The debut and only full-length album by Israeli Melodic Death/Thrash Metal band.
Formed by former Betrayer, Azazel and Betzefer members, the band is heavily influenced by the Swedish Melodic Death Metal, with influences from such bands as At the Gates, Dark Tranquility, In Flames and The Haunted, as well as old school Thrash Metal, with influences from bands such as Slayer, Kreator, Sepultura and Testament.
The album features few known guest vocalists: Tomas Lindberg of At the Gates and Disfear, Mille Petrozza of Kreator, Robert Gonella of Assassin and Ze'ev Tananboim of Salem! Also, the band's drummer on the album is Nir Nakav of Salem. Also the album was produced by famed Thrash Metal producer Harris Johns and Salem singer Ze'ev Tananboim.
Obtaining the services of Kreator and Sodom producer Harris Johns was also quite a coup, as his past experiences with these Teutonic purveyors of ultra-Thrash played right into Nail Within's desired Death-Thrash aesthetic. As a result, the band's material possesses a timeless quality which both hails back to Thrash Metal's untainted early years, while keeping a firm grasp of modern sensibilities championed by its direct byproducts: Death and Black Metal.
Short, powerful, crunchy bursts like "Inhuman Conditions", "Dirty Coloured Knife", and "Elastic" are prime examples, while longer, more complex compositions like "My Wallow" and "King Obscenity" manage to push the envelope a bit, using melodies and additional textures to great effect. Vocalist Yishai Swearts, though capable enough, doesn't really assert himself as a true force here, which might explain the occasional use of guest vocalists (Kreator's Mille Petrozza and ex-At the Gates front man Tomas Lindberg), but this isn't to say his diminished role detracts from proceedings.
All in all, Nail Within's was a very promising debut!

The third full-length album by the legendary British Death Metal band.
During the two-year interim separating "Harmony Corruption" from Napalm Death's previous album, the band totally revamped its line-up and its sound as well, moving toward the more expansive horizons of standard Death Metal. This move inspired quite a bit of debate among fans. It is the first Napalm Death album to feature Mark "Barney" Greenway as the vocalist and Mitch Harris and Jesse Pintado as guitarists, and the last with Mick Harris on drums.
Napalm Death had been, and will always be, the definitive Grindcore band, as exemplified by "Scum" (1987) and "From Enslavement To Obliteration" (1988), the two albums that practically alone defined an entire new style of Extreme Metal. However, the Napalm Death of those two albums is not the Napalm Death of "Harmony Corruption", not in membership nor sound. The band's vocalist, Lee Dorian, split (to join Cathedral), as did guitarist Bill Steer (Carcass), leaving only the band's rhythm section: bassist Shane Embury and drummer Mick Harris. Barney Greenway (formerly of Benediction) takes over for Dorian, while both Jesse Pintado (Terrorizer) and Mitch Harris (Righteous Pigs) take over for Steer. The addition of Pintado and Harris particularly opened up a new realm of possibilities for Napalm Death, and the band indeed stretches out musically. John Tardy, vocalist of Obituary, and Glen Benton, vocalist of Deicide, provide backing vocals on the track "Unfit Earth" in the later sections.
Whereas the sound of "Scum" and "Enslavement" had been characterized by one- or two-minute Grindcore blasts, the sound of "Harmony Corruption" is more expansive. The songs range from two minutes to over five, and Pintado and Harris often interweave their guitar playing into a dense, dizzying wall of sound that never quite relents until the album reaches its final conclusion. The guitar playing is varied and intricate here; you can hear the distinction between Pintado and Harris as they bob and weave around one another. This is much different from Steer's playing, which had been essentially a frenzied, distorted blur. Furthermore, the band performs full-fledged songs here, not start-stop eruptions of noise. A song like "Suffer the Children" would have been incredibly out of place on "Enslavement".
In fact, most of the songs here would have been out of place there - these are straightforward Death Metal songs, not Grindcore blasts. Scott Burns makes this all the more apparent with his crystal-clear production. The resounding question, though, is whether or not all this is good or bad. Napalm Death play like a tight, muscular Death Metal band on "Harmony Corruption" (best highlighted by the aforementioned "Suffer the Children"), which puts them within the norm for the first time and puts them much at odds with their former selves. Whether or not you favor a Death Metal style to a Grindcore one is a question worth asking, but the underlying fact of the matter is that Napalm Death are a new band here, one that plays powerful, albeit relatively straightforward, Death Metal. But only for this album. Their next album, "Utopia Banished" (1992), would spiral them off into a more experimental hybrid of Grindcore and Death Metal, which is where they'd remain for years afterward - out there, somewhere in between. All considered, "Harmony Corruption" is a bit of a novel album for the band, though one that's not especially remarkable in the big picture.
This is one hell of an album. From the great vocals of Barney and the brilliant drums from Mick, "Harmony Corruption" is a great Death Metal record with a strong lyrical message and fierce instrumentation. If you are a fan of Death Metal or even Grindcore then this album highly recommended for you! One of the finest albums in Napalm Death's career!!

