The second full-length studio album by Swedish Melodic Heavy Metal band.
Formed by longtime members of the Swedish underground metal scene, Stonelake presents melodic Metal, which has a distinctly melancholy edge underneath its catchy, accessible surface.
All songs contain a good dose of synths; even on the faster-paced, aggressive numbers such as "Body Talk" and "Rest My Eyes on You". The band goes all 80's on "Magic Signs" in the vein of Dokken, but the staccato riffery and drumming belies the comparison towards the middle. There are also ballads on the album: "Words Are Not Enough" and "One Love One Heart" are both punctuated by cool guitar arpeggios, soaring vocals, and ever-present synth layering.
Stonelake's main duo comprises of Jan Akesson and Peter Grundstrom. They've known each other for many years, and this is obvious while listening to the album, since there's profound chemistry between them two. This Swedish band has already released one album in prior, "Reincarnation".
Enlisting the services of Jaime Salazar on drums, "World Entry" sees the quartet flirting on-the-edge with melodic Hard Rock the Scandinavian way. Pompous keyboards, high-pitched vocals from Grundstrom and furious guitar themes by Akesson leave the band on top of trying to perform something more than just Hard 'n' Heavy music. As if TNT, Journey, heavy Boston, 80's Deep Purple and Jacob's Dream would jam on a beautiful spring day. The album features various tempos and, of course, includes a very good ballad called "Words Are Not Enough". On the other hand, tracks like "Magic Signs" will nail you down at first hearing. The solo work provided by Akesson is quite notable, while Grundstrom uses his voice with much of experience; exchanging fury and passion anyway he wants it. To hell and back again: the use of 'personality' keys in this album gradually rises to be the strong ace of "World Entry". Some will surely see enough of a Dream Theater influence in the keys' arrangement, and there seems to be a very good reason for this.
"World Entry" is not a typical album, genre-free. It bears the unique charisma of, gradually, winning over your ears. Stonelake seems to be a rather hard working band in terms of composing/recording. And the question is: do you want to get away with this fact? Even Euro Power Metal fans will like this album!

Official release of the third full-length studio album by the German Power/Speed Metal band.
Shortly before the curtain fell on 2014, Germany’s Stormhunter self-released their third album, "An Eye For An I". Going through whole album, you really receive a true message of what Heavy Metal is, defined melodies combined with perfectly good vibrato. Entire album is a dance, a beautiful Waltz of two Metal genres, in which they float on the riffs and surf the majestic wave of New Wave British Heavy Metal sound. It’s fast, it’s melodic, it’s anthemic and catchy, it’s heavy and guitar-centric, and it’s Teutonic as all hell. The 12 tracks (spanning 48 minutes) are high-energy, with stout singalong choruses, buzzsaw riffs and ever-present melodies.
Singer Frank Urschler is a bit of an acquired taste. His vocals are slightly gruff and definitely limited in range. Still, he does the most he can with what he has, and has improved markedly over previous Stormhunter releases. And to his credit, Urschler is very distinctive, so you’ll know right away what band you’re listening to. Really, it’s a shame that "An Eye For An I" hasn’t made more of a ripple in Underground Metal circles.
This album should fit nicely into your music collection alongside the likes of Lonewolf, Elvenstorm, Paragon, Wizard, Stormwarrior, Blazon Stone and so on. It’s a high-quality release of pure, unabashed German Heavy Metal excellence from the heart, and it deserves to be heard!!

The riffs are sometimes fast and take no prisoners, while at other parts they are more Guardian-filtered. There are also enough Maiden-isque leads feeding the Metal fire, and the rhythm section is ample and pounding to the bone.
The performance of the band on this album is very good and well-organized. Manifests of Metal faith are in the menu all the time, and you’ll have a nice time listening to the “Stormhunter”!

