Originally released in 1980 by Metronome in Germany and Victor Records in Japan (as "Arabesque III"), an album was a little unusual one in the sense of the music itself. All in all, Disco was four of five years old and had become a little unfashionable to the general public. So, now we can call "Marigot Bay" as "an album where Euro Disco was born" - the dance rhythms and the singer's natural charms were reinforced with things unusual for the pure American Disco style, specifically the Rock'n'Roll guitar and vocal stylings.
Deluxe Edition on 180g audiophile vinyl in metallic cover has a new mastering from analogue resources and features 8-page booklet with lyrics and rare photos.

The only album which doesn't feature the band's 'classic' line-up. Michaela Rose is the only classic member here. She would be joined by Jasmin Vetter and Sandra Lauer (later Cretu) for Arabesque Mk. II.
Arabesque was founded by Schlager Music singer Mary Ann Nagel and producer Wolfgang Mewes. Karen Ann Tepperis and Michaela Rose completed the trio.
The album begins with the song “Hello Mr. Monkey”, which was released as a Single in 1977 in Germany only, and in 1978 worldwide. The song became a huge hit in Japan, reaching number 9 on the charts.
"Friday Night" was among the first songs credited to Jean Frankfurter and John Moering, which would go on to write all of Arabesque's future material, and was released as a second Single in 1978. It was also the first song to feature the newest member - 19-year-old Heike Rimbeau on lead vocals, which replaced the founder Mary Ann Nagel. Michaela and Karen provide backing vocals.
In Germany the album was released in 1979.

Frankfurt trio's album is commonly known as "that song album" in all former USSR states. The album's selection is a bit more straightforward than their third album, "Marigot Bay", - most tracks are very danceable with a tempo around the classic 120 BPM.
The most popular song from the album, "Midnight Dancer", wasn't released as a Single in West Germany or Japan. Still, it became not only a central Arabesque song in the '80s, but is still one of the most recognizable Euro Disco symbols!
