First compilation album by Swedish Black Metal band.
From the very beginning of this album, the listener is plunged into a deep abyss of godforsaken darkness from the moment that the first track starts. The guitars are down-tuned and contribute to a general atmosphere of depression. There is a constant shift between slow guitar-riffs and much faster pieces. Vocals are nothing but genuine cries for help and also an intense mixture of hopelessness and raw pain. It is certainly not melodramatic, but rather very honest.
The album as a whole gets interrupted in the middle with a spoken piece in which the band lays out their philosophical ideology of self-destruction and suicide. This might sound like a call-for-attention to some, but once you listen to this you will realize that it is a very scary work of art drenched in a slow river of pain. What make it even scarier is the psychotic cries and the obsessive repeating of the words “do me a favor and kill yourself”. Every single part of this album is a climax, but this part is certainly the ultimate climax that might finally convince you to lose all hope.
The rest of the album is a cacophonous symphony in which various influences from Raw Black Metal, Doom Metal and Depressive Black Metal can be heard. Instead of playing shrieking guitar-solo’s that sound like the more traditional stuff, the band plays a mixture between slow guitar-solos and slow guitar-picking. This might be boring to those who wish to focus more on the technical aspects, but it actually fits in very well with the aesthetic atmosphere in which Shining cloaks their music. They have a very unique way in which they take the macabre elements of self-destruction and suicide and bastardize it with elements of beauty.
Overall, this album is a suicidal masterpiece that blows every bit of entertainment-value into pieces. In some sense, it is a challenging work of art that is very powerfully formulated!

Track 4 is a demo version of the song from "III - Angst - Självdestruktivitetens Emissarie". It's a reworking of "Halloween Main Theme" by John Carpenter.

Track 6 is previously unreleased. Another version of this track later appeared on "IV - The Eerie Cold".

The second full-length studio album by legendary Irish Alternative/Folk Pop Rock singer.
"I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" became Sinéad O'Connor's popular breakthrough on the strength of the stunning Prince cover "Nothing Compares 2 U", which topped the pop charts for a month. But even its remarkable intimacy wasn't adequate preparation for the harrowing confessionals that composed the majority of the album. Informed by her stormy relationship with drummer John Reynolds, who fathered O'Connor's first child before the couple broke up, "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" lays the singer's psyche startlingly and sometimes uncomfortably bare. The songs mostly address relationships with parents, children, and (especially) lovers, through which O'Connor weaves a stubborn refusal to be defined by anyone but herself. In fact, the album is almost too personal and cathartic to draw the listener in close, since O'Connor projects such turmoil and offers such specific detail.
The first song on the album, "Feel So Different", starts with "The Serenity Prayer" by Reinhold Niebuhr. The album also includes O'Connor's rendition of "I Am Stretched on Your Grave", an anonymous 17th century poem that was written in Irish, translated into English by Frank O'Connor, and composed by musician Philip King in 1979. O'Connor's sings her version over the oft-sampled loop of "Funky Drummer" by James Brown.
The album contains O'Connor's version of the Prince song "Nothing Compares 2 U", which was released as a Single and was one of the best-selling Singles in the world in 1990, topping the charts in many countries, including the United States, United Kingdom and Canada. This rendition of the Prince song reflected on O'Connor's mother, who had lost her life in an auto accident five years earlier. The single "Emperor's New Clothes" found moderate success, although it did top the Modern Rock Tracks chart in the US.
The album was nominated for four Grammy Awards in 1991, including "Record of the Year", "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance", and "Best Music Video, Short Form" for "Nothing Compares 2 U", winning the award for "Best Alternative Music Performance". However, O'Connor refused to accept the nominations and award.
In 2012, "I Do Not Want What I Haven't Got" was ranked number 408 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. The album was ranked number 457 on the 2020 edition of the list.

