"Nightmares Of The Decomposed" was the first Six Feet Under album on which Chris Barnes and former Cannibal Corpse guitarist Jack Owen worked together. This collaboration, which already existed when Barnes was still the singer in Cannibal Corpse, is now entering its second round with "Killing For Revenge".
2020's "Nightmares Of The Decomposed" wasn't certainly Six Feet Under's finest moment; guitarist Jack Owen rejoining Chris Barnes - for the first time since their Cannibal Corpse days - turned out to be a rather disappointing outcome for all those expecting a throwback to early 90s Death Metal, and the questionable vocal performance on the record was heavily ridiculed by the internet mob. A lot of the hate and disdain towards Barnes actually seemed to stem from some of his online bickering with haters and instigators, and while the man sometimes went over the top with some of his tweets, his reaction was quite understandable; he's one of the originals when it comes to death metal, he contributed to some absolute classics of the genre and pretty much defined the guttural growling and splatter lyrics template, and while this doesn't mean that he should always get a pass, at least he deserves some respect. He became a meme instead, and this shitstorm almost overshadowed his many accomplishments. For a moment, it seemed like Six Feet Under was done for good, but Owen came to the rescue of his old friend and restored his morale by writing a whole new record, even going as far as writing 90% of the lyrics and vocal patterns. The album took on a meaningful title, "Killing for Revenge"!
The 4 years between "Nightmares Of The Decomposed" and this new record brought some fresh air; Barnes reportedly quit both smoking weed and drinking, and in general - judging from some recent interviews and from the ongoing US tour with the Nile - he's humbled by the support he got from his hardcore fans, and he seems to be in a positive headspace. This attitude seems to have influenced the outcome on "Killing for Revenge", which definitely is a step up from the previous record. The line-up also stuck together, with Barnes and Owen at the helm, joined by Jeff Hughell, Marco Pitruzzella and Ray Suhy.
The album offers a good presentation from the get-go, with a great cover artwork painted by none other than Vince Locke, the legendary artist behind all Cannibal Corpse artworks. Chris Barnes was the one who actually hired him for "Eaten Back To Life" back in 1990, so it seems like things finally came full circle; Locke's style is unmistakable, and the painting is actually better than everything he's done for Cannibal Corpse since "The Bleeding".
"Killing For Revenge" is full of slow, Doomy yet crushing Death Metal in the typical Six Feet Under style.
Chris Barnes certainly sounds better on this release compared to the controversial "Nightmares Of The Decomposed", offering a performance that is more in line with how he sounded on "Torment" or "Crypt Of The Devil"; while probably still not good enough for his haters, and he seems to have regained some power, as well as part of his guttural range.
"Killing For Revenge" is an honest record that puts Six Feet Under back on track after a few difficult years, and it's a redeeming effort that deserves some attention. While it would have been naive to expect a masterpiece from two songwriters who are next to being 60 years old, it's still a worthwhile album. It's an old-school, Neanderthal-sounding Death/Thrash Metal record that goes for the throat for most of its running time, and unless you're a Gen-Z, stuck-up technical Death Metal elitist, you're gonna find yourself sporting an evil grin while listening to it.

The first re-release of the second full-length studio album by legendary American Death Metal band.
For Six Feet Under second and final album with founding guitarist Allen West, the band fulfilled its potential, merging Chris Barnes' Godzilla-like growl with West's lumbering, snail-paced riffs. Though Cannibal Corpse fans may still long for a more up-tempo set of guitar riffs, West's work really defines this album, making it an interesting variation of his other band, Obituary. Of course, the simplicity of the riffs and their slow pace may just as well inspire criticism as it does celebration, given the fact that most Death Metal bands pride themselves on velocity.
As expected, Barnes puts in a dominating performance here, making this arguably the band's best 1990s album, depending on whether you prefer West's guitar playing or that of his successor, ex-Massacre guitarist Steve Swanson, as featured on the band's other celebrated 1990s album, "Maximum Violence".
In 2005, "Warpath" was ranked number 334 in Rock Hard Magazine book The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time.

