The first re-release of the third full-length studio album by legendary Dutch Death Metal band.
After releasing the now-timeless classic “Consuming Impulse” in 1989, Pestilence was faced with the necessity of replacing a notable member, vocalist Martin van Drunen, following his departure to pursue a career with Asphyx. The band found themselves at the crossroads with an uneasy task, given the success brought about by “Consuming Impulse”. As it turns out, the decision to revert to Patrick Mameli as vocalist not only stood the test of time, but, in hindsight, gave birth to a trademark ingredient of Pestilence’s core sound formula. To make things even more interesting, Mameli stepped away from playing bass, from now on assuming the double role of guitarist/vocalist, and enlisted Tony Choy (of Cyinc at the time), adding another famed name to the line-up, and another anchor point for the band’s inventive nature. Alongside Patrick Uterwijk (guitars) and Marco Foddis (drums), they recorded "Testimony Of The Ancients" (1991) at the legendary Morrissound Studios, where it acquired a refined production, courtesy of Scott Burns.
"Testimony of the Ancients" is regarded as a Progressive Death Metal classic from the originators of the genre. In comparison with the first three Pestilence albums, the material wasn't as abrasive, the musicianship matured, and the band’s previously found innovate technical accretions, rose to new, ingenious levels. Mameli steered the band towards a more Melodic and Technical approach, expanding on the Death Metal sound of its predecessor, "Consuming Impulse". The resulting concept album, "Testimony Of The Ancients" contrasted Brutal Death Metal riffs with Melodic interludes. After each song on the album, there was an instrumental outro track. This attempt to push the boundaries of Death Metal, at a time when the scene was saturated with copycat "one track minded" bands, mirrored the efforts of fellow Progressive bands Atheist and Death, who released "Unquestionable Presence" and "Human" respectively in 1991, the same year as "Testimony Of The Ancients".
The album can also be seen as a stepping stone on the way to the following Pestilence album, "Spheres", which departed still further from traditional Death Metal and headed towards Jazz/Fusion.
At the time of the album’s release, the demand for Pestilence elevated as never before and entailed massive touring; noteworthy is the band’s lauded performance at the Dynamo Open Air Festival from that period.

"Nightlife" is the darkly orchestrated collaboration with producers Rollo, Craig Armstrong and David Morales, originally released in 1999. This Box Set features a brand new 2017 remaster of the original album. The album re-released with two "Further Listening" CDs, including exclusive, rare, unreleased tracks such as "Playing in the Streets", "Tall Thin Men" and "For All of Us", as well as demo versions of "Vampires", "Call Me Old-Fashioned" and "Radiophonic".
"Nightlife" is a loose concept album about nightlife, a collection of moods and themes, from love to loneliness. In that sense, it's not that different from most Pet Shop Boys albums, and, musically, the album is very much of a piece with Very and Bilingual, which is to say that it relies more on craft than on innovation. Depending on your point of view, this may not be such a bad thing, since Pet Shop Boys specialize in subtle craft and masterful understatement. Such skills serve them well when they're essentially following familiar musical territory, which they are on "Nightlife". At its core, the record is very much like Very - a clever, skillful updating of classic Disco, highlighted by small contemporary dance flourishes, and infused with a true sense of wit, sophistication, and intelligence. Pet Shop Boys do this music better than anyone else ever has, and they're at the top of their form here, but it's hard to shake the initial impression that they've done this before. Each individual song works beautifully, from the wistfully dejected "I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Any More" to the exhilarating Village People homage "New York City Boy," but as a whole, "Nightlife" seems less than the sum of its parts.
Unsurprisingly, the 100 minutes of "Further Listening 1996-2000" are equally varied, surprising, and sometimes just as good. Look beyond the demo versions of "Nightlife" tracks for quirky curiosities like the jazzy "Tall Thin Men" and seismically industrial "Playing in the Streets", and such forgotten gems as the shapeshifting instrumental "Casting a Shadow" and impossibly daring "Screaming" that sounds like nothing else from 1999!
If you overlooked Pet Shop Boys' mid-career albums, this, along with "Release" and "Fundamental" are worth a revisit – great value CD packages with loads of interesting and obscure stuff, including three rather strange ringtones that they produced!!

