for their songs take flight and take our ears and hearts by assault. All their ten songs (for "Caesar's Speech To The Senate" is an spoken intro, and "Burnin' Pyres" has two versions) are really precious, done with wisdom without losing that spontaneous feeling.
Many of the songs have clever intros where clips from films set the scene, but other than that there's no fluff or needless pomp such as choirs, strings or Himalayan nose flute orchestras masquerading as innovative. Instead, "One Shot, One Kill" bullets home through machine gun drums and an early Accept like snarl and snap, whereas "The Legionary" adds an air of Judas Priest to the mix. The thunderous and hooking "The Legionary" (a song with medium speed, good riffs and fantastic vocals, and what a wonderful chorus), the heavy "Non Omnis Moriar" (another song done in median speed, a heavy chorus and great work from bass and drums), "Eye For An Eye" (great song, another excellent chorus, and a bit more faster than the previous ones. And using a more aggressive high tunes on vocals), the burning catching power from "War Red Skies", and both versions for "Burnin’ Pyres", for each one of them have their own value.
Key to this Metallic success is Cenci, his vocals ranging from the bark of Udo to the scream of Halford, via a touch of mid ranged King Diamond and an urgency that wouldn't have been out of place in the Bay Area scene's 80s heyday. Add in an energetic twin guitar duo who bring real potency to the rampaging "Kommander" or "Nom Omnis Moria" and you're left with a real surprise package where this veteran Italian five piece serve up a real vintage hammering of UK/US Metal. However, changing pace in the middle of the album "Days Of Mourning" shows a delicacy of touch, beautiful acoustic guitar the basis from which Cenci eases through a heartfelt vocal.
Centvrion really hit home. That they do so ten times across V proves they are a band of real class who have taken the loss of more than half their number between albums in their stride. You may not know their name yet, but with this fifth album Centvrion have confidently and convincingly announced themselves back on the scene. Throw your hands in the air and wave the white flag, this lot ain't taking any prisoners!!

The third full-length album by Russian Brutal Death Metal band.
They are back with their new masterpiece of Brutality!
Cephalic Impurity plays leans more on the technical end of the spectrum. It sounds similar to bands like Severed Savior. The drums mainly play a lot of mid-paced rhythms that feature a great deal of complexity. They often feature the rapid drilling of double bass and the intense clattering of cymbals. However, they still manage to throw in plenty of powerful blast beats. The bass is quite prominent in the mix and offers up plenty of rattling riffs that help to add a thicker texture to the music. The vocals consist of a deep yet hoarse growl that again reminds of Severed Savior. They put on a nice performance and fit well with the technical nature of the music. As for the guitars, they play a lot of great complex riffs. Unlike most other technical bands, they have no interest in being flashy or showing off how skilled they are. They're only interested in offering up good riffs. They spend equal time playing rapid tremolo riffs and stomping mid-paced riffs that pack a lot of groove. They also play a lot of elaborate hooks as well as a few pinch harmonics.
Overall, "Eulogium For Incessancy" is a great Brutal Technical Death Metal album in the vein of Severed Savior. Very heavy, very brutal, very diabolical and technical stuff!!

The debut full-length album by russian Black/Doom Metal band.
Cerebrium was formed by Morok (Bog-Morok, Morguenstern, Shexna, Downgrade, ex- Vo Skorbyakh) in November 2014, along with his friend Denis Grin (drums). What Cerebrium basically represents is a pretty stretched mishmash of different styles incorporated into their debut album.
Misanthropic, depressive and experimental post-Black/Dark Metal perhaps would not even be an appropriate enough description for this stuff, but it surely comes close. “When I Am Dead” draws listeners into the depth of bleak and dismal Depressive Dark Metal from the very beginning and awakes not always pleasant feelings and memories – terror, death anxiety, various phobias, hysterias and mental disorders.
Music set to the most tenebrous and sorrowful lyrics about death and futility of life written by classics of foreign poetry – Thomas Hardy, Christina Rossetti, Robert Herrick, Wilfred Owen and others – is a high quality performed and recorded combination of hysteric intense Black Metal and melancholic suicidal Metal in keeping with the best traditions of such masters of the genre as Bethlehem.
Black Metal screaming vocals prevail on the album; however, the vocalist Morok is not a stranger to clean singing. Besides, the album features extreme female guest vocals performed by Morgana – the front-woman of a horror-gothic band Morguenstern. Her unique voice made the atmosphere of the album even more oppressive and morbid.
Strange and scary monochromatic artwork of the booklet contributes to the image of this original, authentic and potent material.
"When I Am Dead" is a solid album. Just give it a chance!

