The third full-length studio album by legendary British Dance-Pop band.
The album contains the band's most commercially successful Single to date, a cover version of Shocking Blue's 1969 song "Venus", which peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.
After becoming one of the biggest girl bands in U.K. Pop music history, and after scoring a Top Ten U.S. hit with "Cruel Summer", Bananarama reached the commercial pinnacle of their career with their third album. This album also marked an artistic change of pace for the trio because they began to utilize super hit producers Stock, Aitken & Waterman, who helped them turn the 1970 Rock hit "Venus" into an unstoppable, unforgettable dance smash. In fact, their version was so huge that it became their only U.S. number one hit. The rest of the album, however, is a little darker than one might expect, with heavy lyrics and themes permeating the songs.
Other highlights include the second single, "More Than Physical", which was also produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman, the moody third single, "Trick of the Night", the saucy "Hooked on Love", the Dance-Pop of "Promised Land", and the seductive "Dance with a Stranger".
"True Confessions" was a departure of sorts from the Post-Punk, New Wave girl band sound that made Bananarama so essential to early-'80s British Alt-Pop music. It represents a shift to Platinum success (which continued with their follow-up album, "Wow!"), and this album, along with the hit "Venus", are prime examples of classic '80s Dance-Pop music!
“True Confessions” reached number 46 on the UK Albums Chart and number 15 on the US Billboard 200.

The fourth full-length studio album by legendary Swedish Black Metal band.
Originally released in October 1988, through Music for Nations sublabel, Under One Flag, this is the first Bathory album that would use anonymous session musicians (credited under the Satanic pseudonyms "Kothaar" and "Vvort") until "Blood oOn Ice" released in 1996.
The album, although mostly Black Metal, includes some of the first examples of Viking Metal. According to the book "Black Metal: Evolution of the Cult" by Dayal Patterson, "Blood Fire Death" began a second trilogy, an era Quorthon described as the "pre-Christian Swedish Viking Era".
On "Blood Fire Death", Viking influences join for the first time the Black Metal coldness we are used to when hearing Bathory. A phenomenal masterpiece with a good balance between brutality and sublime melodies is the result.
In 2009, IGN included "Blood Fire Death" in their "10 Great Black Metal Albums" list. In 2023, Rolling Stone listed "A Fine Day to Die" as the 76th-best Metal song of all time.

The debut full-length album by Danish Thrash Metal band.
Battery making waves since their 2012 "Mental Pollution" EP. The band was formed in 2008 by drummer Andreas Joen and vocalist/guitarist Chris Steel after their previous outfit, Abattoir, disbanded. Since then they’ve released a trio of demos, the aforementioned EP, and now this, their first full-length album featuring ten solid Thrash metal tunes.
This is very much American-styled Thrash with a slight Crossover tinge, mainly in the manic vocal preaching of Steel who has a strained yet effective style. Musically it’s solid, often beefy and well-produced Thrash Metal with the usual influences ranging from San Francisco Bay Area crunch, a sprig of Slayer, Dark Angel et al and even the more Deathly influence of Possessed – again in Steel’s vocals.
While this 11-track opus rattles by, there are nonetheless some catchy numbers which stick in the head, the best examples being the paced ‘Pyramids Of Decept’, with its strong, yet smooth bass-lines, and the simmering menace of ‘Vermin Of Fukushima’, which begins as a Slayer-like dirge.
Far from being the world’s most groundbreaking thrash album however, "Armed With Rage" is still a furious cauldron stirred by those frenzied guitars and rumbling drums which Joen can be commended for.
Whether this platter has enough legs to carry it beyond the hordes of other Thrash bands piling onto the horizon we’ll just have to wait and see, but "Armed With Rage" boasts some very good numbers which should provide 40 minutes of assault and battery to the senses!!