The tenth full-length studio album and EP 1999, at one CD, by legendary British Grindcore/Death Metal band.

"Order Of The Leech" is the tenth full-length album by the band Napalm Death, released in 2002 through Spitfire Records.
The old dog might not have learned any new tricks, but that doesn't mean that it can't improve on what it already figured out. When Napalm Death started, it was one of the fastest guns in the west, whereas the intermediate era of the group ushered in slower tempos but higher levels of intensity. "Order Of The Leech" eschews the relative experimentation of the preceding "Enemy Of The Music Business", and instead it artfully combines the reckless alacrity of the band's youth with the lessons in extremities it mastered with age into a record that's the best of both worlds - blazingly fast, yet chock-full of interesting ideas.
Danny Herrera has to be considered one of the best drummers the genre's produced, as his performance here is nothing short of Dave Lombardo-esque in its power; meanwhile, Barney Greenway's vocals are overpowering as he returns to the band's roots of biting political and social commentary throughout the record, which shifts into fifth gear right out of the box with "Continuing War on Stupidity" and doesn't slow down for a second.
Although credited in the line-up, Jesse Pintado never performed. The second guitar is actually Mitch Harris overdubbing, hence marking this album's lineup as today's lineup.

"Leaders Not Followers" EP album features covers from various Punk and Metal bands.
This is a collection of scathing Grindcore covers, demonstrating some of Napalm Death's influences and offering a different spin on tracks written by Slaughter and Repulsion, among others. The EP is a quick burn, finishing with a six-and-a-half-minute version of the Dead Kennedys' "Nazi Punks Fuck Off"!

Now, 20 years later, guess who's having the last laugh (especially since the band has long been considered one of the first-ever Grindcore bands, and easily one of the most influential/copied Metal bands of the era)? And despite 2006's "Smear Campaign" being the band's umpteenth release, the band's assault-on-your-senses approach is still very much intact - particularly evident by singer Mark "Barney" Greenway, who still lives to scream his head off at every given opportunity (especially on such tracks as "Sink Fast, Let Go" and "Freedom Is the Wage of Sin"). Some artists enjoy reinventing themselves with each and every release. Not Napalm Death, which is reassuring in a way (you know exactly what lies therein with each successive brutal release) - and "Smear Campaign" certainly doesn't disappoint.
“Smear Campaign” shows Napalm Death from their probably most political side, attacking the re-born evangelic Christians in the US and all that falseness and fanaticism that comes with it. With “Smear Campaign” Napalm musically kept pretty much on track with “The Code is Red… Long Live the Code”, maybe a little bit more chunky Crust parts here, also production-wise this album is top notch and Grindcore hasn’t sounded better up until this stunning album. Just listen to “When All Is Said and Done” and you will immediately agree! The list of great albums Napalm Death created in their career so far is really impressive and hopefully will continue for many years to come. In my opinion they will always be leaders, not followers!!

The sixth full-length studio album by cult Swedish Glam Metal band.
Hailing from Sweden in the late 80s, Nasty Idols were the Scandinavian answer to Mötley Crüe, a no-holds-barred Sleaze Rock outfit that fit perfectly into the LA Sunset Strip vein.
Formed in Malmö in 1987 by vocalist Andy Pierce and bassist Dick Qwarfort, Nasty Idols released their first single, "Don't Walk From Love", the following year. The band's debut album, "Gigolos On Parole", came out in 1989, earning them the status of one of the hottest new Rock acts in Scandinavia. Their second album, "Cruel Intention", was recorded in 1990 between gigs and tours, just as the L.A Sleaze/Glam Rock scene was at its peak. Following the release of "Cruel Intention" in 1991, Nasty Idols became icons in the genre and their music videos for "Cool Way Of Living", "Can't Get Ya' Off My Mind" and "Trashed N' Dirty" were in rotation on MTV's "Headbangers Ball".
While other bands in the genre were breaking up in the wake of Grunge's rise and "Hair" Metal's loss of popularity, Nasty Idols carried on with their Rock 'n' Roll crusade and released "Vicious" in 1993. The album spawned two music videos, "Heads Down In Tinseltown" and "Ain't Got Nothing".
Nasty Idols disbanded in 1995, following the recording of their fourth album, "The Fourth Reich". The album was released only in 2002 by Perris Records, under the revised name "Heroes For Sale", as the band's original label (HSM) had gone bankrupt back in 1994.
The band eventually reunited in 2006 for the Rejects On The Road Tour and issued a comeback album, "Boys Town", in 2009. Their final studio album, "Kalifornia", came out in 2012. It was recorded at Los Angeles, California.
Vocalist Andy Pierce (real name: Anders Persson) died December 5, 2013, after suffering a brain hemorrhage, at the home of his girlfriend in Denmark. He was 45 years old.
"Kalifornia" brings a fresh sound with good memories from the Sunset Strip area, it has rudeness, uncompromised and with balls. "Kalifornia" is an album that every 80s/90s Mötley Crüe fan should own and enjoy!!