The twelfth full-length album by legendary German Heavy/Power Metal band.
Tradition in a new dimension! A new album for this cult band and a new success!! Sinner have been inspiring Melodic Rock and Metal fans alike for years. The gigantic success in the 80’s as albums like “Touch Of Sin” or “Coming Out Fighting” catapulted the band to the very top of the European Metal scene were followed by a creative pause, a solo album from mastermind Mat Sinner and then finally the bands’ comeback in 1993 with the album “Respect”. During the second half of the last decade, Sinner impressively attained the position at the top of the national Metal scene with releases like “Bottom Line” and “Judgement Day”. Their greatest commercial success to date was in 1998 as the band entered the German Top 100 LP charts (No. 63) with “The Nature Of Evil”. After that Sinner rocked 60000 fans as Special Guests on tour with Rock giants Deep Purple and clearly demonstrated their excellent live qualities. Deep Purple vocalist, Ian Gillan, personally thanked the guys after the tour and termed them "Best Special Guests of the Nineties". 
In the line with their precedent release, "The Nature Of Evil", "The End Of Sanctuary" plants the flag of German domination over this kind of music. Before recording “The End Of Sanctuary”, the band had to be reformed as guitar player Tom Naumann was forced to leave due to health problems and drummer Fritz Randow has been touring with Saxon for some time. Sinner mastered the situation with impressive ease by recruiting ex-Thunderhead guitar beast Henry Wolter and the world-class Helloween drummer Uli Kusch who are both more than mere replacements as is clearly mirrored in the new recordings. “The End Of Sanctuary”, produced by Mat Sinner in the House Of Music Studios, shines in its structural versatility and the musical performance of the individual musicians.
Mat Sinner's voice getting better and better on each new release. Guitars riffs are definitely strong point of this album and added melodic touch.
Sinner’s music might became heavier that decade, especially with the closeness to Sinner’s Primal Fear that seemed charged and on the roll, however, the Rock N’ Roll edge that served him in the 80’s remained true and adamant to the bone! These kinds of records of true dedication inspire!!

There’s no denying that Sinner have been at the top of the European Metal scene for years now. Even during the times where Grunge and Crossover were predominant on the market, Sinner released one superb album after the other and from the mid-nineties the sinners started getting really heavy. “Bottom Line”, “Judgement Day” and the masterpiece from 1998, “The Nature Of Evil”, were the the heaviest and the best releases from Mat Sinner & Co. to date. “The Nature Of Evil” entered the German Top 100 sales charts (No. 68) and became the worldwide most successful album in the bands career. These releases are the basis of the “The Second Decade”.
However, Mat Sinner & Co. didn’t just want to release a Best Of album without offering their fans something special. Therefore, fans will find, along with “The Second Decade”, “The Truth Is Out There” (with the original Sinner drummer, Bernie van der Graaf) and an acoustic version of the Sinner classic, "Respect" (recorded in Japan), three previously unreleased tracks on this album. The absolute highlight is the cover version of the Accept classic, “Balls To The Wall”, with its typical Sinner groove and previously only available on the Accept tribute album. As with Primal Fear, Tom Naumann is now no longer by Sinner and has been replaced by ex-Thunderhead guitar god, Henry Wolter, who already shows what he’s made of on “The Second Decade” where he appears as guest musician on “When Silence Falls”, “The Biggest Lie” and as joint composer of the classic “Rage Of A Hurricane”.
The title of "The Second Decade" is a little misleading: Sinner had only existed for 15 years when this was released, and the compilation covers the band's entire career, not just a decade of it.
All in all, “The Second Decade” is a superb cross section of the last years and whets the appetite for the next album. The perfect starting point for newcomers and European Power Metal obsessives!!

For the first time on vinyl, the third full-length studio album by Argentinean Power/Folk Metal band.
Officially founded in 2004 in Argentina, Skiltron is the leading Folk Metal band from South America, now based in Finland. The band have made of his sound a unique trademark, merging the power of Heavy Metal with the charm of the Celtic tunes.
"The Highland Way" will provide few surprises for an experienced listener of the band, but rather sees a smooth continuation of the red-hot form they hit with "Beheading The Liars" back in 2008. Their Scottish-themed anthems remain vibrant and recognizable among much competition in the current arena, and stand out from the bustling crowd with deceptive ease due to their less conventional melding of Folk music with galloping Speed/Power metal. Superficially it may appear to make little differences, but fans of the first two albums will notice the subtle differences and the continuation of the band’s gradual march towards finally locking their Folk and Metal sounds together seamlessly.
Diego Valdez has really settled into his role as vocalist on his second outing with the band - his powerful voice the battle cry that leads the rest of his teammates forward, and the soaring choruses are often the thing that kicks the songs up a notch from good to great.
Always the most prominent aspect of the Skiltron sound, the pipes, nevertheless enjoy an even more significant role in the songs, while still managing to avoid the curse of completely swamping them, something too many modern Folk Metal bands seem unable to avoid when it comes to making use of non-Metal instruments.
Switching up between crushing Speed Metal attacks and more expansive epics where acoustic guitars and mandolins add extra flavour, "The Highland Way" is an album that is expertly paced with a natural ebb and flow to the songs, shifting up and down the gears at all the right moments to ensure a cohesive listen. And it's highly recommended to all fans of Power and especially Folk Metal!

