The second full-length studio album by legendary British Pop Rock/Beat band.
The album was released in the United Kingdom on 22 November 1963 on Parlophone, eight months after the band's debut "Please Please Me".
Produced by George Martin, it features eight original compositions (seven by Lennon–McCartney and "Don't Bother Me", George Harrison's first recorded solo composition and his first released on a Beatles album) and six covers (mostly of Rock and Roll and Motown R&B hits).
The sessions also yielded the non-album single, "I Want to Hold Your Hand" backed by "This Boy".
The cover photograph was taken by the fashion photographer Robert Freeman and has since been mimicked by several music groups. A different cover was used for the Australian release of the album, which the Beatles were displeased with.
In the United States, the album's tracks were unevenly split over the band's first two albums released on Capitol Records, "Meet The Beatles!" and "The Beatles' Second Album". It was also released in Canada under the name "Beatlemania! With the Beatles".
The album was ranked number 420 on Rolling Stone Magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" in 2003, and was included in Robert Dimery's "1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die" (2010). It was also voted number 275 in the third edition of English writer Colin Larkin's "All Time Top 1000 Albums" (2000). It was rated the 29th greatest album in the book Paul Gambaccini "Presents the Top 100 Albums", which canvassed a panel of experts in seven countries" to determine the greatest albums.
This stereo remastered album has been prepared using the 2009 digital remasters, which had been created from the original stereo analogue master tapes. Heavyweight 180g vinyl.

For that reason, the band's second effort isn't as consistently stunning as their debut, though overall it's a very successful continuation of the themes of their classic album. Besides the hit "Strange Days", highlights included the funky "Moonlight Drive", the eerie "You're Lost Little Girl", and the jerkily rhythmic "Love Me Two Times", which gave the band a small chart single. "My Eyes Have Seen You" and "I Can't See Your Face in My Mind" are minor but pleasing entries in the band's repertoire that share a subdued Eastern Psychedelic air. The 11-minute "When the Music's Over" would often be featured as a live showstopper, yet it also illustrated their tendency to occasionally slip into drawn-out bombast.

Recorded in 1966 at Sunset Sound Recorders, Hollywood, California, it was produced by Paul A. Rothchild and released on January 4, 1967. The album features their breakthrough single "Light My Fire" and the lengthy song "The End" with its Oedipal spoken word section.
The Doors was central to the progression of Psychedelic Rock, and has been critically acclaimed. 
The original album has sold 20,000,000 copies, and has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. Song "Light My Fire" was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. It has since been frequently ranked by critics as one of the greatest albums of all time; according to Acclaimed Music, it is the 27th most ranked record on all-time lists.

The album was the first commercial breakthrough for the band in the UK, reaching number 16 on the UK Albums Chart. After the release of "Waiting For The Sun", The Doors commanded substantial performance fees and played before large crowds in arenas such as the L.A. Forum, the Hollywood Bowl, and Madison Square Garden.
Most of the next album was recorded following a gruelling tour, during which the band was left with little time to compose new material. Record producer Paul A. Rothchild recommended a total departure from the Doors' first three albums: develop a fuller sound by incorporating brass and string arrangements provided by Paul Harris. Lead singer Jim Morrison, who was dealing with personal issues and focusing more on his poetry, was less involved in the songwriting process, allowing guitarist Robby Krieger to increase his own creative output. Upon release, "The Soft Parade" was denounced by both music critics and the band's Underground music scene followers, who viewed the album as The Doors' trending into Pop music. Over time, historians have reassessed the album and its critical standing has slightly improved, but it is still widely considered to be the group's weakest effort with Morrison.
Three preceding Singles, "Touch Me", "Wishful Sinful", and "Tell All the People", were included on "The Soft Parade", with the former becoming another Top 10 hit for The Doors. Another single, "Runnin' Blue", also followed the album's release.
The album peaked at number six on the Billboard 200, but it failed to retain audiences in the UK and other European countries that their previous album, "Waiting For The Sun", had succeeded in engaging.