The sixth full-length studio album by Italian Heavy Metal band.
With all of their mighty and long history since their formation in 1982, Skanners didn't stand with the big boys. Although these guys have a sense to create memorable songs on all of their albums, including "Factory Of Steel", they use the same formula as everyone else did back in the 80s and even today. Catchy tunes is the name of the game and in the case of Skanners, they implement catchiness everywhere on the album. "Factory OF Steel", on its whole, is a wonderful release with memorable songs. Nevertheless, the reason it can’t get higher than the grade given, is because as each track fades, the general idea is the same. It is like Skanners didn't even try to step out of the shell a bit and create something that might eventually be different from what they had done throughout their long career.
Skanners advantage is their experience that led them to remain classic even nowadays where heaviness is a very important to create powerful music. Their way to create memorable tunes is top notch as they follow the strict line of the 80s. Nevertheless, they will have to put some extra flavor into their future songs.
Whoever appreciates 80s German Heavy Metal, like Accept, old Helloween, Primal Fear and Sinner, will get a kick out of Skanners' Metal way!

For the first time on vinyl, the third full-length studio album by Argentinean Power/Folk Metal band.
Officially founded in 2004 in Argentina, Skiltron is the leading Folk Metal band from South America, now based in Finland. The band have made of his sound a unique trademark, merging the power of Heavy Metal with the charm of the Celtic tunes.
"The Highland Way" will provide few surprises for an experienced listener of the band, but rather sees a smooth continuation of the red-hot form they hit with "Beheading The Liars" back in 2008. Their Scottish-themed anthems remain vibrant and recognizable among much competition in the current arena, and stand out from the bustling crowd with deceptive ease due to their less conventional melding of Folk music with galloping Speed/Power metal. Superficially it may appear to make little differences, but fans of the first two albums will notice the subtle differences and the continuation of the band’s gradual march towards finally locking their Folk and Metal sounds together seamlessly.
Diego Valdez has really settled into his role as vocalist on his second outing with the band - his powerful voice the battle cry that leads the rest of his teammates forward, and the soaring choruses are often the thing that kicks the songs up a notch from good to great.
Always the most prominent aspect of the Skiltron sound, the pipes, nevertheless enjoy an even more significant role in the songs, while still managing to avoid the curse of completely swamping them, something too many modern Folk Metal bands seem unable to avoid when it comes to making use of non-Metal instruments.
Switching up between crushing Speed Metal attacks and more expansive epics where acoustic guitars and mandolins add extra flavour, "The Highland Way" is an album that is expertly paced with a natural ebb and flow to the songs, shifting up and down the gears at all the right moments to ensure a cohesive listen. And it's highly recommended to all fans of Power and especially Folk Metal!

It’s been a decade since Slash Featuring Myles Kennedy And The Conspirators released their debut album together, and since then have been on one of the more impressive and unrelenting tears in Rock ‘n’ Roll, issuing two more hard-hitting, highly-acclaimed records, and rocking stages all over the world. Since their debut, Slash has amassed album sales of over 100 million copies, garnered a Grammy Award and 7x Grammy nominations, and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Though Slash reunited with Guns N' Roses in 2016, he has still continued with his solo work - this being the second studio album release in that time period. This is the first album to come from the newly formed relationship with Gibson Records and BMG.
Writing for the album started during the 2018-19 Living the Dream Tour. Looking to record the album differently than previously, the band travelled to Nashville to record at RCA Studio A with Dave Cobb. The band faced the complications of COVID-19, not only in a delay of getting together to record the album, but also with the recording itself. Myles Kennedy was the first of several band members to contract the virus. He points out that you can hear his congestion on the opening track, but states that these anomalies make the album interesting because "We just let those imperfections lay".

