Re-release of the third full-length album by the legendary British Symphonic Gothic Black Metal band.
This is a concept album based on the legend of the Hungarian "blood countess" Elizabeth Báthory. This was the last Cradle of Filth full-length album to feature guitarist and songwriter Stuart Anstis, keyboardist Lecter and drummer Nicholas Barker. There is a guest appearance by Ingrid Pitt on the song "Bathory Aria", who starred in the 1970 film "Countess Dracula", based on E. Bathory story. “Cruelty And The Beast” has been featured in various best-of lists. The album ranked tenth in Kerrang!'s list of the top ten "essential Black Metal" albums in 2000.
Never shy of embracing the epic, Cradle Of Filth have constantly sought to push the boundaries of their art and have continually refused to bow to convention or to conform to prevalent trends and fads. Despite this uncompromising stance, the band is still the most successful British heavy metal band since Iron Maiden with legions of fans around the globe!

CRADLE OF FILTH "Damnation And A Day - From Genesis to Nemesis" /CD/
Fifth full-length album by the legendary British Symphonic Black Metal band.
It’s Cradle's only album on a major label, Sony Records, after which they transferred to Roadrunner Records. Album features the forty-piece Budapest Film Orchestra and thirty-two-piece Budapest Film Choir. The album is partly based on John Milton's epic poem “Paradise Lost”. In addition to the Miltonic arc, the album also features stand-alone tracks such as the Nile tribute "Doberman Pharaoh" and the Aleister Crowley-influenced "Babalon A.D. (So Glad for the Madness)". This is the first Cradle Of Filth’s full length album to feature only one full-time guitar player (Paul Allender), as former guitarist Gian Pyres quit the band shortly before the writing and recording process. Keyboardist Martin Powell played session guitars for the album as well as keyboards. This is also the first album to feature Dave Pybus as the bass player who played on all of Cradle's following releases up until 2012. Narration on the first track of each section is by David McEwen, who played Kemper in the 2001 horror film “Cradle of Fear” (also starring Cradle frontman Dani Filth) and appeared in the video for "Her Ghost in the Fog", miming Doug Bradley's vocals. The album's recording process was documented on Cradle's 2005 video release “Peace Through Superior Firepower”. Videos were made for ''The Promise of Fever'', "Babalon A.D. (So Glad for the Madness)" and "Mannequin". The song "Carrion" was used in the 2003 animated film “Dominator”, which featured Dani Filth as the voice of Dominator.
There aren't any flaws with the album that can be pointed out. It is simply a catchy, insane, and amazing display of Black Metal and Gothic Metal combined together to form a conceptual album revolving around small tales and songs of the dark and macabre. Cradle Of Filth fans, rejoice! For a major record label having one of the greatest metal acts of the nineties, this album is not mainstreamed and not aimed at people outside the style. This is simply a must have for anyone wishing to put the "Bitter Suites To Succubi" horror behind them!!

CRADLE OF FILTH "Darkly, Darkly Venus Aversa" /2LP/
Tenth full-length album by legendary British Symphonic Black/Extreme Gothic Metal band.
A more reviled, deified, and overtly controversial group has yet to come from the primordial ooze of Metallic devolution. Cradle of Filth return with a new foray into a female based concept album and the formula - akin to “Cruelty And The Beast”- appears to be a winner. From 1994 till 2008 Cradle of Filth changed their style with every album they released. You cannot state that their first album resemblances “Dusk And Her embrace” or even “Cruelty And The Beast”. There is no band’s album in this time span that should be labeled as a copy cat of another, as their music progressed in such a manner that the term “Black Metal” doesn’t suit them by far. This album is yet another concept album and like their previous album, “Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder”, it is another step toward the mainstream. This album uses more tremolo picking, rather than power choral structure, however, so it is a step back toward the early days of Cradle of Filth.

