Modern industrial-tinged post-thrash band from Poland. But their sound really drives forth the dystopian connotations that spawn from their lyrics. This is a band that is clearly confined by the sound of what is popular in modern metal, but is vehement and dedicated enough that glimpses of drive and conviction escape the suffocating repression of overt groove/mall/metalcore impurities. Every track is a white-hot chunk of grade-A rage against the system and those that support it, perhaps not literarily refined to an Orwellian degree, but nonetheless potent.
Recommended for those who wish Lamb of God would pick up the pace a bit more and suck a hell of a lot less.

The debut full-length album by Italian Symphonic/Gothic Metal band.
Although the band may consider themselves Gothic Metal, "Deadalum" shows them to be more of a Symphonic Metal act with Gothic elements. They follow in the same vein of bands like Delain, Within Temptation and Leaves’ Eyes. Imagine all these bands mixed with Evanescence and Lacuna Coil, and then you get Revenience.
Their first full-length album is a very strong effort from the band. It’s a short but sweet album with 9 interesting songs on offer here. "Deadalum" is an enjoyable enough album. You can seriously feel the passion and the chemistry between the band and what’s even better is that they actually manage to make music that moves you such as the piano ballad, "Lone Island". There is also an incredible display of guitar work on here with lots of intricate riffs and ferocious shredding. And If you’re a fan of the classic Symphonic Metal acts like Nightwish or the more obscure Gothic Metal bands like Sirenia then you will more than likely appeal to you. This is a good release, not great but it has some very good elements and a singer that proves that she is there because of her talent before anything else.
Revenience are a nice surprise and something to lookout for in the near future!

The first re-release of the debut EP by cult American Heavy/Power Metal band.
Reverend from Seattle, Washington, was formed in early 1989 by vocalist David Wayne, when he left Metal Church. Most of the earliest band members, were recruited from a Los Angeles Power Metal act named Heretic (and Heretic’s vocalist, Mike Howe, joined Metal Church).
Led by David Wayne, Reverend recorded their debut 4-track EP in 1989. Each song is a meticulously constructed slower piece of Thrash Metal with Wayne's charismatic, haunting high-pitched sneer vocals.
Reverend released two studio albums, one live album and two EPs over the years.
Vocalist David Wayne sadly died from complications resulting from a traffic accident in 2005. To many fans, Wayne was a true Metal God and he is certainly missed.

The first re-release of the debut full-length studio album by cult American Heavy/Thrash Metal band.
Reverend from Seattle, Washington, was formed in early 1989 when vocalist David Wayne left Metal Church, and this album is basically a slightly heavier continuation of Metal Church on this album.
Most of the earliest band members, were recruited from a Los Angeles Power Metal act named Heretic (and Heretic’s vocalist, Mike Howe, joined Metal Church). Led by David Wayne, Reverend recorded their debut 4-track EP in 1989. After switching from Caroline Records to Charisma, Reverend provided their first full-length album, "World Won't Miss You".
Reverend's sound bring to mind Judas Priest, as well as Testament (without being as fast). The musicians on the album do not show off. They write some pretty basic Speed Metal on here. If you are into Progressive or Technical Thrash this album probably isn’t for you. Reverend doesn’t play odd time signatures or unconventional song structure, they keep to a very simple sound that is easy to remember and sticks in your head. If you liked David Wayne and Metal Church then this album should please you. The riffs and solos are better than Metal Churches and you get David Wayne’s kick-ass voice.
The production on the album is perfect. The music is crisp and clean. No instrument overpowers another. The bass is audible at times but not too audible, where it over powers the guitars. Every note played or sung is cleanly heard. There isn’t that muddiness that sometimes happens when too many things are happening at once. As far as production goes, there isn’t a flaw in the sound.
Reverend is another fine example of how a Metal band breaking up did some good, because had David not split from Metal Church, maybe we'd never get this. Although he probably wrote better songs with them (which says a lot, seeing how good this is), the actual playing and delivery is better on this record. If you're a fan of Metal Church, or mild Thrash and Speed Metal in general, this is an absolute must!
The album dedicated to the late Dave Prichard of Armored Saint and features Chris Goss (Masters Of Reality), Rocky George (Cro-Mags, ex- Suicidal Tendencies), and Damien Circle (Flower Leperds) as guests. 
For fans of: Metal Church, Heretic, Overkill, Anthrax and Meliah Rage.

