The first re-release of the fifteenth full-length studio album by legendary Brazilian Groove/Thrash Metal band.
A concept album based on numerology, the number four and its significance as depicted on Quadrivium.
Sepultura has "enjoyed" a very spotty reputation among fans since the late 1990s, when founding vocalist Max Cavalera left and was replaced by Derrick Green. After all, their first six albums (especially the trilogy that began with "Schizophrenia" and ended with 1991's "Chaos A.D.") are universally regarded as definitive Thrash Metal offerings. Later outings were saturated in Groove Metal or so experimental listeners had a tough time hanging on. But Sepultura issued some fine records during the Green era, including "The Mediator Between Head And Hands Must Be The Heart" (2013) and "Machine Messiah" (2017), which are both fine records in their own rights.
"Quadra", like its 2017 predecessor, expresses the delineated nature of society and the power of money. The album is so titled because its 12 songs are divided into four groups of three songs each. Each grouping showcases a different aspect of the band's musical persona. Exquisitely produced by Jens Bogren, its first section offers the band at its most aggressive in a short set of Thrash Metal. The second quarter of "Quadra" hearkens back to more rhythmic, Groove-Metal-oriented albums such as 1996's "Roots". Andreas Kisser's nylon-string guitar playing introduces “Guardians of the Earth”, before a layered choir begins chanting in the backdrop as a precursor to the first verse. This is Sepultura at their most Experimental and Progressive, born out by the knotty scalar inventions on "The Pentagram" and the detuned roil and burn power riffs on "Autem". Introduced by the brief interlude of a title track, the final section pursues more melodic, less aggressive Prog Metal. It features gorgeously layered acoustic and electric guitars, ghostly female vocals, and even elements of Symphonic Metal. Choirs, synth strings, and Jazz syncopation - all these you can find here. 
"Quadra" is Sepultura's first album to actually stand on equal qualitative footing with their classic trilogy. It offers a series of tough, meaty, adventurous songs, that abundantly indulge raw power and emotion. Bogren's production and Sepultura's execution are in perfect balance. Further, Green delivers a career-defining performance here. It is the first Sepultura album in decades to measure favourably alongside the band’s classic output.
The album is the band's most successful record since 1998's "Against", charting in 17 countries and entering the top 20 in seven countries (eight, considering the UK Rock & Metal Albums Chart). It is also their most successful album in Germany and Switzerland to date, exceeding the chart positions of "Roots" (1996), with positions number five and number 13, respectively.
The website Collector's Room included "Quadra" on the top 50 Brazilian Metal albums of all time. Metal Hammer Magazine named it the 30th best Metal album of 2020. At the 2020 Metal Storm Awards, the album won a Metal Storm Award for Best Thrash Metal Album.

The sixth full-length studio album by legendary Brazilian Thrash/Groove/Nu Metal band.
Sepultura, which means “grave” in Portuguese, founded in Belo Horizonte in 1984 by brothers Max and Igor Cavalera. The band has been a major force in the Groove, Thrash and Death Metal genres during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Later in their career, their style drew on influences from Alternative Metal, World Music, Nu Metal, Hardcore Punk and Industrial Metal. Sepultura is considered in the second wave of Thrash Metal acts from the late 80s to mid-1990s along with bands like Pantera, Testament, Sacred Reich, Dark Angel, Machine Head, Death Angel, and Forbidden. The band has released 16 studio albums, with the latest being “Sepulquarta” in 2021. Their most successful records are "Beneath The Remains" (1989), "Arise" (1991), "Chaos A.D." (1993) and "Roots" (1996). They have sold over three million records in the U.S. and 20 million worldwide, gaining multiple Gold and Platinum records around the globe, including in countries such as France, Australia, Indonesia and their native Brazil.
First, "Roots" is not Thrash Metal anymore. No one is disputing this but apparently, this causes a lot of distress for Sepultura fans who only like the "real" Sepultura i.e. pre “Chaos A.D.” era. A change in direction can be the best, worst or most indifferent thing that can happen to a band. In Sepultura's case it was the best...
It is the band's last studio album to feature founding member and vocalist/rhythm guitarist Max Cavalera. Following the shift to slower tempos and Latin-tinged rhythms on the album "Chaos A.D.", "Roots" delves even further into Brazilian musical textures. Both in sound and overall aesthetic, "Roots" is also a conscious nod to Brazil's marginalized indigenous population and cultures. The song "Itsári" features a Xavante chant that re-appears on the song "Born Stubborn" and serves as a loose thematic thread for the whole album, which on the whole showcases the band's increased affinity for experimentation and collaboration. "Lookaway" features guest appearances by Korn vocalist Jonathan Davis, then-Korn drummer David Silveria, House Of Pain/Limp Bizkit turntablist DJ Lethal, and Faith No More/Mr. Bungle vocalist Mike Patton. Riff-wise, "Roots" also draws influence from the then-surging Nu Metal movement, specifically Korn (whose first two albums were also produced by "Roots" producer Ross Robinson) and Deftones. After leaving the band, Max Cavalera would continue to pursue the Nu Metal and World stylings of "Roots" with his solo project Soulfy.
While it certainly isn't the fastest or Thrashiest of Sepultura's albums, it's the most interesting, dynamic, coolest sounding and great!
Since its release, "Roots" has sold over two million copies worldwide.

