The second full-length album by Italian Melodic Heavy Metal band.
These guys have been putting out their style of music since 2001. The band's first big success was the first prize at the "Rock Around The Road" festival in 2004. After that, Ibridoma have started to work on their own material and, finally, in 2005 they released their debut EP with the title "Lady Of Darkness". This album received some solid reviews in the net and Ibridoma's future was looking bright! In 2007, guitarist Marco Vitali came on board and "Page 26", their debut album, was a fact. The band participated in many live gigs and toured with big names such as Uli Jon Roth, Richie Kotzen and Blaze Bayley among others.
The band has gone through changes over the years, but has kept the core of their sound the same throughout the years. They have a little bit of 70's Hard Rock sound with some Progressive Rock influences, and more 80’s Heavy Metal Style shining through in places. This 80's Heavy Metal sound at times mixed with some more Modern Rock elements. These guys are moving in the safe old-fashioned Metal paths with a more fresh air and, it's sure, that the final result will please most of the 'old' Metal/Hard rock fans out there. The band reminds of a lot of the Heavy Metal bands from the late 70's and 80's that have stayed together and progressed their sound to a more Modern Metal style. If you were to blend elements of old and new material from Aerosmith, Kiss, Mötley Crüe, Poison & L.A. Guns together then you'd have a decent idea of what these guys have to offer. The fourth full-length studio album by Italian Heavy/Power Metal band.
Italian Traditional Heavy Metal School is something different from the others, having some peculiarities that you won’t find in any other country in the entire world. The main feature that calls our attention is that the bands from the country use a great amount of weight, and they sound truly aggressive and modern. This is that case of the quintet Ibridoma, from Morrovalle, that is back with their latest album, “December”. Their musical work is based in great catchy melodies, but with the modern aggressiveness that we usually see from Judas Priest and Metal Church works, but with a clear melodic sense, and a good dose of musical accessibility (pay attention the choruses) is what make their songs sound personal and different.
The sound quality is very good, a fine work, indeed. The balance between weight, melodies and aggressiveness is almost perfect. But, looking back to their previous works, we can say that “December” is clearly the heavier album of the band, and as well, their arrangements are better than before.
The artwork of the album is a fine piece created by the Brazilian artist Gustavo Sazes. The experience of playing with bands such as Sabaton and Queensryche is making the difference on “December”, and the album has two especial guests: Paul "The Beast" Di’Anno on “I’m a Bully” and Blaze Bayley on “Land of Flames”.
The quality level is high, and “December” makes our adrenaline levels run of the scales! Listen to it loud, because Ibridoma is one of the finest bands in Italy!!

The third full-length album by Italian Heavy/Power Metal band.
With two EPs and three full-length albums already under their belt, Ibridoma have been around for quite some time. Their stance is one that should be familiar to those who love the Traditional aspects of the 1980’s – locked and loaded tempos that are steady and smooth with occasionally fill and double bass flourishes, easy on the ears melodies and vocal harmonies for emphasis during the choruses, and the guitars ringing out chord and riff progressions that make consumers throw out Metal signs and head bang.
Upon listening to a snippet of "Goodbye Nation", we hear that Ibridoma are a heavier Power Metal band with a dual guitar sound and heavy drums that is closer to Thrash Metal. The songs such as “My Star” and the title cut straddle the line between conventional acts like Primal Fear or Judas Priest and then a little bit of the Sunset Strip sound from say Babylon A.D. or Junkyard. Instead of tacking on a ballad towards the conclusion of the record, “Anja” appears as track four, the lead break very understated and complementary to the back and forth clean verses and heavier bridge/chorus instrumentation. The heavier, chunky staccato riffs during “You Are A Liar” work brilliantly against the sinister, maniacal vocal parts from Christian.
On three of the nine songs on "Goodbye Nation" Ibridoma recruited guest vocalists including Rhapsody Of Fire's Fabio Lione, Primal Fear's Ralf Scheepers, and Infernal Poetry’s Paolo Ojetti!
Massive Heavy Rock with the unmistakable Christian voice that weaves light melodies as counterpoint of a granitic sound. An album that will satisfy both the old school defenders and the lovers of new sounds! “Goodbye Nation” will find a home in some record collections for sure!!