The first European release on CD of the debut full-length studio album by cult American Thrash Metal band.
Nasty Savage was formed in 1983 by vocalist "Nasty" Ronnie Galletti in Brandon, Florida. Their "Wage Of Mayhem" demo took the Underground by storm in 1984, prompting Brian Slagel to sign them to Metal Blade Records, and in 1985 they went into Morrisound Studios with Tom Morris and cut this Metal classic.
The band rose to popularity primarily due to Ronnie’s over-the-top stage show performances (in early shows, Ronnie would smash television sets over his head) and the band’s relentless efforts to keep its music as uncommon as possible. After releasing three albums and one EP, between 1985 and 1989 they broke up. After there had been speculation about a reunion for some time, their last studio album to date, "Psycho Psycho", was released in the spring of 2004, and the band played occasional live shows before disbanding for the second time in 2012. In January 2016, it was reported that Nasty Savage had once again reformed and were working on a new album, which has since been slowly in progress. The band has undergone various line-up changes, with Galletti and guitarist David Austin remaining the only constant members, until the latter's departure in 2022. Nasty Savage were extremely influential in the emergence of the Florida Death Metal scene, inspiring bands such as Death and Obituary.
For those unfamiliar with the band, they seem to defy categorization, as they incorporated elements of most prevailing styles at the time. Basically, if you're into the whole mid-80s scene, when genres didn't matter as much as whether the music rocked, you'll like this album, because it fucking rocks!

Debut full-length solo album by American Progressive Metal/Rock/Jazz-Fusion musician.
The brand new release from keyboard player/bassist/composer and video game developer Nathan Frost. Also on board for this wild Prog/Jazz-Fusion affair are: keyboardist Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater, Planet X, Yngwie Malmsteen), drummers Virgil Donati (PlanetX, Steve Vai, Allan Holdsworth) & Marco Minnemann (Tony MacAlpine, Kreator, Paul Gilbert, Mike Keneally), guitarists Marco Sfogli (James LaBrie, Creation's End, Jordan Rudess, Alex Argento) & Taka Minamino (Derek Sherinian) and violinist Rosemars Siemens.
Six tracks in total on "Synecron", and it's a high spirited, exciting ride from start to finish, as each song clocks in at over 6+ minutes and allows for plenty of sizzling performances from the players. The opening & closing "Empire Rising, 2000 AM" and "Empire Rising, 505 AD" are basically the same song, but with Donati on one and Minnemann on the other. Each track has subtle differences, but if it's a torrid ride through dazzling Heavy Fusion you are looking for, you've come to the right place. Frost, and even Sherinian on this one, deliver some stunning keyboard lines, and look for hot guitar licks from both Sfogli & Minamino plus plenty of drum acrobatics. "Singularity" is another winner, plenty melodic and complete with addicting keyboard hooks, scorching guitar, and impressive drum fills from Donati. Frost shows his prowess on the bass during the more atmospheric & majestic Prog Rock track "Empire Falling". This one also features some commanding Hammond organ, intricate drums courtesy of Minnemann, and Rosemars' haunting violin, not to mention some shredding guitar by Mr. Minamino. The lovely "Samsaara" is all Frost, who displays a deft touch on the piano, while "Consilience" is a crunchy, groove laden Progressive Metal juggernaut. Minamino's thick riffs play off some nimble synth melodies from Frost, until the guitarist unleashes and gets into a duel with the keyboard wiz as Minnemann lays down some jaw dropping fills underneath.
Pretty impressive stuff here from a guy we'll be hearing much more from in the very near future. Having such an all star cast around certainly doesn't hurt, but Nathan Frost has the musical chops as well as the songwriting skills to be a player on the instrumental Progressive Metal/Jazz-Fusion scene!

