The only live album by cult American Psychedelic/Jazz/Fusion/Blues Rock vocalist and multi-instrumentalist with his band White Thrash.
A powerful revue famous for their fusion of Funk, Gospel, R&B, and Rock 'n' Roll, the live follow-up to 1971's "Edgar Winter's White Trash" finds the band running through a handful of the tunes from their debut album, as well as rocking things up a bit with "Still Alive and Well" (a track later recorded by Edgar's brother Johnny) and "Back in the U.S.A.". 
The album was recorded before live audiences at the Apollo Theater and the Academy of Music in New York City and in Los Angeles at the legendary Whisky a Go Go nightclub.
Highlights include Winter's vocals and virtuoso keyboard work, plus the guitar styling of Rick Derringer. The longest track on the album was the band's own version of the John D. Loudermilk song, "Tobacco Road", which lasted over 17 minutes, taking up an entire side of the album. Derringer contributed lead vocals to "Still Alive and Well" and "Back in the USA", and Johnny Winter made a special appearance singing lead and playing guitar on "Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo". Louisiana native Jerry LaCroix, who shared lead vocals with Winter in White Trash, is also prominently featured.
One of the most immortal lines for any live Rock album has to be "People keep askin' me: where's your brother?" - the introduction of guest artist Johnny Winter by his brother Edgar sets the stage for a rousing rendition of Rick Derringer's "Rock & Roll, Hoochie Koo". The extended version of Blues classic "Tobacco Road" is one of the finest moments on this album, which is itself a classic.
The album was certified Gold December 18, 1974 by the RIAA.

"Defenders Of The Crown" marks Edguy's return, and it was preceded by cautious and safe statements from the band's side. Band finally decided to listen to the fans' prayers and to take a step back, to disown that kind of weak Power Hard Rock of which their recent works were tainted, embracing again the sound Edguy mastered through the years. "Defenders Of The Crown" embodies once again the typical German Power Metal style: heavy, fast and cheesy, incredibly catchy, and with a stellar performance by Sammet and his bandmates. This album proves these guys are still hot and burning!
Quite ironically, while Avantasia was born from a rib of Edguy, now the first is bringing the latter back to life, since "Defenders Of The Crown" has many Avantasia traits. From the opener "Sabre & Torch", that many correctly matched with "Invoke The Machine" from 2013's "The Mystery Of Time", to the 9-minute closer "The Eternal Wayfarer", which just sounds like Edguy covering Led Zeppelin, everything is over the top and epic. But, obviously, this is Edguy. The fun traits of the band also shine here, both with Tobi's well-known antics spread over various tracks ("Do Me Like A Caveman") and in the rather unexpected cover of Falco's "Rock Me Amadeus". Some of you will cry while blessing your ears with it!
"Defenders Of The Crown" is a great release, the first in a long time that doesn't cast aspersions on "Mandrake" and "Hellfire Club" 's memory. With restored songwriting and musicianship, Edguy are back on track!! Back to Baba Yaga!!!)

The eighth full-length studio album by legendary German Power Metal band.
Edguy don't go back to their roots, they don't conquer new musical territory - they're simply themselves and bash out trademark Edguy hits without repeating themselves. Harder and more straightforward than its predecessor!
The album combines Progressive-oriented Hard Rock heard on their previous album, "Rocket Ride", with elements of Speed Metal.
Never ones to take themselves too seriously, German Melodic Power Metal stalwarts Edguy (hello, they are called Edguy, not Glory Storm, or some such nonsense) immediately dispel the none-more-gray cover art sobriety of their eighth studio album -- featuring an agonizing marble Jesus, with the tongue-in-cheek title Tinnitus Sanctus. This upbeat stance may rub a few, humorless Metal fans the wrong way, of course, but it's served Edguy particularly well in a crowded scene, jam-packed with surly Germans, too swept up in their own sub-Tolkien mythology and sub-Iron Maiden songwriting to write a clever lyric now and then.
Edguy, on the other hand, rarely lack for clever lyrics, and, as it turns out, "Tinnitus Sanctus" is named that way because a number of its songs reflect the band's tragic-comic thoughts on religion, and none more so than its opening, two-punch combination of "Ministry of Saints" and "Sex Fire Religion".
Musically, the band continues to avoid excessive displays of macho, Thrash-fueled velocity, and therefore neatly avoid the repetition that tends to come with it. Rather, they generally embrace a more accessible, mid-paced Heavy Rock style partial to chorused vocals, perfect for would-be singles like "Nine Lives", the Winger-like "Thorn Without a Rose", and the amusing Frankenstein tale, "The Pride of Creation", which is sort of like "The Gospel According to Spinal Tap", except listeners will be laughing with the band instead of at them.
"Tinnitus Sanctus" is an honest album from a band that has truly got better over the years. Get this one if you want your ears to be ringing this Christmas!

Mark’s drumming is totally inspired by ‘90s Floridian Death Metal and Californian Thrash Metal. Frank and Luca’s riffing by American as well as European Death/Thrash Metal (Morbid Angel, Deicide, Malevolent Creation, Slayer, Pestilence, Death, Coroner, Obituary, Dismember, Kreator, Sepultura). The resulting mixture is mutant and destructive.
Each song is in its own right, united by a logical thread that leads back, to the human ego and its artifices.
"Like Shadows" is a work that does not want to give off hatred and give certainty, but to ask questions and shift attention where there is no light, but a blanket of fog that shows only apparent nothingness.

