Another first-rate Motörhead album, "Iron Fist" is the final one to feature the band's classic line-up: Lemmy, Eddie "Fast" Clarke and Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, as guitarist Eddie Clarke left the band on their second US tour due to a conflict with Lemmy.
Released in 1982, "Iron Fist" is mostly distinguished from its predecessors in terms of production, and not favourably. Clarke produced this album himself, whereas industry veterans Jimmy Miller and Vic Maile had respectively manned Motörhead's past four albums. Clarke's production is a bit sterile in comparison, with his guitar in the forefront, sounding slightly more polished than usual. These are minor points, however. "Iron Fist" is a fine Motörhead album, and there's not much at all to complain about here. As usual, the performance is ferocious and there are several standout songs ("Iron Fist", "Heart of Stone", "Speedfreak", "(Don't Let 'Em) Grind You Down") amid a strong selection overall. If "Iron Fist" falls a little short of its four-star predecessors, it's still in a class with those albums, at least relative to what would follow in the years to come. Sadly, it was downhill from here for Motörhead, slowly but steadily. Not until the '90s would they reach heights near this again.
The album peaked at No. 6 on the UK album charts. It was preceded by the release of the title track "Iron Fist" as a Single on 3 April, which peaked in the UK singles chart at #29.

The eleventh full-length studio album by the legendary British Heavy/Speed Metal/Hard Rock band.
Encouraged by a new distribution deal through Epic Records and his recent collaboration with old friend Ozzy Osbourne on his wildly successful "No More Tears" album, Lemmy set out to pursue commercial success like never before. Sure, Motörhead had flirted with accessibility before, but with 1992's "March Ör Die", the English legends shed much of their unbridled power and skull-crushing distortion in order to break down the radio barrier once and for all.
Needless to say, it didn't work in attracting new fans, and lukewarm material like "Hellraiser" (in a different version than on "No More Tears" - the song was originally co-written by Lemmy, Zakk Wylde and Ozzy Osbourne for Ozzy Osbourne's "No More Tears" album), the piano- and acoustic guitar-laced "I Ain't No Nice Guy" (a duet with the Ozzman featuring Slash), and a straightforward cover of Ted Nugent's "Cat Scratch Fever" ("Catch Scratch Fever" in original) had longtime fans gritting their teeth in frustration. Elsewhere, tracks like "Stand", "Bad Religion", and "Too Good to Be True" found Lemmy making a serious effort to transform his trademark croak into actual singing, and only a few numbers ("Name in Vain" or the title track) bear any vague resemblance to the Motörhead of old.
Three drummers participated in the making of this album: Phil Taylor, who was fired after "I Ain't No Nice Guy" was recorded (because he did not learn his drum tracks), Tommy Aldridge who recorded most of the material on this album on a sessional basis only, and Mikkey Dee, who recorded the "Hellraiser" single (the song "Hellraiser" was used as main theme in soundtrack to movie "Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth"; also video clip for this song was made with characters from movie). Another drummer, Garry Bowler (a.k.a. Magpie) worked on the drum track for the demo of "Stand" during a 1991 session in London with Würzel and Phil Campbell.
The album was produced by Peter Solley with the exception of "Hellraiser" which was produced by Billy Sherwood.
Motörhead have never just been the best Rock'n'Roll band in the world. They've never just been the loudest. Or the hardest. Or the toughest. Or the bad-ass-est. No... Motörhead are also a lifestyle! First remastered re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary British Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
Before forming Motörhead, Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister could boast of having been a member of Space Rock cowboys Hawkwind and a career in horsebreaking. He was also, to top it all, the son of a vicar. Having been expelled from his former employers after a disagreement with border guards over the contents of his luggage (it was drugs), he took the name for his new band from the final song he'd written for Hawkwind.
Together with Larry Wallis of the Pink Fairies and drummer Philthy "Animal" Taylor, Motörhead recorded a debut album that was rejected by United Artists Records, though it was eventually released as "On Parole" in 1979. As a result, the band expanded with the addition of "Fast" Eddie Clarke on guitar. Wallis then left after just one rehearsal, leaving the classic Motörhead line-up in shape for their debut proper. Rock & Roll had never heard the like. Though only a minor chart success, Motörhead patented the band's style: Lemmy's rasping vocal over a speeding juggernaut of guitar, bass, and drums. Motörhead returned mainstream Rock to its most brutal base elements - no wonder the Punks liked them.
Certainly "Motörhead" and "Iron Horse" are considered Motörhead classics, while songs such as "Vibrator" and "Lost Johnny" are but two examples of how few have lived the sex, drugs, and Rock 'n' Roll lifestyle more than Lemmy. Both Punk and Metal camps embraced the band's ballsy, no holds barred brand of Rock 'n' Roll, but Lemmy would have none of that, as then and now, he catered to no camp and simply made Motörhead music, which nobody else makes.

