Paradise Lost's career trajectory comes virtually full circle on 2009's "Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us", an album that sees the British Metal veterans resuming virtually the exact same accessible Gothic Doom style that characterized their most commercially and critically successful albums, in essence making it sound like the would-be successor to 1995's "Draconian Times". Of course, in the real world, that successor was 1997's "One Second", which initiated the band's often still remarkable but widely underrated voyage into a decade's worth of Electro-Goth Rock experiments before the start of its Metallic "rehabilitation" via a tentative eponymous set in 2005, and it's far more focused follow-up, "In Requiem", a couple of years later. At this point, many of the band's long-polarized fan base probably guessed what might come next, but few really believed they'd actually come face to face with that which they had longed for over so many years… Luckily for all involved, "Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us" comes across not as a white flag of acquiescent apology for questionable career choices but as a proudly borne ensign backed up by a steady stream of skilfully realized anthems of sublime despondency ("As Horizons End," "First Light," "Last Regret," the title cut, etc.) too strong in their own right to be dismissed as self-plagiarism on any level. So are there exceptions to the musical templates established of old? Very few, verging on nonexistent, but they include Nick Holmes' reaching for unprecedented higher registers on "I Remain"; the guitar harmonics punctuating the energetic "Frailty"; the nearly Stoner Rock'n'Doom of "Universal Dream"; and the lingering electronic fireflies hovering just beyond sight (but you know they're there) on portions of the album closer, "In Truth." All of which supports the level of fan excitement surrounding "Faith Divides Us – Death Unites Us" and asks the next question: could a full-fledged devolution into the primal dirge of the band's formative Death/Doom Metal origins be next? Don't hold your breath, but stranger things have happened throughout Paradise Lost's increasingly intriguing career…

"Gothic" was the album responsible for a whole sub-genre: Gothic Doom Metal, upon its release in 1991. Creating a more melancholy & atmospheric form of Dark Extremity, with the introduction of Gregor Mackintosh’s highly distinctive & unmistakable lead guitar melodies, Paradise Lost was quickly brought to the forefront as one of the pioneering bands of the early nineties, becoming highly influential to a generation of subsequent greats.
The "Gothic" album was recorded in late 1990 - early 1991 at the renowned Academy Studios in Yorkshire; a studio responsible for classic recordings from bands such as My Dying Bride, Anathema, Cradle Of Filth, among many others.
"Gothic", though a perfectly logical step in retrospect, seemed at the time of its release like something of a departure for the band's earliest fans. This perception was largely enforced by the less deliberate, more energetic arrangements given to songs like "Dead Emotion" and "Shattered", not to mention Paradise Lost's slightly cleaner approach to guitar crunch. Further standouts such as the title track, "Eternal", and "The Painless" also made cautious use of keyboards and even female vocals, which together added atmospheric nuances to the group's ultra-depressive power chords. Gaining in confidence, young vocalist Nick Holmes' growling style was still utterly unmusical here, but at least he was making himself heard over the band's monolithic din. His lyrics were also becoming increasingly more mature, and this maturity would help push Paradise Lost ahead of its demon-obsessed competitors with each subsequent album.
In June 2005, "Gothic" was inducted into the Decibel Magazine "Hall of Fame", becoming the fifth album overall to be featured there.

Paradise Lost are known for being the founders of the Gothic Death/Doom Metal genre – a style fully brought into existence with their genre-defining second album, the highly influential "Gothic".
Having released two albums for the UK’s Peaceville Records and later helping to establish Peaceville as home to the finest trio of UK Doom Metal bands (alongside My Dying Bride and Anathema), Paradise Lost then signed with fellow UK label, Music For Nations, which eventually led to the band breaking through to mainstream Rock and Metal audiences as their style evolved, becoming one of the UK’s most essential Metal exports around the globe in the process.
Featuring more Death Metal influences, Paradise Lost created a Dark and Atmospheric style of Brutal Death Metal, as opposed to one based on speed. The album was recorded at Academy Studios (My Dying Bride, Anathema, Cradle Of Filth) in Yorkshire, England.
On this, their modest debut, Paradise Lost helped define the rules of Doom/Death Metal: grinding, de-tuned anthems of woe topped with Death metal-style guttural vocals. Yet, even as they were laying down the blueprint, Paradise Lost was already reaching for realms unknown to their then-amateurish abilities and latent promise. This is evident in all but the most primitive tracks here, but only the occasionally memorable riff or discreet melody contained in tracks like "Paradise Lost", "Rotting Misery", "Deadly Inner Sense", and "Breeding Fear" (which introduces a female vocalist) even hint at the band's potential. 
The tracks "Our Saviour" and "Frozen Illusion" were rerecorded in other Paradise Lost albums, "Tragic Illusion 25 (The Rarities)" and "Medusa".
"Lost Paradise" serves as a welcome rediscovery for serious fans!

