The twelfth full-length studio album by legendary Greek Extreme Metal band.
"Rituals" is an album that has obviously been written by veterans. The Greek legends inject a 27-year career, 12 albums, and more than 1200 shows into their songwriting. With confidence and skills derived from experience, each song represents its own sonic universe.
Guitarist/vocalist Sakis Tolis and brother Themis on drums achieve a perfect balance of amalgamating their classic and unique style of riffing and rhythm with exciting new elements sprinkled in to keep their material exciting and fresh.
Carefully chosen guests are being added for better effect, not name-dropping such as the spoken words of Nick Holmes (Paradise Lost) on "A Voice Like Thunder" or Samael's Vorph mesmerizingly quoting from Charles Baudelaire's "Les Fleurs Du Mal" throughout the song "Les Litanies De Satan". Goosebumps moments such as these are liberally sprinkled throughout the record, which manages the feat to sound rock solid and made out of one heavy piece as well as diverse and far ranging at the same time.
The experienced is enhanced by Jens Bogren's equally clear and transparent yet also massive as well as sombre mix and mastering at his widely renowned Fascination Street Studios (Amorphis, Borknagar, Moonspell, Devin Townsend, and many more).
We could say that "Rituals" is what its name means: a collection of transcendental and esoteric hymns of obscure and forgotten rituals. "Rituals" is a perfect album in musical sense, is another masterpiece, but it demands patience, because one single listening isn't enough to understand it fully.
The album debuted at number 14 on the Billboard heatseekers album chart and at number 10 on Ifpi Greek charts.

Ninth full-length album by the cult Greek Extreme/Black Metal band.
For a band whose name alone should have spelled a short and furtive career, Rotting Christ have certainly defied the odds, and their ninth studio album actually finds Greece's esteemed Metal institution approaching the conclusion of their second full decade of existence. What's more, all around bandleader, vocalist, and guitarist Sakis Tolis has continually uncovered new means to express his ever-evolving creativity over the years, while somehow managing to hang on to Rotting Christ's savage Black/Death Metal roots. Having said that, "Theogonia" gets underway in much the same fashion as its immediate predecessors: with a pair of explosive, blastbeat-driven Black Metal assaults called "The Sign of Prime Creation" and "Keravnos Kivernitos"; but except for the equally speedy tandem of "Rege Diabolicus" and "Helios Hyperion," a little later on, such breakneck behavior is neither the band's preference, nor their strongest suit. Rather, Rotting Christ have become the (virtually) undisputed masters of midtempo Extreme Metal marches, which Sakis effortlessly augments with untold layers of sublime guitar harmonies and atmospheric synthesizers. On "Theogonia", this winning template produces some of his finest creations since 1996's watershed "Triarchy Of The Lost Lovers", including the stunning "Phobos' Synagogue", "Gaia Tellus" and "He, the Aethyr." The band is clearly also bent on exploring their Hellenic heritage like never before, with many subjects and lyrics sung in their native tongue, not to mention evident appropriations of Greek Folk music scales for the likes of "Nemecic" and stupendous closer "Threnody." Along the way, Rotting Christ also find some time to visit ancient Sumer with "Enuma Elish," which, uniquely for this album, flirts with a rigid, quasi-Industrial aesthetic before unleashing one of the album's most musical and emotionally cathartic highlights. 
"Theogonia" (in Greek "Birth of the gods") is their first release through Season of Mist, and the first to feature guitarist Giorgos Bokos (Nightfall) in the line-up.
In 2007, Theogonia obtained the Metal Storm award for the Best Black Metal Album of the Year. "Theogonia" is pretty much all killer, no filler, and secures its position alongside Rotting Christ's, and indeed Extreme Metal's best albums!!

Re-release of the debut full-length album by the cult Greek Melodic Black Metal band.
After recording a handful of demos and releasing 1991's "Passage To Arcturo" EP in their native Greece, Rotting Christ launched their international career with a promising first long-player "Thy Mighty Contract".
The album's production may have been somewhat subpar, and its songs slightly over-reliant on furious blastbeats, but none of this mattered a lick to hardcore Extreme Metal fans, which happily gorged on such tasty Black Metal entrails as "The Sign of Evil Existence" and "The Coronation of the Serpent". After all, even at the start of their storied career, Rotting Christ already showed a budding flair for melody on odes of sublime terror like "Transform All Suffering into Plagues", "Exiled Archangels" and "The Fourth Knight of Revelation". All told, these songs made a lasting first impression for Rotting Christ on the world stage, and the band would waste no time taking their dark, gloriously deviant art to dizzying new heights with their very next efforts.
While not being too brutal, it's still their fastest and most furious album to date. This album captures the energy of early Rotting Christ, while still showcasing enough melody and atmosphere to make it stand out as an excellent album. Each song is an enjoyment in itself, and the album as a whole is a wonderful experience! It certainly is a real gem!!

