The second full-length studio album by cult Norwegian Black Metal band.
Legendary Metal icon makes his thunderous return with the new album "Outstrider". The eponymous 2016 debut from the ex-Immortal frontman and guitarist Abbath Doom Occulta (Olve Eikemo) relied heavily on material that was originally intended to appear on his former band's next album. As Immortal-esque as that set was, it showed a willingness to infuse the frosty bleakness of Black Metal with a bit of Classic Metal pomp and circumstance, an approach that the band takes even further on the punishing and confident "Outstrider". 
Abbath recruited a new line-up, to fulfil the mission of a new album. Three years in the making, "Outstrider" proves that the infamous mastermind is one of the genre's most incisive songwriters. The album delivers a full-on aural assault from start to finish, with massive riffage and a robust pocket that are layered with vocals from one of the most identifiable voices in Black Metal.
As the furious stomp of the title track, the churn of "Harvest Pyre" and the neck-snapping "Scythewinder" prove, "Outstrider" is a must-have album and Abbath is indeed the master of the riff!