The third and the final full-length album by the Finnish Symphonic Power Metal band, formed by Timo Tolkki, former ex-guitarist, songwriter and producer of Stratovarius.
Like Gandalf the wizard, Timo Tolkki has long been wandering in strange lands, trying to find his path back to the world. Claiming shock when the members of Stratovarius carried on without him (and resumed being badass), Timo sought refuge in his own project, Revolution Renaissance.  “New Era” was a mediocre release, and “Age Of Aquarius” started slipping out of the realm of Metal.
Well, Timo hasn’t redeemed himself quite for all of the poor to mediocre Power Metal he’s made, but “Trinity” is a big step up in quality. “Trinity” is the sort of Power Metal that you’ve forgotten that Timo once made. Pretty straight-ahead in its formula, this album has dropped former attempts at silly atmospheric and symphonic elements. The guitars are back, the tempo has been turned up, and the rhythms are strong.
The vocal lines sung by Gus Monsanto are very heavily reminiscent indeed of Stratovarius. Gus is definitely a competent singer, and his voice has a not-unpleasant edge to it.
Timo didn’t actually record the guitars on this album himself, because Revolution Renaissance split up before this album was released. Allegedly, all solos were performed by the producer Santtu Lehtiniemi. In any case, the quality solos are back, and it is a very refreshing feeling. This nostalgia for classic, conventional Power Metal is what makes “Trinity” remarkable. It’s one of the genre’s masters making a hefty stride towards a return to form. The rhythm is crunchy and tight, the leads dynamic and excellent, and the solos are superb!
All things considered however, that Revolution Renaissance and Timo Tolkki went out with a considerable bang. Honestly, we don’t know how long Timo can abstain from music and Metal, and harbor a hunch that he may return to the scene again someday.  Revolution Renaissance will always have a lukewarm welcome in most places, but it has been a most interesting project overall!  “Trinity” is certainly the most solid and pleasing of the three releases that Tolkki manufactured!!

As the keyboard wizard in the classic lineup of Yes, Rick Wakeman made Prog Rock history, and he parlayed it into a successful solo career. This collection features 1990s re-recordings in new interpretations of tunes from Wakeman's classic '70s solo albums. There's only room for four tracks, because in classic Prog fashion, the first, "Journey to the Centre of the Earth," lasts for over half an hour, but rest assured there are nimble-fingered keyboard acrobatics by the truckload to be found throughout this disc.

European release of the second full-length solo album by the Irish Classic Rock/AOR/Hard Rock musician, former vocalist/guitarist of The Almighty.
Ricky Warwick best known as the frontman for the Scottish Hard Rock band The Almighty. He has also performed with a variety of other bands and as a solo artist. He has recently risen to prominence again with his work as frontman of the Thin Lizzy spin-off band, Black Star Riders.
Following the success of "Tattoos And Alibis" (2003), Ricky Warwick returned to the studio armed with a boatload of new songs and inspiration. And it doesn't hurt that his patron saint is one of Hair Metal's finest crooners, Def Leppard's Joe Elliot. This 14-song offering is just what fans want and would expect from the man who learned to play guitar from listening to Johnny Cash records: alt Country twists with bits of renegade Folk, and drinking songs thrown in for good measure. Contributions from Elliot, Ian Hunter and Vivian Campbell help give "Love Many, Trust Few" a more polished sound than "Tattoos And Alibis", and at times Warwick sounds like a younger, more rebellious version of Steve Earle. It's not trailblazing music by any means, but in terms of personal growth, it's a major step in the right direction.

The only one album by Swedish Progressive Symphonic Power Metal band. 
The RIDE THE SKY groundwork goes back to early 2006 when drummer extraordinaire Uli Kusch (ex-Masterplan; ex-Helloween) met vocalist Bjorn Jansson (Tears of Anger) to exchange early musical ideas. When Uli departed Masterplan later that year, Bjorn and Benny asked Uli to drum on the upcoming Tears of Anger album. Impressed by the excellence of the four songs, that were sent to him, Uli himself returned the favor and sent them a few of his own songs. The genesis of RIDE THE SKY was in place!
This band created modern power metal aggression that is colored by AOR and progressive elements that help shape orchestral arrangements.

