The second and the final full-length album by russian Gothic Doom Metal band.
The Sundial are dedicated entirely to the harder pace and go vocally and musically strongly towards Tristania and Theatre Of Tragedy. This is also the reason why the Russians are a bit dowdy, although production and fits the musical performance of the band are almost perfect. They also are not afraid, besides always prevailing Keyboard walls incorporate also original violin part, with whom they also remember from time to time to My Dying Bride. One should mention the many instrumental parts, some of which run through all the songs, only to be interrupted by the classic antiphonal singing again.
Even though no new approaches are available, this guys are already endowed. One can with good average Gothic Metal, which partially hangs in the Black Metal genre, The Sundial are really good!

Deluxe Editions of the debut EP by Brazilian Thrash/Death Metal band, led by Jairo “Tormentor” Guedz, former member of the original Sepultura line-up.
Tormentor (Ex-Sepultura, Ex-The Mist) is an author and co-author of the classic records “Bestial Devastation” and “Morbid Visions”, and having also collaborated on some of “Schizophrenia’s” compositions. 
The band also includes bassist/vocalist Alex Kafer (Enterro, Explicit Hate, ex-Necromancer), drummer Alexandre Oliveira (Southern Blacklist, Raising Conviction), and guitarist Marcelo Vasco (Patria, Mysteriis, acclaimed graphic artist for legendary bands such as Slayer, Kreator, Machine Head, Soulfly, and Hatebreed among many others).
The Troops Of Doom’s goal is to revisit the essence of ‘80s style Death Metal, exploring a more primitive sound that takes listeners back to that era, while remaining fresh and genuine.
“The Rise Of Heresy,” which features four original songs and two cover versions of Sepultura classics, “Bestial Devastation” and “Troops of Doom”, was mastered by Øystein G. Brun (Borknagar) at Crosound Studio in Norway.

Second full-length album by Spanish Death 'n' Roll/Stoner Metal band. Slow Death Metal with Stoner Rock elements and a lot of dark atmosphere. There are a lot of great riffs and many clean guitar parts, great bass and a very good drummer. There are a lot of keyboard themes and some percussion added. The voices are in Atmospheric Death mood and there are also some female vocals, always in Spanish. Their music is somewhere between Stoner Rock, Death and Roll and peeping to Death Metal. In some songs they sound like GOREFEST of the “Chapter 13”and “La Muerte” eras. The production of the album went some years back since it hasn't that polished touch that almost all modern productions have. And that's good. Overall “En El Silencio” is an album that, despite the exotic sound it has due to the Spanish language, is a fun CD that fans of 'stone' and Death & Roll Metal, with vocals that lean to Death Metal, will like. Not something new in the scene but it's well played and you can see that the band likes what they are doing and they are playing with their hearts!

The second full-length album by Melodic Death Metal/Metalcore band.
There are few bands with a common purpose beyond that of the music they create, who ardently stick to that purpose and become a genuine force for change. Animal Liberation Front supporters The Way Of Purity (all the members are vegan), are one such band. Their sophomore album "Equate" features ten tracks of brutally Blackened and detuned Metalcore with synth flourishes, married with empowering empathetic lyrics, all captured in a vicious bass-laden analog recording.
The Way Of Purity is a mysterious band. The musicians, apart from the female singer, hide their faces, names and nationality. They are convinced that in the future animals and men must be equal and they fight for this objective. The “Equate” is about this subject and moreover, it denounces one of the cruelest sins of our times: speciesism. That is a theory according to which men are superior to animals and justifies acts like vivisection.
After an EP, released some months ago, The Way Of Purity has recorded this new full-length that keeps intact the main features of the band. It is opened by “Artwork of Nature”, a violent, very aggressive track that mixes Blackish riffs, female growling vocals and a little bit of melody that makes everything more dramatic. In “Death Abound Everywhere”, Death Metal guitars are mixed with just a hint of Electronic, quite Groovy. “Eleven” showcases female clean vocals and they are really beautiful, warm and elegant; they shine through the record and are a nice change to the usual growl. The music is less brutal, a bit more “symphonic”. Generally, the songs are very short, but it's really good, because this way you can enjoy the true essence, the brutality without getting lost into details. Quite different from the rest is “The Last Darkest Night”, a slow/mid-tempo song compared to the others (apart from the usual Black Metal moment) and it has an interesting bridge.
The Way of Purity has managed to write an album which is catchy, but aggressive, which delivers a message but it is able to entertain a wide audience!
Recommended for fans of: Fleshgod Apocalypse, Your Demise, Purified In Blood!!

The fifth full-length studio album by American Alternative/Blues Rock band.
The album marked a distinct change from its guitar-heavy 2003 predecessor, "Elephant". With its reliance on piano-driven melodies and experimentation with marimba on "The Nurse" and "Forever For Her (Is Over For Me)", "Get Behind Me Satan" plays down the Punk, Garage rock and Blues influences, that dominated earlier White Stripes albums.
Frontman Jack White plays with different technique than in the past, replacing electric guitar with piano, mandolin, and acoustic guitar on all but a handful of tracks, as his usual riff-conscious lead guitar style is overtaken by a predominantly rhythmic approach.
"Get Behind Me Satan" entered the U.S. and UK charts at No. 3, ranking higher in the U.S. charts than their previous records. Rolling Stone Magazine ranked it the third-best album of the year, and it received the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album in 2006. In 2006, the album was included in "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die", edited by Robert Dimery, but was removed in the 2007 edition. As of February 2007, "Get Behind Me Satan" had sold 850,000 units in the United States.

