Annihilator's brand of technical, thinking man's Thrash Metal garnered many fans with this fine debut, arguably the best release of the band's career. As the highest selling Canadian Metal band, it would be fair to say that they have achieved a large amount across their long and fruitful career, having put out two absolute pillars within Thrash Metal in their first two albums. The band is renowned for the high level of technical proficiency across each instrument as well as their complex and catchy riffs and jumps between fast and slower sections in the blink of an eye. It was this formula that made such songs as "Alison Hell" from their debut album "Alice In Hell" so good, which would continue onto the follow-up.
"Never, Neverland" being a step up from their fantastic debut. The title track, "Road To Ruin", and "'The Fun Palace" are regarded by many as being some of the best tracks the band has ever put out, featuring some memorable vocal lines and spectacular riffing. The bass playing on these tracks is flawless, whilst the drumming is the stuff of legend, with some really Groovy lines. The sheer cohesiveness of this entire release is almost untouchable, and what is even more amazing is that the band's vocal work not only fits in with the other instruments, but actually adds to it. Coburn Pharr has a rather awesome slightly high-pitched shout and sneer that he uses for many songs, occasionally leaping between even higher shrieks and some lower notes to make for the complete vocal performance. "The Fun Palace" kicks this album off in spectacular fashion with some of the best flowing guitar work in Thrash Metal history. Whilst people such as Kirk Hammett just shred as fast as they can and abuse the wah pedal, Jeff Waters scatters various techniques throughout and lays down some beautiful melodies in his solos. This can be found on various songs. "Sixes And Sevens" shows great effect with a chorus that you will roar along to and stamp your feet in the most defiant way possible upon hearing a few times...
Comparable to Metallica and Judas Priest at their heaviest, "Never, Neverland" is a blistering gem that takes no prisoners. Much heavier than the many Pop-Metal units flooding the market in the late '80s and early '90s, it was one of 1990s strongest Metal releases. The true icing on the cake for "Never, Neverland" is its crystal clean but aggressive production job. The guitars have more bite than a pissed off Rottweiler, whilst the drums pound away incessantly without ever completely overbearing the mix. The bass is consistently audible, and the vocals are well-placed right at the centre of the production. This is one of the best jobs in Thrash Metal and really is the last nail in the coffin for almost every other Thrash album attempting to compete with this. If you are a Metal fan, and you have not heard "Never, Neverland", kindly do yourself a favour and listen to this, as it is a masterpiece of Thrash Metal!

The second full-length studio album by Italian Heavy/Power Metal band.
With the band's second album, we can see the small, various changes within Anthenora’s approach to their music. The music became heavier and fiercer, as its composers concentrated less on making their new release more 80s like, as it was on the debut. "Soulgrinder" delivers a well-done meld of Old and New School Heavy/Power Metal. The choosing of a rather more modernized sound made wonders for Anthenora. Furthermore, on "Soulgrinder", unlike on the debut, the vocals by Luigi Bonansea are better. Therefore, when it comes to the music, Anthenora served themselves well.
As far as the material goes, it is pretty much the same as on "The Last Command", the songs are chopping and crunching with the sense of Heavy/Power Metal. The themes did not change as well and that is the reason why WWII stories of valour and other fantasy epics are presented with pride, and it won’t ever seem to change.
When testing the overall production, it’s a different story, it looks as if Anthenora wanted to sound heavier and stronger on their new release, that is why they practised their music, under the 80s roots, while introducing a modernized sound. The result is obvious, hard crunchy guitars with hints and moments of almost Thrash-like and crude bass. The compositions presented are fast and speedy as on their earlier material, yet there are tracks that put aside the speed piece and spread out, to a certain extent, to slightly slower tunes. Through these slow tempo demonstrations, you would find it easier to see how these guys progressed as they use modern, joined up with old influences. 
Alongside the instruments and the rhythms, there is the massive improvement in the vocal district. Luigi Bonansea much better with his singing in English as opposed to the debut. As the music got a lot heavier, his pattern became rather crooked and raspy. Moreover, he became relatively fluent and emotional with the lyrics and listeners will actually have the ability to recognize what he is singing about.
All in all, the album is worth to be in your CD player. So, give it a chance and check it out!