The eleventh full-length studio album by legendary Greek Extreme Metal band.
With this album, Rotting Christ climb another step on their steep career ladder. The legendary Greek band created a stunning sequel to the highly acclaimed "Theogonia" (2007) and "Aealo" (2010) albums.
Rotting Christ frontman, Sakis Tolis, considered the album "a journey into the knowledge of ancient civilizations and into the occultism that is rising from the dark side of each one of them".
The Greek phrase "Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού" may be translated in several ways, including as "do what thou wilt", a quote associated with Aleister Crowley and Thelema. Sakis Tolis contended that this was the label's translation of the Greek phrase, and a more accurate translation is "true to your own spirit", which better fits the subject matter of the album.
The album incorporates diverse instrumentation, including bagpipes and horns, and delves into Incan, Persian, Babylonian, Mayan, Romanian, Slavic, and Greek mythology. The band clearly confirm their very own sound, which they skillfully vary with female vocals, piano, bagpipes, horns and by other means. Their confident songwriting displays a maturity and perfection born out of long years of composing. By delving deep into ancient poetry, tales of spirits and beliefs, Rotting Christ evoke a fascinating mystical atmosphere.

(1988), as well as the non-album single "It Must Have Been Love" (from the soundtrack to "Pretty Woman", 1990), sees like most of the songs sound like they were designed to be Hit Singles, not just fillers between two or three good cuts.
The beauty of Roxette is that the duo of Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson can do practically anything in terms of Top 40 music. From the quiet desperation of "Spending My Time" to the chanting carnival of "Joyride" to the Folky "Church of Your Heart", they bring a worldliness to their lyrics and melodies that most Pop A-listers don't even have the imagination to dream of. 
The album was recorded over an 11-month period in Sweden. The duo experienced considerable pressure from their record label, EMI, to deliver a successful follow-up album, and resisted pressure to relocate to Los Angeles and work with experienced American producers.
"Joyride" was an immediate commercial success, selling over 2.2 million copies worldwide within a month of release. The band toured extensively to support the record, performing to over 1.7 million people across four continents during the Join the Joyride! Tour.
“Joyride” topped the charts in seven European countries, and was certified multi-Platinum in several territories. In their home country, it spent seven weeks at number one on the Swedish Albums Chart, where it has been certified 3× Platinum for shipments in excess of 300 000 units. It also spent nine non-consecutive weeks atop the Norwegian Albums Chart, along with a further eight weeks at number two.
The album remains one of the best-selling albums of all time in Argentina, Austria, and Germany. "Joyride" was a massive commercial success in Germany, debuting at number six, before rising to the top spot the following week. In total, it spent thirteen consecutive weeks at number one on the German Albums Chart, and a further five weeks at number two. It was certified 7× Gold by the BVMI, indicating shipments of over 1.75 million units, and remains one of the best-selling albums of all time in the country. "Joyride" spent eleven weeks at number one on the Austrian Albums Chart, and is one of the highest-selling albums of all time there, where it was certified triple Platinum by the IFPI for sales in excess of 150 000 copies. The record also spent sixteen weeks at number one in Switzerland, and was certified quadruple Platinum there for sales in excess of 200 000 copies.
On the UK Albums Chart, "Joyride" debuted at number two, kept off the top spot by Eurythmics' "Greatest Hits". It spent 49 weeks on the chart, and was certified double Platinum by the BPI for shipments in excess of 600 000 copies. Similarly, the album spent two weeks at number two on the Australian Albums Chart, behind the Eurythmics compilation, and was certified triple Platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association. It debuted at number forty-one on the Billboard 200, on the chart dated 20 April 1991. The album would spend over a year on the chart, peaking at number twelve. It was certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in July 1991, and had sold over 1.3 million copies in the US as of 2005. In Canada, it peaked at number three, and was certified quintuple Platinum for shipments in excess of 500 000 units. It was also certified sextuple Platinum in Argentina for sales of almost half a million copies. As of 2001, "Joyride" had sold over 11 million copies worldwide. An expanded 30th-anniversary edition of the album was released on 26 November 2021.

Debut full-length album by Italian Progressive Heavy/Power Metal band.
The Italians play pure Heavy/Power Metal. Vocalist Edoardo Gergni sings one octave lower than most singers in this genre which means that the band sounds a tad heavier than the other Power Metal bands. He has a particular style which sounds aggressive and melodic at the same, and seems to know how to be a powerful performance without using childish exaggerations. The guitarists - Mr Strinati and De Maria - will impress you on this debut with well-constructed and fast guitar solos; our compliments for that! Band added some sprinkles of modernity to the sound and they found a point where keyboards leave a good taste on very emblematic atmospheres and they are not too dominant in the overall sound of the band. They sounds melodic and fresh, and that’s good because seems like they worked hard to build this piece of Metal.
An hour of Power Metal in the classic sense of the word. Fans of Kamelot, Blind Guardian, Edguy, Angra and so on, surely will enjoy “Urban Ubris”!!

