Roadrunner Records celebrates the legacies of some of most revered artists by releasing multi-disc boxsets, each including every album the band recorded for Roadrunner. Sets, feature each album in an individual CD paper-sleeve with original artwork, housed in a clamshell box. The albums are neatly packaged together in one place, giving the listener a blistering slice of Metal history, and an in-depth look at each band's evolution.
Type O Negative's Goth Metal sound grew from Thrashy beginnings over the course of several records until the 2010 death of band founder and vocalist Pete Steele. "The Complete Roadrunner Collection 1991-2003" collects the lion's share of the band's best-loved material, beginning with its morally questionable earliest albums "Slow, Deep and Hard" and the fake live album "The Origin Of The Feces". Transitioning from thickheaded misogyny and Shock Rock Metal tactics on these albums, the set includes the more sophisticated musicianship of 1993's "Bloody Kisses" and 1996's "October Rust" as well as latter-day albums "World Coming Down" and "Life Is Killing Me".

The 30th Anniversary Edition re-release of the third full-length studio album by legendary American Gothic/Doom Metal band.
This album combines melancholy beauty, found in songs such as “Christian Woman”, common Metal brutality, found in songs such as “Too Late: Frozen”, and even Hardcore influenced craziness found in songs such as “We Hate Everyone”, which fuses 80s Hardcore/Punk with a Doom Metal midsection with the greatest of ease. Harsh Metal vocals and screams here, Peter Steele manages to galvanize the Gothic atmosphere by adding a nearly inhumane vocal sound to the mix.
This is probably their Darkest, Doomiest release. It's definitely their most Goth release, though. Peter Steele is certainly no mall Goth type person, and it's funny how he pokes fun at those types with “Black No. 1”. A fan of any form of extreme music be it Metal or Hardcore can probably find something that they like on this album since this album manages to fuse all these different types of music together and then envelop it in a Gothic atmosphere. It is certainly their darkest, most depressive release.
"Bloody Kisses" comes the first album on Roadrunner Records to ever reach Gold and Platinum status.
Strongly recommended to Doom fans, Goth fans and Metal fans in general!

20th Anniversary Edition, the first European re-release of the sixth full-length studio album by legendary American Gothic/Doom Metal band.
The band's final studio album released through Roadrunner Records.
The album's title and content refer primarily to frontman Peter Steele's dissatisfied life outlook and experiences with mental illness at the time of writing and production, with lyrics concerning relationship problems and the illness and death of his parents.
The album reached No. 39 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 27 000 copies in its first week, and received positive reviews from music critics, who noted a more melodic sound in comparison to previous records. "I Don't Wanna Be Me" was released as a promotional single, for which a music video was produced. "(We Were) Electrocute" was featured on the soundtrack to the 2003 horror film "Freddy vs. Jason".

The second re-release of the seventh and the final full-length studio album by legendary American Gothic/Doom Metal band.
Album was released before the death of frontman Peter Steele.
The band uses studio drums instead of a drum machine for the first time since their third album, "Bloody Kisses". Thus, it remains the only Type O Negative studio album with Johnny Kelly's actual playing, as he was only "credited" as the drummer on the three albums prior to "Dead Again".
Unbelievably heavy Sludge riffs are still a main ingredient, as well as singer Pete Steele's ongoing "Kill me, I'm in agony" lyrics, and vocals that sometimes sound quite Bela Lugosi-esque. The album-opening title track may very well be the most melodic song the band has ever recorded, but the Type O Negative we all know and love is lurking right around the bend, especially on such tracks as "The Profits of Doom" (the album's original working title), "She Burned Me Down," and "An Ode to Locksmiths," the latter of which contains a guitar riff so Tony Iommi-esque that it sounds straight off of "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath".
The cover photo is a portrayal of Grigori Rasputin, the Russian mystic and associate of Tsar Nicholas II. The photograph on the back was taken in 1906, showing four young women of the Tsarist family, identified left to right as Grand Duchesses Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia Nikolaevna. The lettering is in a faux-Cyrillic font.
Reception for this album was quite positive among fans and critics, and received the highest chart position for the band yet.
With "Dead Again", Type O Negative delivers another album of dark tales and even darker riffs, and will reassure morose metalheads that they can still count on Steele to spread the misery.

