Debut full-length album by the Finnish Progressive Folk Rock/Metal band.
Finland's Rauta (which means "Iron") are a fantastic act that sings in Finnish, and Firebox Records introduce them to the world on this debut.
The band started to write their first material in 2003 which resulted in their debut album "Haudanmaa". Musically Rauta has several influences; most present are, next to Folk, Progressive Rock and Metal. This together results in a great mixture that goes from Metal to Rock to Folk and even some Jazz sometimes. Especially songs like "Liian Kaukana", "Veren Perintö" and "Morsian Pukeutuu Keltaiseen" give a special feeling with great compositions and variety of instruments.
Lyrically it’s of course not easy to follow but thanks to the great crystal clear production that gave every instrument some space to breath most of the vocals are good to hear. The lyrics handle subjects with a certain criticism against progress and the decadence of the western society, on the other hand they lean heavily on longing for nature, which is something that comes back very often in the Finnish folklore.
This is great album with beautiful compositions! A must for fans of: Lumsk, Korpiklaani, Orplid and the non-Metal elements of Vintersorg!!

The third full-length studio album by legendary British Heavy Metal band.
Released in 1983 by Neat Records, it was their last album outside a major label. Produced by Michael Wagener and Udo Dirkschneider, it didn't quite measure up to their classic debut, "All For One", but is a marked improvement over the second album, "Wiped Out". Largely credited with sowing the seeds of Thrash Metal along with fellow New Wave of British Heavy Metal trio Venom.
For those more familiar with the N.W.O.B.H.M., standout cuts such as "Break the Chain", "Take It Away" and "Mind Over Metal" help make this disc quite a treat!

If ever there was a band to walk hand in hand with Motörhead into war - it’s Raven. "ExtermiNation" is one of those albums you’ll slap on when you’re pissed off or feeling at a loss with the Heavy Metal genre, because not only do this terrible trio reinstall faith in the genre, they will pump your lungs full of lead, and get your heart beating on a diet of molten steel!

The fourth full-length studio album by cult British Heavy Metal band.
It is the first album recorded in the United States for the major label Atlantic Records, after the British band had passed under American management.
Although considered a very important contributing force to the emergence of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal, Raven's grip on musical (and lyrical) credibility was always tenuous. Pure energy and enthusiasm is what saved this band, and they still were an influential, but limited, Metal band.
Even with its highly mainstreamed feel and pop appeal, this album still packs enough killer, and less filler to warrant your praise. These guys had more individuality than countless others, and more talent. Get this if you are a fan of the band or style!
"Hard Ride" is a re-recording of the song from Raven's debut album "Rock Until You Drop".

Re-release of second album by Ethno Dark Metal/Ambient one-man band from Russia.
The music on “Oxlahun Ti Ku” is filled with atmosphere and primordial tribe-chaos. It can best be described as mid-tempo doom with elements of black metal and ethno sounds. Those ten tracks can be seen as the celebration and ceremonies of Aztec people and its language. All lyrics are written in this ancient language, with all songs being somehow dark and sacrificial. The sound is raw as it portraits the pagan nature, but performed with some power, energy and speed as well as the overall dominant beautiful melodies. The vocals are deep and guttural, sounding very ‘metal’.
Recommended esp. for the people who are looking for something new, something innovative and original, but also the fans of the whole Viking metal as well as the likes of Nile, Behemoth, Dimmu Borgir and so, will find this cd interesting.

The thirteenth full-length studio album by legendary American Jazz singer and pianist.
It was recorded in February 1962 at Capitol Studios in New York City and United Western Recorders in Hollywood, and released in April of that year by ABC-Paramount Records.
The album departed further stylistically from the Rhythm And Blues music Charles had recorded for Atlantic Records in the 1950s. It featured Country, Folk, and Western music standards reworked by Charles in popular song forms of the time, including R&B, Pop, and Jazz. Charles produced the album with Sid Feller, who helped the singer select songs to record, and performed alongside saxophonist Hank Crawford, a string section conducted by Marty Paich, and a big band arranged by Gil Fuller and Gerald Wilson.
Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music was an immediate critical and commercial success. The album and its four hit singles brought Charles greater mainstream notice and recognition in the pop market, as well as airplay on both R&B and country radio stations. The album and its lead single, "I Can't Stop Loving You", were both certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America in 1962, as each record had sold at least 500,000 copies in the United States.
The album's integration of Soul and Country challenged racial barriers in popular music at the height of the Civil Rights Movement. In the process of recording the album, Charles became one of the first African-American musicians to exercise complete artistic control over his own recording career. In retrospect, it has been considered by critics as his best studio record and a landmark recording in American music. According to Robert Christgau, the album "transfigured Pop, prefigured Soul, and defined modern Country & Western music". It has been called one of the greatest albums of all time by publications such as Rolling Stone and Time magazines.

We could say that Raze are Thrash Metal band in the same vein from Annihilation and Megadeth, being heavy and technical at the same time. But they have a more aggressive insight, without tearing apart a strong melodic sense that exists on their guitars. Also Raze have a strong personality, holding ground and keeping a good technical aspect in every single song. And they can become the greatest name on Thrash Metal scene from their country, because they are pretty good!
The sound quality is in a very good level, indeed. It's because the production gave priority to their melodic and clean side, but without taking out of the whole thing their aggressiveness. The balance between the weight and the aggressiveness is in a very good shape, so their music has all that it needs to be absorbed entirely by our ears.
All eight songs of the album are all perfect, all of them showing that Raze can be a spearhead for Spanish Thrash Metal in a near future. Eight Thrash Metal bullets straight to your brain. Razgate's latest album sees them working in that Kreator/Slayer vein of Thrash Metal, with a kick of Punk for good measure. They get down to business with precise and powerful guitar playing that's just loose enough to still be brutal and unforgiving, non-stop drumming madness courtesy of Iago Bruchi, and the anguished screams of Giacomo "Capo" James Burgassi, who sounds so close to "Divine Intervention"-era Tom Araya.
The songs are generally fast and furious, but there are points, like on "Grinding Metal", where they settle down into a rocking Megadeth-esque groove, that fits their style perfectly.
There isn't much more to say about this album, but then that's hardly a bad thing when it's all quality material, so if you like your Thrash to lean a bit on Punk, without sacrificing aggression, then this is a head-stomping good time!
Without a doubt, this album will be a big piece of sweet pie for all fans of Slayer!!

This is a perfect example of a modern Thrash Metal band with influences of what Metallica did after the “Load” album. Vocalist has a particular style and seems that he is part of the base of Metallica fans in Italy. Anyway, Reapter band has strong musical skills and they created dynamic guitar riffs carefully placed in melodic structures. Everything is around the guitar work. Band did an excellent work on the debut album, but they have to work and get an own personality before they become another band with the sound of Hetfield and Co.
Anyway, this is the good Thrash Metal album for fans of Metallica and Megadeth!!