The sixth full-length studio album by American Pop-Rock singer.
The album debuted on the US Billboard 200 for the week of December 14 and peaked at number 26, spawning the Singles "Invincible", "Sex as a Weapon", and "Le Bel Age".
The Grammy Award-nominated single "Invincible" was produced by Mike Chapman and recorded for the soundtrack of the Matthew Robbins film "The Legend of Billie Jean", which, despite underperforming at the box office, became a cult classic to MTV fans in general. The song became commercially successful and was included on the album, despite its musical style differing from Benatar's at that time and more reminiscent of her earlier efforts. Benatar often commented at her concerts before performing the song that it "is from one of the worst movies ever made."
It was Benatar's last album to feature bassist Donnie Nossov, who along with drummer Myron Grombacher went on to play with Lita Ford on her breakthrough album, "Lita" (1988), and on the supporting tour. Grombacher would return to Benatar's band for her follow-up album, "Wide Awake in Dreamland", released after the three-year hiatus that followed "Seven The Hard Way".
"Seven The Hard Way" has been certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The second full-length studio album by legendary French Jazz/Pop singer.
In France, "Scène De Vie" went to #2 on May 10, 1990, before reaching the top of the albums chart and staying there for ten weeks. It spent 38 weeks in the top ten and 78 in the top 50. The album went Diamond disc eight years after its release.
In Switzerland, the album entered the chart on May 6, 1990, at #17, and reached a peak position of #15. It remained on the chart for six weeks, then re-charted for a further 16 weeks, from January 20 to May 5, 1991, entering the top 30 for eight weeks. It was certified double Platinum in 1993.
The album also went Platinum in Canada, after being Gold on March 28, 1991.

Upon it's release, "Flowers In The Dirt" was considered a major return for McCartney, because he was embarking on his first world tour since the Wings Over The World tour back in 1975/1976. "Flowers In The Dirt" was also celebrated due to its musical quality, which earned McCartney his best reviews in years. Album immediately was entered the UK charts at #1.

The album was Abdul's breakthrough into the music industry after being a choreographer for high-profile clients including Kate Bush, The California Raisins, George Michael, ZZ Top, Duran Duran and most notably Janet Jackson. The album was made on a budget of $72,000. At the time of the album's release, it was the most successful debut album of all time and was the first time an artist scored four US Billboard Hot 100 number-one Singles from a debut album ("Straight Up", "Forever Your Girl", "Cold Hearted", and "Opposites Attract")!
By 1998, Billboard Magazine reported that "Forever Your Girl" was the most successful album released by the Virgin Records label, with all five of its top 20 hits also appearing on the same chart ranking Virgin's Singles. The album was eventually certified seven times Platinum in the US by the RIAA and has sold over 12 million copies worldwide.

“Malleus Maleficarum’s” history traces back to the beginnings of the genre; the album preceded Death’s “Leprosy” by a month, while Morbid Angel was yet to release its first album. The album was originally released on cassette by R/C Records (a sub-label of Roadracer Records, an American division of Roadrunner Records) and today, stands firmly as a monument of early-day Death Metal. 
Although the sound of this album is technically Death Metal, its direction is notably different from the band's subsequent work, leaning more towards the Thrash Metal genre with Punk influences, known as Crossover Thrash. Very Thrashy style with some hints to Possessed, Slayer and Infernal Majesty.
This is the only Pestilence album to include guitarist Randy Meinhard, who was replaced by Patrick Uterwijk prior to the making of their next album, "Consuming Impulse" (1989).
"Malleus Maleficarum" - is a band’s input, that stretches across nearly 40 years, blazed the trail for generations of Progressive Death Metal artists. A must-have for all Pestilence fans, and a perfect looking glass into the dawning of a legendary group!