First compilation album by Canadian Power/Thrash/Speed Metal band.
This release is a collection of demos recorded between March & July 1995 at Eclipse Recording Studios, most of which were previously unreleased.
Eidolon dates back to 1993 when Glen and Shawn Drover made the decision to start up a recording studio, a couple of demos was recorded in 1994/1995, their 1996 “Zero Hour” debut was self-produced and self-released. Eidolon was signed to Metal Blade Records before their 2000 release “Nightmare World”. The year after “Hallowed Apparition” was released and they played the Bang Your Head Festival in Germany with Judas Priest, Megadeth, Stratovarius, etc. In 2003, when “Sacred Shrine” was released, the band traveled to Germany once again this time to play on the Wacken Festival alongside Twisted Sister, Slayer, Annihilator, etc. In 2004 Glen and Shawn Drover joined Megadeth and Eidolon was put on hold.
According to guitarist Glen Drover: “We worked with Tom Mathers at Perris Records for the very first Eidolon CD "Zero Hour" and had a great experience with him, so when the idea of possibly releasing this program became more serious, we decided that it would be cool to do an exclusive release with them! This recording shows the beginning of the band, and is a good indication of where we were going!”

Debut full-length album by Progressive/Space Rock band from Mexico.
This album by a Mexican quartet obviously influenced by mid period Pink Floyd. There are some vocals, but the emphasis is on the lengthy, spacey, flowing material. Like Floyd, the lineup is guitar, keyboards, bass and drums, with the guitarist and the keyboardist contributing vocals, albeit the keyboardist is much more out front than Rick Wright ever let himself go.
Highly recommended to 1970-1973 era Pink Floyd fans!

Remastered re-release of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary British Progressive Pop/Rock band.
Sub-titled "A Symphony By The Electric Light Orchestra", ELO's fourth LP was its first to feature an actual orchestra, as opposed to just overdubbed string parts. This is the album where Jeff Lynne finally found the sound he'd wanted since co-founding Electric Light Orchestra three years earlier. Up to this point, most of the band's music had been self-contained - Lynne, Richard Tandy, et al., providing whatever was needed, vocally or instrumentally, even if it meant overdubbing their work layer upon layer. Lynne saw the limitations of this process, however, and opted for the presence of an orchestra - it was only 30 pieces, but the result was a much richer musical palette than the band had ever had to work with, and their most ambitious and successful record up to that time.
Indeed, Eldorado was strongly reminiscent in some ways of "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". Not that it could ever have the same impact or be as distinctive, but it had its feet planted in so many richly melodic and varied musical traditions, yet made it all work in a Rock context, that it did recall the Beatles classic. It was a very romantic work, especially on the opening "Eldorado Overture", which was steeped in a wistful 1920s/1930s notion of popular fantasy (embodied in movies and novels like James Hilton's "Lost Horizon" and Somerset Maugham's "The Razor's Edge") about disillusioned seekers.
This is a concept album about the lonely, romantic daydreams of a man desperate to escape the drudgery of his daily life, "Eldorado" weaves its songs into a dense, atmospheric tapestry that is essentially Pop-Prog. It boasted Lynne's best single up to that time, "Can't Get It Out of My Head," which most radio listeners could never get out of their respective heads, either. 
Called "something of a triumph" by Rolling Stone at the time, "Eldorado" was later used by experimental filmmaker Kenneth Anger as the soundtrack to the 1978 re-release of his surreal 1954 film "Inauguration of the Pleasure Dome", which certainly speaks to the album's transportive, cinematic qualities.
The integration of the orchestra would become even more thorough on future albums, but "Eldorado" was notable for mixing the band and orchestra (and a choir) in ways that did no violence to the best elements of both.
In July 2010, the album named one of Classic Rock Magazine's "50 Albums That Built Prog Rock".
On June 17, 2015, the album ranked #43 on Rolling Stone's "50 Greatest Prog Rock Albums of All Time".

Japanese release of the debut full-length album by cult Dutch Progressive Heavy/Power Metal band.
Elegy is without doubt one of Europe's finest bands mixing equal proportions of Melodic, Power, and Progressive Metal. 
"Labyrinth of Dreams" is an album packed with top-notch Progressive Metal tunes, thunderous drums and bass, breathtaking twin guitar solos. This album is chock full of crazy guitar antics, in the form of both insane solos and some nice meaty riffs. The guitars are excellent, provided by the talented Henk Laars and Arno Van Brussel. The riffs are good, fast, and the solos are great and even faster.
There are the ultra-fast speedy songs like "The Grand Change", which they further explored on their sophomore release, "Supremacy"; and "I'm No Fool", noteworthy for its use of Neoclassical guitar parts and high-pitched vocal technique. In addition, the band tried their hands at more Epic compositions on "Take My Love", mixing radio-friendly choruses with heavy-duty riffing and pounding drumming. The title track is a Power ballad building to an intense finale where dual guitars shred wildly while "Over and Out" sees the band veering yet into another musical path, this time combining the aesthetic of Melodic Metal with early Helloween-like vocals. Then, there is also the instrumental stuff, with lots of Shred-intensive guitar passages building into nice unison leads, best heard on "Mass Hysteria".
Vocalist Eduard Hovinga generally sings in a high pitch, recalling Ray Alder on his first Fates Warning album. His voice does falter in places, but he finds his true self on the following releases, particularly "Lost". His Power Metal styled singing has always reminded of the original Chroming Rose vocalist, which is a good thing.
Elegy became the great band we all came to love and respect once they managed to organize their musical ideas in a more harnessed and refined context, especially during the Ian Parry era. Though it is certainly not their best offering, it is certainly an important record in that it helped kick-start the band and opened them a solid career, setting them apart from many other acts along the way.
Overall, this is a great album that got totally overlooked (most likely thanks to being from the Netherlands). Really, these guys deserve a share of all the ridiculous amounts of success and acclaim that Dream Theater's been getting. Anyway, if you like Power/Prog Metal, and are willing to put up with some kind of sappy lyrics, you will enjoy this album! Maybe you'll take a while to get into it, but you'll love it!!!