The debut full-length album by Italian Horror/Heavy/Thrash Metal band.
Story Of Jade plays a heavy form of Thrash Metal, with some references to more extreme variants of the genre that are present throughout the album. The horror and gore themes of the music is immediately obvious right from the start, with the whispered vocals at the beginning of "Self-Inflicted Masterpiece" giving a strong hint to the lyrical direction of the album. As the first riffs begin, you'll pleasantly surprised by the grooviness in the music. This could actually have the potential to be a kickass ride ahead.
Vocalist Bapho Matt alternates between an high-pitched bark, Death growls and clean vocals, displaying his wide range of vocal techniques. In particular, the clean singing would probably charm fans of Glam/Shock rock bands such as Alice Cooper or Wednesday 13, with his style sounding like a more gruff version of the aforementioned vocalists. Throw into that the old-school feel that the band has managed to conjure with the nice blend of Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal and Rock 'n' Roll inspired guitar riffs. Apart from that, these are often punctuated with melodic Death Metal riffing patterns and pinch harmonics like on Afterlife Confusion, making the music all the more catchy and easily gets listeners to headbang to the music, despite the mostly mid-paced tempo that the band tends to move at. Songs like "Afterlife Confusion" even have a slight Iron Maiden touch, with the lead guitar lines reminding listeners of their post-reunion material, and this only serves to make things more enjoyable. The solos of guitarists Matt and A.G. are technical yet manage to retain that melodic edge, blending in nicely to the foundations upon which the music of Story Of Jade are built upon. Songs like "C. F. Virus S01" also displays the innovative use of guitar effects, with the guitarists using artificial harmonics to create a ECG sound effect. The usage of a child singing towards the end of "J.A.D.E." also provides that adorable/haunting dichotomy, messing with the listener's head. There are also heavier moments on the album, such as those on "H.M.K.M.", which include Crossover/Thrash Metal-styled shouting at the background, ensuring that the element of fun is constantly remains in the music.
If one ever wondered what 80s-styled Glam or Shock Rock would sound like if put into a more Extreme mode, perhaps Story Of Jade's "The Damned Next Door" could be the perfect answer, with the heavy yet melodic music present, and the horror-themed lyrics!

The third full-length album by cult Italian Heavy Metal band.
The cult band of 80’s Underground returns with the new album!
In the 80s Strana Officina had something like an insider status in Italy. They was one of a few Italian bands to surface in the early eighties, with a debut EP in 1984 and a couple other releases later in the decade.
Sadly, two core members of the band, brothers Fabio and Roberto Cappanera, were killed in a car crash in 1993, which of course was a serious blow to the band. However, in what must be one of the more uplifting stories in Metal, the sons of the two men (Dario, son of Fabio, and Rolando, son of Roberto) eventually joined with original members Enzo Mascolo and Daniele Ancillotti, and the band was back in action in honor of the two fathers, the sons even playing the same instruments as their dads did!
In 2007 "The Faith" album was released, a really strong effort to show the old songs new recorded with a better sound. This album is as recommended as the original albums.
In 2008 the band made the error to sign with the rip-off guy Alessandro from Molten Metal Productions/Wild Side Music for an LP-rerelease of the old albums. The owner of this "label" not only ripped off the band but also all distributors and mailorders, so this 2008 LP-rerelease is nothing more than a hard to get bootleg.
For luck Strana Officina in 2010 went back to MyGraveyard Records and "Rising To The Call" is again a great album recommended to all fans of Melodic Heavy Metal.From the vocals to the musical ability, from sound to songwriting, the album is for sure Italys strongest Metal release in 2010 so far, so all other bands have a peak to climb! Highly recommended!!

The 11th full-length album by legendary Finnish Melodic Power Metal band.
This release of Stratovarius came after a highly troubled period for the band in 2004, during which they temporarily split up following a nervous breakdown suffered by Tolkki. After a year-long hiatus, they reunited in 2005 and embarked upon a worldwide tour for the album, playing for the first time in the United States and Canada.
Stylistically the album displays a dramatically noticeable shift from the Symphonic Power Metal sound of previous albums: the songs are more hard-edged and slower, with Tolkki's signature Neo-classical Shred soloing almost completely absent. Keyboardist Jens Johansson's role is particularly restricted, as well as Jörg Michael's drumming, which features hardly any of his signature double bass playing. Singer Timo Kotipelto also attempts a different vocal approach, mostly avoiding his usual high vocal range. Tolkki has since stated in interviews that he was unsatisfied with the end result of the album, due to it being too far removed from the band's true style.
The album is the last to feature the band's longest-standing line-up which had been consistent since “Episode” (1996), as bassist Jari Kainulainen would leave Stratovarius later in the year, followed by guitarist and bandleader Timo Tolkki in 2008.
Album reached #4 on that year's Finnish albums chart and remained charted for four weeks, as well as #52 on the Italian albums chart, where it remained charted for one week.
