The first re-release of the twenty-fourth full-length studio album by legendary American Classic Rock/Hard Rock singer.
After the return to the Garage Rock feel of "The Eyes Of Alice Cooper" Alice continued down the same road with "Dirty Diamonds". However, this is generally a more satisfying album with a greater diversity of material from the AC/DC’ Hard Rock of "Woman Of Mass Distraction", through the Stones’ "You Make Me Wanna" or "Perfect" to the Country feel of the hysterical "Saga of Jesse Jane".
Alice has evolved almost entirely from his Shock Rock image and, as he has throughout his career, displays his vocal dexterity as he moves from ballad to Hard Rock to humour. Although he's no longer the acknowledged prince of Shock Rock, "Zombie Dance" and "Run Down Down the Devil" are reminiscent of the time when he created the model for artists like Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie.
With 24 studio albums and 35 years of performing under his belt, Cooper is one of the few Classic Rock artists still performing whose current work is comparable to what he was doing at the peak of his popularity! A classic album!!

Like "Brutal Planet", the album displays a heavier style than many of his previous releases. Unarguably a continuation of “Brutal Planet”, with Cooper and Marlette again collaborating, and Cooper surrounding himself with a tighter than tight band – Eric Dover, Tim Pierce, Ryan Roxie and Kenny Aronoff.
Cooper and Marlette, by now enjoying a collusive and confident songwriting relationship, fan that creative spark into something more substantial on "Dragontown". Here, Cooper is guided by a greater sense of social commentary and narrative complexity. He torques up the tension on funereal elegy, "Deeper" and laces "Sex, Death & Money"’s morality tale with dark humour. "Somewhere In The Jungle" and "I Just Wanna Be God" are less about the music and more about creating a clinging, dream-like atmosphere, where the message is hammered home by heavyweight guitars and pounding beats. This time around, a couple of more commercial (or at least accessible) tracks are to be found among the grim tales of alienation and materialism. "Triggerman" keeps a foothold in Cooper’s big chorus, big hook past, and the endearing ballad, "Every Woman Has A Name" add greater musical and emotional range to "Dragontown", providing radio with an opportunity to play Cooper’s new music, without compromising anyone’s position.

The 80s had been a bad time for Alice Cooper. Nondescript albums and failed attempts at flirting with other musical tendencies had left the Shock King dangerously close to losing most of the fan base he had garnered in the 70s. Even the perfectly decent albums, like 1985’s "Constrictor", failed to convince or impress the fans, who longed for the halcyon days of "Killer". A comeback of sorts was made with 1988’s "Trash", an album that showed Alice revitalized and updated for the new decade, and flirting with the “in” sounds of the late 80s, namely Glam Rock. In view of that album’s acceptance and success, the exact same template was used for "Trash"’s follow-up, 1991s "Hey Stoopid". The results were, again, above average, even if this album is not as highly regarded as its predecessor.
For "Hey Stoopid", Alice takes his cues from what was still popular at the time: the vibrant, gushy, shiny Hard Rock of bands like Poison, Warrant or Firehouse. It comes as no surprise, then, that "Burning Our Bed" comes across as something Guns’n’Roses may have written at the time, or that the overall sound relies heavily on the huge crunchy riffs, sweeping keyboards and shouty backing vocals of Glam Rock, while endowing them with an extra dosage of class.
Experienced artist and master songwriter that he is, Alice surrounds himself with the cream of the Hard Rock crop this time around. His “regular” band consists of guitarist Stef Burns, bassist Hugh McDonald, drummer Mickey Curry and keyboardists Robert Bailey and John Webster. However, the album is absolutely littered with guest appearances, including: Slash, Joe Satriani, Vinnie Moore and Steve Vai, Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx and Mick Mars (who co-wrote “Die For You”), plus Ozzy Osbourne providing backing vocals on the album’s title track. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, provided the spoken word part on “Feed My Frankenstein”, a song co-written by Zodiac Mindwarp.
The album was produced by Peter Collins, famed for his work with Rush and Queensyrche, among many others. The album featured three hit singles: the title track, “Love’s A Loaded Gun” and “Feed My Frankenstein” (the latter was performed in the 1992 comedy film "Wayne’s World", in which Alice also starred).
"Hey Stoopid" is heavily recommended to not only Alice fans, but Hard Rockers in general.