Formed in 1990 by Martin Walkyer (Sabbat) and Steve Ramsey (Satan/Pariah), the band gained extraordinary attention from both, the press and the public, with the now legendary debut album "The Wayward Sons Of Mother Earth" (1991) and, since then, has built up a solid reputation which led them to take part in some of the most important international Metal events (such as the renowned Dynamo, Wacken, Gods of Metal and Tuska Festivals) and share the stage with some of the most respected artists of their time.
"In The… All Together" mixes the usual Thrash/Speed Metal influences with the extraordinary Folk melodies that made the band famous all around the world, maintaining a fresh and dynamic approach which gives a strong live dimension to the new songs. This album was recorded completely by the band members. There are no 'guests' or orchestras etc. This was a deliberate move to try to keep the recordings as 'live and fresh' as possible, and one aimed at taking the band into the studio 'all together'. This wasn’t exactly a 'back to basics' strategy, as the songs on the new album are far from basic, as the band continues to experiment with odd timings and tunings. Another benefit of this approach is that Skyclad will be able to play more of the album songs live.
Another Skyclad album, which is reasonably filler-less, because even the 'iffy' songs are somewhat interesting, and they definitely can't be accused of being boring or forced, and after the last notes of "In The... All Together!" you're left with a hunger for more and keep repeating this CD's highlights!

Re-release of the second full-length studio album by legendary American Thrash Metal band.
The band's previous release, debut album “Show No Mercy”, became Metal Blade Records' highest selling release. As a result, producer Brian Slagel desired to release a second Slayer album. To that end, Slagel financed a recording budget (“Show No Mercy” was paid for by band members) and recruited several experienced producers to help in the studio.
Lyrical themes on “Hell Awaits” are darker than on “Show No Mercy”. The intro of the first track "Hell Awaits" played backwards reveals the repeated phrase "join us".
Musically, the album features the band's most progressive and diverse work compared to their previous releases. Defined as “influential to future Extreme Metal acts”, the most popular songs from “Hell Awaits” were re-recorded by various underground Metal bands and have appeared on several tribute albums.

Second European remastered re-release of the fifth full-length studio album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
It was the first album of Slayer released on the new Rick Rubin's label Def American (because of disagreements with the producer of Def Jam owner Russell Symons). "Seasons In The Abyss" is the last Slayer’ album with Dave Lombardo before his return in 2002. 
After staking out new territory with the underrated "South Of Heaven", Slayer brought back some of the pounding speed of "Reign In Blood" for their third major-label album, "Seasons In The Abyss". Essentially, "Seasons" fuses its two predecessors, periodically kicking up the mid-tempo grooves of "South Of Heaven" with manic bursts of aggression. "War Ensemble" and the title track each represented opposite sides of the coin, and they both earned Slayer their heaviest MTV airplay to date.
In fact, "Seasons In The Abyss" is probably their most accessible album, displaying the full range of their abilities all in one place, with sharp, clean production. Since the band is refining rather than progressing or experimenting, "Seasons" doesn't have quite the freshness of its predecessors, but aside from that drawback, it's strong almost all the way from top to bottom (with perhaps one or two exceptions).
Lyrically, the band rarely turns to demonic visions of the afterlife anymore, preferring instead to find tangible horror in real life - war, murder, human weakness. There's even full-fledged social criticism, which should convince any doubters that Slayer aren't trying to promote the subjects they sing about. Like Metallica's "Master Of Puppets" or Megadeth's "Peace Sells... But Who's Buying!", "Seasons In The Abyss" paints Reagan-era America as a cesspool of corruption and cruelty, and the music is as devilishly effective as ever.
CD debuted at the 44th position on the Billboard 200 and number 18 on the UK Albums Chart. In 1992 was certified a Gold in both the United States and Canada. The title track and "War Ensemble" earned Slayer its heaviest airplay on MTV to date. "Seasons In The Abyss" certainly among the top of three albums of the band!

