The eleventh full-length studio album by legendary German Hard’n’Heavy band.
The band's first album in a decade and a half to not be produced by Dieter Dierks and is widely considered to be the last "classic" Scorpions album. It was the last studio album to feature the "Lovedrive" - era lineup, with bassist Francis Buchholz leaving the band in January 1992.
After the release of "Savage Amusement" in 1988, the Scorpions expressed disdain toward the album, feeling that it was too polished when compared to their other work. Their longtime producer, Dieter Dierks, was replaced with well-known Rock producer Keith Olsen, who would produce "Crazy World" and assist in making it one of the Scorpions' greatest recordings. Their music had certainly changed since "Savage Amusement", sounding a little bit heavier and less glamorous. But even with the Metal sound, the songs remain melodic and catchy. The power ballads on the album, "Wind of Change" and "Send Me an Angel", are arguably two of the band's greatest slow numbers, boasting soothing harmony and lyrics. 
"Crazy World" peaked at number 21 on Billboard 200 Chart in 1991. The song "Wind of Change" reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1991, and "Send Me an Angel" reached number 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In the UK, it remains the only Scorpions album to attain Silver certification (60,000 units sold) by the British Phonographic Industry, achieving this in November 1991. In the United States, it is the band's second best-selling album to 1984's "Love At First Sting", and their last one to be certified at least Gold by the RIAA.
"Crazy World" remains the Scorpions' finest '90s album and is sure to please its listeners!

"Blackout" was the Scorpions' first majorly successful album, due to its clever balance of Pop/Rock (the title track), power ballads ("When the Smoke Is Going Down"), and catchy Heavy Metal ("Dynamite", "No One Like You"). Vocalist Klaus Meine had a throat operation prior to the record's release, and surprisingly, his voice sounds more melodic and lively than ever. The rest of the band sounds great as well, and the album is highlighted by the fast-paced performances of guitarists Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs.
After losing his voice during the writing of the album, lead vocalist Klaus Meine had to undergo surgery on his vocal cords, and it was uncertain whether he would be able to record it. Demos of the material were recorded with Don Dokken as vocalist; however none of those recordings are featured on the album. Rudolf Schenker could not choose between his guitar solos on "China White", so the US and European releases differed in this small detail.
A self-portrait of artist Gottfried Helnwein is featured on the cover of the album. Rudolf Schenker portrays this character in the "No One Like You" music video.
The RIAA certified Blackout Gold on June 24, 1982 and Platinum on March 8, 1984.
"Blackout" has arguably been called the Scorpions' best record ever, and that statement is not unjust - it has more energy than anything else they have ever released!

Although the Scorpions had already achieved fame after 1982's "Blackout", "Love At First Sting" brought them their biggest Single of the decade, the slick anthem "Rock You Like A Hurricane," with some greatly underrated songs to back it up.
The album opens with the hair-raising "Bad Boys Running Wild" and continues with songs such as the memorable "Big City Nights" and the half-ballad, half-powerhouse rocker "Coming Home". The record also contains what just may be the band's best ballad ever, the tear-jerking "Still Loving You".
“Love At First Sting” became the most successful album of the band in the USA, where it peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1984 and went triple Platinum. The song "Rock You Like a Hurricane" reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the same year; "Still Loving You" reached number 64 on the same chart, number 14 in Germany, number 2 in the French and Swiss Top 50.
Considering the fact that the album has some of their best-ever Singles, "Love At First Sting" is definitely a must for all fans of the Scorpions. This album is notable in that it was one of the first digitally recorded Heavy Metal albums ever released.

