The debut full-length album by Russian Symphonic Black/Death Metal band.
The Russian extreme underground scene has lots of potential. It has produced many talented and great names over the years, and it's kind of unfortunate that many of them never seem to have success outside of the Russian borders due to the labels' relatively limited promotional resources. Gul Taosa, formed in 2009, is one of those many Russian acts that undoubtedly would do really well everywhere, if people could just find them.
The band plays a flawless combination of Death Metal and Symphonic Black Metal, somewhat similar to Dimmu Borgir, but with death growls and the main emphasis being on more Death Metal riffs, blast beats and stuff. It's a safe recipe that they have for their Black/Death Metal bombardment and when done well, it definitely works.
The first thing to mention about the album is a professional team-work of the musicians and precisely balanced sound of all instruments. The album is full of expectation of the approaching apocalypse, chaos and destruction. It is literally painted crimson colors of infernal evil. Tenebrous, aggressive yet graceful music of the band is a good example of how brutal material can at the same time be beautiful! The album plunges listeners into the atmosphere of horrors bred by the humankind itself that have survived to the present days. Insane surrealist world created by the band seems to resemble the paintings of Hieronymus Bosch.
Upcoming Armageddon, demonic darkness of medieval myths and different deformities of a sick human mind - these are the themes forming the basis of the lyrical content of “Агония Солнца“ (The Agony Of The Sun).
This Russian Metal patrol has managed to create a pretty dark and oppressive aura around their songs, thanks to the effective use of keyboards and overall ability to paint the horizon in all kinds of powerful shades of Black. This is meant to surround your miserable being, like it or not. On "The Agony Of The Sun", Gul Taosa sounds "big" with this pompous atmosphere, and they probably also tend to appeal to a lot of people equally both in the Black and Death Metal camps. There's nothing in their sound that would push you away from them like some vicious Ebola virus. So, give them a chance and a listen!!

The debut full-length studio album by russian Black Metal band.
"V Petle" ("In The Noose") offers four tracks rich in passages of not only Black Metal, but Folk, Post-Rock, Avant-garde and Ambient as well. Stylistically, while not presenting a total combination or fusion of the genres, the band offers a cavalcade of segments and passages that flow together intravenously. 
The mix is never overbearing with however many instruments are playing at a time, and everything sounds great. The riffing guitars range from the Post-Metal/Atmospheric sound as if they’re soaring through the heavens to the bleak tremolo riffing all to common in Black Metal. The bass is surprisingly thick and audible for Black Metal. Every instrument has the right amount of echo to it, adding even more to the Atmospheric presence it graces the listener with. 
Zatemno have delivered an exemplary debut album, rich in a variety of style and atmosphere. Even if Black Metal isn’t in your library of taste, the album is worth visiting for its sections of experimentation alone.

With only their second album, the band already shows that they have a really strong experience and capacity to play good music. Don't expect anything dark here, "The Cuckoo's Children" is just a jovial Folk Metal album which uses Russian traditional music to create addictive super positive music.
It's not so hard to describe Kalevala. Just take an accordion and the Polka influences of Finntroll add a female singer, play good festive Metal and voila! You'll really like the accordion and the positive spirit featured on each song!
"The Cuckoo's Children" is perfectly recorded and the sound is loud and powerful. The voice of Kseniya is a bit particular being a bit Pop, but it just fits perfectly to the music and add a cool atmosphere to the songs. The album is perfectly played - the band is really proffessional. And even if it's Folk Metal - you'll listen a good and heavy solo-guitar riffs, this is real Metal!
"The Cuckoo's Children" is an excellent album of catchy fun and festive Folk Metal. If you want to have a beer or let's say a good vodka with your mates, listening to perfect music to party, this album is a must! Kalevala is an excellent discovery and let's hope that they will be exported all across the world or Folk Metal fans will miss something!!