Fourth European re-release of the third full-length studio album by the legendary American Thrash Metal band.
Released on October 7, 1986, this album is the debut of the band on major label Def Jam Recordings.
Despite the fact that the album practically did not receive radio broadcasts, it became the first Slayer’s release which got 94th position on Billboard 200 Chart. The album was very well received by critics and fans.
After releasing the album Slayer led musical movement of the American Thrash Metal. Slayer's place in music history is secure as one of The Big Four (alongside Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax): they helped define the Thrash Metal genre. With "Repentless", Kerry, Tom, Paul and Gary affirm that Slayer is unstoppable.
Produced by Terry Date (Pantera, Slipknot, Soundgarden), "Repentless" was written and recorded by guitarist Kerry King and singer/bassist Tom Araya at Henson Studios in Los Angeles, along with returning drummer Paul Bostaph (Hail!; ex- Testament) and guitarist Gary Holt (Exodus). Album includes "Piano Wire", an unfinished song from the "World Painted Blood" sessions written by Jeff Hanneman.
In 2013 the world mourned the loss of guitarist Jeff Hanneman who died from complications following a two-year illness. A co-founder of Slayer, losing Jeff was very difficult for the band. During Jeff’s illness, friend of the band, guitarist Holt stepped in to help out on tour with Jeff’s blessing and stayed on. Around that time, drummer Dave Lombardo exited the band for the third time and Paul Bostaph, (who played with the band from 1992-2001), returned to take over the throne. Slayer never skipped a beat and since Holt and Bostaph both played in Exodus, it was all-in-the-Thrash-family. 
"Repentless" is the band’s first new album in six years, continues the Slaytanic offensive with a twelve-song, blood-shaking sonic attack. It's dark, fast, aggressive and without mercy. It was also the most challenging record Slayer has ever had to make.
"Repentless" is loaded with sensational songs - from the hyper-aggressive Metallic blasts of the title track, "Take Control", "Implode" and "Atrocity Vendor" to the ferocious Thrash pounding of "Vices", "When The Stillness Comes" and "Pride In Prejudice" - the album is Slayer through and through.

The fourteenth full-length album by legendary German Thrash Metal band.
On their fourteenth platter, Sodom continue to deliver their battle-tested (and themed) Thrash lunacy. A good description of Sodom’s sound would be the clean sound of Ride The Lightning-era Metallica with the angriness of pre-1991 Megadeth. That’s simply a recipe for greatness. So, with "Epitome Of Torture", one can clearly say that this is Sodom in their most destructive, meanest, fastest and furious forms to date. 
Kicking off with a grand Thrash number, "My Final Bullet", the album gets a perfect start with a dulcet clean melody, which turns, into the main riff that a Thrash Metal fan will simply adore. The song is loaded with guitar harmonies and melodic sections, and at the same time delivers total no nonsense Thrash Metal with its cult up-tempo verse riff. The album enters into its mosh-prone zone with the tracks "S.O.D.O.M", "Epitome of Torture" and "Stigmatized". These songs are no doubt among the best works of Sodom. 
The album takes a very peculiar bounce with the track "Cannibal". It has a sort of melodic and groovy touch to it and the riffs are very progressive in nature. It’s a very different approach taken by Sodom, and certainly not a bad one. "Shoot Today Kill Tomorrow" and "Katjuschka" bring us back to pure Teutonic Thrash mode with the aggression-laden progressions that they offer throughout, whereas "Into The Skies Of War" gives us the 80’s Hard Rock sound with the brilliant guitar riffs that it offers. "Into The Skies Of War", being a radio-friendly track, offers us kickass main riff and a pretty catchy chorus. Tom seems to be at his best with simply awesome vocal delivery. From laying the words on the music to a tremendous voice texture to covering a good range, his performance has been ace. 
"Invokating The Demons" is a melodic track which carries a Heavy/Power Metal-ish essense and "Tracing The Victim" consists of low-tempo paced progressions which possess strong modern sounding melodic punches. 
The album has many dimensions; most of the tracks stick to the trademark Sodom sound, ending up being a treat for the fans while many tracks have something very new to offer. The highlight of this album is clearly the maniacal guitar work along with Thrash-style vocals that fit the music perfectly. This is an extremely guitar-oriented album, if there ever was one. Sodom is a band that have never been too proud or overconfident. They have always followed a pragmatic approach, and that is what makes them good! This is yet another slab of righteous, riotous Thrash Metal with tons of hooks, and it demands the horns be raised high in homage. And yes, those Germans are still around and are still releasing devastating stuff!!

Max Molodtsov (from Edenian) demonstrates the rapid artistic development on this release of his solo-project. Each composition has its own unique sound and mood enhanced by appearance of guest vocalists, such as Kaivan Saraei (A Dream Of Poe), Daniel Neagoe (Clouds, Eye Of Solitude, Shape Of Despair), Evander Sinque (Who Dies In Siberian Slush, Decay Of Reality, Forbidden Shape), Vladislav Shahin (Mournful Gust, Autumnia), Daniel Arvidsson (Draconian, Mammoth Storm). A guest guitar solo in one of the tracks is performed by Vito Marchese (Novembers Doom, The Kahless Clone).
This is a delightfully depressing affair. Cold winds blow on a frozen landscape of grey as far as the eye can see. What stands out on the album is the varied vocal technique. Most bring a level of pain and anguish that haven’t been felt before, and are the perfect accompaniment to the music. This album will become a great gift for all Doom/Death Metal fans!