The band's stage show dealt with the macabre, and such disturbing tracks as "Dead Babies" and the title track fit in perfectly. Other songs were even more exceptional, such as the perennial barnstorming concert standard "Under My Wheels", the melodic yet gritty "Be My Lover", and the tribute to their fallen friend Jim Morrison, "Desperado". In the mid-'80s, Alice Cooper was able to crawl out of obscurity and rebuild his cult following. Though 1986's "Constrictor" and the supporting Nightmare Returns tour hardly commanded mainstream attention, the album and tour were his most successful in years, proving Cooper still had enough life to launch a full-fledged comeback. Not even a year after the release of "Constrictor", Cooper released "Raise Your Fist And Yell", which is more of a return to his dark thematic role than its predecessor.
The album continues the slasher film trend created by Cooper’s previous album "Constrictor". It's features the track “Prince of Darkness”, which is featured very briefly in the John Carpenter film of the same name, in which Cooper has a cameo as a murderous vagrant. The song can be heard on the Walkman of one of his victims. The track “Lock Me Up” features a guest appearance from Robert Englund, who portrayed Freddy Krueger in the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" series.
"Raise Your Fist And Yell" is the only Alice Cooper album to feature Ken K. Mary on drums and the second and last to feature Kip Winger on bass.
With "Raise Your Fist And Yell", Cooper embraced his past while still managing to sound fun and exciting. Overall, it still seems surprising that 1989's "Trash" completely deserted Cooper's menacing, villainous role. After all, "Raise Your Fist And Yell", though far from a highlight, showed Cooper was still able to provide both Rock anthems and theatrical experiments - and do it rather well, for that matter!

With this album, Cooper returned to his earlier Hard Rock sound, in the vein of "The Last Temptation", and left the Heavy Industrial Metal sound found in his previous two studio albums. This is a wonderfully refreshing album. It is very much a return to the style of the original Alice Cooper band; it sounds like a bunch of guys just jamming in someone's garage for a while and recording themselves for the hell of it. This album is simple, rough, and Punkish, veering away from the dark and sadistic direction Alice had previously taken. Most of this album is dominated by a very Old-school Rock And Roll approach; it is positively dripping with Iggy Pop and MC5 influence. This is a stripped-down Rock And Roll album with no frills, no gimmicks, and no-holds-barred Punk attitude. Yet another experiment pays off for Alice, who sounds right at home snarling and screaming these simple songs. This album has soul and spirit that very few other Alice Cooper albums possess; the rawness and simplicity convey a genuineness that makes hearing this album a rewarding experience.
The production isn't nearly as professional or clean as anything Alice did from the demise of the original band up to this point, and that is the best possible sound for "The Eyes Of Alice Cooper". The groovy bass and occasional saxophones help solidify the classic Rock And Roll aesthetic. It had been a long time since Alice Cooper released anything in this vein. Standouts like "What Do You Want From Me" and "I'm So Angry" are just the kind of loud, abrasive, fun music that the original Punk bands used to play in the '70s. The lyrics to "Detroit City" truly embody the nature of this album; it's a "Shock Rock choppin' block, songs to make your heart stop".
Of note is the album cover, which was released in four different versions, featuring alternate colours in Cooper's eyes and the crescent around the 'A' in the title. It was available in blue, green, purple, and red.