The fourth European re-release of the fifth full-length studio album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
It was the first album of Slayer released on the new Rick Rubin's label Def American (because of disagreements with the producer of Def Jam owner Russell Symons). "Seasons In The Abyss" is the last Slayer’ album with Dave Lombardo before his return in 2002. 
After staking out new territory with the underrated "South Of Heaven", Slayer brought back some of the pounding speed of "Reign In Blood" for their third major-label album, "Seasons In The Abyss". Essentially, "Seasons" fuses its two predecessors, periodically kicking up the mid-tempo grooves of "South Of Heaven" with manic bursts of aggression. "War Ensemble" and the title track each represented opposite sides of the coin, and they both earned Slayer their heaviest MTV airplay to date.
In fact, "Seasons In The Abyss" is probably their most accessible album, displaying the full range of their abilities all in one place, with sharp, clean production. Since the band is refining rather than progressing or experimenting, "Seasons" doesn't have quite the freshness of its predecessors, but aside from that drawback, it's strong almost all the way from top to bottom (with perhaps one or two exceptions).
Lyrically, the band rarely turns to demonic visions of the afterlife anymore, preferring instead to find tangible horror in real life - war, murder, human weakness. There's even full-fledged social criticism, which should convince any doubters that Slayer aren't trying to promote the subjects they sing about. Like Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" or Megadeth's "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying!", "Seasons In The Abyss" paints Reagan-era America as a cesspool of corruption and cruelty, and the music is as devilishly effective as ever.
CD debuted at the 44th position on the Billboard 200 and number 18 on the UK Albums Chart. In 1992 was certified a Gold in both the United States and Canada. The title track and "War Ensemble" earned Slayer its heaviest airplay on MTV to date. "Seasons In The Abyss" certainly among the top of three albums of the band!

The band was forced to self-finance their debut album, combining the savings of vocalist Tom Araya, who was employed as a respiratory therapist, and money borrowed from guitarist Kerry King's father. Touring extensively promoting the album, the band brought close friends and family members along the trip, who helped backstage with lighting and sound.
The album was recorded & mixed in November 1983 at Track Record Studios and released a month later. It took only eight hours to record (!!!), to cut down studio costs, which explains the poor production quality. Although criticized for poor production quality, "Show No Mercy" became Metal Blade Records' highest selling release!
Nothing commercial, nothing accessible - just pure Thrash f***ing Metal of the highest order, with a steroidal injection of NWOBHM.

Slayer’s debut is still regarded as a milestone for a new way of doing Metal. This new way was a start of the real Thrash Metal. This album is, along with “Kill ‘Em All”, “Killing Is My Business… And My Business Is Good” and “Bonded By Blood”, an important sign of the new growing scene. Slayer, grown up with Venom and true Heavy Metal, created a piece of history, a must for every Metal kid. And the story begins right here… Four guys, that wanted to play fast and brutal, join together and, after few demos, they recorded the first album, “Show No Mercy” - ten tracks of pure Speed/Thrash Metal.
Brian Slagel signed the band to Metal Blade, after watching their performing of the song "Phantom of the Opera" by Iron Maiden. The band was forced to self-finance their debut album, combining the savings of vocalist Tom Araya, who was employed as a respiratory therapist, and money borrowed from guitarist Kerry King's father. Touring extensively promoting the album, the band brought close friends and family members along the trip, who helped backstage with lighting and sound.
The album was recorded & mixed in November 1983 at Track Record Studios and released a month later. It took only eight hours to record (!!!), to cut down studio costs, which explains the poor production quality. Although criticized for poor production quality, "Show No Mercy" became Metal Blade Records' highest selling release!
Nothing commercial, nothing accessible - just pure Thrash f***ing Metal of the highest order with a steroidal injection of NWOBHM.