The album includes new, completely rerecorded versions of their greatest hits, as well as cover songs of other bands, that have hugely influenced Scorpions down the years. The half of the album features re-recorded versions of their own classic songs and the other half cover versions of 1960s and early 1970s popular Rock songs.
Twenty months after Scorpions released what was announced as their last album, “Sting In The Tail”, and promoted it with what was billed as their Farewell World Tour, they have a new package combining newly-recorded productions of some of their classic songs, including "Rock You Like A Hurricane", "Wind of Change" and "Still Loving You", with covers of songs previously recorded by Soft Cell, T. The twelfth full-length album by the legendary German Melodic Hard Rock band.
Scorpions' 12th studio album in 21 years, tried to pick up where "Crazy World" had left off, continuing to pursue a harder and more dynamic sound. Probably a bit influenced by Seattle's emerging Grunge scene, Scorpions turned to an even more Heavy guitar-based sound and even louder drumming in its mix, in an attempt to follow music trends of that time. Unfortunately, however, "Face The Heat" doesn't manage to be as consistent as its predecessor: after a very heavy and positive start, it starts to deteriorate and it doesn't seem able to pick itself up and match that initial promising start. It's an album that presents some very good tracks and a considerable amount of inspired moments, but its inconsistency often keeps it from achieving its full potential. Certainly, it's a decent album, but judging from its opening 5 or 6 tracks, it could've been a lot better.
This album marked band's status as a sort of political band with the song "Alien Nation", which was about the re-unification of Germany. Album had a contemporary touch to it, as the band were then going with the current trends, before later returning to their original style in "Unbreakable" in 2004.
This is also the last album to feature drummer Herman Rarebell, and the first with Ralph Rieckermann on bass guitar.
The song "Under the Same Sun" was played during the ending credits of the 1994 film "On Deadly Ground".
Still a nice addition to Scorpions' long discography!

The fifteenth full-length album by the legendary German Hard’n’Heavy band.
In this album, Scorpions return to their original, rawer style of music after many concept albums and experimenting with different styles. After the bad “Eye To Eye“ the Scorpions finally try it with honest Hard Rock on “Unbreakable“.  Songs like the fast “Someday Is Now” will blows through your ears, “My City My Town” is perfect for relaxed cruising on the highway with its nice chorus and the good bridge, “Through My Eyes”, which alternates between acoustic guitars and hefty heavier riffs, only put you in a good mood. Especially the latter song should find its way into the Hanover based band’s live set, because it is closest to the old grenades of the 80s. But also with songs like the dramatic opener “New Generation”, the melancholic rocker “Deep And Dark” or the very energetic, but still very melodic “Borderline” they deliver the goods, depending on your mood.
The Scorpions have a very unique sound, and this album is an expansion on that wonderful sound. The riffs are new and fresh, and although they lost a bit of the metal feel they still have that old feel to them. They did add a modern feel to it with some more effects, which is very noticeable during the solo on "Can You Feel It". Speaking of solos they're great, a bit shorter than normal but still great on the ears!
This was the first album with Pawel Maciwoda on bass guitar.
Overall this album kicks ass! Go get it right now! If you’re a fan of the older Scorpions you won’t be disappointed. They've got some monster hits on this album and let’s just hope that they keep on coming. The scorpion has re-adjusted its poisonous sting!!

A tentative title for the album was "Humanity: Hour II", however this was eventually scrapped.
What makes this album so good? The simple fact that every single song on this album Rocks!
In an interview, Rudolf Schenker explained that their goal was to update their sound to the sound of their classic period in the 1980s. He explained: "If you take the best song elements from the '80s albums, and put these on one album, you come up with the “Sting In The Tail” album. So in this case we tried to re-invent the Scorpions sound from the '80s, using the same DNA after putting in a modern twist, to make it sound like today's music".
The album has a duet featuring the Finnish Symphonic Metal singer Tarja Turunen, in the song "The Good Die Young".
First week sales in the United States were 18.500 copies sold, placing it at No. 23 on the Billboard 200. In Germany, the album debuted at No. 2, in France at No. 16 and in Greece at No. 1.  The album also peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard Rock Charts.
Scorpions promised us a farewell album that would give the fans the same sound you would expect from the band on their prime, and they delivered it!

The band's first studio album with drummer Mikkey Dee (ex- Motörhead), who replaced James Kottak in 2016, and their first in seven years since "Return To Forever" (2015), making it their longest gap between studio albums.