Ninth full-length album by the legendary British Symphonic Gothic Extreme Metal band.
One of the most infamous and notorious names in metal, Cradle Of Filth continue to shock, excite, disgust and inspire in equal measure. The grandiose atmosphere and epic songwriting of the band entwined with an interesting concept can add life (or death) to an album. This is a concept album in the same vein as its predecessor “Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder”; this time centering on the demon Lilith, the first wife of the biblical Adam (by Jewish mythology), and is a modern adaptation of the character as she emerges in modern society. Album was released on 1 November 2010 by Peaceville Records. Heavy and oppressive parts full of bombast and anger give way to lighter and mellower sections that give the listener a chance to take a breath before the weight of the darkness settles back in. There are some catchy moments on the album as well. The danger of this type of album is being melodramatic instead of dramatic or self-indulgent instead of ambitious. COF manages to avoid this pitfall, and there are actually fewer long instrumental sections and interludes than they've done in the past. The core album is the band's first to not feature any instrumental tracks. The special edition bonus track "Adest Rosa Secreta Eros", is arguably an instrumental, but features extensive narrative excerpts taken from Aleister Crowley's “The Book of the Law”. The album received mainly good reviews.
It is the band's only album to feature keyboardist Ashley Ellyllon, and is also the band's final album with Dave Pybus as their bass player. On 29 September 2010 Cradle of Filth released the first official video of the album for the track "Forgive Me Father (I Have Sinned)."
For those looking to get into the band, start with some of the other records to gain some perspective- and come back to this later. For those who already hate Cradle, this album won't do anything to change your mind. The band has a very characteristic sound which, while giving the band a definite identity, limits their appeal to those who can enjoy that sound. Dani Filth: "Without doubt the fastest and most brutal album we've created to date... A Gothic horror themed slay-ride of fervor and perversion; yet amidst the orchestral melodrama and lush, cinematic production, there sits stalwart a ravening beast of furious riffing, flesh ripping vocals and monstrous, unstoppable percussion."

CRADLE OF FILTH "Godspeed On The Devil’s Thunder - The Life And Crimes Of Gilles De Rais" /CD/
Eighth full-length album by the legendary British Symphonic Gothic Extreme Metal band.
Cradle Of Filth return in 2008 with their patented brand of Dark Gothic Melodic Black Metal. By this time you probably know if you like them or not... and if you do, this one is not to be missed! This is conceptual album, based on the well-documented, true-life fall from grace of a shadowy historical figure named Gilles de Rais , a wealthy French nobleman and one of the world’s most notorious serial killers. It is Cradle of Filth's first album as a four-piece, rather than its usual six-man staple. It is also the last album to feature backing vocalist Sarah Jezebel Deva (although she briefly returned for Midnight in the Labyrinth) and the first to feature drummer Martin Škaroupka, replacing Adrian Erlandsson. Once again, Doug Bradley provides narration for the album (as with “Midian”, “Nymphetamine” and “Thornography”). The title of the album derives from a valediction vocalist Dani Filth once used to sign a letter. The album is produced by Sabbat guitarist Andy Sneap, who previously worked with Cradle of Filth while mixing the band's 2006 album, “Thornography”. A music video for the song "Honey and Sulphur" was filmed at the Chislehurst Caves of Kent. A video for "The Death of Love" was released on 31 July 2009. Andy Sneap has mixed a new version of the song for the video.
The album peaked at number 48 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, with sales of a little over 11,000 copies.

Re-release of the first compilation album by the legendary British Symphonic Gothic Black Metal band.
This 2-CD release is the culmination of the band's 1997-2002 era. This special album features 24 classic Cradle tracks, with over 143 minutes of music, including a left-handful of exclusive special tracks and mixes. This album described in Dani Filth's sleeve notes as "a favored grimoire of tracks coupled with the rare and unreleased; rather a “mess of” than a “best of”..." It was one of two Cradle of Filth records released in 2002 (the other being “Live Bait for the Dead”) and was de-signed to round off Cradle of Filth's contract with Music for Nations before their short-lived signing to Sony Records.
Disc one ("Lovecraft") consists of album tracks from their Music For Nations back catalogue. Disc two ("Witch Hearts") consists of extra tracks culled from limited and import editions of their Music For Nations releases (e.g. the two-disc version of “Cruelty and the Beast”; however, the versions on here are slightly altered), along with some remixes and covers of Slayer, Iron Maiden, Sodom, Massacre among others!

