Brazil’s own Krisiun have been a trademark for sheer musical violence and a steady nominee for the title of the globe’s fastest Death Metal act throughout their 12 years of unmerciful existence. Reaching long player release number five, there couldn’t have been a more suitable album title than “Works Of Carnage” to describe the all-annihilating nature of these three brothers’ song-creations. Displaying the impressive tightness and songwriting wisdom only a band with enormous stage-experience (and yes, Krisiun can present an indisputably over-the-top agenda for destroying stages all over Europe, Japan, North and South America) could evoke, “Works Of Carnage” offers the listener a through and through compact masterpiece of modern high-speed brutality in flawless production and unmistakable devotion for the cause of Death Metal!
The realms of Death Metal haven’t been the same ever since Krisiun’s appearance, and this new effort serves as perfect proof to remark the band’s leading status and outstanding weight in today’s metal scene. Intimidatingly pounding and crunchy in production, “Works Of Carnage” features Krisiun at their best: savage guitar-riffs teaming up with utter blastbeat speed, groovy midpaced breakdowns, guttural growls, and an immense technical instrumental work edge which never ruins the overall catchiness of the unholy track-attacks. Having said that, Krisiun are adding a very sinister and vile spirit to their new album by incorporating several intro-like textures between the actual songs and also offer a rendition to one of their main inspirations, Venom, by covering their classic “In League With Satan”. Furthermore, cover artist Jacek Wisniewski (Vader, Marduk, Malevolent Creation, etc) has flawlessly captured the essence of Krisiun in excellent artwork which elevates “Works Of Carnage” to an absolute must-have release for every fanatic of Extremist Metal!