First re-release of the twentieth full-length studio album by legendary British Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
The first Motörhead's album to chart in the US. As with all their albums since 2004's "Inferno", it was produced, mixed and engineered by Cameron Webb in California. Though the bands spend most of the year somewhere on tour together anyway, Philip and Mikkey have mostly recorded in the US when doing Motörhead albums, as Lemmy doesn't really travel unless touring since relocating. His age and health eventually made this the norm for the band, and so this album was done the same as the last few, with a few weeks over a few months practicing, then into the studio for recordings.
"Motorizer" never pretends to be groundbreaking, but it is an engagingly predictable album. "Motörizer" avoids the bland Hard Rock that larded up some of the band's recent records. Instead, its 11 tracks efficiently clock in at under 39 minutes. Lemmy turned 63 that year, but he still sounded half his age.
The album reached number 32 on the UK Albums Chart, making it the band's highest-charting album in the UK since "1916" in 1991. The album debuted on Billboard chart at No. 82. It peaked at No. 2 on the UK Rock & Metal chart, and at No. 5 on the German Offizielle Top 100 & US Independent charts. As with the band's last few albums, it did not make a massive impact on the public, but saw dedicated sales in markets where they had a strong following.

The first re-release of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary British Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
Recorded by the original Motörhead line-up of Lemmy, Lucas Fox, and Larry Wallis, "On Parole" is famous as the debut album. In fact this album was recorded in September 1975, so technically this is the band's first album. It was supposed to be released in 1976, but the label refused to release it and it got shelved. The album was eventually released in 1979 to cash in on the band's success. Motörhead themselves have said that their 1977 self-titled album is their first official release. They have denied that "On Parole" was their debut album. Due to the record company's initial refusal to release this album, when a reconfigured Motörhead (featuring Eddie Clarke on guitar) were given studio time by Chiswick Records in 1977, they chose to re-record the album again in its entirety (only "Fools" and "Leaving Here" weren't re-recorded) leading to their self-titled release.
By 1978, Motörhead were arguably the biggest Heavy Metal band in the world. And "On Parole" didn't sound so distasteful any more. Countless reissues followed, and here is another one, released in 1997 as part of EMI's centenary celebrations.
No matter how well you think you know Motörhead, still it's nothing like you're expecting. The Motörhead that people know and love threatened to take on the world. The Motörhead here would simply have taken it over!

Though they are usually pegged as Heavy Metal, Motörhead are actually a Rock & Roll band in the purest sense. And this aptly titled release reminds you that despite their outrageous speed and ear-shattering distortion, Motörhead tunes have much more in common with Chuck Berry than Black Sabbath.
Rock 'n' Roll renewed commercial hope for Motörhead in the States, with Lemmy and company moving to Los Angeles. The fans in the States appeared willing to see this band live and buy their albums, whereas Britain is criticized as having lost interest in the band.
With the returned original drummer Philthy Taylor, the guys press the pedal to the Metal right at the beginning. The title song easily thrashes your brains out. Turned into a slavering beast, the following tracks sound even better. And they have quite something in them. The snottily thrashed out "Eat The Rich", which also was released as a Maxi-Single, more than convinces through an ultra fat lead guitar and the super great lyrics of Lemmy. Also, the rest of the songs provide you with a mega fat grin.
It was the first appearance of the band's four-piece line-up of: Lemmy, Phil "Philthy Animal" Taylor, Würzel and Phil Campbell, which lasted from 1987 until 1992.
There is a hidden track (01:02) before "The Wolf" where Monty Python legend Michael Palin provides some narration. Also, the re-edition includes two bonus tracks.

The thirteenth full-length studio album by legendary British Heavy Metal band.
Metal bands are supposed to lose their energy and power as they age, but Motörhead stubbornly refused to obey that rule, maintaining their string of tough, enjoyable albums into the mid-90s.
It is the second and last album to feature the four-man line-up of Lemmy, Phil "Wizzö" Campbell, Würzel, and Mikkey Dee, as Würzel left the band at the end of recording this album.
"Sacrifice" doesn't offer anything new, nor does it display a newfound subtlety. It's just straight-ahead, breakneck fast, ear-shatteringly loud Motörhead, with buzzing guitars, near-martial rhythms, and surprisingly catchy hooks.
The title track was used in the movie “Tromeo and Juliet”, a film in which Lemmy appears.
It's a thoroughly engaging and entertaining record from one of the most consistent Metal bands in history.

