For the first time on vinyl, the first mini-album by legendary German Heavy/Speed Metal band.
The beginnings of Grave Digger date back to 1980. In 1983, they released their debut album “Heavy Metal Breakdown”, and the second album, “Witch Hunter”, in 1985. Festival appearances, a tour as the supporting act for Helloween, and a triple headlining tour with Celtic Frost and Helloween followed before the release of the third album “War Games” in January 1986, all on Noise Records. Then Uwe Lulis on guitar joined in 1987 and the band's name was changed to Digger, under which they released the album “Stronger Than Ever”. This album had anything in common with the earlier music of Grave Digger, and it was not accepted by fans. As a result, Chris Boltendahl declared the break-up of the band at the end of 1987…
…However, the band partially reformed in 1991. Chris Boltendahl and Uwe Lulis, along with two newcomers, Tomi Göttlich and Jörg Michael (Rage, later Running Wild, Stratovarius), released a comeback record, “The Reaper”, returning to the true Heavy Metal roots of Grave Digger. While most fans look to The Reaper as the archetypical return to form release, that wasn't necessarily the case regarding Grave Digger. While it conclusively swept the infamous Digger debacle under the rug, it actually consisted largely of past material previously composed for the "Hawaii Demo Bottles And Four Coconuts." The form had already been returned to some years earlier, it just took the band several years to effectively regroup. Through "The Reaper", the band exorcized the few demons that remained, and effectively wiped the slate clean to usher in a new, grand period. To Grave Digger's credit, a bevy of quality material still remained locked in "The Reaper"'s vault, and they amalgamated the remaining past cuts with the first throes of the modern Grave Digger formula we are familiar with today to bring us "Symphony of Death". “Symphony Of Death” followed in 1994, with the same line-up of “The Reaper”. As per it's place in the timeline, this obscure MLP bridges the incendiary Speed Metal architecture of "The Reaper" with the Epic, forward-thinking songwriting present on "Heart Of Darkness". Grave Digger's line-up around this period is certainly one to envy, as Michael is far and away the best technician on the kit that they have ever boasted amongst their nefarious ranks. Even without Becker, these guys have no problem shifting between riff-driven fist pounders to darker, more atmospheric romps that came to define the band proper.
This is one of the greatest MLPs ever. Fast, catchy, powerful, everything you'd want in German Speed Metal. Check it out for sure, if you're a fan of the genre, and if you're just getting into Grave Digger - this is the best place to start! The eighth compilation album by legendary German Heavy/Power Metal band.
Grave Digger played Teutonic Speed Metal band in their first few years, but then slow down a bit and start making traditional Heavy Metal with a few Speed elements. They split up and then became Digger (1986-1987) and then Hawaii (1988-1991), before reforming as Grave Digger in 1991.
Vinyl version of this compilation contains material from these 90’s reformation years: "Return Of The Reaper" Demo (1991), and "For Promotion Only!!" EP (1992). Line-up features Uwe Lullis (Accept). Remastered & restored by Achilleas Kalantzis (Varathron, Possesed, Sacramentum).
Unsurprisingly, most songs sound like the Grave Digger of the '80s, a more basic and straightforward, catchy style of Heavy Metal than what they've been doing since the '90s with various concept albums. If you're expecting some horrific material here, you'll don't hear anything that put you off on this compilation. Surprisingly, everything flows rather well and doesn't sound disjointed!