The debut full-length studio album by legendary British Blues Rock/Hard Rock band.
It's the second studio album by English guitarist Jeff Beck, which was released in June 1969 by Epic Records in the United States and the following August by Columbia Records in the United Kingdom.
Jack Beck and his band released their first album, "Truth", during 1968 and by the end of the year drummer Micky Waller was replaced by Tony Newman, as Beck wanted to take the music in a heavier direction, and he viewed Waller as more of a finesse drummer in the style of Motown. Pianist Nicky Hopkins, who had also played on "Truth", was asked to join the band full-time for his work in the studio.
Recording sessions for the "Back-Ola" took place over six days in April 1969. Two covers of Elvis Presley tunes were chosen, "All Shook Up" and "Jailhouse Rock", as well as "Girl From Mill Valley", an instrumental by and prominently featuring Hopkins. The remaining four tracks consist of band originals, with the instrumental "Rice Pudding" ending the album dramatically cold.
Following the sessions for this album, the Jeff Beck Group toured the United States. They were scheduled to play Woodstock and are listed on posters promoting the festival, but by then internal friction had reached the breaking point and both Ronnie Wood and Rod Stewart were out of the band. Stewart and Wood would form the Faces with members of the Small Faces in 1969, while Hopkins played Woodstock with Jefferson Airplane, joined Quicksilver Messenger Service, and toured the world with the Rolling Stones in 1971, 1972 and 1973. Beck himself would be out of action by December due to an automobile accident.
The album peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard 200, and at No. 39 on the UK Albums Chart. The album's title puns on the name of the Rock-Ola jukebox company.
Although a short album at half an hour, it is regarded, along with its predecessor, as a seminal work of Heavy Metal due to its use of Blues toward a Hard Rock approach and the squaring off of Beck's guitar against Stewart's vocals, duplicated the same year by Beck's good friend Jimmy Page with his singer Robert Plant in Led Zeppelin.

The second full-length studio album by legendary British Dark Wave/Gothic Rock band.
While the goth scene in England was picking up commercial steam in the mid-'80s, the Sisters Of Mercy may have seemed quiet, but they roared back with 1987's "Floodland". Andrew Eldritch (along with bassist Patricia Morrison) creates a black soundscape that is majestic and vast. While the earlier Sisters releases were noisy, sometimes harsh affairs, "Floodland" is filled with lush production (thanks to Meat Loaf writer/producer Jim Steinman and the New York Choral Society) and lyric imagery that is both scary and glorious. The slower tracks, like "Flood" and "1959", are some of the best ethereal sounds Goth has to offer, and the downright regal "This Corrosion" is one of the best songs of the genre. Being close to an Andrew Eldritch solo album, "Floodland"’s ultimate place in The Sisters Of Mercy’s discography may be unclear to some. The album considered by many to be a step sideways in the band’s musical direction, but it’s definitely a nice wandering off the beaten path of Dr. Avalanche.
"Floodland" and its singles had a positive commercial performance. The album debuted in the United Kingdom at number 9. Its pre-orders assured it Silver certification status from the BPI on the day of its release. The three singles released to support the album were "This Corrosion", "Dominion", and "Lucretia My Reflection". In the UK, "This Corrosion" peaked at number 7, "Dominion" peaked at number 13, and "Lucretia My Reflection" peaked at number 20. In Germany, "Floodland" entered the top 100 albums chart on 14 December 1987, staying there for twenty weeks and reaching number 32. In 1988, the album was certified Gold by the BPI for selling 100,000 copies in the UK. The album also peaked within the top 40 in other European countries. It reached number 101 in the Billboard 200 on 12 March 1988. In 1993 "Floodland" went Gold, with 250,000 sold units.

