The tenth full-length studio album by cult Swedish Progressive Power/Heavy Metal band.
Tad Morose is now a full four albums into their ‘comeback’ after a ten-year break between their sixth and seventh albums, and the (mostly) stable line-up is very productive with four albums in ten years.
Albeit with a small nod to the sound of 80s and 90s without sounding less fresh and modern, the band has delivered another solid Metal album. Good solos, good vocals, good production values and enough little extras, such as the occasional acoustic guitar segment, all combine with great songs to make this stellar piece in the band’s long and impressive career.
Tad Morose has been chugging along for years now, releasing mostly solid albums – even if they never seemed to get back to the level of their trinity of albums in the late 90s and early ‘00s. This is probably the strongest of the new albums so far, mostly just coming down to the pared-down runtime. These are short songs that get to the point, and the band has written a bunch of their best tunes in years here.
They haven’t changed all that much since "Modus Vivendi" and these songs are all pretty bare bones, with a general tight, clinical riffing sense, dark, obscure atmosphere and choruses that come at you like spirits rising up from a fucking grave with a vengeance. The difference here is in the quality – while the opening title track sounds like every other song the band ever wrote, after that they do kick into a run of pretty stellar tunes. Check the nifty melodies of “Witches Dance”, the kinetic “Phantasm”, the epic “Dying” and the massive chorus of “Escape” – these are among their coolest tunes in years, and unlike the other recent albums there’s no real filler.
The band sounds as pro as you’d expect, with guitarist Christer Andersson, the lone remaining original member, just having a great feel for massive grooves and stomping riff work. It’s all just f***ing solid! If you’re a fan of Tad Morose or of no bullshit Dark Power Metal, "March Of The Obsequious" ought to be a safe bet for a buy!!

Tad Morose play a Power/Classic Heavy Metal hybrid with slight Progressive tendencies. "Undead" is their first album on the Century Media label. After a long 3-year wait, during which they had to hassle with their old label, Black Mark, they have come out with a very focused and strong album.
Tad Morose have dropped the keyboard player who performed on their past albums and have added a second guitar player, which has made their sound catchier, heavier, and faster. Almost gone is any resemblance to the music from their earlier works. This album can be defined as Power Metal, but Tad Morose is able to sound fresher and better than most bands in this overcrowded genre.
Urban Breed's singing is phenomenal. He has a great range and can do powerful, soaring vocal lines and then sing in a rougher style. His singing reminds of a combination of Zak Stevens (ex- Savatage) and Johnny Lindkvist (Nocturnal Rites). The driving guitar lines by Christer Andersson and Daniel Olsson are crunchy and melodic, and they really do an excellent job. The majority of their solos are not particularly flashy or ultra-fast. Instead, they show a lot of melody and harmony, they are to the point, and as a result, the song as a whole is the focus - not just a speedy solo. The drumming by Peter Morén is tight and powerful, and finally, Anders Modd glues the entire music together with his great bass playing.
"Undead" is a beast of mythical proportions, vicious riffs, fast solos, and an overall atmosphere of dread, doubt and pain. The music soars, the guitar work has a good amount of distortion and sounds influenced by 1980s American Metal. The singer has an exceptionally beautiful voice. It is at turns uplifting, frightening and rough.
Tad Morose has definitely set itself apart from the other Power Metal bands out there, many of which have become very boring and repetitive. This is one of those bands whose sound is very, very hard to accurately describe. They're just good, and their groovy riffs and haunting vocal melodies will keep you coming back for more. Let's hope this well-kept secret from Sweden will gather a strong fan base. After this formidable effort, they deserve it!

The debut full-length album by Russian Depressive Black Metal band.
Taiga is a two-man project from Russia.
Album starts with a decent intro, puts on the album a very strong example of what Depressive Black should be. Very intense guitar pieces that guide you through icy stories with some halts to appropriate samples or acoustics to give this melancholy. Yet more color in the usual way also reverberate persistently with the singer Nikolay.
Would this impression also refer to the place where these guys live? If it is cold and dark, this band certainly succeeded in its intent. Fans of Nyktalgia might go missing some power, but who likes icy perfection in that form, or even a Thy Light-atmosphere or can appreciate a sporadic Walknut guitar line, removing this pine forest in the house!