Re-release of the fourth full-length album by the legendary British Symphonic Gothic Black Metal band.
England's most notorious Metal band has returned with Chapter V - "Midian". Album was released on Halloween, 31 October. This album greatly differs to that of other Black Metal albums. It holds some unique characteristics and brings a new concept. It does not talk about vampires, but a place where demons, fallen angels, and monsters dwell, an idea whose origins come from the Old Testament. At the time it was considered their most commercial and accessible album to date.
The album marks the return of Paul Allender to the band, as well as the introduction of Adrian Erlandsson (At The Gates, The Haunted, Paradise Lost) and Martin Powell (My Dying Bride) and a shift towards a Thrash/Death Metal guitar sound, while still retaining that totally unique Cradle Of Filth’s individuality. It’s a good display on the heaviness achieved in the record. The lead riffs and high pitched vocals are more apparent than ever, but the band seems to mold them into a heavier sound seamlessly. "Her Ghost in the Fog" spawned a music video, which received heavy rotation on MTV2 and other rock channels, and was directed by Alex Chandon (who also directed the 2001 horror film “Cradle of Fear” in which Dani Filth appeared).
The band pulled itself together after what must have been the worst time for Cradle Of Filth ever; the new line-up rocks and "Midian" is an impressive addition to the saga! Dark, heavy and aggressive album!!

The sixth full-length album by legendary British Symphonic Gothic Black Metal band
This album is just as strong, if not stronger than any of their other efforts. The production is way better here than on any previous release, thanks to Rob Cagianno (of Anthrax). The band have never sounded better. And the songs are all top-notch. Lyrically, Dani Filth has reached deep into his bag of goth/mythological prose to pen some sparkling lyrics.
Recorded with The Vulgarian Philharmonic Orchestra. Album debuted at number 89 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, selling 13,818 copies. The title track was nominated for a 2004 Grammy award in the Best Metal Performance category. A "Fix" version video of “Nymphetamine” was made. "Mother of Abominations" appeared on the soundtrack to the 2005 horror film “Alone in the Dark”. "Coffin Fodder" is mentioned in episode four of the UK comedy television series “The IT Crowd”, as track four on a gift-wrapped CD given by the goth character Richmond to a grieving widow at a funeral. Album marks the first recorded appearance of guitarist James McIlroy (as "Germs Warfare"). He would later record guitar for the band's 2010 release “Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa”. “Nymphetamine” is also the band's final album to feature keyboardist Martin Powell. The album features guest appearances by ex-Theatre of Tragedy and current Leaves' Eyes vocalist, Liv Kristine, and Doug Bradley, who starred as the cenobite Pinhead in the “Hellraiser” series and also collaborated on “Midian”.
With songs like “Coffin Fodder“, “Filthy Little Secret“ and “Gilded Cunt“ the heaviest of Cradle craving’s will be satisfied and “Medusa And Hemlock“, “Nemesis“ and “Mother Of Abominations“ are bound to become Cradle classics!