Album features "I Am The Law" - a tribute the legendary comic book character Judge Dredd, and "Efilnikufesin (N.F.L.)", which needed to be read backwards in order to get the sense of what the band were on about. And it was a celebration of the life of the late John Belushi. Elsewhere, Anthrax show a socially aware side to their personality on "Indians", while "Caught In A Mosh" connected them firmly with their fans, who’d spend most of a gig moshing around in a frenzied elevation which was a depiction of the impact the music had on them.
"Among The Living" was the breakthrough album and sold close to 100000 copies in the UK. Album was certified Gold by the RIAA on July 31, 1990. 
This has to be Anthrax's best album that they have ever released. It has couple of the best Metal songs of all time which are: "Among The Living", "Caught In A Mosh" and "I Am The Law". Scott Ian and Dan Spitz are excellent guitar players. And Anthrax is also one of the best Thrash Metal bands of all time!

Classic Rock covers EP by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Anthrax have always had a thing for the odd cover. Search early albums and you'll hear their takes on Black Sabbath and Sex Pistols. Then, of course, there's the legendary version of Public Enemy's "Bring the Noise", a song that played a massive role in their success.
For the "Anthems" EP, they tackle six classic Rock radio staples from their teenage years: Rush's "Anthem", AC/DC's "T.N.T.", Boston's "Smokin'", Journey's "Keep on Runnin'", Cheap Trick's "Big Eyes", and Thin Lizzy's "Jailbreak". Beside cover songs from some of the band's favorite acts of the 1970s, EP features two versions of "Crawl", a song from their previous studio album "Worship Music".
The EP was recorded during 2012 at various locations. Although it was initially scheduled to be released as part of a Special Edition of "Worship Music", the record was released both separately and on a Deluxe Edition. It was released on March 19, 2013 through Megaforce Records in North America, and three days later by Nuclear Blast in Europe. This was the band's last release to feature lead guitarist Rob Caggiano, who left the band subsequently.
"Anthems" isn't a statement of some grand scheme to introduce their fanbase to six of their big influences. "Anthems" is about five guys, most of whom have been playing together for their entire adult lives, having a good time with what they do. While it's hard not to wish for a bit more, it's easy to admire what they give us and why, even if none of the above is as surprising as they think it is. All in all, "Anthems" is an interesting diversion while fans wait for the next album!
The “Anthems” received favorable reviews by music critics and debuted at number 52 on the Billboard 200, selling approximately 8500 copies in its first week of release. By April 10, 2013, "Anthems" had sold 14000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan.

Following the years of tribulations together, New York Thrash Metal legends have soldiered on despite the constant line-up, shuffling and uncertainty to come back recharged, refocused and more intent on providing the type of Thrashing material from their heyday.
Coming back together with Megaforce Records once again, the band’s eleventh full-length of original material and first with new guitarist Jonathan Donais (replacing Rob Caggiano) was originally released February 26, 2016 after a five-year gap between releases.
Being around for as long as they have, this here is pretty similar to what’s been apart of their sound for the majority of their career, which focuses on the tight, melodic twin guitar-based Thrashing, that’s featured here. The riffing is highly melodic and makes for quite a rousing series of high-energy riffing, that’s quite heavy while; also bringing along plenty of melodic harmonies in the vocals as well as the strong leads throughout here, create a strong sense of surging melody that compliments the varied heavier riffing. That comes from a selection of pieces that range from Hard Rock-inspired numbers, mixed with some mid-tempo groove to their traditional stomp-style, Thrashing that raises the energy considerably and even drops the energy level down into a more slower-paced crawl, with the addition of ballad-esque numbers that occur here. Which are also quite evenly mixed into the album as a whole. This is quite a dramatic variety that delivers on a dynamic level quite readily with this one, having such a varied, yet still contained feel and tone that carries throughout the album, as a proper whole, which makes for a highly-appealing time here, that offers up enough sections from each part of their career, that it readily allows for anyone to get into it.

