Schizo have finally come out from the Underground Metal scene and have become a big name in Metal, probably the best Italian Metal band around, and really deserve to be called so, because now Bulldozer and Sadist have split up, and Necrodeath and Disarmonia Mundi have really sold out, Schizo remains one of the few big Italian bands that can really call themselves "Metal".
Listen to this CD once and you'll immediately realize this is a bad ass band, under every aspect. Every band member in fact plays a really big part in the CD and every instrument sounds ferocious and quick paced, although Schizo can master very well tempo changes, ranging from fast guitar riffs, with crushing drum blast beasts and very complicate bass parts, to instant slow down, with the drums just keeping the tempo, the guitars making plain harmonics and with a plain melodic voice. Schizo also can create wonderful intros.
The singing and drumming play the lions part, and are simply breath-taking.
In fact, Nicola Accurso's vocals are every time aggressive, and are very particular, because they are halfway between plain screaming and Tom Araya's aggressive singing tone, but are much quicker and aggressive and never drop a tone or look weak. Accurso can really sing in a wild sounding scream, and makes a wonderful impression on the listener.
The drums are even better: their sound is crushing from start to end, and they honor the Thrash/Black Metal genre. The blast beats play a big part, both because they are the main drum parts in the songs and because they're always quick and tough. Double bass is also used very well and even the tom parts are creative and complex, always playing in fast tempos.
With artwork by the legendary Lorenzo Mariani (Darkthrone, Mayhem) and arguably decent production from Peter In De Betou, Schizo's second effort is admirable enough! "Main Frame Collapse" might have been compelling enough to rival the mighty Necrodeath back in 1989, but Schizo might have been consigned to the Underground by a higher power a long time ago. Future serial killers, however, should look no further…

The fourth full-length album by cult Italian Thrash Metal band.
Schizo have been pioneers of the Italian Extreme Metal scene together with Bulldozer and Necrodeath. Band was founded in 1984 and symbolizes one of the most important brand in Italian Extreme Metal scene. Chuck Schuldiner, mastermind of legendary Death band, was asked to join the band for the recording sessions of “Main Frame Collapse” in 1989; however, due to the intense activity with his band, Schuldiner was forced to deny the request. Schizo was on hold between 1999 and 2005. Their 2007 waited come back release, “Cicatriz Black”, has been extremely well received by critics and fans. In September of 2007, founding member Alberto Penzin decided to leave the band due to musical differences and personal problems with the rest of the band. Then, Dario Casabona was named as new four strings player. Band released the third and last full-length album in 2010, “Hallucination Cramps”.
The fourth album, “Rotten Spiral”, gives us intense, perfectly timed, beautifully executed melodies and harmonies, with some of the most cleverly mastered combinations between the instruments and vocals. “Rotten Spiral” is a real fast paced and head moving album from start to finish. If you remember the old school greats in Metal you’ll love this, with the track "Skeptic Flesh", and those melodic sections delivering power so intense it’ll blow your head off.
The solos are brilliantly crafted, from the dive bombs and pitched harmonics to the tremolo picking. The title track is brilliant, a real head mover throughout. Speed, ambience, power, riffs to melt your mind, vocally driven, and the solos to send shivers through you.
Overall, this is an incredible album, which would appeal to all Metalheads looking for something more from their Metal!

The second full-length album by the American Pop-Rock/Altenative/Electroclash/Glam Rock band.
The first Scissor Sisters album was one of the catchiest debuts of the new millennium, but also one of the best-crafted. All camp on the surface but with plenty of substance underneath, it succeeded because the band wrote fantastic songs and backed them with excellent productions, usually in the vein of their biggest Pop/Dance heroes, from the Bee Gees to George Michael.
If the follow-up, "Ta-Dah", doesn't reach as high as its predecessor, it's certainly not the fault of some spot-on arrangements by head producer Babydaddy. Soundtracking his own mythical night at Studio 54 circa 1978, Babydaddy's Discoball Jazzfest Studio in New York City pumps out tracks gloriously in debt to the Bee Gees (of course), Elton John (although not on the track he contributes piano to), the Rolling Stones' brassy late-'70s stompers, Electro-Disco arena Rock (if there is such a thing), and some sort of '70s Disco hokum that features a very talented Gina Gershon on jew's-harp. Similarities to their debut are much easier to find than differences, although the songs aren't quite as memorable (except the single "I Don't Feel Like Dancin'") and "Ta-Dah" is slightly same in comparison. Still, Scissor Sisters remain consummate masters of their material; the chord changes on the ballad "Land of a Thousand Words" defy listeners to not think of a glittering discoball, which is precisely the right image to be conjured.
Album features collaborations with Elton John, Carlos Alomar and Paul Williams. It's debuted at number 19 on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 42000 copies in its first week. Upon its release, "Ta-Dah" received positive reviews from most music critics.

