After the impressive and intense "The Human Machine" from 2010, Master re-emerged with "The New Elite in 2012. 11 tracks of sadistic, blood-pumping Death Metal that is always steeped in Thrash Metal elements that satiate and subdue the wandering nomad fan of both genres. While there is no denying the absolute tenacity with which Master assembles and shatters the psyche within the span of any one album, "The New Elite" is a vile slab of musical vermin that is about as brutal as it comes while still retaining a perfect balance between guttural noise and intelligent Metal easily consumable in large portions.
Arguably one of the first Death Metal vocalists along with Kam Lee or Jeff Becerra, Speckmann’s throaty, almost hoarse delivery belches and bellows out over the din of some speedy guitar work that pummels the senses as much as it impresses. The initial first tracks in “The New Elite” and “Rise Up and Fight” show that Master is still at the top of its game, both lyrically and musically. Slower tracks like “Redirect the Evil” harken back to a time when Possessed and Dark Angel reigned supreme in the West Coast dominion. The sound is a total encompassing of the Swedish sound of the late 80s/early 90s and a modern Underground anger employed by only a few cellar-dweller bands that ‘get’ it.
We expected all of this and more from Master, and they failed to disappoint, as usual!

The second re-release of the seventh full-length studio album by legendary American/Czech Death/Thrash Metal band.
Being a true originator of Death Metal, with this album Master holds Death Metal, Thrash Metal, even some Punky moments and a Country song!
The album starts off with the Thrashy “You’ll Be Blamed”, which is reminiscent of the earlier "Collection Of Souls" album (though catchier) and with Abomination tendencies. Also, a song such as “Sign Up” is very Old-school Thrash Metal with those typical harsh Speckmann vocals. “The Serpents Tongue” is a straight forward uptempo Death Metal tune and the same goes for “Whatever, Wherever, Forever”. The song “The Perfect Family” comes closest to the D-beat Master we got used to from their first two albums. A very nice surprise is the song “Pistols, Whips and Coyotes”, which refers a lot to Macabre in terms of riffs although sounding slightly simpler because of the drums. Had Dennis The Menace played on this song, nobody would have noticed it isn’t Macabre. The Punky attitude of the album becomes most obvious on songs such as “Rights of Life” and “Envy” (which almost sound like 1987-1991 era Sodom). The most notable song is the Punk song “Another Day in Phoenix” which even has some clean vocals and incidentally is one of the highlights of the album. We also should not forget to mention closing song “Ring Of Fire”, a Johnny Cash cover including the trumpets.
"Spirit Of The West" is one of the most diverse and surprising Master albums yet!

One thing we always understand when engaging a Master is that we will always get the same high quality of music. What you do come to expect (and always receive) is a well-constructed and integral release with music that really sums up Death Metal goodness. "The Witch Hunt" is a welcome addition to the long list of musical lessons main man Paul Speckmann has to teach. After the more than solid effort in "The New Elite", Speckmann still manages to incite and ignite the inner consciousness by delving into the political, social, and mental arenas with all of the subtly of a swarm of Asian hornets.
A fine element attributed to every Master release is the heavy, thick sound that manages to suffocate the willing listener. Musically, Master creates some old-school Chicago-style Metal music that sort of harkens back to the early 80s traditional brand with a little more kick to the throat. With the last few records, Master calls upon the Death, Speed, Traditional and Thrash Metal genres with such careful perfection that fans of the aforementioned areas would most likely dig them.
"The Witch Hunt", as usual, tackles everything from cretins occupying space in governmental positions of power (“Remove the Clowns”) to the overwhelming, subjugating feelings of suicide (“Another Suicide”). He’s never shied away from painting such brutal truths on everyday canvases that any awakened mind can employ and ingest.
"The Witch Hunt" provides a full-on aggressive look at the workings of the world around us and calls out the imperfections and flat-out wrongs orchestrated on a blinded, oblivious herd.