Fifth full-length album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Anthrax returned to the studio in the fall of 1989 with Mark Dodson (who produced the previous album, "State Of Euphoria") to start work on their fifth album. Recording of the album was difficult, with a large structure fire causing the band to lose more than $100,000 worth of gear and their recording studio on 24 January 1990. Following this disaster, the band moved to a different studio in late February of that year to finish work on the album.
The album's tone is decidedly more contemplative and mature than the bulk of Anthrax's previous work. Abandoning the humor and comic book references which were common on their previous albums, the lyrical focus of "Persistence Of Time" is the need for tolerance and peace.
Reaction to "Persistence Of Time" was mixed, with critics and fans alternately panning and praising this darker sound. The band also introduced a Progressive side of the music which had not been present in their earlier work, while also placing a reduced emphasis on typical Thrash Metal elements such as fast tempo and aggression.
"Persistence Of Time" was the last full Anthrax album to feature vocalist Joey Belladonna until 2011's "Worship Music".
Album was nominated in 1991 for a Grammy Award in the Best Metal Performance category. "Persistence Of Time" highest position on the Billboard 200 chart was No. 24. It was certified Gold by the RIAA on January 17, 1991. As of 2006, album had sold over 275000 copies in the U.S since the beginning of the SoundScan era, bringing the total sales numbers to over 775000 copies in the U.S.

But these are still good guitar riffs. The guitars have a very filling sound on here. At this time, most Thrash albums had guitar's, which had a kind of flat sound, like it was there but it was just missing something. This album basically used all the space in the studio to get the sound right. The bass is hardly ever heard but when it is, it's very Steve Hariss-esque. The drums are very tight on this album, as well. On the last 3 albums the drums were a little loose and rehearsed, but on here they are tightened down incredibly.
Although the album contains some of what would become Anthrax's best known songs such as "Antisocial" and "Be All, End All", critical reception was lukewarm. The album failed to live up to the expectations, commercial and otherwise, set by the band's previous releases, “Among The Living” and “I'm The Man” (EP).
The album reached #30 on the Billboard 200 chart in late 1988 and was certified Gold by the RIAA.
In any case, "State Of Euphoria" is a great album and a Anthrax classic that every fan should have!

Re-release of the ninth full-length studio album and compilation album, in one set, by legendary American Thrash/Speed/Groove Metal band.

"We've Come For You All" was released on May 6, 2003 through Nuclear Blast in Europe and Sanctuary Records in North America. This was the first Anthrax record to feature Rob Caggiano on lead guitar and their final studio album with John Bush on vocals. The album was recorded over one year span at the BearTracks Recording Studio in Suffern, New York. The cover art was designed by comic book artist Alex Ross, while the production was handed by Scrap 60 Productions team. The Who vocalist Roger Daltrey and Pantera guitarist Dimebag Darrell made guest appearances on the album.
The album received positive reviews by contemporary music critics, with About.com crediting it for "getting the band back on track". Despite this, the album only reached number 122 on the Billboard 200, with first week sales of 10000 copies.
Re-edition of "We’ve Come For You All" also features two bonus tracks - an acoustic version of "Safe Home" and a cover of Ramones’ "We’re A Happy Family".

2004’s compilation “The Greater Of Two Evils” was made up of early fan favorites, recorded "live" in the studio over the course of two days. Covering their history from 1984-1990, "The Greater Of Two Evils" is made up of fourteen classic Anthrax songs the fans demanded by way of the thousands of votes from all over the world received on the band’s official website, anthrax.com. Based on those votes, the band entered Avatar studios in NYC one cold and snowy weekend and took a trip back in time to revisit songs from their formative releases "Fistful Of Metal" (1984), "Spreading The Disease" (1985), "Among The Living" (1987), "State Of Euphoria" (1988) and "Persistence Of Time" (1990). These classic tracks were re-recorded for the first time with John Bush on vocals!

The second full-length studio album by Czech Death/Thrash Metal band.
If you follow Czech Metal, then you must have in mind this Havířov-based band. Though being active for a relatively short time, since 2011, the ranks of this band are comprised of seasoned Metal veterans. Two years passed since “The Masquerade” debut, the band make its presence felt once more through a mother load of new
material, the calibre of which is equivalent to Krupp’s L/12 howitzer “Dicke Bertha”. The reference to one of the largest cannons that man has ever made is apt here, for theme-wise “Wareligion” will, in 12 tracks, take its listeners straight to the epicentre of the horrors of World War I, which came as a cruel disenchantment from the idealistic Age of Enlightenment and Reason to let the dark and utterly irrational side of the human character erupt in full.
“Wareligion” is not an album that will bring you happy thoughts, but that may actually be a good thing, for it may force you to muse and reflect, repeatedly.