The fourth re-release of the third full-length studio album by legendary German Hard Rock band.
The music on this album was a departure from the Progressive rock of the two previous albums, to Hard Rock sound of shorter and tighter arrangements, with which the band would achieve their global success and fame. This was the first of two studio albums to feature drummer Rudy Lenners, as well as their first collaboration with producer Dieter Dierks, who would go on to help the band release a long streak of internationally successful albums up until the 1980s.
After the recordings of "Lonesome Crow", the band went on tour, during which they served as the warm-up act for the British band "UFO". "UFO" vocalist Phil Mogg was very impressed by Michael Schenker's guitar playing and charismatic performance, so he offered him to join the band. Michael agreed and left "Scorpions" in 1973, even before the band started recording "Fly to the Rainbow". This departure proved to be decisive, not only because Michael Schenker developed his sound and guitar playing technic, eventually becoming famous as one of the greatest guitarists in his field, but also because of the addition of Uli Jon Roth into the band, a guitarist who helped shape the sound of "Scorpions" on the following four studio albums and the masterful live album "Tokyo Tapes".  Roth, whose style was greatly influenced by Jimi Hendrix, brought power and strength on the one hand and a mystical and classical aura on the other hand, which became the driving force behind the band, together with Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine. The first album of the new line-up, "Fly To The Rainbow", was released in 1974, when Uli Jon Roth was already part of the band. However, Roth's contribution was limited to writing two songs, only one of them on his own, compared to five songs written by Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine, three of them in collaboration with Michael Schenker, as part of his deal with Scorpions, before he left them in favour of UFO.
This was also the band's first album to feature the band's name written in the now-familiar font, used on nearly all subsequent album covers. The original version of the album cover was censored for clearly showing the cover model's exposed breast hanging down towards the guitar. Later releases blacked out the breast so that it is not visible. This is the first of many Scorpions album covers to have been censored. The White Stratocaster shown on the cover belonged to Roth, and he can be seen playing the same guitar on the cover of the Electric Sun album "Fire Wind". This is the guitar that Roth used on all subsequent Scorpions and Electric Sun albums on which he played.
Scorpions are known for their amazing ability to combine melancholic and sweet ballads with Heavy Metal crunch riffs, and all these started here, in this album. "In Trance" was the first album in which Scorpions designed their unique sound, and it only got better on the next albums. Excellent singing and powerful music make this the best Scorpions recording working with Uli Jon Roth.

The Scorpions' two previous releases, "Blackout" and "Love At First Sting", were mostly successful due to the band's ability to adjust with the times; with "Blackout", they used the classic Power Rock introduced by bands like Van Halen, and for "Love At First Sting" they used similar melodies, but with a harder, tighter sound akin to the work of such bands as Dokken and REO Speedwagon. With "Savage Amusement", the band's first studio recording in almost four years, the Scorpions experimented with more polished Hair Metal melodies that Def Leppard and the like had made popular. The end result is polished and often predictable music that, while good, on the whole fails to be as infectious as the music on their previous albums.
The album peaked at No. 5 in the US and was certified Platinum by the RIAA on June 20, 1988.
It was the last Scorpions record to be produced by Dieter Dierks.