The second official re-release on vinyl of the debut full-length studio album by legendary Soviet New Wave/Post-Punk Rock band.
The album was recorded together with musicians from the Aquarium band, and released on reels in 1982. At that time, Kino consisted of only two members: Viktor Tsoi and Alexey Rybin; the musicians were not yet widely known and the opportunity to record the material accumulated over three years was obtained thanks to the assistance of Boris Grebenshchikov. The album was mixed underground - in the House of Pioneers, where Andrey Tropillo set up a semi-legal recording studio "AnTrop".
"Forty Five" was one of the first Rock albums in the Soviet Union to use a drum machine instead of a real drum-kit. In addition to acoustic, electric and bass guitars, flute, cello, and bells were actively used to create the required sound.
It's the only studio work in the band's discography in which Alexey Rybin took part, since due to ideological differences with Viktor Tsoi, he soon left Kino, and the two musicians never met again on purpose - they only crossed paths a couple of times at mixed concerts ("solyankas"), but never spoke to each other.
Unlike the other albums of the band, "Forty Five" was not released on vinyl until 2012. During the recording, a significant technical error was made, which did not allow the material to be reissued in the gramophone record format in the future, and until 1994 it existed only on the reel. In the mid-1990s, the Moroz Records produced several reissues in digital form on CD. In 2012, the album was first released on vinyl by Moroz Records, with digital remastering in a limited edition of 1,000 copies.
Many of the songs on the album gained great popularity, were included in numerous compilations, and became part of the band's concert repertoire until its breakup in 1990.
There are two fundamental differences between this release and previous versions of the album: the album is released for the first time at the correct speed (on all previous editions it was considerably overstated), and also for the first time an original collage was used for the design. You will learn about all the other nuances from the booklet, included in this release, and also in the accompanying video review.

22 years after the tragic death of Victor Tsoi, this edition is the first in a series of reissues of the band. Side A of the Single contains 2012 version of the song, with special vinyl mastering. Side B contains the original acoustic version of the song, recorded by Viktor Tsoi in 1990 and carefully restored from the original audio cassette for the first time.

Completely restored and delicately remastered re-release of the sixth full-length studio album by legendary Soviet New Wave/Post-Punk Rock band.
The best-selling album in the band's discography, originally recorded and distributed on reel-to-reel and compact cassettes in 1988, and officially released in 1989 by God Castle/Capitol Records, USA.
Recording of the album took place alongside the filming of "Assa", primarily within Georgy Guryanov's flat. Thanks to a broader range of instruments acquired via Joanna Stingray, the wife of guitarist Yuri Kasparyan, the band was able to experiment with various styles and genres, including Reggae, Funk, and Hard Rock.
The album's title song, "Gruppa krovi", is about the constant selfless struggle for what is right, as well as a kind of anti-war anthem. At the request of a U.S. fans, the song was also translated and recorded in English as "Blood Type".
The album was highly praised by critics upon release and continues to be considered a notable event in the history of music. In 1999, Nashe Radio placed the song "Blood Type" in the first place at "100 Best Songs of ruzzian Rock in the 20th Century". In 2007, the editors of the Rolling Stone Magazine included the song "Blood Type" in their list of "40 songs that changed the world".
For the first time in the past 30 years, the Original Master Tape has been used for the production of this re-release, including every second restoration of the phonogram. The original band members Yuri Kasparyan and Igor Tikhomirov, as well as Victor Tsoi's son, Alexandr, for the first time were also involved in the production and approval process.

Never released before, the full record session by legendary Soviet New Wave/Post-Punk Rock band.
34 years after its recording, the first ever edition of Kino’s recording session called “Любовь — это не штука”, that was recorded in 1986 and abandoned by the band. Full analog copy from the original master tapes published as a historical document. The original band members Yuri Kasparyan and Igor Tikhomirov, as well as Victor Tsoi’s son Alexender were involved in the production and approval process.
The cover artwork was made using the sketch by Andrey Kirsanov, a band’s good friend.

Remastered re-release of the fifth full-length studio album by legendary Soviet New Wave/Post-Punk Rock band.
The edition has been prepared with the utmost attention to detail in sound and graphics.
For the first time, the recording released with a second-by-second restoration of the sound from the original master tape. The album sources are digitization of the original master tape from Andrei Tropillo's studio, a master tape for the editorial staff of Leningrad TV music programs, digitization of the circulation original of Melodiya, and a master copy from the archive of the Harmony studio. There are small but interesting differences in these copies, which detailed in the booklet.
To recreate the original cover, for the first time the negatives of the original photographs were used, exclusively provided by the band's photographer Natasha Vasilyeva-Khull. The final version of the cover of the release differ from the known versions.
Limited Extended Edition on three CDs includes remastered version of the album on Mash Heavy Gold CD, tracks from “Red Wave: 4 Underground Bands From The USSR” (1986) and “Rockin' Soviet” (1987) Split-LPs, recording of a Kino concert performance at the III festival of the Leningrad Rock Club, as well as the archival first version of the “Night” album (1985). Edition made in the form of two separate plastic boxes, equipped with a separate 48-page booklet (with extensive liner notes and rare/unpublished photos), and packed in a hard external slipcase.