The third re-release of the second live album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
The album was recorded during the Touring The Abyss and Clash Of The Titans tours, in three separate places, on three separate dates: Wembley Arena in London (October 14, 1990); Orange Show Pavilion in San Bernardino, California (March 8, 1991; and Lakeland Civic Center in Lakeland, Florida (July 13, 1991). Producer Rick Rubin made the two-discs sound like it was recorded at one gig. Unlike most other live recordings, this Slayer album completely “live” – no overdubbing exists on this recording. Joel McIver, author of "The Bloody Reign of Slayer", said that it was regarded as one of the best live albums released by a Heavy Metal band. 
The album was released through Def American Recordings on October 22, 1991.  Although it had a working title "Decade Of Decadence", it was released as "Decade Of Aggression" after Mötley Crüe copyrighted the name on their 1991 greatest hits album.
The album charted on three different charts. On November 9, 1991, it peaked at number 55 on the Billboard 200. On January 13, 1992, the album entered the Media Control Charts, peaked at number 35. It maintained a number on the chart until February 2, 1992, giving it a total of three weeks on the chart. On December 2, 1991, it entered the UK Album Charts, peaking at number 29. It stayed on the chart for two weeks.

The second re-release of the eighth full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
The second studio album of the band to feature drummer Paul Bostaph.
The album became the first record of the band recorded with a low order and was designated by the band as the most experimental album. It is to be played mostly in Drop C# tuning. The album's title is a Latin term for "The Devil in Music", a musical interval known for its dissonance.
Lyrical themes explored on the album include religion, cultural deviance, death, insanity, war, and homicide. Guitarist Jeff Hanneman wrote most of the album's content.
This is an album everybody can enjoy. It bears the heaviness that many fans enjoy, while maintaining that fast-paced Thrash element fans of classic Slayer look for. It progresses beyond the stale sound developed from "Divine Intervention" and "Undisputed Attitude". Finally, it honestly and wholeheartedly kicks ass!
The album received fairly critical reviews and despite this it sold in the amount of 46 000 copies in the first week and reached position number 31 on the Billboard 200. As of August 16, 2006 the album has sold 290 000 copies in the United States.
Release includes two printed inlays with lyrics and images.

The second re-release of the sixth full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
The band's first album with new drummer Paul Bostaph, replacing the original drummer, Dave Lombardo. However, it was the first album with a new sound, which could be seen a departure from the canonical Slayer's Thrash Metal style. The new sound was characterized by a high volume, loss of the melodic line and the strong influence of Punk Rock.
The Rock & Roll landscape changed dramatically between "Seasons In The Abyss" in 1990 and "Divine Intervention" in 1994. With the rise of Alternative Rock, many Metal and Hard Rock bands that had been enormously successful at the dawn of the '90s were struggling by the middle of the decade. Instead of doing something calculated like emulating Nirvana or Pearl Jam, or for that matter, Nine Inch Nails or Ministry, Slayer wisely refused to sound like anyone but Slayer. Tom Araya and co. responded to the new environment simply by striving to be the heaviest Metal band they possibly could. Less accessible than "Seasons In The Abyss" but equally riveting, "Divine Intervention" marked drummer Paul Bostaph's studio debut with the band. Bostaph proved to be a positive, energizing influence on Slayer, which sounds better than ever on such dark triumphs as "Killing Fields", "Serenity in Murder" and "Circle of Beliefs".
Characteristically grim and morbid, Slayer focus on the violently repressive nature of governments and the lengths to which they will go to wield power. And true to form, Slayer's music is as disturbing as their lyrics. 
The charts were a record for the band at the time, the album debuted at position 8 on the Billboard 200 in the first week, sales of 93000 copies, and by 2002 it sold over 400000 copies in the US. It peaked number eight on the Billboard 200 and charted at number 15 on the UK Albums Chart, and later in the same year, the album was certified Gold in Canada and the United States. Although it is less accessible than its predecessor "Seasons In The Abyss", Rolling Stone considered it to be their most successful album as of 2001.
In 1998 the album was banned in Germany due to the lyrics of "SS-3", "Circle of Beliefs", "Serenity in Murder", "213" and "Mind Control".