Cutthroat and aggressive Death Metal with some Thrash tendencies! Master are one of the original US Death Metal bands, founded in 1983, and is now reissuing their fourteen albums. If you’re wondering why this band has such staying power, just listen to their 1991 album "On the Seventh Day God Created… Master" — the music speaks for itself.
Master’s sound always stayed rooted in the Extreme Metal of the 1980s, it has some Thrash Metal or Hardcore Punk accents. Lyrically they are also not cut from the same cloth as your typical Death Metal band, the themes are political and societal, we often get a bitter or snarky commentary on American society and politics. The playing is mechanically precise; what gives the music character are Speckmann’s grimy vocals. The first studio album of the band to feature drummer Brann Dailor as their third lead vocalist.
Because the elements of fire, water and earth have already been represented by the band's first three albums, this one represents the element of aether, which is represented by the souls and spirits of all things, a theme closely related to the context of the album.
The album debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200, selling 41,000 copies in its first week. In Australia, the album debuted at number 19.
By numerous music publications, "Crack The Skye" was named amongst the most well received albums of 2009. Classic Rock Magazine placed it a #3 of its 'Top Albums of 2009', while Kerrang! place it at #4 in its 'Top Albums of 2009'. Time Magazine placed "Crack the Skye" at #3 on its "Top 10 Albums of 2009" list, and Rock Sound named it their Album of the Year for 2009. The fourth full-length album by cult Norwegian Black Metal band.
Mayhem’s "Ordo Ad Chao" supposed to be one of the best Black Metal releases of the year, if not the best Metal release of the year period.
It is the first Mayhem album to feature vocalist Attila Csihar since the 1994 album "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas"; he was returned to the band a couple years ago. Blasphemer said in an interview with Inferno Magazine that Necrobutcher did not play the bass guitar on the album, despite being credited in the booklet. Drummer Jan Axel Blomberg (Hellhammer) said that the drum tracks were not equalized and only the bass drums were triggered. His drumming is simply crushing. He ended saying "the production sounds necro as f**k, but that's the way we wanted it – this time. It represents Mayhem today". Attila's vocals are harsh and demonic, and his return has improved the band's sound.
Indeed, the sound of the album is much rawer than that of any official Mayhem studio release since "Deathcrush" EP, with a very bass-heavy mix. Despite that, the album continues the somewhat unorthodox songwriting approach showcased on the band's last two releases, with "Illuminate Eliminate" being the band's second longest song. The album features some Death grunts and clean vocals. However, "Grand Declaration Of War" features more clean vocals.
The 2007 version of Mayhem is as grim as ever, and "Ordo Ad Chao" is an outstanding Black Metal album. The production is sparse and low-fi,with a lot of treble and not much bass. The songs are evil and disturbing in true Mayhem fashion, and once your ears adjust to the production style it's even better.
The album is very atmospheric, but there are also some interesting riffs that catch your ear.
Mayhem helped define a genre of music, and there's always the concern that a veteran band just doesn't have it any more. That's not the case with Mayhem, who continues to define Black Metal with another memorable album.
The album was charted at #12 in Norway, making it the band's highest charting album yet.

Maze of Feelings is an unusual band with two vocalists in the line-up, which are responsible for the variety of voices ranging from scream and growl to narrative and epic clean vocals that saturate music, which is an organic composition of Doom/Death Metal and Dark Metal.
The harsh and heavy compositions of the album, appearing quite straightforward at first glance, will immediately reveal many expressed emotions. The varied vocal styles and smattering of Death and even Atmospheric Metal elements really make for a unique sound. A listening to the entire album at one time might make you feel like the world is closing in around you… which of course is the idea.

