To wit, both the slower, mildly Arabian-psychedelic bridge of "Death to the World" and the contemplative mood-meets-murmured vocals of "Your Heaven, My Hell" weigh in, passing at Kreator's hit-and-miss experiments of the 1990s before returning to the prevailing mosh-fest, and within that context there really can be no hard feelings - what's past is the past. The irony of which should be lost on neither fans nor the band members themselves, since embracing the past clearly paved the way toward Kreator's future by affording them this second lease on life and career. Set ablaze two years after its predecessor, “Renewal” took point as the face of Kreator and their next chapters in their career. Recorded at Morrisound Studios, Tampa, Florida, it is the first Kreator’s "experimental" album, introducing noticeable elements of Industrial and Hardcore.
The strong will for a change can beat any obstacle in one’s path, whether for personal fulfillment or mainly a purpose just to show that it can be done. After piercing the skin with the iconic “Coma Of Souls” (1990), starting the 90s with an iron fist, unanimously it was decided in the band that right after attain such a formidable status, it was time to break away and set course into a different world. Such a world that in the end might not be overly far from their beastly habits, yet much more dark, mysterious, even charmingly Gothic, filled with ounces of pain, misery and dismay due to society’s crumble and the human condition. Not bashing up skulls as used to in the past, Kreator proved that “Renewal” has its rougher edges, some of them even sharp and can shed blood at will. Even with mid-tempo, and on a few occasions slow tempo thrusts, the horrific past, present and future of the social structure is no less mortifying.
Maybe the need for change wasn’t because the band wanted it but also because the market demanded it as it changed as well. On the other hand, Kreator were never sellouts and remained true to their strong beliefs. “Renewal” is the band’s successful debut step outside of the Thrash Metal boundary, a marker that would eventually remain throughout the band’s 90s era!

The band’s first album recorded as a four piece, and probably the most underrated of all Kreator albums. It follows the trend of many other third albums like Megadeth's “So Far, So Good... So What?”, Destruction's “Release From Agony”, and Overkill's “Under The Influence” that are all underrated and overlooked.
“Terrible Certainty” is Kreator's best album after “Pleasure to Kill”. With this album, Kreator proved that they could follow up with the raw “Endless Pain” and the brutal “Pleasure To Kill”. If “Pleasure To Kill” didn't cement them among the Gods of Thrash Metal, this album definitely did! Thrash Metal at its best!!

Formed in Essen, Germany in 1984, Kreator are arguably the most influential and successful European Thrash Metal band ever, like many of their European Speed Metal brethren, Kreator fused Metallica's Thrash innovations with Venom's Proto-Black Metal imagery. Often credited with helping pioneer Death Metal and Black Metal by containing several elements of what was to become those genres. The band has achieved worldwide sales of over two million units for combined sales of all their albums, making them one of the best-selling German Thrash Metal bands of all time. The band’s style has changed several times over the years, from a Venom-inspired Speed Metal sound, later moving in to Thrash Metal, and including a period of transitioning from Thrash to Industrial Metal and Gothic Metal throughout the 1990s. In the early 2000s, Kreator returned to their classic Thrash Metal sound, which has continued to the present. The third re-release of the tenth full-length full-length studio album by legendary German Thrash Metal band.
After almost a decade of musical experimentation with their Metal sound (starting with "Renewal"), with this album the band returned to their 1980s Thrash Metal style, although it does make use of Gothenburg Metal elements.
So strong is the album that it not only reclaims their previous glory, but even sets about to show a bit of one-upmanship on it. The album utilizes much of Kreator's earlier musical leanings while moving the band forward into a new age. In fact, in many ways it seems as if Kreator has taken lessons from recent releases that, while experimenting with new styles, left the band's old ways somewhat forgotten. By combining those experimental ideas with the old character, Kreator has basically reinvented itself. What you have is something that should please all of Kreator's old-time fans who may have felt a bit disenfranchised by the band's later works, while still creating a fresh sound.
This album is Thrash Metal the way it was meant to progress through the 90s, it is mature, brutal, and loaded with mosh-pit infusing moments in every piece. The production is top-notch, the performance fantastic, and the style near perfection. It is worth every penny to purchase, is one of the best Thrash Metal records released, and should definitely be listened to by anyone who wants anything to do with Heavy Metal music.
In 2005, "Violent Revolution" was ranked number 436 in Rock Hard Magazine's book of "The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time".