The first American re-release of the ninth full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
The last album with drummer Paul Bostaph, before it returns in 2013. Incredibly brutal, "God Hates Us All" is Slayer's most effective album since "Seasons in the Abyss" (1990), thanks in large part to Matt Hyde's raw production and a handful of killer songs. The previous few Slayer albums, "Divine Intervention" (1994), "Undisputed Attitude" (1996) and "Diabolus In Musica" (1998), were relatively disappointing, at least for anyone familiar with the band's defining triptych of "Reign In Blood" (1986), "South Of Heaven" (1988) and "Seasons In The Abyss" (1990). While "God Hates Us All" isn't on a par with those classics, without much argument one could call it a return to form for Slayer. A couple "War Ensemble"-style thrashers, "Disciple" and "New Faith", get the album off to vicious start; "Payback" concludes the album likewise. On the other hand, "Bloodline" is a slower-paced, evocative song in the style of "Reign in Blood" and "South of Heaven", including a melodic chorus. These are the highlights of "God Hates Us All", and while there are some passable songs sequenced throughout the 13-track album, it's solid and well-balanced overall. Especially since it arrived after a long absence, "God Hates Us All" should be a relief for long-time Slayer fans who were afraid the band had fallen off during the '90s, and it well may surprise newcomers unfamiliar with the band's prime recordings from the mid- to late '80s. The album was recorded with the old, traditional for Slayer hard sound.
The album was released on the day of the tragedy in the United States, September 11, 2001. Release date of the album was delayed because of problems with the cover, due to difficulties during the recording, and because of the change of producer. In its week of release, "God Hates Us All" debuted at number 28 on the Billboard 200 and sold 51000 copies. It entered the Canadian Albums Chart at number 9 and debuted at number 18 on the top Internet album chart. As of August 16, 2006 the album has sold 304000 copies in the United States. The band was first time nominated for a Grammy Award, for the song "Disciple", but the prize was awarded to the other band.
Dave Lombardo re-joined Slayer and attended music festivals worldwide to promote "God Hates Us All" and record drums on the 2006 album "Christ Illusion".

Remastered re-release of the first EP by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
The EP was released in 1984 through Metal Blade and Enigma Records. Slayer's debut album "Show No Mercy" became Metal Blade's highest selling, leading to producer Brian Slagel wanting to release an EP.
Although originally featuring three songs, the record evidences a marked evolution from the style of their previous album, "Show No Mercy", and is considered the first demonstration of the band's "classic" style displayed on later albums and is often described as a "stepping stone". Boasting the awesome "Chemical Warfare," a regular staple of Slayer's live shows, the "Haunting The Chapel" EP was a more crucial stepping stone in the legendary L.A. band's career development than many give it credit for.
Issued in between the band's very promising debut and the following year's more sonically ripened "Hell Awaits", "Haunting The Chapel" offers important clues about this transition period, which saw Slayer's Rock-based song structures give way to the non-linear, genre-defining style thereafter regarded as Thrash Metal's signature sound. Among the uniformly solid cuts here, the enduring fan favorite "Captor of Sin" is another highlight, making this a well-recommended release for committed Slayer fans.
The songs "Captor of Sin" and "Chemical Warfare" are regularly featured on the band's live set list. "Chemical Warfare" appears in "Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock".
"Haunting The Chapel" is definitely a highly recommended piece of work that is early Thrash Metal at its rawest and most aggressive form! Masterpiece!!

Re-release of the second full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
The band's previous release, debut album “Show No Mercy”, became Metal Blade Records' highest selling release. As a result, producer Brian Slagel desired to release a second Slayer album. To that end, Slagel financed a recording budget (“Show No Mercy” was paid for by band members) and recruited several experienced producers to help in the studio.
Lyrical themes on “Hell Awaits” are darker than on “Show No Mercy”. The intro of the first track "Hell Awaits" played backwards reveals the repeated phrase "join us".
Musically, the album features the band's most progressive and diverse work compared to their previous releases. Defined as “influential to future Extreme Metal acts”, the most popular songs from “Hell Awaits” were re-recorded by various underground Metal bands and have appeared on several tribute albums.