The debut full-length studio album by British Thrash Metal band.
Mpire Of Evil is a band composed of former Venom members, the most notable of which is Jeff “Mantas” Dunn, Venom’s founding guitarist, who has been off the Metal radar since leaving that band over a decade ago. Filling out the trio are Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan — who did an admirable (if thankless) job fronting Venom during original bassist/vocalist Cronos’ absence in the late eighties and early nineties, and drummer Antton (Cronos’s brother), who manned the kit for Venom from 2000 to 2009.
Regarding the band’s unusual name, the band was originally called Prime Evil, after the title of Dolan’s first album with Venom. However, the name was already in use by another band, so the trio scrambled some letters and re-christened itself Mpire of Evil.
The band play tunes somewhere between Motörhead, Venom, harder-edged Euro-Traditional/Power Metal and Thrash Metal, of course. The album boasts 10 brand-new tracks displaying the band’s infectious and groovy Heavy Metal assault, conveying Mantas’ thunderous riffs, a huge rhythm section and Dolan’s abrasive vocals into a monstrous musical holocaust, which will appeal to both, old school and modern Metal fans.
"Hell To The Holy" is a great start for this veteran crew. The band is tight, the production is punchy and Mantas turns in some particularly fine work. Mantas is a legend, and it is good to hear that he can still crank out some Metal. They showed that no matter the age, they can still kick ass and obliterate most of the acts of core lying around today.
Produced by Mantas himself and featuring stunning cover artwork by Gyula Havancsák (Annihilator, Destruction, Grave Digger), "Hell To The Holy" is without any doubts a “must have” album for 2012!

You may know this already if you are a Mudvayne fan, but the drummer describes their music as Math Metal, and you can see why when you listen. They use odd time meters, but they make it sound great. The guitar riffs in this album are awesome. It feels like the guitar riffs could just rip through you. The drumming is really great. Everyone knows when you hear a good drummer, because the beats are just really catchy and he's just got rhythm in him. The bass lines are great too. Usually you can’t really hear the bass in many bands, but the bass in this is great. You can really hear it. Mudvayne is really good at making guitar, bass, drums, and great vocals fit perfectly into one. Every member of Mudvayne is very talented.
The lyrics are very powerful and fit the music perfectly. Chad Grey has one of the best Metal voices. He can use a soft voice for the slower/less loud part of songs, then he can use yell his lungs out, and make it sound great. There's always those bands that have a lead singer who can sing perfectly to fit their music. Metallica, Pantera, Pearl Jam, Slipknot, and of course Mudvayne.
The album had major success in the U.S., debuting at number 2 and being certified Gold by the RIAA shortly afterward. It has sold about 800000 copies as of August 2006 and is the band's most successful album to date!
Overall, this is their best album, besides "L.D.50", which kicks ass by the way. Mudvayne is in the top of their class in Nu-Metal! If you’re a Metal fan then you should definitely get this album!!

The fifth full-length album by the American Thrash Metal/Crossover band.
Exodus described aptly the aesthetics of being caught in a Thrash mosh pit in their all time classic anthem “Toxic Waltz” published in 1989. Good friendly violent fun in store of all. In the case of Municipal Waste this punch line is automatically translated to good friendly violent Crossover fun in store for all. Their first three records were the absolute tribute to the Crossover genre, as it was coined in the ‘80s where a good number of Thrash and Hardcore bands were intrigued from "opposite" trends and infused them into their ways. In "Massive Aggressive" however, the band aimed for a more mature way of song writing and to the delight of a good portion of metalheads this transition was warmly heralded. However, die hard Crossover fans complained about loss of fun and immediacy by one of their favorite bands. "Massive Aggressive" was awesome in every possible aspect, however everybody knows that the band’s true game lies in their reckless oscillation between the Hardcore and Thrash extremes. Their new album, "The Fatal Feast", is nothing short of the good old Municipal Waste we all come to love and wreck our necks with, but with a fair load of wisdom from previous massive aggressive affairs.
In "The Fatal Feast" the Crossover wheel is hardly reinvented with respect to the band’s first three records. However, the acquired benefit of maturity from the band’s previous album is more than evident. Municipal Waste use their previously attained wisdom with the sole purpose of optimizing their "standard" Crossover line of business. In result, the whole record sounds like one big and homogeneous Thrash/Hardcore song that lasts for the overall 37 minutes of the record, as the musical diversity that made "Massive Aggressive" so distinct in the first place is deliberately absent. The homogeneity of the music is further favored from the flawless sound production, the best the band ever had up to now. Apart from the musical aspect, the band concludes a return to form in terms of its lyrical content. Municipal Waste have dressed their music with some of the most entertaining lyrics (“The Fatal Feast”) they have ever written in their entire career. The lyrical merit of the eponymous song is so powerful that it can single-handedly drive critically acclaimed actor Leslie Nilsen (RIP) to take a temporary leave of absence from heaven and film one of his notorious film parodies, based on all time classic science fiction and splatter/gore films. Holding all aforementioned attributes in mind, the record’s merit is fluctuating only with regard to the kind of sensation every fan group is seeking from its Crossover Thrash. It is excellent for the band’s future live mayhem, great for domestic listening sessions with fellow Crossover diehards under the influence of tons of alcohol and plain good for those who were sold by the unexpected musical diversity of "Massive Aggressive".
With their new album Municipal Waste make an emphatic return to the ensemble of attributes that made them such a fun to listen Crossover act in the first place. As the band's experimentation interval with musical maturity was used to make the new album's music more effective and catchy than in before, "The Fatal Feast" registers as a worthy addition in their back catalog!!
The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard new artist charts.