The sixth full-length studio album by legendary American Pop Rock/Hard Rock singer.
The second album in the "Bat Out Of Hell" trilogy, which was written and produced by Jim Steinman. It was released on September 14, 1993, sixteen years after Meat Loaf's first solo album, "Bat Out Of Hell". The album was released by Virgin Records outside of North America, where it was released by MCA. The third part of the trilogy, "Bat Out Of Hell III: The Monster Is Loose", was released in 2006.
Like the first album of the trilogy, "Bat Out Of Hell II" was a commercial success, and sold over 14 million copies worldwide.
The album reached number 1 in the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. Five tracks were released as Singles, including "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)", which reached number 1 in 28 countries. It was number one for one week in the US on the Billboard 200, the UK Albums Chart for eleven non-consecutive weeks, number one in Australia for four weeks, and eight weeks at number one in Canada. Second official compilation album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
The title "Capitol Punishment" is a pun with "Capital Punishment" and it refers to the fact that there was an album left on the contract for Megadeth to release via Capitol before they can leave. So the label released this compilation. Hence this is the last release via Capitol. "Kill the King" and "Dread and the Fugitive Mind" were new recordings done for this release. With the exception of material from the band's debut album, "Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!", which was released on Combat Records rather than Capitol, the compilation contains songs from all Megadeth's previously released albums at the time. In addition to the new track "Kill the King", Capitol insisted on the inclusion of "Dread and the Fugitive Mind", a track recorded for the "The World Needs A Hero" album, then in the production stage. The band agreed simply to release themselves from their obligations to Capitol, but the enmity between band and label was memorialized in the title of the album, intended to demonstrate that working with Capitol was a form of punishment :). At the end of the album, there is a hidden medley track, "Capitol Punishment", which is 4:46.
As of December 2005, Capitol Punishment had sold over 200,000 copies in the U.S.
This sure is a great CD and the world needs Megadeth back!!

It was recorded during the band's acclaimed 2012 Countdown To Extinction 20th Anniversary Tour at a show at Fox Theatre in Pomona, CA, on December 7, 2012, and features the band performing the entire "Countdown To Extinction" album.
Though Megadeth and their founder Dave Mustaine have spent their entire existence just a few steps behind Mustaine's former group Metallica, it's important to remember that they've also spent a lot of time as one of the most popular Metal bands in the world. The summit of their commercial success came in 1992 with fifth album "Countdown To Extinction", a creative high point from Mustaine and crew possibly spurred on in ways by the footrace with Metallica and the leaps in production made on their self-titled 1991 breakthrough album.
Twenty years later, "Countdown To Extinction" still stood as Megadeth's best-selling album, and in many circles, their most loved material. "Countdown To Extinction: Live" is a concert document of the 20th anniversary tour that found the band playing the album front to back, bookended by a few odds and ends from other albums. While the premise seems pretty rote, the execution of the live album is surprisingly interesting.
The album was released through Dave Mustaine's Tradecraft label in Blu-ray, DVD, and CD formats.
It was debuted at number 119 on the Billboard 200.

Remastered re-release of the seventh full-length studio album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
With "Youthanasia", Dave Mustaine began moving Megadeth away from its Thrash roots, incorporating synthesizers into their sound and writing subtle, textured songs. The album features 12 tracks with accessible song structures, specifically aimed for radio airplay. The lyrics were also altered, in order to make the music more inclusive for wider audience. These changes were met with mixed opinions from music critics, who noted the band moving away from their Thrash Metal roots.
This is the last Megadeth studio album to feature drummer Nick Menza. With "Youthanasia", Dave Mustaine began moving Megadeth away from its Thrash roots, incorporating synthesizers into their sound and writing subtle, textured songs. The fifteenth full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Produced by Mustaine and Chris Rakestraw, it was released on frontman and guitarist Dave Mustaine's Tradecraft label via Universal Music Group. Prior to “Dystopia”'s recording, longtime drummer Shawn Drover and guitarist Chris Broderick announced their departure from the band.
Musically, "Dystopia" is more energetic and focused than anything Megadeth have released in quite a while. Following the lukewarm response to the band's previous album, 2013's “Super Collider”, “Dystopia” received largely favorable reaction from critics, being considered a return to form for the band. The album debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart, making “Dystopia” the band's second highest charting album in the U.S. after “Countdown To Extinction”, which peaked at number two in 1992. Additionally, the title track earned the band its first Grammy win (for Best Metal Performance) at the 59th Grammy Awards after eleven unsuccessful nominations. The album sold 148 000 copies in the US by December 2016, becoming the second biggest-selling Heavy Metal album released in 2016.