First European re-release of the third full-length studio album by legedary American Punk Rock band.
Green Day couldn't have had a blockbuster without Nirvana, but "Dookie" wound up being nearly as revolutionary as "Nevermind", sending a wave of imitators up the charts and setting the tone for the mainstream Rock of the mid-'90s. Like "Nevermind", this was accidental success, the sound of a promising Underground band suddenly hitting its stride just as they got their first professional, big-budget, big-label production. Really, that's where the similarities end, since if Nirvana were indebted to the weirdness of Indie Rock, Green Day were straight-ahead Punk revivalists through and through. They were products of the Underground Pop scene kept alive by such protagonists as All, yet what they really loved was the original Punk, particularly such British Punkers as the Jam And Buzzcocks. On their first couple records, they showed promise, but with "Dookie", they delivered a record that found Billie Joe Armstrong bursting into full flower as a songwriter, spitting out melodic ravers that could have comfortably sat alongside Singles Going Steady, but infused with an ironic self-loathing popularized by Nirvana, whose clean sound on "Nevermind" is also emulated here. Where Nirvana had weight, Green Day are deliberately adolescent here, treating nearly everything as joke and having as much fun as snotty Punkers should. They demonstrate a bit of depth with "When I Come Around", but that just varies the pace slightly, since the key to this is their flippant, infectious attitude - something they maintain throughout the record, making "Dookie" a stellar piece of modern punk that many tried to emulate but nobody bettered.
The band's first collaboration with producer Rob Cavallo and its major record label debut, "Dookie" became a worldwide commercial success, peaking at number two on the US Billboard 200 and charting in seven countries. Along with The Offspring's Smash, "Dookie" has been credited for helping bring Punk Rock back into mainstream music culture.
"Dookie" was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America for the shipments of 10 million copies. 
The album has garnered considerable acclaim, from its release to present day, winning a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 1995 and being ranked No. 193 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In April 2014, Rolling Stone placed the album at No. 1 on its "1994: The 40 Best Records From Mainstream Alternative's Greatest Year" list. Green Day first achieved popularity in the 1990s with a string of successful albums. Following disappointing sales of their sixth album, "Warning" (2000), the band took a break before recording their next album, titled "Cigarettes And Valentines". The recording process was cut short when the album's master tapes were stolen. Rather than re-record that material, the group decided to start over.
A concept album dubbed a "Punk Rock Opera" by the band members, "American Idiot" follows the story of Jesus of Suburbia, a lower-middle-class American adolescent anti-hero. The fourth live album by legendary American Alternative/Punk Rock band.
Between 1994 and 2001, Green Day would visit the BBC’s Maida Vale Studios in London four times and record live sessions for Radio 1’s “Evening Show” and its popular DJ Steve Lamacq. This compilation documents those sessions, and includes many of the band’s hits including “When I Come Around”, “Basket Case”, “Brain Stew/Jaded” and “Minority”.
The first dates from June 1994, just after the band released "Dookie". Here, the trio sound loud, precise, and slightly polite; it's as if they're still getting used to operating on a larger stage. By the time they held their second BBC Session in November 1996, nearly a year after the release of "Insomniac", they sound rougher and wilder, particularly on the "Brain Stew/Jaded" performance. That attitude carries over to the third session, given in February 1998, a few months after "Nimrod" hit the stores. The 1998 set finds Green Day honing their precision attack, then the last session, given in August 2001, nearly a year after the release of "Warning", captures a band in the thick of rethinking their approach; they retain their power but sharpen their songwriting chops.
Taken together, the "BBC Sessions" emphasizes both the connective threads and creative evolution of Green Day during the first act of their career, which makes it a worthy historical document in addition to a first-rate live album.

Green Day's final album to be released by Reprise Records, it marks a slight change in style from the band's usual sound, incorporating Garage Rock elements similar to that of their tenth studio album, "¡Dos!".
The album was preceded by four Singles: "Father of All...", "Fire, Ready, Aim", "Oh Yeah!" and "Meet Me on the Roof".
"Father Of All Motherfuckers" debuted at number four on the US Billboard 200 with 48,000 album-equivalent units, including 42,000 pure album sales. It is Green Day's 11th US top-10 album.  It also debuted atop the UK Albums Chart and Australian ARIA Albums Chart, among others.

