The fifth full-length studio album by cult British Heavy Metal band.
After a twenty-nine year hiatus, Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper is back with release! Known as Grim Reaper at their first decade (1979 - 1989), band split up in 1989. Vocalist Steve Grimmett resurrected the name in 2006, as Steve Grimmett's Grim Reaper, with the members of his solo band, Steve Grimmett.
Containing twelve songs, "Walking In The Shadows" has a familiar, yet creative, catchy riffage with the semi typical sounding lyrics and vocals of a style that influenced others to come after Grim Reaper. This in mind, there is definitely a ’80s vibe to the music, even though it is 2016, and this does not prove to be a negative trait. Furthermore, for a band with such a dark name, the music does not quite reflect that as much as the lyrics do, but that is all part of the fun.
Fans of Steve Grimmett’s Grim Reaper and followers of the New Wave Of British Heavy Metal scene are sure to take away a nostalgic and joyous feeling after subjecting themselves to the highs and lows on "Walking In The Shadows". It is an album full of that classic and slightly Power Metal riff-heavy sound that is an integral part of the making of New Wave of British Heavy Metal

The fifth full-length studio album by American Nu Metal band.
The album is a notable departure from their signature Deathcore musical style, pursuing a more 1990s influenced Nu-Metal sound, reminiscent of bands such as Korn, Deftones and Coal Chamber. Lead single "Doris" resulted in an extreme amount of fan outrage over the band’s change in sound. Countless memes spawned trashing the new sound and some people even began a petition to stop the album from being released. This album that people had not heard was going to be so bad that people felt it should never exist. This kind of idiotic behaviour makes it very hard to not root for Suicide Silence to prove everyone wrong with this album. So is the album so bad that it shouldn’t be released? Certainly not!
From being one of the biggest names in Deathcore, this self titled album does see Suicide Silence take a significant step away from the genre. Eddie Hermida definitely attempts to channel some Chine Moreno with his clean vocals on "Doris". Whilst "Silence" has the sort of eerie sound that was so common on the first Korn album. However it’s not like this is something totally new for the band. These influences could also be found on 2011’s "The Black Crown" which does make it slightly surprising that fans were so shocked by them being present this time. So the change in sound certainly isn’t the problem with this album as it is something that has been a part of Suicide Silence in the past.
The fact the album was produced by Ross Robinson will certainly have lead to some of these Nu Metal elements being pushed hard. It’s very clear that this album was designed to challenge the listener and many will argue that all good art should do this. 
The fact that Suicide Silence really wanted to try something different is admirable. They’ve shown a level of ambition that is rarely found in the Deathcore scene. It’s certainly not a terrible album. "Suicide Silence" is a mess of an album, but it is certainly a fascinating one!!

The eighth full-length studio album by the cult Austrian Atmospheric Black Metal band.
Summoning are back after five years with another solid effort although they don't reach the heights of their last work. Despite of band claim to come with Doom, it's still Synthy Atmospheric Black Metal, not Doom Metal. While that would be an interesting turn of events, you cannot blame Summoning for sticking to the formula. You could, however, blame them for the godawful production on this album.
This is the worst sounding Summoning album, except maybe their debut, but at least that has the excuse of being released in 1995 and being much more cult. This has nothing to do with how the songs are written or performed, but even though Summoning have had worse recording, they didn't have such awful mixing and mastering. That is "With Doom We Come"'s major crime. Also some of the transitions from track to track are pretty off-putting. But take the production away and you have a pretty decent album.
When the production issues aren't as prominent, Summoning deliver some interesting sounds, like the spoken word on "Tar-Calion" or the outro of "Mirklands", or even the entirety of "Silvertine". Sometimes you may get lost in the trance and almost feel like striding along an army on scorched earth, just almost.
The songs inspired by the literature of J. R. R. Tolkien. The cover art is based on Georg Janny's (1864-1935) painting, “The Dragon's cave” (1917). The art in the booklet was done by Clarkson Stanfield (1793-1867), Alexandre Calame (1810-1864), and Edward Theodore Compton (1849-1921).
Summoning are pioneers in the field of Ambient, Atmospheric Black Metal, and "With Doom We Come" is a rich, symphonic piece of work. It’s got all the raspy goblin-scream vocals and decaying guitars that you expect from Black Metal. The songs are well written, the vocals are great, and the mastering isn't always off-putting. Summoning earned all their glory and have nothing left to prove, but given their old material and new material from their clones, it really could be much better.
Anyway, “With Doom We Come” shows Summoning returning as strong as ever. Their core sound has not changed from the plodding, oneiric soundscapes we’ve come to know and love, but they offer up a few surprises here and there in a vibrantly atmospheric album. It might not necessarily be the first Summoning album to someone who’s never heard them before, but “With Doom We Come” holds its own and will carry you to the distant lands of enchanted forests and battle-worn fortresses that have adorned so many of their album covers!!