The first re-release of the third full-length studio album by legendary Dutch Death Metal band.
After releasing the now-timeless classic “Consuming Impulse” in 1989, Pestilence was faced with the necessity of replacing a notable member, vocalist Martin van Drunen, following his departure to pursue a career with Asphyx. The band found themselves at the crossroads with an uneasy task, given the success brought about by “Consuming Impulse”. As it turns out, the decision to revert to Patrick Mameli as vocalist not only stood the test of time, but, in hindsight, gave birth to a trademark ingredient of Pestilence’s core sound formula. To make things even more interesting, Mameli stepped away from playing bass, from now on assuming the double role of guitarist/vocalist, and enlisted Tony Choy (of Cyinc at the time), adding another famed name to the line-up, and another anchor point for the band’s inventive nature. Alongside Patrick Uterwijk (guitars) and Marco Foddis (drums), they recorded "Testimony Of The Ancients" (1991) at the legendary Morrissound Studios, where it acquired a refined production, courtesy of Scott Burns.
"Testimony of the Ancients" is regarded as a Progressive Death Metal classic from the originators of the genre. In comparison with the first three Pestilence albums, the material wasn't as abrasive, the musicianship matured, and the band’s previously found innovate technical accretions, rose to new, ingenious levels. Mameli steered the band towards a more Melodic and Technical approach, expanding on the Death Metal sound of its predecessor, "Consuming Impulse". The resulting concept album, "Testimony Of The Ancients" contrasted Brutal Death Metal riffs with Melodic interludes. After each song on the album, there was an instrumental outro track. This attempt to push the boundaries of Death Metal, at a time when the scene was saturated with copycat "one track minded" bands, mirrored the efforts of fellow Progressive bands Atheist and Death, who released "Unquestionable Presence" and "Human" respectively in 1991, the same year as "Testimony Of The Ancients".
The album can also be seen as a stepping stone on the way to the following Pestilence album, "Spheres", which departed still further from traditional Death Metal and headed towards Jazz/Fusion.
At the time of the album’s release, the demand for Pestilence elevated as never before and entailed massive touring; noteworthy is the band’s lauded performance at the Dynamo Open Air Festival from that period.

The debut full-length studio album by legendary British Synth-Pop band.
Immaculately crafted and seamlessly produced synthesized Dance-Pop, "Please" sketches out the basic elements of the duo's sound. At first listen, most of the songs come off as mere excuses for the dance-floor, driven by cold, melodic keyboard riffs and pulsing drum machines. However, the songcraft that the beats support is surprisingly strong, featuring catchy melodies that appear slight because of Neil Tennant's thin voice.
Tennant's lyrics were still in their formative stages, with half of the record failing to transcend the formulaic constraints of Dance-Pop.
The songs that do break free, the intentionally crass "Opportunities (Let's Make Lots of Money)", the lulling "Suburbia", and the hypnotic "West End Girls", are not only classic Dance Singles, they're classic Pop Singles.

The last Single by legendary British Progressive Rock band.
"Hey Hey Rise Up" is the first new track recorded by Pink Floyd since "Louder than Words" in 2014. The Single is based on a 1914 Ukrainian anthem, "Oh, the Red Viburnum in the Meadow", and features vocals in Ukrainian by Andriy Khlyvnyuk of the Boombox Band. The guitarist, David Gilmour, was inspired to record it in support of Ukraine during the 2022 russian invasion. Pink Floyd had been inactive for several years, and Gilmour had said several times that the band would not reunite; however, the war encouraged him to release the track as Pink Floyd.
The Single was released on 15 July 2022, alongside a new version of Pink Floyd's 1994 song "A Great Day for Freedom". All proceeds go to the Ukraine Humanitarian Relief Fund.

With Barrett's behaviour becoming increasingly unpredictable, David Gilmour was recruited to compliment Barrett, and eventually to replace him. As a result, "A Saucerful Of Secrets" became the only non-compilation Pink Floyd album on which all five band members appeared, the first for Gilmour (with him appearing on five songs), and the last for Barrett (with him on three). "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun" was the only song all five members appeared on together.
"Remember a Day" and "See Saw" are highlights; on "Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun", "Let There Be More Light", and the lengthy instrumental title track, the band begin to map out the dark and repetitive pulses that would characterize their next few records.
Upon release, "A Saucerful Of Secrets" reached number nine in the UK charts, but failed to chart at all in the US until 2019, when it peaked at 158. However, when it was reissued as "A Nice Pair" with the original version of "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn", after the success of "The Dark Side Of The Moon", the album did chart at number 36 on the Billboard 200.