The first re-release of the second and the final full-length studio album by cult Swedish Melodic Death Metal band.
Ceremonial Oath was formed in 1988 as Desecrator by Oscar Dronjak (Hammerfall) and Anders Iwers (Tiamat). In 1991, Jesper Stromblad (Restistance, ex-In Flames) joined and they changed name to Ceremonial Oath.
"Carpet" was recorded at Studio Fredman during the second half of 1993. It was produced by Ceremonial Oath and mixed by Fredrik Nordström. The all-star  line-up on "Carpet" includes: Anders Fridén (In Flames) – vocals,  Anders Iwers (Tiamat, Dark Tranquillity) – guitars, Mikael Andersson – guitars,  Thomas Johansson – bass,  Markus Nordberg (ex-Cemetery) - drums,  and Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates) – session vocals.

Second full-length album by Polish Thrash/Groove Metal band.
The aggressively entitled "Cutthroat Melodies" continues the trend of muscular Modern Metal. Influences of Machine Head and Pantera are still audible, yet the band has developed a mature sound of their own. "Cutthroat Melodies" is a splinter bomb that scatters in your system. From the crunchy riffs of "Twinge" on we hear a spirited band at work. Vocals of Barton can still be situated in the rougher areas with a Hardcore edge, yet you notice that the front man did the utmost to bring in some variegation. Especially in "Prime Integers", the influence of Pantera is obvious, but a fine guitar solo adds a zest to the tight Metal. Also the next songs continue in this tradition. Guitarists Wodzrej and Dani again regale us with loads of beautiful soloing.
Chain Reaction will get where they want to be, they have the talent and the spirit. "Cutthroat Melodies" is proof of the aural power of the Metal riff.

Debut full-length album by Thrash/Heavy Metal band from Poland.
Modern, powerful, aggressive, but still melodic!
The album contains a nice mixture of fast guitar solo parts and melodic ones, which sometimes even remind of classical Heavy Metal. Otherwise the band is influenced by rather modern bands: Chain Reaction can be assigned to the New or Modern Thrash genre. They can be compared to bands like Machine Head or maybe Fear Factory. Singer Bartok prefers the metal- or hardcore vocal style: growls with still listenable dirty voice. But there's enough variety with high grind cries, spoken vocals or a melodic vocal part in "Stark Reality," which is accompanied by a clean guitar line.
While listening to the album it becomes clear that one deals with a really up-and-coming newcomer. Chain Reaction has got a quite unique style and "Vicious Circle" is an album which can not only convince fans of the Modern Thrash genre, but Metal fans in general!!

The second release is also a conceptual album, but unlike the debut, compositions do not form a chronological story, but are "novellas" connected by common ground.  Each track describes one of the characters - the titled "faces" are the ghosts of the past and memories, which are connected by the fact that they exerted a great influence on Chaos Engine Research members.
This time, the songs are more compact in their form, and the whole record is more aggressive and devoid of melodic vocal parts. This makes "Faces" a more "raw" album, veering towards Death Metal territory. It's still Groove Metal, but certainly more brutal and dark than the debut was.
Soundwise, it's definitely more of a guitar album. A lot of effort was put into the arrangement and preparation of vocal lines, so that the message is understandable for the listeners, even when the vocals operate in the registers of growl and scream.
“Faces” can be recommended for fans of Groove Metal bands such Pantera, Sepultura, Machine Head or Slipknot, but also Death Metal fans. In general, all fans of the heavier sounds should be satisfied.
“Faces” was recorded and mixed by Przemyslaw Wejmann in Perlazza Studio. The production is a cooperation of Przemek and the band. Mastering was done in Hertz Studio by Wojciech Wiesławski.

Debut EP from Swedish Melodic Black/Speed/Thrash Metal band.
Chaos Feeds Life is a side project from some of the musicians from Skyfire band, and naturally shares a very similar sound to Skyfire's earlier work “Timeless Departure”. This contrasts with catchy, Thrashy guitar work that sounds very punk influenced at times with a few epic leads thrown in for good measure. The contrasting styles take hold many times during songs, where you will find Thrashy Metalcore sections giving way for bombastic keyboard lines in the vein of Bal-Sagoth.
Fans of Skyfire should check this out, as a lot of their trademark sound is still present; albeit in a different package. A great EP!!!