Alkoholizer are back! Brewed in 2006 in Sardinia and ready to party, their first bottle was called "Demo-Lizer" demo with four tracks. After that, a full-length album entitled "Drunk Or Dead..." made sure people got the message: beer and more beer, an excellent album and the bar was open.
After few problems with band members, they went off business for a while and now have returned thirstier than ever with a new formation as well. Vocalist Alessandro and drummer Gabriele, who both played on "Drunk Or Dead...", have departed. A new drummer has been brought in and bassist Fabrizio is now handling the vocals. Besides that, the band also recruited a second guitarist, which results in a couple of solo vs. solo situations. Also, Fabrizio taken on the vocals duties. In 2013, they released an EP to state that the Sardinian boars had returned and now we've been offered a new studio album.
Alkoholizer didn't want to change anything from their last record as Fabrizio's vocals is just a replica of Alessandro's. So, the recipe is here and it is very good, fans of Tankard will love this band and get drunk too; the production is very good, everything sounds cool and art cover is brilliant. Great melodies and crazy choruses, the guitars do a fantastic job and the drummer kicks asses; lots of variation, cool bass lines, solos and… f*ck it, you're going to open another beer!
Closes down the bar with golden keys... don't worry, tomorrow you're open it again! Excellent, excellent, great album, amazing work!!

Fronted by the charismatic Jacob Bredahl from the Danish Death Metal act Hatesphere and including two owners of Scarlet Records (drummer/co-founder Stefano Longhi and guitarist/co-founder Massimo Gajer) Allhelluja give the Metal world a much-needed kick in the ass by cranking up the volume (and attitude) and Rockin' the f**k out. Snippets of the filthy Metal Boogie of acts like Motörhead, a pinch of Entombed locomotive stomp, and a variety of Stoner-tinged and Southern fried Metal bands make "Pain Is The Gain" one hell of a party.
The late 2006 follow-up to 2005's "Inferno Museum" debut, is an explosion of dirty, Rock 'n' Roll infused Metal. A collection of hot licks that benefit from a mix that doesn't smooth out the edges and that periodically ride the Stoner Rock edge (e.g. "The Devil, Me, Myself and I") complement a rhythm section that is taut and rugged. Even beyond the catchy songwriting and somewhere-left-of-sane lyrics is a purity of delivery, a deservedly cocky demeanor, and a smack in the mouth to all who claim to be saviors of the Rock. And it doesn't mean that "Pain is the Game" is somehow groundbreaking - it's just an honest ball-buster of an album. Bredahl struts and swaggers all over this thing, his staccato vocal attack on the rollicking "Superhero Motherfucker Superman" and "Big Money, Sweet Money" enough to get even the most stoic fan moving and breaking sh*t.
Whether it is a straight-ahead rocker like album opener "Are You Ready? (Ready for your Massacre)", the knuckle-busting charge of "The King of Pain", or the nasty soul-burn of "Soul Man" (complete with one of the album's most psychotic lyrical tirades), Allhelluja hits it and quits it, leaving everyone in the vicinity drenched in sweat and bleeding from the ears.
Far too many of these faux Retro-Rock and 'core bands are missing the point about what it means to kick ass with a purpose, a passion, and a fifth of rot gut whiskey. Here's to letting it all hang out and then collapsing in a pool of your own vomit, Allhelluja -style!

Started as Manticore in 1988, the band changed name to Altar in 1990. With the release of their demo-tape "And God Created Satan To Blame For His Mistakes" back in 1992, the band started to become well-known in the Death Metal Underground scene. The tap sold worldwide very well, and soon every insider had heard of the brutal music and message Altar tried to spread. The first Altar's album, "Youth Against Christ", released in 1994, hit the scene with a shock. The intense brutality on this album got great reviews everywhere; it even went into the Dutch alternative charts.
This official re-issue of "And God Created Satan To Blame For His Mistakes" for the first time on CD features seven bonus tracks, recorded live in Rotterdam in early 1993. All songs are restored and remastered by Berthus Westerhuijs at Franky's Recording Kitchen (God Dethroned, Asphyx, Severe Torture) in 2016. New cover art made by Roberto Toderico (Asphyx, Soulburn, Sinister). The booklet contains many rare pics and an exclusive in-depth interview done by Pim Blankenstein (ex- Lords of Metal journalist and Officium Triste vocalist).