The second full-length studio album by legendary German Hard Rock band.
The band's first release with guitarist Uli Jon Roth and bassist Francis Buchholz, and the only one to include drummer Jürgen Rosenthal.
In support of the "Lonesome Crow" album, Scorpions toured as the opening act for the British Rock band UFO. At the end of the tour, Scorpions lead guitarist Michael Schenker was asked to fill an open position as UFO's guitarist and accepted the position. Schenker's departure temporarily resulted in the breakup of the band, but Rudolf Schenker and Klaus Meine ultimately merged with the band Dawn Road. The new band consisted of guitarist Uli Jon Roth, replacing Michael, as well as drummer Jürgen Rosenthal, keyboardist Achim Kirschnig and bass guitarist Francis Buchholz. The new line-up assumed the Scorpions name and recorded "Fly To The Rainbow". Three songs on the album were co-written with departing guitarist Michael Schenker, as part of his agreement on leaving the band.
This album is very diverse in its sound and song structures, probably due to the new members' influences from Uli's band Dawn Road, and the band looking for material to fill an album as much as musical direction. The album was created as two bands came together: two members from Scorpions, who had recorded "Lonesome Crow", and three members from Dawn Road. To make matters a bit more complicated, the keyboardist, who wasn't actually a full member, also came from Dawn Road, and some songs were co-written by a former Scorpions member, Rudolf's brother Michael. The result is somewhat eclectic, and it is feasible to discern which elements are from the Roth/Dawn Road camp and which ones are from the Scorpions camp (and with or without Michael).
There are elements on this album which Scorpions never tried before or after; such as the Spanish-like chord Progression on "They Need a Million" (Therion would rather copy that on "Melez"; it also became the staple of a song like Amorphis' "Nightfall"; though probably indirectly influenced by Kingston Wall's "Another Piece of Cake"). There are also some major Hippie moments, aside of the lyrics and album cover, such as the tripping section at the beginning of "Far Away", which can't really be found on any other Scorpions album. Overall, this is also the Scorpions' album, with the most acoustic guitars on it. There are no Jazz elements or Psychedelic influences, and the Black Sabbath like guitar tone is gone. Most of this record consists of more drawn out songs with a peaceful texture. One of the important aspects of Scorpions is revealed here too and that is conveying emotion.
The drum production is courtesy of engineer Mack, who is also responsible for the superb live drum sound on Black Sabbath's "Dehumanizer" recorded 18 years after and to the drum sound on Deep Purple's "Stormbringer", recorded just a few months later in the same studio. In retrospect, Jürgen Rosenthal, who plays on this album, was the most promising of all three drummers who played in Scorpions while Roth was there. His style is very energetic, and little things like the cowbell at the end of the "Speedy's Coming" chorus are nice touches. Too bad he was drafted in the army… but his stuff with Eloy is pretty good too. More line-up changes were in store for the band throughout the decade, but it must be noted this was their first collaboration with bassist Francis Bucholtz, one of the members of the band's most successful era.
"Fly To The Rainbow" is a strong sophomore effort from the German lads. The peaceful and tranquil tone of the album accompanied by Meine’s majestic vocals and Roth’s inspiring guitar playing is very satisfying. Even though this is not what about Scorpions are known, this is still an enjoyable record, and they would keep on getting better!

"Blackout" was the Scorpions' first majorly successful album, due to its clever balance of Pop/Rock (the title track), power ballads ("When the Smoke Is Going Down"), and catchy Heavy Metal ("Dynamite", "No One Like You"). Vocalist Klaus Meine had a throat operation prior to the record's release, and surprisingly, his voice sounds more melodic and lively than ever. The rest of the band sounds great as well, and the album is highlighted by the fast-paced performances of guitarists Rudolf Schenker and Matthias Jabs.
After losing his voice during the writing of the album, lead vocalist Klaus Meine had to undergo surgery on his vocal cords, and it was uncertain whether he would be able to record it. Demos of the material were recorded with Don Dokken as vocalist; however none of those recordings are featured on the album. Rudolf Schenker could not choose between his guitar solos on "China White", so the US and European releases differed in this small detail.
A self-portrait of artist Gottfried Helnwein is featured on the cover of the album. Rudolf Schenker portrays this character in the "No One Like You" music video.
The RIAA certified Blackout Gold on June 24, 1982 and Platinum on March 8, 1984.
"Blackout" has arguably been called the Scorpions' best record ever, and that statement is not unjust - it has more energy than anything else they have ever released!

It was the first album of the band to attract attention outside Europe.
The album was a step in the band's shift from Psychedelic music to Hard Rock. For the first time in the band's career, the line-up stayed the same, with Klaus Meine on vocals, Uli Jon Roth on lead guitar, Rudolf Schenker on rhythm guitar, Francis Buchholz on bass, and Rudy Lenners on drums. The nine tracks were laid down with Dieter Dierks producing.
The title is described as being a reference to time as the killer of innocence. The original cover featured a nude prepubescent ten-year-old girl with a shattered glass effect obscuring her genitalia, which stirred controversy in the UK, U.S. and elsewhere. As a result, the album was re-issued with a different cover in some countries.
The band is in top form and churns out some melodic yet blistering Heavy Rock. "Virgin Killer" is full of heavy songs and exceptionally fast, innovative guitar leads by Uli Jon Roth. These songs are infectious and Uli's guitar solo on the Jimi Hendrix inspired "Polar Nights" exhibits the thunder-heavy riffs and grooves that make it a classic.
"Virgin Killer" is a milestone. In every sense of the word, it wows the listener with a fresh, rocking sound and an all around tighter musical base. It lacks the Psychedelic noodling that we loved on "In Trance", but the songs are catchier, more polished and Klaus Meine’s vocals are the best they’d ever get in the 70s. His light, attitude-filled crooning sails deftly over the crisp guitar riffs and energetic drumming. This whole album is just really tailored to perfection all around. The songs are short and manageable.
The Hendrix comparisons are endless, "Virgin Killer" is simply essential listening. Truly one of the revolutionary, early Heavy Metal albums; a landmark album for the genre's development that made Uli Jon Roth a guitar legend.

