25 years after the band’s original inception, Denmark’s Infernal Death rise from the depths to deliver their punishing debut.
Even without a detailed background on the band’s roots, its safe to say this album has been a long time coming. Each of the seven songs appeared in some form on the band’s early demos from 1992-93, and, following a 20-year hiatus, they were re-recorded for the 2014 demo “Resurrected”. As one might expect, the production of the earlier recordings was primitive at best, so “Call To War” serves just as much to do the original compositions justice as it does to kick ass and make a name for the band, which it does.
The band do a great job of maintaining their Old School street cred with furious, foot-stomping displays, but they also show an awareness of the stylistic evolutions Death Metal has seen since the band first started.
The best part about the album is its digestibility; none of the songs are more (or less) technical than they need to be, and the band are more than adept at getting their point across: this is not music for the faint of heart. Each song brims with a controlled fury that rages without regard for those trampled in their path. A well-written and satisfying effort, “Call To War” delivers on the promise Infernal Death had long held, and is a worthwhile pickup for anyone who likes Old School Death Metal!

It’s without a doubt acceptable album in means of letting the music show off its qualities. Riff-wise it’s all out Technical, and you’ll be hard up trying to spot five seconds that doesn’t have at least one riff variation or tempo change.
There are tons of tempo changes, often in a frantic stop and go action that gives the tunes a sense of desperation, in lack of a better word. If the riffing were an entity, it would be a truly tormented one, desperately trying to break out into full-blown chaos and engulf the world in flaming turmoil. As far as the drumming goes, it’s a nonstop, full on stampede of blast beats, but still with a buttload of tempo changes and varying drum patterns. And, as the drummer’s busy with blasting, the riffs on the other hand can take on an entirely different tempo. Sure, it’s fast and technical, but set in a more chugging pace instead of the frenzied one the drums take on. But during most of the breaks (one can’t call it breakdowns, seeing as it’s only half a second long most of the time) the guitar and drums meet for a short visit before it takes off again.
It winds up somewhere in between Deeds Of Flesh, Decapitation and Origin, but with a slightly harsher and more brutal approach giving it a hint of Amputated Genitals as well as Visceral Bleeding and such similar acts.
But not only the music carry those ultra-brutal tendencies, but the vocals as well. The deep, gory and grunting growls are far from the ordinary growls you’ll find in Death Metal, but that of the most brutal variant. This tight and technical execution has definitely set them down the right path!!
All the material for the entire album written during 2006 while the band was searching for a label to release the “Tribute To Apocalypse” album.

After the departure of founding member and frontman Fenris in autumn 2012, Ingrimm finally released new album, "Henkt Him!". Now the new vocalist René Brand open fire at the microphone recording to prove himself. Their new album has a rather heavy sound somewhere between Industrial Metal and a few Thrash Metal parts. Now they put more Metal but less Folk influences in their sound. There are a few bagpipes, hurdy gurdies and violins in the songs. Sometimes, it rather feels as if the Folk instruments were alibis to get the attention of the Medieval Rock scene for a Neue Deutsche Härte band. Ingrimm somewhat sounds like a mixture of Grantig, Saltatio Mortis and Stahlmann.
Even after some personnel turbulence, Ingrimm show clear in which direction they steer their ship. The instruments are played first class and testify to a masterly production. The songs are full of Metal influences with interesting rhythms, excellent drums and a perfect violin.
Tougher than the rest of the Medieval Rock community, Ingrimm establish the genre midfield and are a good alternative to the standards! Not more but also not less!!

The third full-length album by the British Speed/Heavy/Power Metal band.
English band Intense has been plugging away at their craft for 20 years. While 20 years only puts them back to the early Nineties, one listen to this disc find that their roots go deeper into the earlier. "The Shape Of Rage" is blistering platter of old school Metal mixing Heavy, Speed and Power Metal in a melodic wrapper, pushed by a driving rhythm section and twin guitar attack.
From the gate, Intense offering a songs that clip along at fast and heavy pace. "Anubis", "The Elemental" and "One Man's Word" gallop along, leaving little time for catching your breath. Lightning guitar solos pepper each song. Once you get to "For the Fallen", Intense, in terms of speed, lightens up quite a bit. It's a heavy, steady piece nuanced by vocals over light guitar and drums, and a smattering of acoustic guitar. But, don't dismay it cranks up with some big riffage and more guitar solos for an epic feel.
"Save Me from Myself", "Lie" and the title cut return to racing speed, typical of the album. But they also express how easily Intense can deliver bombastic riffage in a truly melodic arrangement. While the speed side of the band is quite evident and exciting, they're even better when they tone things down or simply merge them with more steady Metal as on Maidenesque sounding song, "Haunted" (note, the bass segment just before four minutes also). "Skull of Sidon II" delivers a similar arrangement, sublime and steady at first, but then breaks out with speed midway. The result is a song with an epic feel.
For pure and classic Heavy Metal, with equal parts Speed, Power and melodic Metal, Intense's "The Shape Of Rage" delivers the goods. Fans of 'True' Metal should buy this straight away!! Up the Irons!!!

Influences come from classic Bay Area bands of the 80's like Exodus and early Metallica to the giants of Euro Thrash like Kreator just to mention a few names but all these are fused into Invection's music along with their own personal style resulting in powerful, passionate and aggressive songs.
Andrew Kubiak's vocals are almost identical to Tom Arraya's style back in the days of “Divine Intervention” and “Undisputed Attitude”.
Invection's music is fast and heavy but at the same time has that vibe and feel albums like “Hell Awaits”, “Reign In Blood” and at times they bring to mind the golden days of Nuclear Assault's “Handle With Care” and “Game Over”. John Haag's drumming is absolutely stunning he has the speed, the groove and his playing can elevate even the weaker moments of the album into a headbanging Thrash fest.
Andrew Kubiak and Drew Gage's guitar playing is filled with great riffs but there aren't afraid in casting aside their influences and get a bit more technical with their leads. Listener doesn't have to face a constant hammering of fast riffs and tons of double bass for the sake of speed only. Invection know when to slow down and mix various mid tempo parts in their songs adding more variety without losing character.
Production is very fitting keeping the balances between modern Thrash of today and old school 80's sound. Drums sound natural moving away from the cursed digital triggered trend that dominated metal productions from mid 90's to 00's.
If you consider a fan of 80's Slayer style and love to wreck your neck with bands like Exodus, Nuclear Assault, Kreator, early Metallica and miss the Thrash days of Megadeth, give Invection a chance and you won't be disappointed!!