The fourth full-length album by Spanish Progressive Power Metal band.
Talesien is a six-piece melodic Progressive/Symphonic Metal band from Galicia, and they have written a very passionately played they fourth longplay.
Musically, band more inspired by Progressive Metal synthesizer arrangements along with the Power Metal crooning, and complex yet rhythmic guitar parts, which lead all 11 cuts here, into uncharted territory. Plenty of Fates Warning, Dream Theater, Is Pain, Iron Maiden and Helloween influences can be found here. However, this sextet has forged its own sound, straying away from the melodic styles created by the bands mentioned above.
Furthermore, their musicianship is excellent, as they’re all very cohesive together, as the songwriting flows so well, kind of sweeps you off of your feet. What makes this band unique is the fact that they sing in their native language of Spanish, which could be a deal breaker here for some listeners into Metal, especially if you do not speak nor understand Spanish. However, if you’ve an open mind, Talesien take no prisoners on this almost one hour CD, as there are plenty of sweet vocal harmonies in unison with the guitar riffs and symphonic synth passages in places. Sure, if the vocals were sung in English it would’ve been nice, but being that they’re sung in Spanish, really sets these guys apart from rest of the Melodic and Progressive Metal bands in the world!
There is something very special about this band’s music; they sound so upbeat and hopeful, and it is this spirit, which does not leave your mind, as you keep hearing their memorable melodies in your head. Check it out, as Talesien is a very interesting Metal band from the beautiful country of Espana!!

Re-release the fifty-ninth album by legendary German Ambient band.
Right before TD entered the stage during their Europe gigs in 1997, spectators could hear some mellow music overlaid by some nature, animal or environment sounds. "On public demand", as stated in the booklet, this "pre-concert ambient music" has become available on the CD "Ambient Monkeys".
Ambient it is, with 12 Tangerine Dream pieces, two of which are based on classical pieces - "Symphony In A-Minor" (J.S. Bach) and "Concerto In A-Major/Adagio" (W. A. Mozart).
And yes, there are monkeys - screeching away. But, but more than monkeys, but the sounds of the rainforest - rain of leaves, animals creeping about, birds chirping… it's a soundtrack to a documentary that hasn't been made yet (though there are plenty on the subject of rainforests, of course).
You can see this as an album to get lost in - so make sure you've got your fedora, leather jacket, and a thirst for adventure, as Tangerine Dream take you on a colorful and fascinating journey!

Looking back, drawing inspiration from the basics, passing through seven years of existence, the band walks forward.

The second re-release of the sixth full-length album by legendary German Thrash Metal band.
Tankard created a record that was really "Two-Faced". After "Stone Cold Sober" Tankard concentrated on their strengths. That meant that they had to move away a bit from the Thrash formula and focus on the other styles, which had always been a part of their sound anyway, or to put it simply. This band had to find the right balance again, and they finally did. This album includes a few of the best songs that Tankard has recorded in years! While "Two-Faced" initially seems to possess many of Tankard's trademark characteristics, it also differs from the previous releases to a small degree. Lyrics are generally more serious than before, and there is a bit more variety in tempos than you might expect from a typical Tankard album. It is still easy to recognize the sharp guitar sound almost instantly, and most tracks remain similar to the band's past works. Some lack of the usual happy spirit can make this release sound somewhat more average and not so uplifting though by no means bad. Also, while certain more varied tracks have their moments, too, this album clearly proves that constantly fast thrashers are the band's strongest area, formulaic or not. Some deviation from traditions put aside, “Two-Faced" is a fair pick for anyone who enjoys Tankard's style!

Tankard can be called one of those "late" Thrash Metal bands, since these guys joined forces in 1982, but only got to release their first album five years later.
No wonder these guys are known as "Alcoholic Thrashers" or "Beer Metallers". Most of the lyrics here are really fun. Common topics here are drinking beer, zombies, thrashing and having fun. All songs are just incredibly fast and insane.
This album is pure Thrash Metal: mixes of the great riffs, solid guitar solos and a crazy rhythm session; and the final result makes you break your neck!

The band's 20th Anniversary celebratory album, "B-Day," might be one of the greatest Birthday presents ever given to oneself, for the amount of blazing Old-school Thrash on offer here is among the finest of their career and starts off the latest chapter of the band in grand style.
In keeping with their previous effort, "Kings Of Beer", the album as a whole leans towards a more chaotic variation on their past works, which is continued on this album as well, the songs awash in spectacular and charging riffs that are far more chaotic and off-the-rails feeling than ever before, laced with more Technicality than they’ve ever displayed previously to make the riffing that much more dynamic. As nearly all the songs are pretty much full-throttle all the way through, with a few melodic interludes placed within select songs, this blending of technicality and speed makes for a rousing return to their 80s heyday and is one of the Thrashier selections the band has produced.
There’s a lot to like with this release, as the band manages to combine two distinct styles into a coherent whole by their stellar blending of chaotic riff-work with tireless Old-school Thrash Metal that is simply infectious. Markedly distinct with the first half being ripping chaos-laced Thrash with pounding rhythms and charging guitar riffs, while the second half is a bit tamer and more Thrash with chaotic riff-work, this is a seamless shift that is pulled off only through the band’s stellar writing, which not only keeps the album moving along nicely at a quick pace, but also generating a couple of all-time classic tracks to go in their catalogue, which is quite an accomplishment.
The production job on this is also flawless, which helps the material as well, given a crisp, clean mix, that allows for everything to come through forceful, intense and noticeable, and never dominates any other instrument. Despite one or two missteps here, this anniversary album from themselves might be one of the greatest presents given out and remains one of the more important records in their vast discography.