The eleventh full-length studio album by legendary German Hard’n’Heavy band.
The band's first album in a decade and a half to not be produced by Dieter Dierks and is widely considered to be the last "classic" Scorpions album. It was the last studio album to feature the "Lovedrive" - era lineup, with bassist Francis Buchholz leaving the band in January 1992.
After the release of "Savage Amusement" in 1988, the Scorpions expressed disdain toward the album, feeling that it was too polished when compared to their other work. Their longtime producer, Dieter Dierks, was replaced with well-known Rock producer Keith Olsen, who would produce "Crazy World" and assist in making it one of the Scorpions' greatest recordings. Their music had certainly changed since "Savage Amusement", sounding a little bit heavier and less glamorous. But even with the Metal sound, the songs remain melodic and catchy. The power ballads on the album, "Wind of Change" and "Send Me an Angel", are arguably two of the band's greatest slow numbers, boasting soothing harmony and lyrics. 
"Crazy World" peaked at number 21 on Billboard 200 Chart in 1991. The song "Wind of Change" reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1991, and "Send Me an Angel" reached number 44 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. In the UK, it remains the only Scorpions album to attain Silver certification (60,000 units sold) by the British Phonographic Industry, achieving this in November 1991. In the United States, it is the band's second best-selling album to 1984's "Love At First Sting", and their last one to be certified at least Gold by the RIAA.
"Crazy World" remains the Scorpions' finest '90s album and is sure to please its listeners!

The fourth re-release of the fifth full-length studio album by legendary German Hard’n’Heavy band.
"Taken By Force" was the last studio album with Uli Jon Roth and the first with the new drummer Herman Rarebell. The newcomer immediately introduced himself as a songwriter and contributed the lyrics to "He's A Woman - She's A Man". Roth left the band in 1978 following the end of the album's tour, and was at first replaced by Michael Schenker and later by Matthias Jabs.
"Taken By Force" features a number of songs that have since become classics. "Steamrock Fever" is one of those, a typical live smash that was an absolute crowd-pleaser for many years. Then we have "I've Got To Be Free", written by Uli Jon Roth; a high energy and Hard Rocking piece with great riffs and some guitar wizardry that once again demonstrates Roth's exceptional class. Ultra-heavy riffs and a catchy chorus, on the other hand, are the trademarks of the aforementioned "He's A Woman - She's A Man". A calibre all its own is the masterpiece "The Sails Of Charon", another song by Uli Jon Roth. The most unusual, and often criminally underrated track on the album, however, is "Your Light." A Funky bass introduces the track and the song grooves almost like a Motown production. "Your Light" is the perfect counterpart and balance to the more sombre and oppressive "The Sails Of Charon" or "The Riot Of Your Time". The ballad "Born To Touch Your Feelings" represents the romantic side of the Scorpions that has established them over the years as the 'Masters of Ballads'. The song is of the same class as the later monster hits "Still Loving You" or "Holiday". The lyrics to "We'll Burn the Sky" were initially a poem written by Monika Dannemann, the last girlfriend of Jimi Hendrix, as a tribute to him after he died.
Like at the previous two albums, the album cover photography was taken by Michael von Gimbut. And like their previous two albums, "Taken By Force" caused controversy with its cover art, which again resulted in the artwork being replaced in most markets with an alternative cover using photographs of the band members. This release contains original cover art of the album. In the same time, alternative cover art placed on innersleeve of the disc.
Although the musical differences between Uli Jon Roth and the other band members had already become apparent during the recording sessions, "Taken By Force" has become a fascinating album that does not have the slightest weak spot. It is the exquisite culmination of the era with Uli Jon Roth and at the same time a work that should have a significant impact on the future development of Heavy Metal.