The first re-release of the debut EP by legendary Swedish Death Metal band.
With their debut album, "Of Darkness…" (1991), Therion delivered a true milestone in Swedish Death Metal. Before that, they released the "Time Shall Tell" demo in 1989 and got a re-release as a 12" EP by House Of Kicks a year after. Now, 32 years later, Hammerheart Records gets it a much-deserved reissue.
Much deserved, as this has been hailed as being one of the pinnacles of the infamous early Swedish Death Metal scene. And not unjustified at all. These four tracks all have memorable hooks, catchy song structures and unparalleled dynamics. Maybe most ear-catching though are the strong vocals. Rather straightforward yet performed with such a fanatical power that they became half of the trademark of the early Therion-sound. The other half is the sound. Though being one of the earliest recordings by any band in that early Swedish scene and being recorded at the Sunlight Studios by Thomas Skogsberg, it does not have that typical Swedish buzz saw guitar sound yet. Nor has it that same Punk-based Nihilist sound that was basically the blueprint for many other bands that followed, instead Therion had more in common with early American Death Metal bands, which gave them a distinctive identity amongst their peers. With their debut album, "Of Darkness…" (1991), Therion delivered a true milestone in Swedish Death Metal. Before that, they released the "Time Shall Tell" demo in 1989 and got a re-release as a 12" EP by House Of Kicks a year after. Now, 32 years later, Hammerheart Records gets it a much-deserved reissue.
Much deserved, as this has been hailed as being one of the pinnacles of the infamous early Swedish Death Metal scene. And not unjustified at all. These four tracks all have memorable hooks, catchy song structures and unparalleled dynamics. Maybe most ear-catching though are the strong vocals. Rather straightforward yet performed with such a fanatical power that they became half of the trademark of the early Therion-sound. The other half is the sound. Though being one of the earliest recordings by any band in that early Swedish scene and being recorded at the Sunlight Studios by Thomas Skogsberg, it does not have that typical Swedish buzz saw guitar sound yet. Nor has it that same Punk-based Nihilist sound that was basically the blueprint for many other bands that followed, instead Therion had more in common with early American Death Metal bands, which gave them a distinctive identity amongst their peers. The secondre-release of the third full-length studio album by legendary Swedish Atmospheric Death/Doom Metal band.
"Clouds" was another major step in the quick sonic evolution of Tiamat, as the band continued to scale back their Death Metal roots while pursuing more conventional song structures. The album is still predominately fixated in the Death/Doom Metal genre.
Instrumentally, “Clouds” combine delicate acoustic guitars with crushing riffs and atmospheric keyboards. Johan Edlund's voice mixes death growls with a clean, Gothic moaning-type voice. Songwriting contributions from new bassist Johnny Hagel take some of the load off vocalist Johan Edlund, whose improving English-speaking skills and raspy but clear intonations finally let listeners appreciate his esoteric lyrics.
Every song on "Clouds" is distinct in its own way, but it doesn't get much better than "In a Dream" and "The Sleeping Beauty", both of which combine delicate acoustic guitars with crushing riffs and atmospheric keyboards. These same elements are mixed and matched in surprising fashion on "Smell of Incense", "The Scapegoat", and "Forever Burning Flames". The epic "Undressed" closes the album with similar inventiveness and points toward the future.
"Clouds" was only the first step for Tiamat into Gothic Metal/Rock. The band is best remembered for the "Clouds" and "Wildhoney" albums, which are more widespread and Psychedelic/Progressive influenced. "Clouds" would be the last album where the Death Metal grasp was strong, and it’s a telling sign of what the band would discover in themselves two years later. For stepping away from pure Death/Black Metal and laying the groundwork for "Wildhoney", "Clouds" is a historically important record that helped to shape the booming Doom Death Metal scene of decade.

The fourth European re-release of the fourth full-length studio album by legendary Swedish Atmospheric Gothic Doom Metal band.
The album was marked a strong change in the style of Tiamat's music, with more Progressive Rock and Psychedelic music and a less Death Metal-oriented style. The music on the album deals with the occult, nature, and LSD. Not even Tiamat's previous achievements and accelerated evolutionary pace could have prepared fans and critics for the unbelievable sounds contained in the groundbreaking "Wildhoney". The album elevated the band's combination of lingering Death Metal roots and Ambient soundscapes to unparalleled heights of invention. Not necessarily a concept album in the lyrical sense, the record still operates as a virtually seamless aural experience, as tracks are often grouped into extended suites.
The album was produced by Waldemar Sorychta and released by Century Media records in 1994. Vocalist Johan Edlund and John Hagel were the only two remaining members of Tiamat. After the release of their 1994 tour mini-album, "The Sleeping Beauty: Live in Israel", Edlund fired all members of Tiamat except for John Hagel. In 1994, Tiamat began working on"Wildhoney" album with session musicians Magnus Sahlgren, Lars Sköld and Waldemar Sorychta, who acted as a keyboardist and producer.
The album was one of the highest-selling records for Century Media on its release. It sold better than the previous bestsellers of the label, Grave and Unleashed.
One of the classics of the genre, “Wildhoney” is an album ahead of its time, and many bands that are commercially successful drank for it until the point of exhaustion. “Wildhoney” represented the end of an age for Tiamat, and a great number of the band’s fans think that it’s their finest moment, because the following releases didn’t present the same strength and Avant-garde courage.  Hear it, buy it, because “Wildhoney” is really a classic in the deeper essence of the word!