The debut full-length studio album by legendary British Synth-Pop band.
Immaculately crafted and seamlessly produced synthesized Dance-Pop, "Please" sketches out the basic elements of the duo's sound. At first listen, most of the songs come off as mere excuses for the dance-floor, driven by cold, melodic keyboard riffs and pulsing drum machines. However, the songcraft that the beats support is surprisingly strong, featuring catchy melodies that appear slight because of Neil Tennant's thin voice.
Tennant's lyrics were still in their formative stages, with half of the record failing to transcend the formulaic constraints of Dance-Pop.
The songs that do break free, the intentionally crass "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)", the lulling "Suburbia", and the hypnotic "West End Girls", are not only classic Dance Singles, they're classic Pop Singles.

The debut full-length album by the Irish Alternative/Garage/Grunge Rock band.
The band was formed in 1991 in Dublin and signed to Blunt Records (a label owned in part by Andy Cairns of Therapy?) in 1993. Their first EP, "Paranoid From The Neck Down", was released in 1993. After that band was signed to Roadrunner Records. "Black Mask" EP (1994) was released before their debut album, "Sweaty Handshake". Between these records, Blunt Records released a second EP by the band, called "Spent" (1993). Tracks from both EPs, "Paranoid From The Neck Down" and "Spent", was included in debut LP "Sweaty Handshake" released by Roadrunner Records.
On this album band manage kick up a hell of low-fi noise with guitars all over the place and vocals that sound like they're coming from the wrong side of a violent storm, but a resultant cacophony is surprisingly addictive.

The first compilation album by cult Dutch Avant-garde/Grindcore/Doom/Death Metal band.
The band from the Rotterdam area was formed in 1989 as a Death/Grindcore band named Bacterial Disease, and changed their name to Phlebotomized in 1990. They released two demo tapes, an EP, mini-album and two full-length albums during 1991–1997. Phlebotomized were known for their dominant use of keyboards (not like The Gathering nor like Nocturnus, maybe somewhere in between) and their rather experimental and complex songs (still strongly embedded in Death Metal). During their last full-length, Phlebotomized evolved into Avant-garde Death/Doom Metal.
This release contains their second demo "Devoted To God" (1991) and their mini-album "Preach Eternal Gospels" (1993). Both were recorded at Studio Het Pand (Lair Of Golgotha, Threnody) and remastered by Phlebotomized guitar player Tom Palms. As a bonus, the release contains three live tracks. Covert artwork done by Kristian Wahlin (Emperor, Dissection, Edge Of Sanity).
Tracks 1-5 is a remastered version of the "Devoted To God" demo tape;
Tracks 6-8 is a remastered version of the "Preach Eternal Gospels" MCD;

Pink Floyd had been inactive for several years, and Gilmour had said several times that the band would not reunite; however, the war encouraged him to release the track as Pink Floyd.
The Single was released on 15 July 2022, alongside a new version of Pink Floyd's 1994 song "A Great Day for Freedom". All proceeds go to the Ukraine Humanitarian Relief Fund.

"Hey Hey Rise Up" is the first new track recorded by Pink Floyd since "Louder than Words" in 2014. The fourth re-release of the thirteenth full-length studio album by legendary British Psychedelic/Progressive Rock band.
Originally released in 1987, "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" was updated and remixed by David Gilmour and Andy Jackson for "The Later Years Box Set" in 2019. By returning to some of Richard Wrights original keyboard parts and by re-recording new drum tracks with Nick Mason, producers David Gilmour and Bob Ezrin have restored the creative balance between the three Pink Floyd members.
"A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" was the first Pink Floyd album recorded without founding member Roger Waters, who departed in 1985.  The album saw the return of keyboardist and founding member Richard Wright, who had resigned from the band under pressure from Waters during the recording of "The Wall" (1979). It was recorded primarily on guitarist David Gilmour's converted houseboat, Astoria. The production was marred by legal fights over the rights to the Pink Floyd name, which were not resolved until several months after release.
Unlike most earlier Pink Floyd records, "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" is not a concept album. It includes writing contributions from outside songwriters, following Gilmour's decision to include material once intended for his third solo album.
"A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" reached number three in the UK and US, and outsold Pink Floyd's previous album "The Final Cut" (1983).
Remixed in 2019 from the original master tapes, the CD includes a 28-page booklet. The front cover features an alternative photograph from the original album cover photoshoot.
Rolling Stone described this version as "more tasteful".