Being the band’s first album to be released by Harvest/EMI, following the band's departure from RCA label, “Lovedrive” was a major evolution of the band's sound, which exhibited their classic style that would be later developed over their next few albums.
Prior to "Lovedrive" recording, the Scorpions' line-up had a major change when their lead guitarist, Uli Jon Roth, quit the band. Michael Schenker, younger brother of rhythm guitarist Rudolf Schenker, performed lead guitar on 3 songs. This was also the first album to feature Matthias Jabs on lead guitar, and by extent, first to feature the band's "classic" line-up. With this in mind, the band not only highlighted the album with the licks and riffs of three guitarists (Rudolf Schenker, Michael Schenker, Matthias Jabs), but they also dramatically changed their style to sound more like that of Van Halen. This change is quite welcome; not only are the performances more unpredictable, but the lyrics and melodies are better written. In fact, some of the Scorpions' best songs, such as "Loving You Sunday Morning", "Holiday" and "Coast to Coast" are found here, making it one of their finest!

The Scorpions' two previous releases, "Blackout" and "Love At First Sting", were mostly successful due to the band's ability to adjust with the times; with "Blackout", they used the classic Power Rock introduced by bands like Van Halen, and for "Love At First Sting" they used similar melodies, but with a harder, tighter sound akin to the work of such bands as Dokken and REO Speedwagon. With "Savage Amusement", the band's first studio recording in almost four years, the Scorpions experimented with more polished Hair Metal melodies that Def Leppard and the like had made popular. The end result is polished and often predictable music that, while good, on the whole fails to be as infectious as the music on their previous albums.
The album peaked at No. 5 in the US and was certified Platinum by the RIAA on June 20, 1988.
It was the last Scorpions record to be produced by Dieter Dierks.

"Tokyo Tapes" was recorded at Nakano Sun Plaza (Tokyo's Nakano Ward, Japan) on 24 and 27 April, during the band's Japanese tour in 1978, and includes songs from all Scorpions' albums which were released before 1978. These shows were guitarist Uli Jon Roth's last performances with the band, who had announced his departure after the release of the "Taken By Force" album in December 1977.
The live album was originally released on 15 August 1978 in Japan only, with a cover artwork of an embossed platinum scorpion set on a rose, as opposed to a live shot of the band when it was eventually released in Europe in December 1978. It was released in the US in January 1979.
During these two shows (which share the same set list), the songs "Hell-Cat", "Catch Your Train" and the Japanese national anthem "Kimi ga yo" were also performed but were not included in the official album. In 2015, as part of Scorpions' 50th Anniversary, "Tokyo Tapes" was remastered and re-released as a double CD, with all omitted songs restored and including alternate version of several songs, originally found on the album.
This recording showcases the spectacular playing of guitarist Uli Jon Roth, who would soon leave the band for a misguided solo career, but displays some jaw-dropping technique here, most notably on the epic "We'll Burn the Sky." The rest of the band also puts in competent performances on such early standards as "In Trance", "Fly to the Rainbow", and "Speedy's Coming".

A tentative title for the album was "Humanity: Hour II", however this was eventually scrapped.
What makes this album so good? The simple fact that every single song on this album Rocks!
In an interview, Rudolf Schenker explained that their goal was to update their sound to the sound of their classic period in the 1980s. He explained: "If you take the best song elements from the '80s albums, and put these on one album, you come up with the “Sting In The Tail” album. So in this case we tried to re-invent the Scorpions sound from the '80s, using the same DNA after putting in a modern twist, to make it sound like today's music".
The album has a duet featuring the Finnish Symphonic Metal singer Tarja Turunen, in the song "The Good Die Young".
First week sales in the United States were 18.500 copies sold, placing it at No. 23 on the Billboard 200. In Germany, the album debuted at No. 2, in France at No. 16 and in Greece at No. 1.  The album also peaked at Number 2 on the Billboard Rock Charts.