10th full-length album by the legendary Hard’n’Heavy band from Switzerland.
This album is awesome and the heaviest thing they had done in ages. It’s a relief for those who thought the band was finished after the lame previous record, that the band resurrected themselves, and crafted something really awesome. As well as being the band's first album on MCA Records, it saw the return of original Krokus founding member Chris von Rohr.
The attempt at re-connecting with their roots is obvious – not only their early guitarist Rohr, but re-recording a version of ‘Winning Man’ from their 1981 album ‘Hardware’ and using a mixture of material that includes speed metal attacks, and massive bombastic anthems like ‘Let it Go’ which are absolutely great examples of their classic sound.

Krown are the new Italian gods of slow, heavy old school classical Doom Metal. This excellent power trio created a wonderful, heavy and catchy slab of premium Doom for everybody into bands such as Black Sabbath, Trouble, Electric Wizard or even Type O Negative and Kyuss!
With lyrics based on the writings of famous fantasy authors such as Howard, Tolkien, Moorcock, & Martin, and cool cover art to boot, much of what you get here on their latest is quite simply crushing dark fantasy themed Doom.
"Hyborian Age" is a serious, crushing Doom album from this very 'un-Italian' sounding band. The whole 'dark fantasy' themes add even more intrigue to what is a very old school styled Doom album. One thing is for sure - this band is totally addictive.
If you like Doom Metal and old school Heavy Metal - you must check this amazing band out then! Wonderful music deserves to be heard!!

The fourth full-length studio album by legendary Soviet Speed Metal band.
Initially it planned to call the album "Рок навсегда" ("Rock Forever") and add the first song with the same name, but the record company changed the song to "Intro" and title to "Круиз-1". Also, obviously, label Melodiya took band's demos, written in the basement. Even so, "Круиз-1" was sold more than 12.5 million copies in UZZR!
In spite of credits on the cover, in fact album was recorded without Vasiliev's involvement.

The debut full-length album by Norwegian Black Metal band.
This is a project of musician of bands such as: Mök, Astaroth and Attentat.
“Noema” presents us with an excellent view of Black Metal, very eerie and melodic. But the album isn’t “limited” to Black Metal, there are some Punk and Doom elements which are very welcomed when used with creativity and quality, such is the case of “Noema”. In a way, you might feel that, especially when it comes to the guitars, this is one more pure Norwegian Black Metal album that could have been released by Mayhem or Gorgoroth, but, if you pay attention to the details, this is a unique release and not an album in which the musician simply wanted to recreate the old-school classics.
The drumming work is very enjoyable, fast and chaotic, completely fitting the music created by Kvalvaag. The production is clean, many a little bit lo-fi, but no Black Metal listener would complain about it, so one more positive aspect for Kvalvaag’s “Noema”. All in all, this is highly impressive, even more for being the band’s first full-length album. Amazing stuff!

For the first time on vinyl, the second full-length studio solo-album by legendary American coloratura soprano singer of Ukrainian ethnicity, Kvitka “Kacey” Cisyk.
A follow-up to her previous album, "Songs Of Ukraine" (1980), "Two Colors" is a powerful and deeply emotional collection that highlights the beauty of traditional Ukrainian Folk music.
Poured her heart into this album, she sings the songs that we have long known and loved. But the main thing here is still something else – namely, how these songs are sung and played. And it is done really skilfully, and in such way that one immediately feels – every song has been cherished, pampered as if a beloved child, for which one does not begrudge either the heart or the effort. Everything here is harmonious – the voice so gentle and clear, and the cautious, and thus very appropriate interventions of the orchestra, and even use of the instruments not traditional for such songs.
Fragility is the first impression that arises at the beginning and is there already after the music subsides. And, of course, it is nice that this is singing of a person who lived not in Ukraine but in the U.S. and sang both in English and in Ukrainian.
If you want to show someone the beauty of the Ukrainian song, or how this beauty can be preserved far beyond the Ukrainian land – this Ukrainian Symphonic Folk album will be a good example.