Debut full-length of Turkish Progressive Metal band with thrash rhythms and eastern influences (somewhat of a Turkish, Egyptian, Middle Eastern vibe). Altona manages to display their musical prowess and overall solid songwriting skills to create a well done progressive metal album. Many of the songs often time span their length allowing the instruments to take control and dominate the album. Altona have an impression debut on their hands, it's highly progressive metal with a intriguing vibe. Impressive musical talent reigns, with a strong bass and powerful rhythm section all with strong melodic leads and a decent vocal delivery, there isn't much wrong going on here. It's definitely mood music, atmospheric and powerful, but at times lacking with too much mellow and not enough oomph! Altona starts off strong though lacks a bit at the end, still an interesting listen, though should have stuck with a little more of the metal parts and less progressive doodling.

The third full-length album by the Swedish Melodic Hard Rock/Metal band.
Alyson Avenue is the female fronted band formed during the late ’90s, which arguably contributed to the resurgence of melodic Rock/AOR in the new millennium. Alyson Avenue put out two albums, "Presence Of Mind" in 2000 and "Omega" in 2004, both featuring Anette Olzon on lead vocals who shortly after exited the line up to join Finnish Metal stars Nightwish. With the addition of a male vocalist the members of Alyson Avenue re-grouped under the band-name of Second Heat releasing a self-titled debut before disbanding.
2011 finally sees the release of the new studio album "Changes" by Alyson Avenue now fronted by female vocalist Arabella Vitanic. To be accurate, founders Niclas Olson (keyboards) and Thomas Loyska (bass) put this latest line-up together in 2008; having toured and recorded extensively over the past three years so a full-length album was more than anticipated.
From the opening track, it becomes clear that line up is adamant in recreating the original Alyson Avenue sound established in the previous two albums, which also applies to the lead vocals. Arabella’s singing is practically identical in style and sound to Olzon. So upon first play it all sounds like the original line up Alyson Avenue.
"Changes", as a whole, bares the same high quality standards as the previous two albums in terms of songwriting and performance. In terms of production, "Changes" clearly raises the bar for Alyson Avenue as it is by far the best sounding of the three albums after all the material is mixed and co-produced by Chris Laney an authority in Melodic Rock engineering.
Album includes guest appearances by Anette Olzon (Ex-Nightwish, Ex-Alyson Avenue), Michael Bormann (Ex-Jaded Heart, Charade, BISS), Rob Marcello (Danger Danger, Marcello - Vestry), Fredrik Bergh (Street Talk, Bloodbound), Tommy Stråhle and Mike Andersson (Cloudscape, Planet Alliance).
Overall, "Changes" signifies a new chapter in Alyson Avenue’s history which is not dissimilar to the artistic direction of their past. "Changes" is a faithful continuation of the sound the band shaped a decade ago; therefore under no circumstances will this album alienate long-term fans of the band.
For fans of female fronted AOR/Melodic Hard Rock, "Changes" is nothing less than essential!!

The second full-length album by the Swedish Melodic Hard Rock band.
This is the band's final album with lead vocalist Anette Olzon, before being selected by Nightwish as their lead singer in 2007.
Olzon's overall performance is quite relaxed yet very convincing; what is surprising is that her subtle vocal approach fits amazingly even with the heavier-faster riffs of the album.
Apart from Olzon, the line up of "Omega" includes Tony Rohtla (guitar), Niclas Olsson (keys), Thomas Löyskä (bass) and Fredrik Eriksson (drums).
If the sound of AOR/Melodic Rock works for you, "Alyson Avenue" will keep you hooked for quite some time. If you are a fan of "Brother Firetribe", you should definitely explore this neighboring -high quality- band! Also recommended for fans of late 80's Whitesnake (on their AOR moments)!!