Re-release of the debut self-titled full-length album by Italian Melodic Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
Essentially, Ibridoma are as classic as Heavy Metal can possibly get. About everything non-cheesy Heavy Metal stands for is taken in on this debut release. So much that you practically get a black leather biker jacket for free when you purchase the album. It sounds pretty much exactly like everything that has ever been released in the Heavy Metal back catalogue. Ibridoma are doing it proudly according to the rules in the book of Heavy Metal. The songwriting is simple yet effective and even a little catchy. It's fairly easy to give in to Ibridoma's Heavy Metal magic, really. The guitar work is pretty hooky, but the riffs won't necessarily stick in your head for days. Though, the ease of their mid-tempo sound should make Ibridoma a reasonably popular band, not in the least in their home districts.
What Ibridoma are bringing has been done countless times before. But if your time machine has broken down and you're feeling a bit nostalgic, you should give this safe yet palatable release a try!

The third full-length studio album by Italian Heavy Metal band.
After seven years of existence, Icy Steel propitiously released their third full-length work. With the addition of the new drummer Flavio Fancellu, the line-up is now steady and ready to go further. Always honoring their Heavy Metal roots, they have embellished their music with Epic, a few Folk and acoustic elements.
Generally, the album contains mid-tempo Heavy Metal tunes with Atmospheric, Epic and pompous features. Due to its Traditional Metal character, the album is mostly addressing to the Metalheads that fancy Heavy Metal music of the 80s.

This is an album that’s as insane as the album cover. This album is an absolute mind-bending mix of Extreme Metal, Noise, Classical, and Experimental craziness. Almost any musical genre you can name is represented on this album somewhere. This includes Opera, Progressive Metal, Drum & Bass, Electronica, musical influences from various countries and cultures, Technical Metal, Jazz, Noisecore, Grindcore, Black Metal, Death Metal, Trip Hop, Djent, and many, many more. A multitude of guest musicians and vocalists appear across the songs (including the singer of Cattle Decapitation), helping to realize the main artist and songwriter’s far-reaching vision of what his music should sound like.
French musician Gautier Serre (aka Igorrr) titled one of his releases Baroquecore, and while his work does include mutilated breakbeats and majestic harpsichord played at jackhammer speed, those are only a fraction of the elements incorporated into his impossibly complex and eclectic compositions. He finds common ground between the intensity of Metal and Opera, with impassioned screaming, bludgeoning Grindcore blast beats, and jagged guitar riffs coexisting with graceful arias. There's also a significant amount of acoustic instrumentation drawn from various Eastern European musical traditions, including ravishing violin, festive horns, and jaunty accordions, as well as Balkan choral vocals. Serre acknowledges Gypsy ensemble Taraf de Haïdouks as an influence, along with Cannibal Corpse and Aphex Twin, among many others.
Over a dozen guest musicians and singers contribute their talents, including members of Mayhem, Cattle Decapitation, Secret Chiefs 3, and Pryapisme, as well as operatic vocalists Laurent Lunoir and Laure Le Prunenec.
Serre's fusion of acoustic and electronic instruments is tighter and more refined than ever, and while "Savage Sinusoid" sounds unmistakably like an Igorrr album, he hasn't come close to sounding predictable yet. Serre has continually outdone himself with each successive Igorrr release, and this is no different -- it's even more exciting and confounding than 2012's "Hallelujah" (which included many of the same musicians) and 2014's "Maigre" EP (with Ruby My Dear).
These songs are master crafted examples of how to create music that crosses boundaries with ease, and the album shows a healthy disdain for normal musical conventions. Don’t be fooled by the music’s unexpected detours, though; everything here has been meticulously examined so that everything is in the right place at the right time for maximum effect. Nothing here has been improvised or left to chance. It all comes together extremely well and works a treat. This is only possible due to the talents of the man behind the music.
Although undoubtedly a full-on mash-up of insanity and diverse tastes, the fact is that "Savage Sinusoid" is done so very well that the unusual and frequently unpredictable journey it takes you on is definitely one that’s worth taking. It’s hideously impressive! And, if you can handle its eclectic nature, hideously enjoyable. This is challenging music for people that are not afraid to stray beyond the average. "Savage Sinusoid" is a magnificent, surreal, sumptuous joy!!

