Originally issued in 1988, the hard-edged album slowly worked its way up the charts and became the band's first Gold-certified release (an opening slot on Def Leppard's sold-out "Hysteria" tour certainly didn't hurt, either).
The story-line of this concept album-Rock opera centers on a drug addict who falls in love with a former prostitute turned nun. Together, they uncover a dangerous underground movement and try to stop it before it's too late.
In January 1989 album ranked #34 on Kerrang! magazine's "100 Greatest Heavy Metal Albums Of All Time". In the United States, the album was certified Gold a year after its release and was certified Platinum in 1991. The song “I Don't Believe in Love” from the album was nominated for a Grammy Award in 1990 under the "Best Metal Performance, Vocal or Instrumental" category. The Metallica classic "One" won the category.

While many fans were clamoring for a conceptual sequel, the band offers a song-oriented approach that is more Art Rock and less Metal (though "Empire" does Rock Hard in places).
Far removed from the fantasy and techno-paranoiac themes of "Operation: Mindcrime", the lyrics tackle social and physical handicaps ("Best I Can") and issues such as poverty and regret ("Della Brown"). Remastered re-release of the debut EP by legendary American Progressive/Heavy Metal band.
Originally recorded in June 1982 as a demo tape, this release came out in 1982 on Queensrÿche's vanity label 206 Records. It was re-issued in 1983 after the band signed to EMI Records. EP garnered international praise, receiving much airplay and selling an unusual number of copies for a small independent release. To support the EP, the band toured with Quiet Riot through the south and with Twisted Sister to the East Coast and Canada, and played in Seattle opening for Dio. After the tour had ended in November 1983, the band began preparations for their first studio album, "The Warning".
A CD version of the EP was released in 1988. The 1988 reissue by EMI saw the addition of a bonus track, "Prophecy", which was recorded during the "Rage For Order" sessions in 1985–86. This song was performed live by the band circa 1983, and was included on the 1984 "Live In Tokyo" home video.
On the 2003 remastered edition, tracks 5–14 were live recordings of Queensrÿche's second performance in the tour supporting "The Warning", held August 5, 1984 at the Nihon Seinen-kan in Tokyo, Japan. The performance was previously released on VHS in 1984 as "Live In Tokyo".
In 2005, “Queensrÿche” EP was ranked number 336 in Rock Hard Magazine's book of “The 500 Greatest Rock & Metal Albums of All Time”.

"The Warning" proved to be a holding pattern for Seattle's Queensrÿche, offering quality classic Metal with lyrics tending to the mystical and occult. The band wrote the material for "The Warning" during their tour in support of the "Queensrÿche" EP, inspired by world events and the 1949 George Orwell novel "Nineteen Eighty-Four". Elements of Judas Priest, Rush and Iron Maiden are evident in the music, but the band takes inspirations like these and make them, not the base of the music, but add these influences as extra spice in their own style.
The album was recorded in various recording studios in London with Pink Floyd-producer James Guthrie. "The Warning" featured more Progressive elements than the EP. It was a moderate commercial success in the United States, although none of the singles charted domestically. However, "Take Hold of the Flame" was an international hit, particularly in Japan.
In support of the release, Queensrÿche went on a worldwide tour from August 1984 through to July 1985. During the American leg of their tour, they were the opening act for Kiss on their 1984–85 Animalize Tour and Iron Maiden on their 1984–85 World Slavery Tour.
“The Warning” began Queensryche's road to Rock royalty. With its Orwellian themed lyrical content, stunning vocals and sheer musicianship, this conceptual Prog-Metal album helped launch their long tenure in the Rock charts. Thanks in part to amazing tracks like "No Sanctuary" and "The Warning" this album has truly been a fan favorite for years. Intensity, melody and tantalizing guitar work keep the heart of this release pounding after all these years. It will appeal to nearly all lovers of challenging music and if you haven't heard "The Warning" yet, you must check out this Metal milestone!!

Rabid Dogs have always been overlooked. The thing about this band is that they’re mixing things up, spicing up the style of Grindcore with many elements. Musically, it’s comparable to Contrastic, Disharmonic Orchestra and Abortion – a mix of all of that actually. It’s refreshingly innovative, thick and heavy, and has that Grindcore spunk to keep the proceedings lively. 
The third record of Rabid Dogs includes five fast, adrenaline Grindcore songs plus intro. Band do their way, using their unique sound to somewhat revolutionize the genre or at least try and reinvent the wheel. The Grind’n’Roll element is not new – it was most remarkably was done by Mucupurulent but that band didn’t have the unpredictability of Rabid Dogs and their mood-inducing and mood-altering nature. Rabid Dogs keep it interesting without being repetitive.
There is something about this EP that makes you keep coming back to it for more. It’s thoroughly intriguing and addictive. Albums like these don’t come out very often and as should be the case always, originality should be supported in all forms. Fast & furious Grind'n'Roll with Hardcore and Stoner elements inspired by 70's pulp themes!