The first re-release of the fourth live album by legendary German Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
The first acoustic live album and another non-Metal passion project from Germany’s original Heavy Metal band, "Acoustica" composed of a number of ‘unplugged’ performances from one of their early tours from this millennium (there’s also a DVD and VHS of the same title that’s a bit longer). 
"Acoustica" was recorded during three concerts held in February 2001 at the Convento do Beato in Lisbon, Portugal. It was a most unusual set for the band, as Klaus Meine comments on the DVD. The band was supported by female backing vocalists, a percussionist, an extra guitarist, and Christian Kolonovits on keyboards. Kolonovits also collaborated on rearranging the songs for the acoustic set. He had previously worked with the band as a conductor and arranger on the "Moment Of Glory" album.
Like the orchestral album "Moment Of Glory", the majority of tracks rendered acoustically here are the band’s ballads. And once again, it’s no surprise, as these are the tracks most easily adaptable to the ‘unplugged’ sound. However, unlike the aforementioned attempt at diversity, here the Scorpions are a bit more ambitious and varied. Scorpions performed four new songs: "Life Is Too Short", "Back to You", "I Wanted to Cry" and "When Love Kills Love", the last of which was released as a Single. All the new songs were featured on the VHS, while "Back to You" and five other previously recorded songs were omitted from the CD.
"Acoustica" also contains cover versions of The Cars' "Drive", Kansas' "Dust in the Wind", and the Queen hit "Love of My Life".
The album attained Gold status in Brazil, and the DVD attained Platinum status. In Portugal, the album went straight to No.1, selling 50 000 copies.

The first remastered re-release of the eighth full-length studio album by legendary German Hard’n’Heavy band.
"Blackout" was the Scorpions' first majorly successful album, due to its clever balance of Pop/Rock (the title track), power ballads ("When the Smoke Is Going Down"), and catchy Heavy Metal ("Dynamite", "No One Like You"). Vocalist Klaus Meine had a throat operation prior to the record's release, and surprisingly, his voice sounds more melodic and lively than ever. The rest of the band sounds great as well, and the album is highlighted by the fast-paced performances of guitarists Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs.
After losing his voice during the writing of the album, lead vocalist Klaus Meine had to undergo surgery on his vocal cords, and it was uncertain whether he would be able to record it. Demos of the material were recorded with Don Dokken as vocalist; however none of those recordings are featured on the album. Rudolf Schenker could not choose between his guitar solos on "China White", so the US and European releases differed in this small detail.
A self-portrait of artist Gottfried Helnwein is featured on the cover of the album. Rudolf Schenker portrays this character in the "No One Like You" music video.
The RIAA certified Blackout Gold on June 24, 1982 and Platinum on March 8, 1984.
"Blackout" has arguably been called the Scorpions' best record ever, and that statement is not unjust - it has more energy than anything else they have ever released!

After the release of "Savage Amusement" in 1988, the Scorpions expressed disdain toward the album, feeling that it was too polished when compared to their other work. Their longtime producer, Dieter Dierks, was replaced with well-known Rock producer Keith Olsen, who would produce "Crazy World" and assist in making it one of the Scorpions' greatest recordings. Their music had certainly changed since "Savage Amusement", sounding a little bit heavier and less glamorous. But even with the Metal sound, the songs remain melodic and catchy. The power ballads on the album, "Wind of Change" and "Send Me an Angel", are arguably two of the band's greatest slow numbers, boasting soothing harmony and lyrics. 
"Crazy World" peaked at number 21 on Billboard 200 Chart in 1991. The song "Wind of Change" reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1991, and "Send Me an Angel" reached number 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In the UK, it remains the only Scorpions album to attain Silver certification (60,000 units sold) by the British Phonographic Industry, achieving this in November 1991. In the United States, it is the band's second best-selling album to 1984's "Love At First Sting", and their last one to be certified at least Gold by the RIAA.