The third full-length studio album by Canadian Death/Thrash Metal band.
Riotor's third album is no other than a re-recorded version of their second album, "Rusted Throne", with a new vocalist Mikalcoholic and a new mastering.
Re-recording a whole album is a tricky move for every band. Whether it's one trying to prove they're still young (Diamond Head, Flotsam & Jetsam), one wanting to soften the distrust towards their new member (Exodus), or one who just can't sleep at night knowing that one detail on their album doesn't work (Meshuggah), one thing for sure is that the audience will rarely welcome them with open arms. Riotor fell somewhere between the latter two categories when, in 2017, amazingly decided to re-record their two-years-old LP "Rusted Throne" from 2015. Bassist Mikalcoholic stepped in behind the mic, so original screamer Ismarevil is, at last, comfortably resting his uvula...
Where does "Cursed Throne" differ? Besides the fact that the closer "Triumph of Sorrow" is absent for some reason, and this version includes a new mastering which emphasizes the old-school sound even more (absolute plus), the obvious difference is the voice, which is a more standard Black/Death-oriented rasp (think of a cross between names such as Okkulto and K.K. Warslut). So, it's depends on you which version you prefer to listen. Probably, for the start, better to check both...

Debut full-length album by Italian Thrash Metal band.
When you think of Italy you mainly think of Power Metal, but, fortunately, Italy isn’t only about that. Thrash has a big history upon Italian soil and Rising Dark are part of that! Fresh out the Thrash Master class, Italy’s Rising Dark are indeed a dark horse, where this band have been hiding?! This Thrash monster resides somewhere between some of Testament’s greatest output and modern day Onslaught!!
They were formed in 2005, initially covering Metallica songs (now why does that sounds so familiar?) and then begun to write their own material. In 2008 they released their first demo and afterwards did many gigs. “Apocalyptic” is their first full length release, which features seven songs.
The main characteristic of the album is the heavy sound, even in the parts where it isn’t fast. Although it is mainly Thrash Metal the album leans many times towards Power Metal and other times towards Crossover/Trash, with breakdowns and cutting edge riffs. After a nice atmospheric track there is “Armageddon” and here one gets a pretty good picture of what the band is playing: fast tempos, heavy riffs and some nice technical solos. “This is War” is a heavy track with groovy elements, up-tempo but not extremely fast. “The Bofoid” is the longest track, almost eight minutes, and this means room for diversity: many tempo changes, Thrash alternates with Hardcore, clean vocals with brutal and heavy riffs with technical solos (the band definitely has a thing for them). Next , there  the realm of Lovecraft, with the song “Yog Sothoth”, that kicks in slowly and atmospherically and continues with clean and brutal vocals (nice clean vocal melodies here). Towards the middle things heat up, but only for a while before the song resumes the initial rhythm. “Your Blood Is On My Hands” is the Thrash-iest song, with, heavy riffs and a fast tempo, almost throughout the album, and a nice guitar solo. The last song, “Phoenix” is a six and a half minute ballad that even it is nice it could have been shorter.
Although “Apocalyptic” doesn’t really offer something new to the Heavy Metal world, it is well played with a nice production and songs that will stick to mind. Rising Dark have all the means of greater releases in the future and you should keep an eye on them!!

The first re-release of the debut full-length studio album by cult German Heavy/Thrash/Speed Metal band.
Risk is one of the rare cases of a Classic Metal band finding successful new life with a change of identity and style. Known since 1967 as Faithful Breath, they released six full-length albums until 1985, evolving from Hard Rock roots to a heavier style more typical of their dayafter. Faithful Breath were no strangers in undertaking dramatic aesthetic transformations, starting from a male-fronted Renaissance-like Prog Rock band in the mid-70s to a Scorpions-esque and later Accept-ish Hard Rock/Heavy Metal outfit throughout the 80s. After an almost two-decade long career, they decided to rename after changing their style from plain Heavy Metal to Thrashy Speed Metal in 1986. Risk was only the logical continuation of that Metal-morphosis, already hinted in Faithful Breath's last song of their last album, 1986's "Skol" title-track, their peak in Metalness to that point.
Featuring  singer, vocalist and producer Heimi Mikus, who produced (besides all Risk albums) Morgoth, Despair and Raven albums, and  guitar player Romme Keymer (ex- Angel Dust), Risk existed to 1993. They are well known by the singular artwork in the first four albums, which contain cartoons of savage animals made by Sebastian Krüger (Destruction, Tankard, Running Wild , Sodom).
"The Daily Horror News" is a work of memorable velocity and impressive songwriting which immediately placed the band among peers like Rage, Scanner, Helloween and Running Wild. It's primarily Speed/Power Metal, but there are moments where they bite down a little harder for some Thrash Metal. The band's Classic Metal riffing influence obviously goes a long way towards making each track distinct and full to the brim with hooks, and the vocals of Heinz Mikus, which sound like a mix of Rock'n'Rolf Kasparek and the silky, grimier tones often adopted by Andi Deris through his work with Helloween. 
"The Daily Horror News" is a rare gem in the Heavy Metal history, recommended for fans of Agent Steel, Toxik, Rage, Accept, Angel Dust and Running Wild.