"Nimrod." is noted for its musical diversity and experimentation, containing elements of Folk, Hardcore, Surf Rock, and Ska. Lyrical themes discussed include maturity, personal reflection, and fatherhood.
"Nimrod." debuted at number ten on the Billboard 200, selling 81,000 copies in its first week of release, and remained on the chart for 70 weeks. "Appetite For Destruction" was a turning point for Hard Rock in the late '80s - it was a dirty, dangerous, and mean record in a time when Heavy Metal meant nothing but a good time. On the surface, Guns N' Roses may appear to celebrate the same things as their peers - namely, sex, liquor, drugs, and Rock & Roll - but there is a nasty edge to their songs, since Axl Rose doesn't see much fun in the urban sprawl of L.A. and its parade of Heavy Metal thugs, cheap women, booze, and crime. The music is as nasty as the lyrics, wallowing in a Bluesy, Metallic Hard Rock borrowed from Aerosmith, AC/DC, and countless faceless Hard Rock bands of the early '80s. It's a primal, Sleazy sound that adds grit to already grim tales. It also makes Rose's misogyny, fear, and anger hard to dismiss as merely an artistic statement; this is music that sounds lived-in. And that's exactly why "Appetite For Destruction" is such a powerful record - not only does Rose have fears, but he also is vulnerable, particularly on the power ballad "Sweet Child O' Mine". He also has a talent for conveying the fears and horrors of the decaying inner city, whether it's on the charging "Welcome to the Jungle", the heroin ode "Mr. Brownstone", or "Paradise City", which simply wants out. But as good as Rose's lyrics and screeching vocals are, they wouldn't be nearly as effective without the twin-guitar interplay of Slash and Izzy Stradlin, who spit out riffs and solos better than any band since the Rolling Stones, and that's what makes "Appetite For Destruction" the best Metal record of the late '80s!!
Album was well received by critics and topped the Billboard 200 chart. By September 2008, it has been certified 18× Platinum by the RIAA, making it the best-selling record released on Geffen and best-selling American debut. The album has sold 30 million copies worldwide.

Remastered re-release of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary American Hard Rock/Blues/Glam Metal band.
It was the second of two albums released in conjunction with the Use Your Illusion Tour, the other being "Use Your Illusion I". The two are thus sometimes considered a double album - in fact both were double albums consisting of 2 vinyl records each. This was the last Guns N' Roses album to feature rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin. It also included the last Guns N' Roses song to feature drummer Steven Adler (Civil War).
The essence of Hard Rock-mixed Blues (matching the color of the cover) is amazing and more refined than the previous albums and some ballads that have always been a part of G N' R. Axl's awesome voice in his prime lets you know what this is about, the solos by Slash have their unique signature that give G N' R its soul, Izzy contributes with his songwriting - and backing up Slash, Duff brings deepness to the music. Matt fits perfectly in his debut.
The production is flawless - you can hear every instrument clearly and with the exact volume to appreciate the entire performance.
On the other hand, they may have just taken what Led Zeppelin did 20 years before to another level. Many of the songs have the same basis, and it feels like the piano is the same in every song.
"Use Your Illusion II" is more serious and ambitious than "Use Your Illusion I", but it's also considerably more pretentious. Featuring no less than four songs that run over six minutes, "Use Your Illusion II" is Heavy on epics, whether it's the charging Funk Metal of "Locomotive", the antiwar "Civil War" or the multipart "Estranged." As if an attempt to balance the grandiose epics, the record is loaded with an extraordinary amount of filler. "14 Years" may have a lean, Stonesy rhythm and Duff McKagan's Johnny Thunders homage, "So Fine," may be entertaining, but there's no forgiving the ridiculous "Get in the Ring," where Axl Rose threatens Rock journalists by name because they gave him bad reviews; the misinterpretation of Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"; another version of "Don't Cry"; and the bizarre closer, "My World", which probably captures Rose's instability as effectively as the tortured poetry of his epics. That said, there are numerous strengths to "Use Your Illusion II"; a couple of songs have a nervy energy, and for all their pretensions, the overblown epics are effective, though strangely enough, they reveal notorious homophobe Rose's aspirations of being a cross between Elton John and Freddie Mercury. But the pompous production and poor pacing make the album tiring for anyone who isn't a dedicated listener.
Bolstered by the lead single "You Could Be Mine", "Use Your Illusion II" was the slightly more popular of the two albums,, selling 770000 copies in its first week and debuting at No. 1 on the U.S. charts. Each of the "Use Your Illusion" albums has been certified 7× Platinum by the RIAA. It was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1992. It was also No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart for a single week. The album has recently received critical acclaim again in 2011, being featured on Triple M Radio's Life-Changing Album series in Australia, with the station playing numerous tracks with commentary.
The album as a whole is truly great. This is perfect as a beginning into the world of Metal as an entrance to heavier stuff!