The album peaked at #17 in worldwide charts, and #4 in Germany. It got Platinum after selling 1.5 Million copies worldwide.

The first re-release of the fourth live album by legendary German Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band.
The first acoustic live album and another non-Metal passion project from Germany’s original Heavy Metal band, "Acoustica" composed of a number of ‘unplugged’ performances from one of their early tours from this millennium (there’s also a DVD and VHS of the same title that’s a bit longer). 
"Acoustica" was recorded during three concerts held in February 2001 at the Convento do Beato in Lisbon, Portugal. It was a most unusual set for the band, as Klaus Meine comments on the DVD. The band was supported by female backing vocalists, a percussionist, an extra guitarist, and Christian Kolonovits on keyboards. Kolonovits also collaborated on rearranging the songs for the acoustic set. He had previously worked with the band as a conductor and arranger on the "Moment Of Glory" album.
Like the orchestral album "Moment Of Glory", the majority of tracks rendered acoustically here are the band’s ballads. And once again, it’s no surprise, as these are the tracks most easily adaptable to the ‘unplugged’ sound. However, unlike the aforementioned attempt at diversity, here the Scorpions are a bit more ambitious and varied. Scorpions performed four new songs: "Life Is Too Short", "Back to You", "I Wanted to Cry" and "When Love Kills Love", the last of which was released as a Single. All the new songs were featured on the VHS, while "Back to You" and five other previously recorded songs were omitted from the CD.
"Acoustica" also contains cover versions of The Cars' "Drive", Kansas' "Dust in the Wind", and the Queen hit "Love of My Life".
The album attained Gold status in Brazil, and the DVD attained Platinum status. In Portugal, the album went straight to No.1, selling 50 000 copies.

The third re-release of the fifth full-length studio album by legendary German Hard’n’Heavy band.
"Taken By Force" was the last studio album with Uli Jon Roth and the first with the new drummer Herman Rarebell. The newcomer immediately introduced himself as a songwriter and contributed the lyrics to "He's A Woman - She's A Man". Roth left the band in 1978 following the end of the album's tour, and was at first replaced by Michael Schenker and later by Matthias Jabs.
"Taken By Force" features a number of songs that have since become classics. "Steamrock Fever" is one of those, a typical live smash that was an absolute crowd-pleaser for many years. Then we have "I've Got To Be Free", written by Uli Jon Roth; a high energy and Hard Rocking piece with great riffs and some guitar wizardry that once again demonstrates Roth's exceptional class. Ultra-heavy riffs and a catchy chorus, on the other hand, are the trademarks of the aforementioned "He's A Woman - She's A Man". A calibre all its own is the masterpiece "The Sails Of Charon", another song by Uli Jon Roth. The most unusual, and often criminally underrated track on the album, however, is "Your Light." A Funky bass introduces the track and the song grooves almost like a Motown production. "Your Light" is the perfect counterpart and balance to the more sombre and oppressive "The Sails Of Charon" or "The Riot Of Your Time". The ballad "Born To Touch Your Feelings" represents the romantic side of the Scorpions that has established them over the years as the 'Masters of Ballads'. The song is of the same class as the later monster hits "Still Loving You" or "Holiday". The lyrics to "We'll Burn the Sky" were initially a poem written by Monika Dannemann, the last girlfriend of Jimi Hendrix, as a tribute to him after he died.
Like at the previous two albums, the album cover photography was taken by Michael von Gimbut. And like their previous two albums, "Taken By Force" caused controversy with its cover art, which again resulted in the artwork being replaced in most markets with an alternative cover using photographs of the band members. This release contains original cover art of the album. In the same time, alternative cover art placed on innersleeve of the disc.
Although the musical differences between Uli Jon Roth and the other band members had already become apparent during the recording sessions, "Taken By Force" has become a fascinating album that does not have the slightest weak spot. It is the exquisite culmination of the era with Uli Jon Roth and at the same time a work that should have a significant impact on the future development of Heavy Metal.
Remastered 2015, 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition includes 180 g vinyl + CD with the original album and 5 previously unreleased tracks.