Re-release of the debut full-length studio album by legendary American Gothic/Thrash/Hardcore/Doom Metal band.
The album, originally titled "None More Negative" and released in 1990 under the band's former name Repulsion, launched the band's career.
"Slow, Deep And Hard" is a darkly humorous, semi-autobiographical album with tracks 1, 3, 4 and 7 based on a failed relationship of vocalist/bass guitarist Peter Steele. The album's other tracks are "Der Untermensch" (Steele's controversial critique of people, frequently immigrants, abusing the American welfare system), "Glass Walls of Limbo (Dance Mix)" (a facetiously titled Ambient Industrial soundscape) and "The Misinterpretation of Silence and its Disastrous Consequences" (a literal minute of silence).
In keeping with the band's notable humour, the album's cover artwork is a blurred image of sexual penetration.

30th Anniversary Edition, the first official re-release of the second full-length studio album by legendary American Gothic/Thrash/Hardcore/Doom Metal band.
Type O Negative has always had a strange and twisted sense of humour. But nowhere is this more obvious than on this album. They have given us some strange liner notes at times, but this album really is the go-to point if you want to tell someone how weird this band is.
The album was designed to mimic a live performance, with fake audience noise and comedic interruptions like a staged bomb threat, satirizing a previous tour controversy. The initial release featured an extreme close-up of an anus, reportedly belonging to frontman Peter Steele. Later reissues feature different cover art, such as a stylized "Dance of Death" painting.
Now, the craziest part about this album is that it is supposed to be a live album, because the band's label Roadrunner had it written in the contract that Type O Negative was to record a live album. However, the band allegedly took the money they were supposed to spend on producing the live album on cheap vodka instead. Realizing they needed to fulfil their contractual obligations, the band simply re-recorded their debut album, "Slow Deep And Hard", added a couple of songs and retitled some other songs and then added fake crowd noise… But they did not stop there. It would be too easy to simply add in crowd noise. No, Type O Negative added in chants of "You Suck!" and improvised a fight between Steele and the fans, with Steele yelling "You suck too" at one point in the album and then making fun of the crowd because he's getting paid to play, and the crowd had to pay to get in. At about the midway point, the band claimed it had to stop playing because there was a bomb threat in the concert hall. After a few seconds of silence, they began playing again…
Beyond the insanity of the fake crowd, the music is very impressive, and it does sound as if they are playing live. The first seven tracks are the fake concert, and then the band adds in a very interesting cover of the Black Sabbath classic "Paranoid" for the final track.
The musicianship is tight and is held together well despite the often changing tempos. Type O Negative will never be mistaken for an incredibly musically talented act. But that is okay, because the band plays just well enough to sound fine playing the style of music they play. They have always been able to write long, multipart epic songs and this has been their best musical quality. Here, for example, we have the fifteen-minute opener "I Know You're Fucking Someone Else", which lays the groundwork for the rest of the album. The band's style is a form of Gothic Metal, incorporating various influences such as Black Sabbath and The Beatles. They take those influences and slow them down and twist them to form a sound that is unlike any other band. The track "Hey Peter" is a rearranging of the Jimi Hendrix song "Hey Joe" about a jealous lover ready to kill his cheating girlfriend. Here, Peter Steele replaces the gun with an axe. The last track is a morosely slow adaptation of the Black Sabbath classic "Paranoid". Somehow, the band stretches it out more than twice as long as the original.
Overall, this is a very fun listen. The humour involved keeps things light and interesting, despite the very dark subject. At all, Type O Negative never did record a real live album.
Remastered re-release on a double Green/Black Marbled vinyl in gatefold cover features original censored cover art with peelable scratch n’ sniff sticker surprise. The release also includes Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" cover song as a bonus track, and an exclusive fold-out colour poster of the 1493 painting “The Dance of Death”.