Second full-length album by the Salvadorean Power/Thrash Metal band.
Symbolic from El Salvador launching "Portraits of Chaos" are a fine example of what is real gems of Underground.
The last full-length work by these Salvadorans up until today is clear, precise, modern and unconventional in an area in which nobody happens to come up with anything that’s strictly not within the so called Extreme genres, and of course according to most fuckos playing around here, when it comes to Extreme music, the more badass, the better. But the fuct that this release makes it rather refreshing.
These guys play in two teams at the same time: first, the main themes and riffs in almost all songs are based on rapidly picked rhythmic figures inherent in easy to listen Thrash Metal. On the other hand and at the same time, melodies resembling 90s Heavy and Power Metal guitar melodies are also integrated. Take “Shout of Freedom” for instance; it takes off with a furious guitar picking, only to slowly derive into hyper melodic and almost sweet chorus. Make no mistake, everything is well brought together. The guitar solo in this song is a full surrender to melodic metal and it displays a few virtuosity flashes. As it’s almost mandatory for number 2 tracks, the aforementioned song conveys clearly and elegantly the whole concept behind this record.
"Portraits Of Chaos" justifies itself, you don’t need to have a huge name supporting a release for it to have some value. The music is well composed and performed. The final product has been flawlessly made and it sounds great. El Salvador has now an export band in all sense, and for those who can appreciate Melodic Metal as an expression having much to offer, it’s time to restart building up your personal collection as this beast is loudly claiming its place in it!!