First EP by Finnish Thrash Metal band.
National Napalm Syndicate (or just N.N.S., as they were also known) was one of the first Finnish Speed/Thrash Metal bands to emerge in the first wave of this particular genre, back in 1986, along with A.R.G., Stone, Airdash, Warmath, Protected Illusion, Oppression, Terrific Verdict and a few others. With different line-ups, they have recorded three full-length studio albums, two split-releases as well as six demos!
Lex Talionis is a 5-track EP from these northernmost napalm syndicates and it introduces a new line-up and a couple of new cuts, plus a couple of cover songs and even an old song taken from the band's 1988 demo. Three of the original members remain: Aku Raaska on vocals, Jukka Kyrö on guitar and Pasi Pauanne on drums (who quit after the band's 1989 debut).
The boys in N.N.S. still know how to Thrash! The older they get, the angrier they become, it seems. "The Church of the Rat" is basically a straightforward, in-your-face Thrash Metal song, going for your throat like a vicious hungry beast after fresh meat. "Planet Satan" is clearly the better of the two new songs. It is more advanced and complex - and heavy as f**k. As for the covers, both bands Vivisektio and KTMK were popular Hardcore-Punk bands, back in the 80s, which came from the Northern part of Finland just like N.N.S. "My Pudasjärvi" (Pudasjärvi is the town where N.N.S. is from) is obviously Nuclear Assault's "My America" but just with a modified title. It's been recorded on a 4-track and it sounds like it.
Semi-legendary Finnish Thrashers N.N.S. are back and time will tell if the wait will be worth it. This EP has relatively optimistic!

The fourth full-length album by Swedish Atmospheric Folk/Viking/Black Metal one-man band.
Nattsmyg have changed their game with this album, the more rustic ventures that precede sound almost clumsy in comparison and in the event, categorization has become more difficult. The Folk/Viking influence of previous works is less obvious as “Fylgja” wafts across a number of borders, you'll need to sink all your darts in the genre dartboard to be able to put your finger anywhere near a definition of the sound. The vocals, both the dream state female and the snarling male that are pushed to the fore on this album. Linn Carlshaf stand for the beautiful female vocals and Dan Heikenberg for the raw vocals. The music itself tends to be a canvas upon which they paint their picture. The beastly side of the vocals aren't used as a counterpoint apart from when they join together, whereupon the juxtaposition works well, more usually they are separated by an instrumental bridge so that they stand on their own ground. There are sections of strong male clean singing too.
Whilst the music is used to carry the vocals, it is by no means buried; it just tends to flow below them. There are varying dynamics at play, at times progress is sprightly but more often the instrumentation ripples along like wheat in a breeze. The atmosphere conjured is one that suggests a fantasy film score, there is an epic nature to it and drama drips from most of these songs, pastoral pictures are painted and when the ordnance is brought out by way of thumping bass drum and juddering guitar, those rolling hills are broken by majestic mountains. The compositions sound quite simple at first listen but this is a foil, repetition quickly reveals an undercurrent eddying with embellishment. Often this comes courtesy of the keyboards that add in woodwind melodies that take you back to less complicate times and that add warmth to an album that already has a glow.
To remind you that this is a Metal album, the guitar maintains a presence. Whilst the drums never attempt to steal the show, they often introduce a persistent pummel, especially when accompanying the moments when the guitar becomes more insistent. Ultimately, the Metal is never far away.
A well-produced album that includes both English and Swedish lyrics. “Fylgja” has a magic of its own, it will certainly appeal to more than just Metalheads!

The third full-length album by Italian Modern Gothic Rock/Metal band.
This band has left behind the Glam Metal, and has started to mix something a little more strange, making a statement that they do not want to be classified in just one style, they want to be their own style, even when that is indeed the new fashion in music industry.
“Addicted To decadence” is a mixture of Metal, Gothic and Rock elements, not to mention that Scandinavian air the band has been breathing for years. The album was produced in Göteborg at the Arnold Lindberg's studio (In Flames, Hardcore Superstar, Evergrey). The production is perfect; all the instruments are heard in a spectacular way, the synthesizers are very well produced, making that Scandinavian atmosphere, with a little joy, catchiness and sometimes cheesy parts, the musical part, is normal, nothing to highlight, not because they do this bad, but the musical complex they choose is made for that: for a whole, not for parts, and even if it is very commercial, sounds good and is very well done.
This is an album you could prove, it may not be life changing, but surely will make you pass a good time, guaranteed!

Andrea Nebel (born Andrea Meyer), known under her artist name of Nebelhexë, is a recording artist, writer, actress and model. Her artistic expressions are of a dark and psychological nature. She has mesmerized the Alternative music scene since 1994. Her early love for British Gothic, New Wave and underground music brought her to London in 1990 where she soon became part of the subculture scenes. Always searching, and always having had a fascination for the supernatural, life’s mysteries and animals, she connected with various magic / pagan / witch circles. Seeking to explore and upgrade the understanding for the shadow side of the self, Andrea was soon involved with notorious magical and artistic performances.