The debut and only full-length album by Brazilian Thrash Metal band.
Derrick Green, the frontman of Sepultura, found his suitable home with his new Brazilian band!! And this new band is much suitable for Green rather the awkwardness of the new Sepultura. After the great 80’s years and early 90’s (1991), Sepultura never recovered from the shock it has been going through and after Cavalera left, it went even more downward.
This bunch of fire breathing old schoolers led by Andre NM decided to rip out the roots of old school and use them for their Thrash Metal music. As they derived their style from Municipal Waste, old Sepultura, Kreator, Nuclear Assault and tiny winy of Slayer, these guys found their true Metal niche. Of course that with the help of Green, which fitted like a glove right from the start, there is no better way than to release a full-length debut.
And Musica Diablo have major balls of a music! They are gutting, chopping, killing and murdering with their ferocity, melodic rawness and mayhemic speed, all in the name of old school Thrash Metal. Moreover, the addition of old school Hardcore to the mixture is rather nice and has its fine edges especially on those raw grooves and diversity on the straightforward passages. In the end, this is a Thrash/Speed onslaught with the free willing of Hardcore, yep, American old Hardcore. Green is unrefined, evil and even brutal. His pals are very aggressive, yet showing great talents on their instruments.
Musica Diablo is an 80’s oriented band with a whole lot of attitude. It has everything an old schooler would look in a release. This band has every reason to make something bombastic and much more illustrated than their debut. But unfortunately, the band split-up.
Nevertheless, this is a good part of Thrash Metal history! Green, you rules!!

The third full-length studio album by Swedish Heavy/Stoner Metal band.
Mustasch is back on track with their fourth album (and the third full-length), after venturing out with a different producer for "Ratsafari" a couple of years back. "Powerhouse" is indeed just that, chock-full of fat riffs and great production values with a big, mammoth sound and the best set of Mustasch songs to date!
From the immense, chugging riff that opens this newbie with "Haunted By Myself", to the Sabbathy "Frosty White", to the catchy melodrama of "Dogwash", to the strong title track, to the most commercially-accessible, albeit Poppish and Rocking track "I'm Alright", Powerhouse is a keeper! There is very little in the way of mid-level chunks in the stew, as the slower and perhaps somewhat weaker numbers are strategically placed as not to affect the flow of things.
Anyone who likes big, fat, macho Rock with heavyweight riffs and upper echelon vibes, should check this out! Even if the band's vocalist sounds like a stunt double for Ian Astbury from The Cult, you can't go wrong with "Powerhouse". Excellent stuff!!
The album peaked at number 10 on the Swedish charts.

The second EP by Spanish Thrash Metal band.
Mutant Squad have been playing old school 80s - early 90s Thrash Metal since 2007. And now they're the most recognizable Thrash Metal act hailing from Galicia (Spain). Since the first live shows in their hometown, Santiago de Compostela, the Mutants have developed their sound constantly, slowly constructing their vision of an open minded Thrash Metal.
“Social Misfits” marked the beginning of a fast rise up through the Underground with a more primitive Thrash Metal based on the works of giants of the genre like Sepultura or Slayer while adding minor foreign sounds from Prog music or Stoner. This 4-song EP is a solid Thrash Metal with even a bit of melody that will have you banging your head. It's full of classic style riffs, pounding drums, quality vocals, influenced by some of the classic bands like Testament, Megadeth, Overkill, Coroner, Sodom and Pantera.