The twelfth full-length album by the legendary German Melodic Hard Rock band.
Scorpions' 12th studio album in 21 years, tried to pick up where "Crazy World" had left off, continuing to pursue a harder and more dynamic sound. Probably a bit influenced by Seattle's emerging Grunge scene, Scorpions turned to an even more Heavy guitar-based sound and even louder drumming in its mix, in an attempt to follow music trends of that time. Unfortunately, however, "Face The Heat" doesn't manage to be as consistent as its predecessor: after a very heavy and positive start, it starts to deteriorate and it doesn't seem able to pick itself up and match that initial promising start. It's an album that presents some very good tracks and a considerable amount of inspired moments, but its inconsistency often keeps it from achieving its full potential. Certainly, it's a decent album, but judging from its opening 5 or 6 tracks, it could've been a lot better.
This album marked band's status as a sort of political band with the song "Alien Nation", which was about the re-unification of Germany. Album had a contemporary touch to it, as the band were then going with the current trends, before later returning to their original style in "Unbreakable" in 2004.
This is also the last album to feature drummer Herman Rarebell, and the first with Ralph Rieckermann on bass guitar.
The song "Under the Same Sun" was played during the ending credits of the 1994 film "On Deadly Ground".
Still a nice addition to Scorpions' long discography!

Although the Scorpions had already achieved fame after 1982's "Blackout", "Love At First Sting" brought them their biggest Single of the decade, the slick anthem "Rock You Like A Hurricane," with some greatly underrated songs to back it up.
The album opens with the hair-raising "Bad Boys Running Wild" and continues with songs such as the memorable "Big City Nights" and the half-ballad, half-powerhouse rocker "Coming Home". The record also contains what just may be the band's best ballad ever, the tear-jerking "Still Loving You".
“Love At First Sting” became the most successful album of the band in the USA, where it peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1984 and went triple Platinum. The song "Rock You Like a Hurricane" reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the same year; "Still Loving You" reached number 64 on the same chart, number 14 in Germany, number 2 in the French and Swiss Top 50.
Considering the fact that the album has some of their best-ever Singles, "Love At First Sting" is definitely a must for all fans of the Scorpions. This album is notable in that it was one of the first digitally recorded Heavy Metal albums ever released.

Being the band’s first album to be released by Harvest/EMI, following the band's departure from RCA label, “Lovedrive” was a major evolution of the band's sound, which exhibited their classic style that would be later developed over their next few albums.
Prior to "Lovedrive" recording, the Scorpions' line-up had a major change when their lead guitarist, Uli Jon Roth, quit the band. Michael Schenker, younger brother of rhythm guitarist Rudolf Schenker, performed lead guitar on 3 songs. This was also the first album to feature Matthias Jabs on lead guitar, and by extent, first to feature the band's "classic" line-up. With this in mind, the band not only highlighted the album with the licks and riffs of three guitarists (Rudolf Schenker, Michael Schenker, Matthias Jabs), but they also dramatically changed their style to sound more like that of Van Halen. This change is quite welcome; not only are the performances more unpredictable, but the lyrics and melodies are better written. In fact, some of the Scorpions' best songs, such as "Loving You Sunday Morning", "Holiday" and "Coast to Coast" are found here, making it one of their finest!
"Lovedrive" reached No. 55 on the US charts, demonstrating that the band was gathering an international following. Album certified as Gold on 28 May 1986 by the RIAA and ranked 25 on IGN's list of the top 25 Metal Albums.

Limited Tour Edition of the eighteenth full-length studio album by legendary German Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
German Heavy Metal icons Scorpions hit the 50-year mark in 2015, being initially conceived all the way back in 1965 by a 16-year-old Rudolf Schenker as a beat band very much in line with the trends of the time, and slowly evolving into a Hard Rock force to contend with by the end of the '70s. Multi-Platinum-selling singles and omnipresent commercial success peaked out for the Scorpions sometime in the early '80s, but they kept the flame alive for a dedicated army of followers for decades to come.
"Sting In The Tail" was a declarative return to the radio Metal roots of the band's most popular work from the '80s. "Return To Forever" follows suit very much, with the 12 new songs here embodying the same over the top celebration and hedonistic revelry of a much younger Scorpions. Production handled by longtime Scorpions collaborators Mikael Nord Andersson and Martin Hansen replaces some of the thin production choices of the '80s with smarter arrangements and better sound on radio-ready Pop-metal jams like "Rollin' Home" and more introspective tunes like "Eye of the Storm." The songwriting here is on par with some of the band's best work, which figures, as they've been working in a field they helped originate for decades.
Fans of the band's best-loved material will immediately connect with the fun-loving party burners and soft-edged power balladry of the album, all leaning just enough on the band's own storied past for influence but inspired enough to avoid dipping into self-parody. They pretty much wrote the book on sleazy FM radio Metal, so in the case of revisiting their glory days on "Return To Forever", who's to blame the Scorpions for taking a few pages from the book they wrote themselves?
"Return To Forever" is classic Scorpions. They have come up with an album that oozes 1980s and it is just what their fans want from them! The soaring guitars, Meine’s accent cutting through; it will take the listener right back to when Rock was king, beautifully nostalgic. Return to Forever does not break new ground, but it certainly proves the Scorpions have a lot of life left in them and they are not ready to hang up the guitars just yet!!
The album marks the final release of the band with longtime drummer James Kottak, who was replaced in 2016 by former Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee.