2018 remixed version of the tenth full-length studio album by legendary British Progressive Rock band.
The iconic 1977 Pink Floyd album has been remixed for the first time by James Guthrie. The album was recorded at the band's Britannia Row Studios in London throughout 1976, and was produced by the band.
Of all the classic-era Pink Floyd albums, "Animals" is the strangest and darkest, a record that's hard to initially embrace yet winds up yielding as many rewards as its equally nihilistic successor, "The Wall". Arriving after the warm-spirited (albeit melancholy) "Wish You Were Here", the shift in tone comes as a bit of a surprise, and there are even less proper songs here than on either "Wish You Were Here" or "Dark Side Of The Moon". "Animals" is all extended pieces, yet it never drifts - it slowly, ominously works its way toward its destination.
For an album that so clearly is Waters', David Gilmour's guitar dominates thoroughly, with Richard Wright's keyboards rarely rising above a mood-setting background (such as on the intro to "Sheep"). This gives the music, on occasion, immediacy and actually heightens the dark mood by giving it muscle. It also makes "Animals" as accessible as it possibly could be, since it surges with bold Blues Rock guitar lines and hypnotic Space Rock textures. Through it all, though, the utter blackness of Waters' spirit holds true, and since there are no vocal hooks or melodies, everything rests on the mood, the near-nihilistic lyrics, and Gilmour's guitar. These are the kinds of things that satisfy cultists, and it will reward their attention - there's just no way in for casual listeners.
"Animals" is a concept album, focusing on the social-political conditions of mid-1970s Britain, and was a change from the style of the band's earlier work. The album was developed from a collection of unrelated songs into a concept which describes the apparent social and moral decay of society, likening the human condition to that of animals. The album received positive reviews from critics and was commercially successful, reaching number two in the UK, and three in the US. number 2 and 3 in the UK and US, respectively. The album was recorded at the band's Britannia Row Studios in London throughout 1976, and was produced by the band. It continues the longform compositions that made up their previous works, including "Wish You Were Here" (1975). 
Lyrically, "Animals" is a concept album that provides a scathing critique of the social-political conditions of late 1970s Britain, and presents a marked change in musical style from their earlier work. Its production was punctuated by early signs of tension within the band, which would later culminate in keyboardist Richard Wright leaving the band. 
Of all of the classic-era Pink Floyd albums, "Animals" is the strangest and darkest, a record that's hard to initially embrace yet winds up yielding as many rewards as its equally nihilistic successor, "The Wall". Arriving after the warm-spirited (albeit melancholy) "Wish You Were Here", the shift in tone comes as a bit of a surprise, and there are even less proper songs here than on either "Wish You Were Here" or "Dark Side Of The Moon". "Animals" is all extended pieces, yet it never drifts - it slowly, ominously works its way toward its destination.
For an album that so clearly is Waters', David Gilmour's guitar dominates thoroughly, with Richard Wright's keyboards rarely rising above a mood-setting background (such as on the intro to "Sheep"). This gives the music, on occasion, immediacy and actually heightens the dark mood by giving it muscle. It also makes "Animals" as accessible as it possibly could be, since it surges with bold Blues Rock guitar lines and hypnotic Space Rock textures. Through it all, though, the utter blackness of Waters' spirit holds true, and since there are no vocal hooks or melodies, everything rests on the mood, the near-nihilistic lyrics, and Gilmour's guitar. These are the kinds of things that satisfy cultists, and it will reward their attention - there's just no way in for casual listeners.

