Debut EP by Canadian Heavy/Thrash Metal band.
Formed in August 2015 by ex- Exciter drummer Rik Charron, whose resume includes almost 20 years with legendary Canadian band, with five of their albums under his belt, this is the debut release of a new-born band Dark Ministry. In total, this heavy, extreme Thrash Metal band consists of dueling guitarists Max Neckshredder and David Tyo, the sonic assault of bassist Carlo Cote, extreme aggression vocalist Tyler Knapp, and aggressive, pounding attack of drummer Rik Charron.
The band traverses around a number of sub-genres, keeping things solid in a Traditional Heavy Metal format while occasionally veering into the Speed/Thrash or Groove Metal platforms. Riffs are sharp and aggressive. The voice of Tyler Knapp has one of those barking deliveries with aggression and old-school Hardcore singing (think Agnostic Front and D.R.I.).
The opener, “Killing Machine”, has a vicious, venomous attack, a charging guitar line with the vocals snarling against the arrangement in a classic back and forth Groove/Thrash arrangement that again hearkens back to the 1980’s with a lot of Anvil/ Exciter textures. Rik flexes more of his double bass proficiency and old Exciter speed on the follow up “Voodoo Sacrifice”, the main riff and changes, in line with Metallica meets Pantera. The exotic twin guitar lines make “Blood Driven” an easy highlight, the rhythm section works in line with straightforward Judas Priest power while the lead break has a lot of crazy bends and squeals to heighten the energy factor.
EP has already been heard on internet and FM stations in nine different countries around the world and sixteen in the United States. This EP is sure to please even the most heaviest and hardened Metal appetites. Mike Usifer, founder of Prime Evil, had a few words to say about Dark Ministry's music: "These songs kill! Awesome Extreme Thrash, heavy, I love it!". Maxxxwell Carlisle, guitarist for Hellion says: "These guys are going to make some serious waves in the Metal scene. The whole band is dripping with intensity and that perfect in-your-face Metal attitude!".

Album’s themes are monolithic and give a general tough tone for the all album. Symphonic instruments section emphasizes aggressive of the compositions in the album, and fully symphonic track "Septem Million" - a real step forward in the development of the band. The mystical and philosophical lyrics as well as outstanding musicians thoughtful approach to their creativity really highlights this good work.

The album consists of songs written over a decade. Each song reflects bands state of perception at a certain point but with common concept in mind. The album explores inherent human tendency to ignore the obvious.
Deface music is versatile, ranging from "three-riff songs" to complex and elaborate. Shredding mid to high tempo, each song represents complete composition structure.

"Defiled Embrace" song, that was actually the inspiration to the band's name, is a sad, depressive text of a person, mentally still a child, who constantly needs the love, care, and warmth of a mother figure, and yet wishes to be independent because his neediness harms him.
This melodic song brings sweeping melodies and harmonies to an already full table of angry growls and depressed whispers.

The song describes the grieving process of a man who lost his significant other, going from the suffering of watching her dying to missing her love and warm touch, and all the way into the urge to commemorate her.
Like the changing in the man's phases of grief, the song moves between sounds of clean, soothing guitars and heavy distortion, and Symphonic elements that give the song a dramatic feel.

"Pieces" takes the listener on a journey of suffering, dying and making peace with yourself and the life you lived, just as you're having your last moments in this world.
The song is a five minutes Doom Metal ballad that grows angry further and further. "Pieces" is the only song from the upcoming album that hosts a female vocalist — the great Reut Paz Natovich (Hellscore choir), who adds her angelic and dramatic voice to the mixture of emotions in the dying journey.
