Debut full-length album by the French Melodic Death Metal band.
Pendact take inspiration from key bands of the Finnish Melodic Death Metal scene and makes their own sound out of it. Influenced by Children Of Bodom, Imperanon and Norther, these guys offer a fresh take on the style!
Pendact has survived the usual growing pains of solidifying a lineup and deciding a definitive stylistic direction to record a debut album. Though more of a melodic Death Metal band, Pendact falls within the Folk category for the most part, without loosing heavier influences of Children of Bodom. All in all it makes their debut a pleasurable listen.
The intro is a 2 minute opus that perfectly indicates what styles of music is contained throughout the album. It’s somber, it’s pretty, it’s Folk, and there is some Metal buried in there. By the time "Lies and Hypocrisy" starts, the only thing left to discover is the vocal style. Though strong, the grunt and gritty style isn’t anything new. As a listener you could safely say the vocals resemble that of Ensiferum, Children Of Bodom, or any other band with a similar vocalist. This isn’t to take away from the band. The vocal style is common, but also appropriate for this style of music. The album is just over 40 minutes and contains a wide arrangement of Folk and Thrashy bits; enough to keep things interesting from beginning to end. Songs like "Northern Star", "Last Judgment", "Silent Nightmare", and "Sacrament" are shorter and direct while "Betrayal" and "Lies and Hypocrisy" are longer and have a more epic feel to them.
Overall, the album is good and it is a strong effort. Band make great use of Folk elements with rhythmic and sometimes headbanging Thrash. Though their similarities with other bands take away a bit from originality, this will fade over time and Pendact will stand out more on their own with future albums!!

Perseus is a rather new band that after two demos found the time ripe for a full-length album. The band consist of ex-members from the Progressive Metal band Hastings and the Judas Priest cover band Defenders Of The Faith, and with that you can already form an idea of what to expect. Perseus combines traditional Heavy Metal with Prog.
The music is well composed despite its simplicity, and the musicians show quality on instrumental. In general, the songs are quite melodic and lean towards ballads. The more traditional "Memories" strongly reminds of Iron Maiden and the more modern "Bad Illusions" is definitely convincing.
For fans of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden!

The first re-release of the second full-length studio album by legendary Dutch Death Metal band.
While retaining some Thrash Metal elements from its predecessor, "Malleus Maleficarum" (1988), "Consuming Impulse" saw the band progress further towards the traditional Death Metal genre with Progressive influences; this can be seen as one of the earliest examples of Technical Death Metal, a subgenre that would be used and expanded on Pestilence's subsequent albums.
"Consuming Impulse" was also their first release with then-new guitarist Patrick Uterwijk, and their last one to feature bassist and vocalist Martin van Drunen. After leaving the band and join Asphyx, Van Drunen was able to shift his voice.
"Consuming Impulse" was the beginning of all things great for Pestilence. Introduced into Decibel Magazine’s hall of fame in 2013, the album marked the band’s shift from intense and raw-sounding Thrash Metal to heavier, more haunting and then-buzzing Death Metal. Not only then-singer’s Martin van Drunen's (Asphyx) vocals turned to acidic growl; Pestilence was boosted into international recognition, being at the forefront of the scene with Death, Obituary, Sepultura, Morbid Angel, Bolt Thrower and Autopsy.

The first re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary Dutch Thrash/Death Metal band.
“Malleus Maleficarum’s” history traces back to the beginnings of the genre; the album preceded Death’s “Leprosy” by a month, while Morbid Angel was yet to release its first album. The album was originally released on cassette by R/C Records (a sub-label of Roadracer Records, an American division of Roadrunner Records) and today, stands firmly as a monument of early-day Death Metal. 
Although the sound of this album is technically Death Metal, its direction is notably different from the band's subsequent work, leaning more towards the Thrash Metal genre with Punk influences, known as Crossover Thrash. Very Thrashy style with some hints to Possessed, Slayer and Infernal Majesty.
This is the only Pestilence album to include guitarist Randy Meinhard, who was replaced by Patrick Uterwijk prior to the making of their next album, "Consuming Impulse" (1989).
"Malleus Maleficarum" - is a band’s input, that stretches across nearly 40 years, blazed the trail for generations of Progressive Death Metal artists. A must-have for all Pestilence fans, and a perfect looking glass into the dawning of a legendary group!

The first re-release of the second live album by legendary Dutch Death Metal band.
One of the leading and most influential Dutch Extreme Metal bands is with no doubt Pestilence. Formed in 1986 by guitarist and vocalist Patrick Mameli and drummer Marco Foddis, Pestilence released seven full-length albums over the years, including milestones such as "Consuming Impulse", "Spheres" and their debut "Maleus Malefaricum".
Originally released as “Presence Of The Past” in 2015 by Marquee Records for Brazil only, it featured the cult performance of the band at the famous Dynamo Open Air in 1992 + eight bonus tracks recorded live at Wels, Alter Schlachthof, Austria, on November 26, 1993.
"Presence Of The Pest (Live At Dynamo Open Air 1992)" features the same Dynamo Open Air concert from 1992. As a bonus, there are seven completely different tracks, than on the Brazilian edition, which were recorded in Rotterdam, on tour with Monstrosity and Torchure the same year. The CD comes with exceptional liner notes from a Dutch Rock journalist, Robert Haagsma (Aardschok). Cover and booklet artwork by Arco Wolf  (Eternal Solstice, Phlebotomized, IDES).