Debut full-length album by Spanish Melodic Death Metal band.
Born in 2003 on the ashes of Scythe this Gran Canarian band has participated in many concerts sharing the stage with bands such as: Napalm Death, Destruction, Avulsed, Wormed, Incantation, Evergrey, Kreator, Lacrimas Profundere and Rage among others.
Inside the album is about the length slightly to forty minutes, which are spread over 10 tracks, heavily influenced by the Swedish Melodic Death Metal with strong features and parts of Thrash Metal.
The guitars are very strong here. Also noteworthy a brilliantly executed keyboards, as well as remarkable battery of Kuly Rivero. One of the strongest themes is definitely "Construct / Destruct", with excellent guitars and two voices playing each other in the middle of an orgy of guitars.
"Broken Link" contains some clean vocals, an air heavy, really curious and well executed. "Portraits Of Nothing" has a crushing drums and good vocals. "Nightscythe", maybe the best track on the album, have several changes of rhythm and guitars going fast to a much quieter time with voice perking with other records. By the end of the topic gets a devastating air. The album ends with "Slowly We Rust", with something Progressive guitars, more variety both vocal and instrumental theme, and beautiful ambient guitars.
Surely this is an album that well done, and this is a band with a quality that should not go unnoticed! Very good!!

Debut DVD by the legendary Swedish Symphonic Metal band.
The amount of content that Christofer Johnsson & Co. managed to fit into this DVD is simply amazing. From the very early days of the band, straight to their most recent offerings, "Celebrators Of Becoming" pretty much covers everything you could possibly ask for as a Therion fan.
Disc 1 is obviously the center piece of the package and contains a 2 hour live show recorded in Mexico, in 2004. Sound and audio are of the highest caliber and in contrary to many other music DVDs, the editing spares you the annoyance caused by quirky cuts and spastic camera movements. It is a well-shot and hugely enjoyable piece of work, with a superb setlist and a band that is obviously enjoying itself without end, and that is putting on an absolutely top performance.
Disc 2 covers the period between 2004 and 2005 and gives an excellent impression of Therion in a variety of different countries. Presented as a huge world map from which you can separately select each clip on offer. Most of what is on offer here is obviously bootleg quality, filmed with handheld cameras and the likes, but nonetheless really enjoyable and worth watching. The eighth full-length album by the legendary Swedish Symphonic Metal band.
As with many of Therion's other albums, "Deggial" features a choir and orchestra. Unlike their earlier release "Vovin", which seemed to focus more on vocals, "Deggial"'s style leans towards Hard Rock and sounds overall like "Vovin" with more atmosphere.
The first track "Seven Secrets Of The Sphinx" starts almost where "Vovin" ended. First 'slap' in the face - heavy riff combined with "accelerating" guitar melodies and just after.....those "typical" Therion's chorus falling from Olympia (women & men chorus voices following each other) Wow!!!
A start "à la" Maiden for the second song (on first track you could also hear Maiden typical melody style). The chorus (women & men) are back again and this time you have this feeling too hear Mozart's requiem symphony. Violins are great and the mixture with the "unplugged" guitar and this 70's drums sound leaves speechless...
Suddenly an accelerating riff announces the "entry" of "flute, trumpet, cello, contrabass". In two words, the orchestra arrives and confirming it has not been invited just to be mentioned on the booklet. The third song start with this feeling that first two songs have been mixed up; fantastic "simple riff" and again this women chorus starts to hit your brain. This unbelievable melody comes from heaven and seems to be totally timeless.
Fourth track till the eighth one confirms the first impression: A "comet" in the Metal universe.
It is not over. Song 9 starts with a "Running Wild's riff", unbelievable! The "Flesh Of The Gods", the title track, will hits you! Hansi (Blind Guardian / Demons & Wizards) starts to sing and illuminate even more this already wonderful album with his magical voice!
But, it is still not over! Song 10th start like a "typical requiem song" and Christopher Johnsson decide to mix the women chorus with a bombastic "double bass" riff coming straight from Iced Earth! Masterpiece!!
After a good Judas Priest or Immortal album, sometimes you want to rest in peace in your bed. Sometimes you would like to seduce a girl (or a boy) and listen to something more "quiet", but it has to be a Metal Band! Don't search anymore, Therion's "Deggial" has been recorded for this type of situation!!

The first re-release of the tenth full-length studio album by legendary Swedish Symphonic/Operatic Metal band.
The album title refers to the name of a supposed sunken continent, Lemuria, much like Atlantis. "Lemuria" is one of the two albums that Therion released in 2004, and definitely one of the best in their career. This album remains in high rotation and is one of only a handful of ever released records, which define a genre. Therion tone down the Operatic quotient of earlier albums and increasing the Metallic elements to reach a perfect balance.
Balance is probably the best way of describing "Lemuria". It’s paced perfectly, from the bombastic openers “Typhon”, “Uthark Runa” and “Three Ships of Berik (I & II)” which all feature sharp guitar work and varied vocal styles. The album settles down towards the middle – during “Lemuria”, “Quetzalcoatl” and the first half of “Dreams of Swedenborg” which boasts an absolutely brilliant guitar solo and is a definite highlight on an album so equal throughout. The album clears out on the positively brilliant trio “Arrow from the Sun”, “Abraxas” and “Feuer Overture” which brings the album full circle with a nice mid-tempo rocker. Also worth noting is the production, which is also perfectly balanced so that no element of the music is overbearing, allowing the strength of songwriting to shine.
Creating something this multi-faceted and cohesive, utilizing the entire tonal spectrum with more than 171 musicians, is an achievement in itself. Therion also obviously had a huge amount of material early 2004 when they set about recording their pair of albums. "Lemuria" in particular of the pair displays a strength of songwriting fused together to create the rare kind of record where each track both fits together as a whole and can stand on its own. That is probably why “Lemuria” is so good, and why isolating any particular track would not do the others' justice.