The sound of this album is ranging from Atmospheric Black to Psychedelic Rock, crosing the Crust and Punk. A raw voice more akin to classic Black Metal forms and the Dark Metal genre.
The album has a great freshness, and invites listener with great claims of the variety of sounds. Especially in the sound and rhythmic variety, with structures of very affordable string instruments, but whose batteries overhang long, with unusual rhythms within this style.
This album is an excellent door to progress and searching for more interesting genres than we know!

Danish female-fronted Melodic Death Metal band return with their fourth album that showcase the band’s progression which has now fine-tuned its style. Leaving completely aside keyboards and other Symphonic elements, this is pure, hard-pounding aggressive Metal! “4 Shades Of Me” is a follow-up to the band’s highly acclaimed 2011 album, “Third Act in the Theatre of Madness”. An album that has helped the band gain a lot more followers all over the world and of course helped secure live appearances and tours in different countries.
This album is a great sample of Blackened Thrash/Death approach. Band combines the three basic extreme genres and with the energy they have, they are worth checking for at first place.
The surprise is the furious vocals of Mona Beck, maybe some of the fans don’t know about a woman behind the microphone, then their jaws will drop instantly. Forget the approach of Angela Gossow of Arch Enemy or Rachel from Sinister, this girl shows how a woman must sound in an Extreme Metal album! She makes the album flow even quicker than the almost 39 minutes of its duration, as you feel that all the members are in a race to reach her affinity, with the guitars having the leading role and the rhythm section (especially the kick-ass play of the drummer) raising the final outcome at least a level up.
Another very good album from Denmark. All fans of extreme music must find some time and listen to this album! Brutality, melody, speed, great production and good compositions are only a few of the positives. The rest are yours to discover!

In 1993, Immortal released what is considered to be their sophomore work, "Pure Holocaust". Two years later, they decided to go a little harsher, to produce a colder album: something on which we can bestow the term "grim and frostbitten". “Battles In The North” picks up where its predecessor, “Pure Holocaust”, left off with extreme speed and Lo/Fi production and lyrics about coldness and winter landscapes.
The songwriting on this album is awesome. Demonaz slams us with riff after riff, each more atmospheric and catchy than the one preceding it. Those riffs are harsh, harsher than on "Pure Holocaust", but still, they retain the melodic edge, and they go well with Abbath's drumming, which is just amazing and sounds very natural. And not only does Abbath succeed in creating some of the best blast-beats ever, but he also does great work with the slow parts. Great Black Metal drumming. The bass is buried deep beneath the other instruments, but since this is Black Metal, there isn't a big problem. Concerning the vocals, Abbath is as strong and mighty as ever, and in addition to handling the drums and bass, this king of northern darkness's vocals are more "croaky" than on "Pure Holocaust", which is a good thing actually, and gives this album a slab of originality.
Overall, the instruments (and vocals) intertwine well with each other, creating an atmosphere not a lot of Black Metal artists have: an atmosphere of a devastating snowstorm in the mountains of Norway. The mix is quite strange, with the drums and vocals getting a higher volume than the guitars, and although this adds to the stormy atmosphere.
Like “Pure Holocaust”, it is also considered to be a classic album in Black Metal. This is also the first album where the concept of Blashyrkh becomes a central focus for the album. The concept continues through all of their subsequent albums. And it’s also the last album to feature Abbath on drums. The video for "Grim and Frostbitten Kingdoms" featured Hellhammer on drums.
"Battles In The North" is a great album, an awesome record from the legendary Norse band; it's an essential true Black Metal record. If you're a fan of Black Metal, you should go ahead and grab this right now, for it will surely throw you in the midst of the tempest and destroy your mind with awesome riffs and brutal drumming!!

Overall, the instruments (and vocals) intertwine well with each other, creating an atmosphere not a lot of Black Metal artists have: an atmosphere of a devastating snowstorm in the mountains of Norway. The mix is quite strange, with the drums and vocals getting a higher volume than the guitars, and although this adds to the stormy atmosphere.
Like “Pure Holocaust”, it is also considered to be a classic album in Black Metal. This is also the first album where the concept of Blashyrkh becomes a central focus for the album. The concept continues through all of their subsequent albums. And it’s also the last album to feature Abbath on drums. Video for "Grim and Frostbitten Kingdoms" featured Hellhammer on drums.
"Battles In The North" is a great album, an awesome record from the legendary Norse band; it's an essential true Black Metal record. If you're a fan of Black Metal, you should go ahead and grab this right now, for it will surely throw you in the midst of a tempest and destroy your mind with awesome riffs and brutal drumming!!