The debut and only full-length album by Finnish Power Metal superband.
Timo Tolkki, a name is written in golden pages in the history of Metal. He was the guitarist, main composer for Stratovarius and also sung on their first three albums. Released two personal albums, one Rock Opera named “Saana - Warrior Of Light” and three more with the band Revolution Renaissance not to mention that he is a killer producer capable of creating killer sound. His name is connected with the dawn and rise of Power Metal in the mid to early 90's. Tolkki tried to start from scratch with Revolution Renaissance recruiting musicians that weren't very well known but after three albums this band too came to an abrupt end.
So this time Tolkki decided to recruit some powerful names for his next band (project?). Andre Matos (ex-Angra, Shaman, Viper), the legendary Brazilian singer that sung in monumental albums like “Theater of Fate”, “Angels Cry” and “Holy Land”. The awesome drummer Uli Kusch, who has played and recorded with bands like Mekong Delta, Helloween, Gamma Ray, Masterplan, Holy Moses, etc. Keyboardist Mikko Härkin (ex- Sonata Arctica, Kenziner, etc.). And bass-guitarist Jari Kainulainen, former Tolkki's partner in Stratovarius, and also Masterplan, Devil's Train, Shadowquest, ex- Evergrey, Kotipelto etc. As you can imagine, this is a Power Metal super-group we have before us with names that carry a very successful past yet this also can become a burden when it comes releasing new music.
The album was written by vocalist Andre Matos and guitarist Timo Tolkki (ex-Stratovarius), with the former focusing on lyrics and the latter focusing on the music, and both having some input on each other's parts. The drums were recorded in two days in a separate studio, with the guitars, bass and keyboards being recorded in Helsinki. Work on vocals started on the first day of 2011 in a cabin on top of a mountain where Matos and Tolkki kept isolated with no internet or telephone.
Regarding the music of the album, Matos said: "Symfonia is not supposed to be a band or a project that was meant to reinvent the style. What we wanted was to get all those famous musicians together who somehow had their highlights in this specific musical field and see what comes out of it. See when those people are together, and if they deliver their best, what kind of Power Metal comes out of it.' So this was the proposal of the album, and we never denied it. So if someone came with some criticism like, "But it's more of the same, and it brings nothing new. It just sounds like Stratovarius and Angra". Well, that's exactly what we wanted"...
...And this is the main problem with Symfonia's debut, the band sticks to the same formula that worked wonders for Stratovarius in the past, it gives the impression that the songs sound that way because this is what people would expect from a guy like Timo Tolkki. The songs vary from mid to fast tempo and while there are plenty of anthemic and sing along choruses good leads and fast double base there is absolutely nothing that a fan of Tolkki's work hasn't heard before. In fact, one could characterize the music as Stratovarius with Aangra vocals, but this would be unfair since this album packs a couple of surprises. Songs like “Rhapsody in Black” sounds like an Avantasia composition especially in the chorus. But the real gem i a “In Paradisum” that manages to sound powerful, sad, depressive and at the same time mesmerizing. Andre really shines on this one hitting his famous insane high notes yet at the same time sounds expressive and haunting, bringing to mind his chilling performances from Viper and Angra days. Clearly, a song worthy of these Power Metal pioneers legacies.
Musicianship is up to the high standards one would expect from a band like this, Tolkki's guitar work sounds impressive as ever (just check “In Paradisum” solo) and Uli Kusch gives another powerful performance behind the kit.
The same thing can be said about the production - crystal clear sound crisp and powerful, exactly what one would expected from an experienced producer like Timo Tolkki.
This album isn't a return to the golden days nor it will spark another Power Metal fire like these guys did with their own bands many years ago. It sounds close to their roots but at the same time has a more of the same feel and falls short in inspiration, especially if one would bring the masterpieces of the past to mind. But it's a good album if you're unaware of the previous albums that Tolkki, Matos and Kusch have created, if you're just getting into Metal and will definitely ignite a spark to search for these guys earlier works!

"Historiocriticism" is a conceptual album. It shows the covered up archeologial finds, ancient draws and the contexts, references between them, and shows why the backpower adulterate the history and why is important to keep this unconscious condition up.

The second live album by legendary Finnish Operatic/Symphonic Rock/Metal singer and she’s band.
As we all know, Nightwish and Tarja decided to break up. The Finish singer with the enormous voice decided to continue releasing solo albums - four up till now. Next to those longplayers she also had two live releases for now.
Knowing that her husband Marcelo Cabuli is from Argentina it isn't a too big step to understand that this country became almost a second home for Tarja. And what is more obvious than also recording a show in Buenos Aires. The concert from this live release took place in 2011. It was March 27 when Tarja perfomed a show in the Luna Park in Buenos Aires
"Luna Park Ride" is a documentation of Tarja's live skills and is definitely a collector's piece. Tarja performs her songs sovereignly live on stage. Whether they are solo songs like the powerful "I Walk Alone" and "I Feel Immortal" or even some Nightwish songs like "Stargazers" or "Wishmaster" - she always gets the crowd going with her flesh-crawling voice and this record might be also of interest for old Nightwish fans who still mourn her leaving of the popular Finnish Symphonic Metal band as she remained in a similar field musically, being more Rock and less Epic than the band that made her famous, though. 
If you've ever been to a Tarha live show and loved it, this is a great way to keep the memories alive. "Luna Park Ride" consists of two CDs, featuring a recording of her live show in Buenos Aires' Luna Park and recordings of various festivals she performed at in Europe. It was mixed by Tim Palmer, who has found the perfect balance between keeping the recordings organic and polished.
This two CD's makes something special and exciting for fans of Tarja and female fronted bombastic Metal!