The sixteenth full-length studio album by legendary Brazilian Groove/Thrash Metal band.
Serving as a halfway house between a live album and a studio recording, this album is unique in this regard due to the circumstances of its creation. 
After releasing their "Quadra" album in February 2020, Sepultura had their momentum halted by the pandemic. Refusing to stay stagnant and put the band on hold, they started a weekly livestream to engage with fans and talk to some of their closest fellow musicians. Without any intentions to do so, the "SepulQuarta" livestream event started to take form as a collection of tracks with special guests that were recorded live every Wednesday. The resulting series of collaborations across the year, all recorded from their homes, has led to a new Sepultura album of old songs. "Sepulquarta" is a compilation in which the band revisit their back catalogue and songs from "Quadra", with a little help from their friends. 
As for the tracklist itself, it’s a mix of the band’s most iconic tracks, some slightly deeper cuts and one cover. The crucial part of this album’s appeal is its collection of guests featured on every single track that joined the band throughout the course of 2020. Whilst there isn’t anything necessarily game-changing here on these re-recorded versions, the guests do provide a reason to go back and celebrate the career of Sepultura to this point, especially after the well-received release of "Quadra". Some of the biggest thrills are provided by some A-list guest guitarists and vocalists, with the likes of Devin Townsend, Scott Ian (Anthrax), Matt Heafy (Trivium), David Ellefson (ex- Megadeth), Phil Rind (Sacred Reich) and Phil Campbell (Motörhead), breathing plenty of life into their spots. What works so well about the guests that are featured is that they feel at home on the tracks whilst adding some extra personality and distinctive flavour. 
For Sepultura fans, this record should be seen as a moment of indulgence. Instead of staying quiet throughout the pandemic until they could tour their February 2020 release, they’ve come away with this snapshot of the year they’ve been through with something very positive to show for it. It is at its core a collection of songs from the band’s back catalogue that fits somewhere in between a live and studio album. On the other hand, in its own unique way, this is a record that could have only come out in the previous year. With the album’s creation being entirely unintentional, it symbolizes coming together and has joy and fun right at its core. This makes "SepulQuarta" mean more than just an assortment of re-recorded songs, even if that is literally, what it is.

The second full-length album by Italian Gothic/Doom Metal one man band.
Serenades start as a solo project, a one man band personify by Valerio Capsoni.
The debut album, "The Age Of Purity", was one of the most important Gothic/Doom albums ever produced in Italy. Album obtains a considerable success during the years in the Underground scene in Europe and in the rest of the world, especially among Anathema, My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost fans.
After three years, Valerio Capsoni carries out the second Serenades album, “Ionia”. Eight songs which constitute the evolution in a more direct form of dark feeling pulsating in Serenades music, in a cross between Katatonia and Depeche Mode. This album is very different from the debut, and sounds very cynic and depressive. An Electronical side project, Leaveinsilence, follows the exit of the album.
This album is not to be missed simply because the melancholy contained it is just amazing. There are few soulful bands and Serenades is one of them.

The first live album by American Progressive Rock/Classical singer, System Of A Down frontman, Serj Tankian.
Material for the performance is from Tankian's solo debut, "Elect The Dead", with some additional previously unreleased songs. It features the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. The performance took place on March 16, 2009 at the majestic Auckland Town Hall in the center of the country’s (New Zealand) capital.
Tankian’s epic songs and operatic vocals take on a whole new sense of grandeur when accompanied with a full 70 piece orchestra. This unique meshing of two very different worlds of music was a vision Tankian has long wanted to make a reality. 
This solo work extends similar themes with Tankian now supplying the majority of materials. Alongside him appear Armenian-American coloratura Ani Maldjian, drummers John Dolmayan (from System Of A Down) and B. Brain Mantia (Primus, Guns N' Roses), Dan Monti on guitars, and a string section featuring Antonio Pontarelli.