The fourth full-length studio album by legendary Norwegian Black Metal band.
The last Immortal album to feature founding member Demonaz Doom Occulta on guitar, and the first to feature Horgh on drums. Demonaz was diagnosed with acute tendinitis, which prevented him from playing guitar at the required speed for Immortal's music.
How should we consider Immortal’s "Blizzard Beasts"? It’s undoubtedly the band’s weakest record, but is it a total misstep? Perhaps not. The terrible production of this album has been much discussed on reviews and forums. Immortal have slightly changed their sound from their previous three albums. There are many things on here that we can consider a great improvement from previous works. First of all, the songs sound slightly more varied, even the ones on the one album. Abbath is no longer playing the drums. He is a very good musician, but drums just didn’t seem like his thing, he made many mistakes, and it almost seemed like he wasn’t able to keep up with the speed he needed to drum at. Horgh does a great job keeping up with the speed of the guitars on this album and doesn't rely entirely on blastbeats, which is always a positive. Also, the songs, instead of sounding like plain Raw Black Metal, they are slightly more melodic, some acoustic parts come back, there are even moments when you can hear some Thrash Metal incorporated into Black Metal, and Abbath’s vocals are much better, have more strength in them, and actually vary. Best of all, they even have some rhythm. It’s not like he’s just speaking them at random times. Some of his screams which were on “Diabolical Fulmoon Mysticism” also come back here.
The highlight track on here would have to be “Mountains of Might” which might as well be one of the best songs Immortal ever made. And this album’s true gem, with better production, could easily fit onto "At The Heart of Winter". One element of Black Metal’s power is to stimulate the listener’s imagination. With most 2nd-wave bands, this means traveling back to pagan blots, medieval battlefields and the shores of hell itself. However, Immortal created a whole world of their own with Blashyrkh, and this is best recalled on “Mountains of Might”. If anyone were to create a “Best of Immortal” release, this would definitely be the song to include from "Blizzard Beasts". Though we're should also say that “Winter of the Ages” is pretty sweet as well, but in more of the "Battles In The North" sense.
Ultimately, "Blizzard Beasts" should be chalked up as a transitional album in Immortal's mighty career, being the last to feature guitarist and founding member Denaz; bassist/vocalist Abbath would take over six-string and songwriting duties, ultimately leading the band out of blastbeat hell and across more broad-scoped, epic terrain. Still, it's hard to say about "Blizzard Beasts" as a failure; the record is brilliant when compared to similar Norwegian Black Metal acts mired in ludicrous "necro" aesthetics, but it just doesn't match up with Immortal's usual balance of Underground credibility with high production and songwriting standards.
Overall, this album is the point where Immortal slightly starts to vary from their older music, and while some don’t like this, it is an awesome progression from the older music!!

"Damned In Black" is the second album of Immortal's hellish Holy Trinity, released between creative breakthrough "At The Heart Of Winter" and well-honed masterpiece "Sons Of Northern Darkness".
In comparison, "Damned In Black" strikes one as being the family's nasty, spiteful little brother, sounding slightly rushed, unkempt, and panicky, with whirlwind blastbeats more prominent in the arrangements. But the album benefits from this approach; it's an angrier, more fiery record, especially during barnburners "Triumph", "My Dimension,", and "In Our Mystic Visions Blest", which nod respectfully toward the band's speed-drenched early days, albeit with the more balanced, well-crafted songwriting skills of latter-day Immortal.
"Against the Tide (In the Arctic World)", "The Darkness That Embrace Me", and the title track are more melodic and grandly epic, complex but never unwieldy. Immortal's greatest strength is their well-conceived instrumental approach - it's never self-indulgent or fanciful, always memorable, and only living to serve the song.
Producer Peter Tagtgren has seen many of his Scandinavian brethren through the doors of his Abyss Studios, but he's never gelled with any band quite like Immortal, giving the band a robust, deceptively simple, and consistently devastating mix.
Ultimately, "Damned In Black" proves that this Norwegian trio prays only to their armor-clad, bullet-belted Metal muse. While it will most likely be overlooked considering Immortal's brightest and deadliest moments came before and after it (respectively), "Damned In Black" proves to be just as powerful as anything else in the band's increasingly impressive canon!!
