With their third album Deströyer 666 continued their steep climb in the favour of fans and critics alike. The still sound pretty good. The drums are accurate, the guitars are similarly unimpressive. Each instrument is clearly audible and nothing seems to dominate, which allows the music to be heard for what it is.
The Australian warmongers were received with praise like “Hail and kill indeed” in a 9/10 review from Terrorizer UK or described like “Deströyer 666 offer the best of their Black/Thrash know-how, refined with the usual Australian vice” in Rock Hard France (8/10). With time its impact even grew as Encyclopaedia Metallum now awards this album a 100% review twice, while saying: “Cold Steel is pretty much a perfect album. It is fast, intense, and aggressive and most of all, incredibly infectious”! Now this modern classic was re-released in an irresistible package.
Deströyer 666's 2002 album gets the reissue treatment just in time for its tenth anniversary. Re-edition contains new artwork, liner notes and bonus track "The Dragon". "The Dragon" was first recorded for the album's original release, but was never included on the finished product. The song was also featured on Season of Mist's "Apocalypse: Livre 66, Chapitre Premier" compilation as an untitled track.
This is clearly a must have for all Deströyer 666 fans!!!

Battalion Deströyer 666 has had their 2000 full-length regarded as one of the Black Metal genre's best records of all time by Decibel Magazine. The album appears in Decibel's new special issue focusing on the "Top 100 Black Metal Albums Of All Time".
With the release of their second album “Phoenix Rising” Deströyer 666 reached a new dimension. Terrorizer (UK) saw the Australian warriors enter “a new phase that mixes the best of old school barbarity with quality songwriting”. Dutch magazine Aardschok chimed into this praise by giving 90/100 points with many critics following suit. Yet time proved to be the real test for “Phoenix Rising” and the album passed this challenge with flying colours as it continued to sell since its original release late 2000. Due to popular demand and persistent interest “Phoenix Rising” will now re-released in a carefully remastered edition.
The band's sophomore thunder slab, "Phoenix Rising" is f*****g stuffed with fret-burning rippers. From the massive title track and crushing battle epic "I am the Wargod" to the vicious "Lone Wolf Winter" and Amon Amarth-ish "Ride the Solar Winds" K.K.
