All-star lineup includes guitarists Tony MacAlpine, Joe Bonamassa (ex: Bloodline and Ozzy Osbourne), Steve Lukather (ex: Mike Terrana and Marty Friedman),  Steve Stevens (Billy Idol; ex: Vince Neil, Michael Jackson, Sebastian Bach, Tim Ripper Owens), and Doug Aldrich (ex: Dio, Hurricane, Lion, Whitesnake, Foreigner, Glenn Hughes, Doro, Tim Ripper Owens, W.A.S.P.), bassists Jimmy Johnson (ex: Planet X and Quiet Riot) and Tony Franklin (ex: Blue Murder, Marty Friedman, Rainmaker, Heaven & Earth, Whitesnake, Ironwill, Quiet Riot, Tim Ripper Owens, Tony MacAlpine), as well as Simon Phillipsond on drums (Michael Schenker Fest; ex: David Coverdale, Ian Gillan Band, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, M.S.G., Pete Townsend, Judas Priest, 10CC, Asia, Big Country, Gary Moore, Mick Jagger, The Who, and more). A talented lineup to be sure, and they deliver with some tremendous performances.
"Oceana" features a great collection of talent and of course a fantastic showing from Sherinian. One of the strong points of the album is the balance. Sherinian dazzles on the keys, but does not overshadow his guests. There is a seamless cohesiveness to the tracks.
With the success of Black Country Communion and a strong new solo album, Derek Sherinian continues to cement himself as one of the premiere keyboardists of his time!