CRADLE OF FILTH "The Manticore And Other Horrors" /Slipcase CD/
Tenth full-length studio album by the legendary British Symphonic Gothic Extreme Metal band.
It was released on October 29 in Europe and on October 30 in USA in 2012. It is the band's first album as a three-man band rather than its six-man staple. "Frost On Her Pillow" was the first video to promote the album, after "For Your Vulgar Delectation" and "Manticore" were uploaded to Peaceville's Soundcloud account.
There are definitely still symphonic elements all throughout the disc, and the ending track is entirely instrumental, but it seems like the band has worked a lot of the overbearing orchestral stuff out of its system. After the heavily-orchestral “Evermore Darkly” and “Midnight in the Labyrinth” releases, Cradle of Filth has now removed the more grandiose elements of the music and produced a more focused sound. In an interesting change, that focus is tuned more towards just “Metal” this time around, instead of specifically Gothic or Black Metal, especially in the guitar riffing. It’s a good bet that any Cradle of Filth fans who liked “Darkly, Darkly, Venus Aversa” or “Godspeed On The Devil’s Thunder” will thoroughly dig the sound presented here. The less Black Metal-oriented guitar work and the removal of the overtly cheesy elements also gives the album a potentially wider appeal, but overall, this is just Cradle being Cradle, with a few of the window dressings changed.
As ever, band provided a surprisingly accessible Extreme Metal album, offering new listeners another excellent entry point into all things evil whilst at the same time retaining all of the essential elements that have brought them this far!!

"Dusk... And Her Embrace" further explored themes of vampirism and paganism in its lyrics, following on from the foundations of their earlier works. The album climaxes with a guest speech from Venom's Cronos on the final track, "Haunted Shores".
The band is still the most successful British Metal band since Iron Maiden, with legions of fans around the globe!!

The eleventh full-length studio album by the legendary British Symphonic Gothic Extreme Metal band.
Cradle Of Filth have returned to defend the throne of blood! Dark, extreme, gripping and hauntingly beautiful!!
Unquestionably one of the greatest and most influential British Metal bands of all time, Cradle Of Filth have cast a commanding and macabre shadow across the Metal scene for nearly a quarter of a century. Armed with their trademark, cross-pollinated assault that taps into myriad strands of sonic extremity and morbid opulence they have steadily conquered the entire world, unleashing a malevolent slew of classic albums along the way. Band's ethos and aesthetic has had a huge impact on the evolution of Metal, the band's insatiable appetite for performing live and frontmen Dani Filth's unerring charisma and sense of occasion ensuring that they have established a powerful and enduring connection with Hell-bound acolytes everywhere.
But despite their indubitable authority and prowess, Cradle Of Filth have never been immune to the shifting sands of time, resulting in an almost comical reputation for line-up changes that, unusually, has had the parallel effect of imbuing the band with an omnipresent air of ongoing evolution and mutation. With that in mind, the exhilarating reaffirmation of malicious values showcased on new album "Hammer Of The Witches" stands out as a clear milestone in Cradle's lengthy history, as the ferocious chemistry that has swiftly developed between these virtuoso miscreants – Dani Filth, newly recruited guitarists Richard Shaw and Ashok, bassist Daniel Firth, keyboard priestess Lindsay Schoolcraft and stalwart percussive powerhouse Martin Skaroupka - is laid bare across 56 minutes of extravagant, adventurous and thrillingly Extreme Heavy Metal! Striking a sublime balance between the classic, twin-lead grandiloquence of 90s triumphs like "Dusk And Her Embrace" and "Cruelty And The Beast" and the tougher, gnarlier textures of recent masterworks like "Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder" and "Darkly Darkly Venus Aversa", "Hammer Of The Witches" is arguably the most focused, absorbing and fearless album the band have ever produced, as fresh blood and a renewed sense of purpose collide in a shower of bloody sparks!!

The first home video by the legendary British Symphonic Gothic Black Metal band.
Originally released on VHS in 1999, and surfacing on disc in 2002, this DVD is primarily a showcase for the band's first ever promo video for the song "From the Cradle to Enslave", taken from the EP of the same name.
The video was directed by Alex Chandon, who would go on to produce further promo clips and DVD documentaries for the band, as well as the full-length feature film "Cradle Of Fear".
The DVD contains two versions of the video: uncensored with graphic nudity and gore, and a supposedly MTV-friendly "clean" version. After every track one of the band members announces the next track, actually both versions of "From the Cradle to Enslave" have the same length - the difference comes from the announcements.
Also DVD features "Making-of" documentary and a short live show, recorded at the London Astoria on 5 June 1998.