First European re-release of the debut full-length studio album by cult American Heavy Metal band.
By early 1984, guitar virtuoso David T. Chastain had moved on from his Hard Rock outfit, Spike, to form the more Metal-centric CJSS with the intention of exploring a direction more true to his musical vision. However, before CJSS would go on to achieve success of their own, David caught the attention of Shrapnel Records founder Mike Varney, who wanted to construct a new project around his accomplished musicianship. The #1 prospect to front the band was rude girl vocalist Leather Leone, who, alongside Spike and CJSS bassist Mike Skimmerhorn and future Cinderella drummer Fred Coury, cemented the initial line-up of the new project, christened simply: Chastain.
A highly prolific writer, David had stockpiled a wide assortment of tracks to choose from for the band's nine-song debut, "Mystery of Illusion". Chastain's magic combination of David's anthemic songwriting with Leather's soaring vocal power opened the floodgates for the legendary careers for which both artists are now known.

The first Chastain album to feature Fifth Angel drummer Ken Mary, who replaced Fred Coury, after a suggestion by Shrapnel Records president and talent scout Mike Varney.
On "Ruler Of The Wasteland", Chastain leads his band through a set of well-penned and fairly accessible Heavy Metal tunes with such dramatic titles as "The Battle of Nevermore" and "Angel of Mercy". Lead singer Leather sounds like a female Dio - in a good way. Guitar geeks should stick with Malmsteen, but more mainstream Metal audiences will enjoy Chastain's tough, song-oriented approach.
During the same year, David T. Chastain also released two other studio albums with his second band, CJSS.

This holiday-themed album features a mix of original songs and classic Christmas covers, showcasing Cher's unique style. It includes collaborations with friends Stevie Wonder, Cyndi Lauper, Tyga, Darlene Love and Michael Bublé.
It is Cher's first album featuring original material in ten years, following "Closer To The Truth" (2013). Furthermore, it was also her first Christmas album.
On October 6, 2023, Cher released "DJ Play a Christmas Song" as the lead Single from the album. "DJ Play a Christmas Song" debuted at number 94 on the US Billboard Hot 100 on the chart dated December 30, 2023, becoming Cher's first entry on the Hot 100 since "Song for the Lonely" in May 2002. On the week ending October 21, 2023, the song entered the US Billboard Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart at number three, reaching the number one position six weeks later (on the week-ending December 2, 2023). On the week ending November 18, 2023, the song entered the US Billboard Adult Contemporary chart at number 22, attaining the number one position three weeks later (on the week-ending December 9, 2023). In the United Kingdom, the song reached number 18 on the UK Singles Chart. Alternative duet versions with Kelly Clarkson, Giovanni Zarrella and Belinda Peregrín were released in November 2024.
In Canada, the album tracks "DJ Play a Christmas Song", "What Christmas Means to Me" with Stevie Wonder, "Run Rudolph Run", and "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" with Darlene Love gained airplay, charting on the Canadian AC chart, peaking at numbers nine, four, twenty-one, and twenty-five respectively. "DJ Play a Christmas Song" reached number 53 on the Canadian Hot 100.
"Christmas" debuted at number 32 on the US Billboard 200 and number one on the Top Holiday Albums Chart with 21 000 album-equivalent units, from which 20 000 comprised album sales. "Christmas" was declared by Billboard the top-selling seasonal collection of 2023 by traditional album sales, with 133,000 copies sold in the US during the Nov. 4, 2023 through Jan. 6, 2024 period.
In the United Kingdom, the album debuted at number 42 on the UK Albums Chart. In the week of December 22, 2023, it rose to number 5.

First time on DVD, the first video album by legendary American Pop/Rock/Folk singer and actress.
Released by Sony BMG in 1992, it contained footage from Cher's two Heart of Stone Tour specials filmed at Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas in 1990. It featured tracks from "Cher" (1987) and "Heart Of Stone" (1989) albums alongside various covers.
The show was originally broadcast on CBS as a Cher concert special in 1991. It was then released on VHS and LaserDisc in the same year. In UK the VHS version has an alternative opening, the same opening used on tour. The CBS Broadcast version was finally released on DVD in 2005 with many extras and further bonus songs that did not make the broadcast but were included on the VHS version. The show shown on the DVD release also uses different angles and shots in various places compared to the original VHS release.