Re-release of the fourth full-length album by the American Heavy/Power Metal band.
"Passage To The Other Side" is really more of the same from the band's debut: anthemic Power Metal with screaming guitars, ear-splitting percussion, and robust, operatic vocals. Musically, the band’s sound is dominated by solid hooks and generally fast paced riffs that cover a lot of metal styles. “Dance with the Dead” and “The Last Horizon” have a strong Power Metal feel to them. “Mental Messiah”, “Johnny” and “Fever in the City” are practically Speed Metal. The title track is an epic ballad number. The band also puts on a solid performance throughout with guitars that are often melodic but with a strong crunch, vocals executed in shrieking Halford/Dickinson worship, and plenty of opportunities for the rhythm section to shine.
The disc will ring true for fans of Manowar and Judas Priest - in addition to the small but devoted legion of worldwide fans who reverently follow young upstarts such as Primal Fear - especially given the band's lineup (this is ex- Armored Saint, Anthrax and present Fates Warning bassist Joey Vera and Helstar vocalist James Rivera; also guitarist Jack Frost featured, ex- of Rob Rock, Belladonna, Savatage, Speeed, Metalium... etc).
All in all, it may be the best album that Seven Witches put out and would probably be a good purchase for newer fans!

The second full-length studio album by Kazakh Symphonic Black/Death Metal band.
Hailing from Kazakhstan, a country unknown for its Metal output, SevenSins, with their "Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse", bring about 50 minutes of utterly epic sonic devastation.
The band truly excel is in their use of orchestration. The symphonic elements to their music create atmosphere, but do not overpower the brutality. Taken as a whole, "Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse" is a fast, utterly savage lesson in Black Metal. The orchestration and operatic, female vocals stand as an excellent contrast to the blast beats, down-tuned riffing and venomous vocals found throughout the majority of "Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse".
If you are looking for a traditional Black Metal album that is cold, raw and has the production value of a 1920s film, then you need to give this a miss. If you are looking for a traditional Death Metal album, built on utter brutality, again, give this a miss. "Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse" is a little too Blackened to be Death Metal, and a little too full-bodied to be Black Metal. The production quality is surprisingly strong! Right across the record, the listener is treated to a sound somewhat akin to the bastard love-child of Fleshgod Apocalypse and Dimmu Borgir would sound like.
"Due Diaboli Et Apocalypse" is one of 2016’s most enjoyable and well-executed albums, heavy, gloriously melodic experience that won’t disappoint any Death or Black Metal fan and will leave you feeling like you’ve just taken an exhilarating ride through the dark and icy forests of Kazakhstan.

The sixth and the final full-length album by the German Melodic Speed/Power Metal band.
The album itself seems to be a concept album that follows a complex tale of prophecies, assassinations, corrupt clergy, and the titular life-prolonging mineral that links them all together. Described by the band as “an allegory for the life and acts of Jesus”, it’s a brave mix of fantasy, science fiction, and gritty reality, and it works; Seventh Avenue do manage to weave a really great story.
Of course, a great story is nothing without powerful music to back it up, and fortunately, Seventh Avenue have got that covered as well. The instruments and melodies are a product of the mind of vocalist/guitarist Herbie Langhans, and he does a masterful job with them; every song is absolutely nailed in terms of musical rhythm. Fast-paced Power Metal anthems dominate the album, but they never become boring due to the fantastically catchy (and quite different) choruses. Ballads come at just the right times, and are equally well done.
Obviously, such a high concept could not be carried out without hearty performances from the band members themselves, and yes, they can back up their ambition with the requisite virtuosity. Everyone comes in clear through the mix, and even though Langhans’ divine vocals are the highlight here, everyone gets their turn in the spotlight.
If you’re a fan of concept Heavy/Power Metal in the vein of Avantasia’s “The Metal Opera” or even the Genius trilogy, then you’ll absolutely love “Terium.” It’s fast, well-written, interesting and catchy as all hell. Terium will grab your balls from the very beginning and will not let them re-shape till the album's over. But for a duration of nearly 70 minutes, you'll surely have a good time! Definitely one of the best Power Metal releases of the year!!

The second studio EP by American Groove Metal/Rock band.
“Catacombs” was written in an organic creative environment, where all members of the band contributed to the creation of the songs. The song styles range from rhythmic to speedy to groovy.
This is the first EP featuring drummer Ricky Rock. There are vocal contributions from both, bassist Daryl Jones and guitarist Kevin Miller, and, of course, Rod Rawlins on lead vocals.
Extensive use of guitar effects creating a haunting atmosphere and a modern, but distinctive sound.
The EP was recorded at Alpaca Ranch Recording, Winter Park, Florida, by sound engineer Chris Short. It was mastered by Jay Stanley at JSP Productions in Orlando, Florida.

Formed in 1985, Shabby Trick from Florence released only three albums to date, with decades intervals between each (1989 - 2000 - 2010).
Originally released on vinyl and cassette in 1989, and on CD in 1990 (in Japan only), "Bad Ass" is a hidden Italian Metal gem. Fans of Mustaine’s voice will absolutely love Pieroni’s vocals. He sounds like Mustaine on all the songs. But don’t expect any Thrash Metal tricks from Shabby Trick – “Fallin’ Star” is the only song that it is remotely Thrash Metal. 
This is a good record for diehard fans of Italian Metal from the 1980s, even that the band sounds more like in American way. Those who are into American Metal from the 1980s will appreciate this record!
Remastered re-edition includes five bonus tracks.