The Progressive Metal genre is known for having longer compositions, odd time signatures, and whatever unique aspect the musicians think will fit well with their music. Radiance is no different. “Undying Diabolyca” has longer songs, neat little time changes, and a female vocalist with a most unique voice. Karin’s voice is vastly different than the average female vocalist and her style meshes perfectly with this type of music. She often goes from a very vast operatic style of vocal work to a lower normal range. The higher vocals sound a little bit like Simone Simmons’ (Epica). Radiance’s singer uses her voice in odd ways, almost like an instrument. It is difficult to describe what it sounds like with words, but if you sample any track off of “Undying Diabolyca” you’ll understand it. This different style of vocals helps Radiance stand apart from other bands with a female vocalist.
Just listening to a few tracks off this record you can easily tell that the guitarist is majorly influenced by Dave Murray and Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden). Many of the harmonies sound like something you might find on a Maiden album. The solo work is also influenced by Dave Murray and you can hear the similarities in Federica’s tone. She uses that same warm tone Dave has and it sounds very nice. While the guitar playing is heavily influenced by Iron Maiden she does, however, add her own flavor to the mix. A lot of the riffs are heavily palm muted and done at odd syncopations creating an odd but good sound.
The bass sound is really groovy and is very audible on this record. At some sections it sounds very eerie, and that accompanied with those strange vocals makes for a haunting sound.
On some records you can tell whether or not the drummer really enjoys what he does. It’s easy to tell which percussionists really take pride in what they do and the drummer from this band thoroughly enjoys what he does. The drums have lots of character on this record and it’s nice to hear the entire set being used. The drums hold a very solid presence on “Undying Diabolyca” which is exactly what they should do.
Radiance is definitely a different band crafting different music. Every member possesses a rather large amount of talent. The only thing that might hold back a listener would be the vocals because they sound so different and strange, but try found them and this whole album entertaining. Every song stood out.

The third EP by legendary British Alternative Rock/Post-Punk band.
Most of the songs on "My Iron Lung" recorded at RAK Studios, London, during the sessions for a second album, "The Bends" (1995). EP contains songs not included on "The Bends", plus a new version of "My Iron Lung", which was also released as a Single. Radiohead were not satisfied of "My Iron Lung" sound, and used a performance, recorded in May 1994 at the London Astoria, with Yorke's vocals replaced and the audience removed. Band also used on EP an acoustic version of "Creep", taken from a live performance on KROQ-FM on July 13, 1993.
EP certified Gold by British Phonographic Industry.

The first and the second full-length studio albums, at one set, by legendary Italian Disco duo.
The history of Radiorama could be separated into two different stories: the first, between 1985 and 1987, and the second, between 1988 - 1990. That is to say, when Italo Disco and Eurobeat records succeed all around on European dance floors. Founder of this project was Aldo Martinelli on Mauro Farina request. With his collaborator Simona Zanini wrote first single "Chance To Desire". But due to the fact, that he was involved in the production of many other projects, his name wasn't to be listed on the cover. Mauro Farina did otherwise. Because of this, Martinelli withdraw from the further composing. Mauro Farina then longer continued to work on next songs.
The Radiorama productions were sung by Mauro Farina (lead vocal) and Clara Moroni (female voice of the group), except the first single, where Marco Bresciani was male vocal, and Simona Zanini as female vocal. Radiorama songs were composed, conducted and arranged by Mauro Farina and Giuliano Crivellente (who also did the executive production). The "background" producers of these records were, mostly, Paolo Gemma and Marco Bresciani. Since 1989 - 1990, there have been released some new records signed by Radiorama, but these are Eurobeat tracks.
There was a great comeback in 1993. Single "Aliens 2" sung by M. Farina, again became a big hit. Next tracks belonged to Euro House style didn't contribute to the great success. Official vocalist in the 90s was Angelo Morales, but in fact he was only a dancer, and male vocal still belonged to M. Farina.
This 2CD set contains two of the most unusual Pop albums of the second half of the eighties.