DVDs include two complete concerts from the 2015 tour: The open-air gig at the French Hellfest festival, where Scorpions headlined, and their show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York featuring an impressive guest performance on "No One Like You" by twelve-year-old guitarist Brandon Niederauer.
The brand-new fifteen-minute video documentary "On The Road In America" by Dennis Dirksen gets to the heart of the matter that the Scorpions are able to consistently attract new generations of fans, who are delighted by their songs, sound, and shows. Shot during the current world tour in California and Las Vegas, it gives a voice to fans spanning from teenagers to rock 'n' roll veterans. The film impressively shows how popular the Scorpions are in the U.S., and it's touching to see fans burst into tears while taking photos with the musicians. One highlight is the story of the Ukrainian woman who at the time used "Wind Of Change" as an impetus to immigrate to the U.S., and has been a dedicated follower of the band ever since.
In an extensive track-by-track interview, Klaus Meine, Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs offer a sneak peek into the band's musical universe with anecdotes about the origin and meaning of the songs on "Return To Forever".

The songwriting here is on par with some of the band's best work, which figures, as they've been working in a field they helped originate for decades.
Fans of the band's best-loved material will immediately connect with the fun-loving party burners and soft-edged power balladry of the album, all leaning just enough on the band's own storied past for influence but inspired enough to avoid dipping into self-parody. They pretty much wrote the book on sleazy FM radio Metal, so in the case of revisiting their glory days on "Return To Forever", who's to blame the Scorpions for taking a few pages from the book they wrote themselves?
"Return To Forever" is classic Scorpions. They have come up with an album that oozes 1980s and it is just what their fans want from them! The soaring guitars, Meine’s accent cutting through; it will take the listener right back to when Rock was king, beautifully nostalgic. Return to Forever does not break new ground, but it certainly proves the Scorpions have a lot of life left in them and they are not ready to hang up the guitars just yet!!
The album marks the final release of the band with longtime drummer James Kottak, who was replaced in 2016 by former Motörhead drummer Mikkey Dee.

The first re-release of the tenth full-length studio album by legendary German Hard’n’Heavy band.
The Scorpions' two previous releases, "Blackout" and "Love At First Sting", were mostly successful due to the band's ability to adjust with the times; with "Blackout", they used the classic Power Rock introduced by bands like Van Halen, and for "Love At First Sting" they used similar melodies, but with a harder, tighter sound akin to the work of such bands as Dokken and REO Speedwagon. With "Savage Amusement", the band's first studio recording in almost four years, the Scorpions experimented with more polished Hair Metal melodies that Def Leppard and the like had made popular. The end result is polished and often predictable music that, while good, on the whole fails to be as infectious as the music on their previous albums.
The album peaked at No. 5 in the US and was certified Platinum by the RIAA on June 20, 1988.
It was the last Scorpions record to be produced by Dieter Dierks.
Remastered 2015, 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition includes 180 g vinyl + CD with the original album and 5 previously unreleased tracks.

A tentative title for the album was "Humanity: Hour II", however this was eventually scrapped.
What makes this album so good? The simple fact that every single song on this album Rocks!
In an interview, Rudolf Schenker explained that their goal was to update their sound to the sound of their classic period in the 1980s. He explained: "If you take the best song elements from the '80s albums, and put these on one album, you come up with the “Sting In The Tail” album. So in this case we tried to re-invent the Scorpions sound from the '80s, using the same DNA after putting in a modern twist, to make it sound like today's music".
The album has a duet featuring the Finnish Symphonic Metal singer Tarja Turunen, in the song "The Good Die Young".
First week sales in the United States were 18.500 copies sold, placing it at No. 23 on the Billboard 200. In Germany, the album debuted at No. 2, in France at No. 16 and in Greece at No. 1.  The album also peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard Rock Charts.
Scorpions promised us a farewell album that would give the fans the same sound you would expect from the band on their prime, and they delivered it!