Remastered re-release of the fifth full-length studio album by legendary British Psychedelic/Progressive Rock band.
Appearing after the sprawling, unfocused double-album set "Ummagumma" (1969), "Atom Heart Mother" may boast more focus, even a concept, yet that doesn't mean it's more accessible. If anything, this is the most impenetrable album Pink Floyd released while on Harvest, which also makes it one of the most interesting of the era.
Still, it may be an acquired taste even for fans, especially since it kicks off with a side-long, 23-minute extended orchestral piece that may not seem to head anywhere, but is often intriguing, more in what it suggests than what it achieves. Then, on the second side, Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Rick Wright have a song apiece, winding up with the group composition "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" wrapping it up. Of these, Waters begins developing the voice that made him the band's lead songwriter during their classic era with "If," while Wright has an appealingly mannered, very English psychedelic fantasia on "Summer '68", and Gilmour's "Fat Old Sun" meanders quietly before ending with a guitar workout. "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast", the 12-minute opus that ends the album, does the same thing, floating for several minutes before ending on a drawn-out jam that finally gets the piece moving.
So, there are interesting moments scattered throughout the record, and the work that initially seems so impenetrable winds up being "Atom Heart Mother"'s strongest moment. That it lasts an entire side illustrates that Pink Floyd was getting better with the larger picture instead of the details, since the second side just winds up falling off the tracks, no matter how many good moments there are. This lack of focus means "Atom Heart Mother" will largely be for cultists, but its unevenness means there's also a lot to cherish here.
The "Atom Heart Mother" was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. It was the band's first album to reach number 1 in the UK, while it reached number 55 in the US, eventually going Gold there. It was released in the quadraphonic format in the UK, Germany and Australia. The album is ranked number 990 in All-Time Top 1000 Albums.

Remastered re-release of the sixth full-length studio album by legendary British Psychedelic/Space/Progressive Rock band.
The album was produced between the band's touring commitments, from January to August 1971 at a series of locations around London, including EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) and Morgan Studios. With no material to work with and no clear idea of the album's direction, the band devised a series of novel experiments which eventually inspired the album's signature track "Echoes". Although the band's later albums would be unified by a central theme with lyrics written entirely by Roger Waters, "Meddle" was a group effort with lyrics primarily by Waters, and is considered a transitional album between the Syd Barrett-influenced band of the late 1960s and the Waters-led era.
The album was well received by critics upon its release, and reached number three in the United Kingdom, but lacklustre publicity on the part of the band's American label Capitol Records led to poor sales there upon initial release. "Meddle" was later certified Gold by the RIAA on 29 October 1973 and then double Platinum on 11 March 1994, following the added attention garnered by the band's later successes in the United States.
The album was voted number 255 in the third edition of Colin Larkin's book "All Time Top 1000 Albums" (2000).

This is a soundtrack for the 1969 French hippie film "More", which was primarily filmed on location on Ibiza and was the directorial debut of Barbet Schroeder.
This is Pink Floyd's first full album without founding member Syd Barrett, who was ousted from the band in 1968, during the recording of "A Saucerful Of Secrets". It is one of only three Pink Floyd albums to feature David Gilmour as the sole lead vocalist, the others being 1987's "A Momentary Lapse Of Reason" and 2014's "The Endless River", and it is also the first album to be produced by Pink Floyd without assistance from Norman Smith. It is the only album in the band's discography not to have a lead vocal from Roger Waters during his tenure in the band (1964–1985).
The album contains some acoustic Folk ballads, a genre that appeared sparsely on Pink Floyd's later works. It also contains some of the band's "heaviest" recordings, such as "The Nile Song" and "Ibiza Bar", as well as several instrumental tracks, featuring their Experimental and Avant-garde approach.
More reached number 9 in the UK and, upon re-release in 1973, number 153 in the US.

For the first time on vinyl, the sixth compilation album by legendary British Progressive Rock band.
"The Best Of Pink Floyd – A Foot In The Door" is the greatest hits album, that was released on CD as part of the "Why Pink Floyd…?" 2011–12 remastering campaign. The career-spanning compilation features some best-known album tracks from across Pink Floyd's career, 1967 to 1994, as well as the UK Top 10 Single, "See Emily Play".
Newly mastered for vinyl in 2018 by longstanding Pink Floyd associate James Guthrie, with Joel Plante, and with lacquers cut by Bernie Grundman of Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles, California, the 2LP version features at least one difference from the CD version. Time is slightly longer, with the ringing alarm clocks at the start of the track reinstated.
The original artwork, art directed by the late Storm Thorgerson, has been amended by Pink Floyd Creative Director Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis, with Peter Curzon, to include alternate versions of the photographs used in the CD version. The album package comes in a gatefold outer-sleeve, with two separate printed inner-sleeves, and is pressed on heavyweight 180 gram vinyl.