The third full-length studio album by Italian Heavy Metal band.
Starting in 2009 with a plan to combine a love of pure European and British Heavy Metal, Italian quartet Ruler set about writing and recording material. There’s been a six-year break between previous album, as they gained a new drummer in 2015, with Steve Bianco. It’s been time well spent, as this is a high-octane effort for those who love catchy Heavy Metal with Progressive movements, circling back to a strong love affair with Iron Maiden and their offspring.
Ruler arranges an intricately designed formula of hard-hitting Heavy Metal developments, based on NWOBHM style. It’s hard not to be enraptured by the helium high voice of Daniele Francesco Valentini, who delivers a consistently complex flair of high-pitched pipes that scream with vengeful virtue. Matt Baldoni on guitars demonstrates fluidly polished persistency, pursuited with thunderously thumpy rhythms & prestigiously wondrous potential. Riveting remedies and quintessential quakes of stampeding tempos revolves with a stomping sound production & powerhouse drumming from Steve Bianco - who pounds with profusely robust pummelling. Audible bassist Mirko Negrino also contributes concretely gnarly efficaciousness. He delivers some funky lines during the more commercial sounding “Melanie” – and it’s through this song where you hear a bit of those German qualities in terms of phrasing and guitar finesse for Matt Baldoni.
Ruler certainly exceeded all original expectations on this album, comprising gang chants and acoustic vibrancy to rich trailblazing speed - this band is definitely a discovery worth jamming to! Splendid!!

Runic were formed in 2000 in order to produce something that can be described as Folk Death Metal. In 2001, they released a six-track Demo, "Awaiting The Sound Of The Unavoidable". Their hard work was rewarded with a contract with Massacre Records in October 2005. The result of this contract is "Liar Flags".
Even though Runic have absolutely nothing to do with the race of the mighty Vikings, they managed to release an album that kicks some major Scandinavian ass!!! Their composing skill is more than good, creating nine tracks of pure Pagan Death Metal. If you are a bit into Ensiferum or Finntroll then you know what it is. Everything has been played and structured so good that this record has been given the fresh air it needs. Even the keyboards are used smartly so as to add to the music. The keyboardist is really indispensable to Runic. He knows just where he has to play and exactly what he has to do. Some times making the climate more atmospheric and melancholic, other times starting an all out attack. These Spanish guys really know what a medieval battle looked like!
"Liar Flags" is the best soundtrack a battle could ever have! An aggressive breakthrough by Runic!! Many bands would really beg to release a debut like this one!!! It is a bomb that will explode and won't leave anything alive!!!! Be sure to stand somewhere near!!!!!

Debut full-length album by German Speed/Thrash Metal band.
Founded by guitarist and vocalist Simon Bihlmayer, the band calls itself worshippers of 80s European Speed Metal, but “Overdrive” is much more than just pure speed, as the band brings in lots of tasty riffs to give you multiple eargasms. The music is much more diverse and slightly slower than what you can expected with the name and the artwork. Make no mistake, it’s still fast and In-Your-Face speed machine, but just a tad bit slow.
After a rather pale “It Begins”, the album rushes off with the insanely beautiful “Hell on Earth”. The polished production can be felt all over the music as each minute part of the music really pierces through your ears, and those sharp riffs are just pure bliss for your ever Thrash craving ears. With parts of sharp riffage and parts of melodic mid-tempo guitar work, the listen is taken to a roller coaster ride with shades of multiple sub genres sprinkled everywhere in this 6:19 min song, really, everything in “Psycho” is commendable. Axemen Julian and Simon up their anti with “Remote Controlled” as they belt some of the most exquisite riffage from 4:33 to the end. Incredible.
The album chugs through the middle in a similar fast-paced manner, full of juicy guitar work. Jakob Weikmann relentlessly hammers the drums. What is so intriguing about the music here is, the title track “Overdrive” brings in riffage, which tells a story by itself, just like those classic 80s song, something you haven’t heard in any modern bands. Really, that’s class, pure class. The album ends with a classic anthemic song with headbangable riffage “I See A Fire” leaving a Accept-esque feeling in the listener.
Running Death for all the right reasons remind us of Artillery, Megadeth and Coroner as they please our ears with the riff based Speed/Thrash Metal. Everything offered here is commendable and worthy of your time!!