It was the first of two albums released in conjunction with the Use Your Illusion Tour, the other being "Use Your Illusion II". The two are thus sometimes considered a double album - in fact both were double albums consisting of 2 vinyl records each.
Not really conceived as a double album but impossible to separate as individual works, "Use Your Illusion" is a shining example of a suddenly successful band getting it all wrong and letting its ambitions run wild. Taking nearly three years to complete, the recording of the album was clearly difficult, and tensions between Slash, Izzy Stradlin and Axl Rose are evident from the start. The two guitarists, particularly Stradlin, are trying to keep the band closer to its Hard Rock roots, but Rose has pretensions of being Queen and Elton John, which is particularly odd for a notoriously homophobic Midwestern boy. Conceivably, the two aspirations could have been divided between the two records, but instead they are just thrown into the blender - it's just a coincidence that "Use Your Illusion I" is a Harder-Rocking record than "Use Your Illusion II". Stradlin has a stronger presence on "Use Your Illusion I", contributing three of the best songs, "Dust n' Bones", "You Ain't the First" and "Double Talkin' Jive", which help keep the album in Stonesy Aerosmith territory. On the whole, the album is stronger than "Use Your Illusion II", even though there's a fair amount of filler, including a dippy psychedelic collaboration with Alice Cooper and a song that takes its title from the Osmonds' biggest hit. But it also has two ambitious set pieces, "November Rain" and "Coma", which find Rose fulfilling his ambitions, as well as the ferocious, Metallic "Perfect Crime" and the original version of the power ballad "Don't Cry." Still, it can be a chore to find the highlights on the record amid the overblown production and endless amounts of filler.

The first re-release of the debut full-length studio album by British Heavy Metal band, side project of Rob Halford, vocalist of legendary Judas Priest.
Former Judas Priest vocalist Rob Halford finally re-embraced his roots, formed a band simply called Halford, and recorded a tremendous album of pure Heavy Metal!
His three early-90s Fight releases were Metallic, unlike 1998s disastrous Two album, "Voyeurs", which was executive produced by Trent Reznor. Add to the musical shift Halford's new makeup-heavy image, and public admission of his homosexuality and longtime fans were surprised, to say the least.
Now, Halford brought out the leather and motorcycle and recruited guitarists Patrick Lachman and Mike Chlasciak, bassist Ray Riendeau, and drummer Bobby Jarzombek to start over. The presence of this new band and producer Roy Z obviously inspired Halford because "Resurrection" is a triumphant return to form. It's the real thing, none of that Rap-Metal, Alternative-Metal hybrid stuff. Halford stretches his voice out by utilizing everything from piercing falsetto wails to sinister, throaty rumbles. 
The album includes "The One You Love to Hate" song, featuring Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson. "Silent Screams" is a re-recorded song that was originally written by Halford's previous band, Two.
In September 2003, "Resurrection" was ranked number 54 on a list of "The Top 100 Heavy Metal Albums" by online magazine Metal-Rules.com. In 2005, "Resurrection" was ranked number 320 in Rock Hard Magazine's book "The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time".

Formerly known as Hanover Fist, Hanover is the brainchild of Frank Zirone and the first band in discography of legendary drummer Mike Terrána (Axel Rudi Pell, Haggard, Tony MacAlpine, Yngwie Malmsteen, Masterplan, Metalium, Rage, Squealer, Tarja Turunen, Theodore Ziras and more).
From the start, the album was released as self-titled album (“Hanover Fist”) in Canada only. And later same year, after band change name, it was re-released worldwide as “Hungry Eyes”, with the new cover artwork and one new track (instead two others, that was missed).
The Single "Metal Of The Night" appeared on the soundtrack of a 1984 movie called “The Wild Life”.

The first re-release of the debut full-length studio album by cult German Power/Thrash Metal band.
Headhunter was founded in 1989 under the name Curse, after Schmier was fired from Destruction. They recorded a 6-song demo in 1989/90, all the tracks of which later being re-recorded for the "Parody Of Life" debut album. Headhunter released three albums and toured Germany and Japan before splitting up in the mid-90s. Years later, they reformed and released another album in 2008.
