The third full-length studio album by legendary British Alternative Rock band.
The music of "X&Y" consists of multi-layered production with heavy Electronic influences, featuring the extensive use of synthesizers. Musical characteristics, that contribute to the album's multi-layering and grandiosity, include fast tempos (in contrast to the 2 previous albums), dynamic drum patterns, distorted guitar riffs, and driving bass-lines.
The album contains twelve tracks and an additional hidden track, "Til Kingdom Come". It is omitted from the track listing on the album sleeve, but listed as "+" on the disc label and inside the album booklet. It was originally planned for American country star Johnny Cash to record it with lead singer Chris Martin, but Cash died before he was able to do so.
Development of the album was often troubled; the album's original producer, British record producer Ken Nelson, was supposed to produce much of the album, however, many songs written during their sessions were ditched due to the band's dissatisfaction.
The album spawned the Singles "Speed of Sound", "Fix You", "Talk", "The Hardest Part", "What If", and "White Shadows". The album's cover art is a combination of colors and blocks, which is a representation of the Baudot code.
It was a significant commercial success, reaching the top spot of many charts worldwide, including the United Kingdom and United States, being Coldplay's first album to top the US chart. With accumulated sales of 8.3 million units in 2005 alone, "X&Y" was the best-selling music album released in 2005. The album has sold over 13 million copies worldwide.

Debut full-length album by Turkish Progressive Metal band, with Turkish music influences.
The likes of Dream Theater and Fates Warning come to mind when listening to this album, but somehow these songs lack the certain accessibilty of those two bands. The songs have more than a few tempo changes, and you can never be sure what to expect. They may start like ballads, but halfway there they might turn into furious Metal numbers. The whole album might be a bit too hard to digest for the AOR purists, but if you enjoy the Progressive Metal of today, you must to check this band out!!

The debut full-length album by Italian Instrumental Rock/Fusion/Funk/Blues Metal band.
This band is a bit different from other Metal bands. This one is about a Metal-driven (or at least Rock-driven) effort to narrow the gap with other; let's say more "exotic" music genres.
This totally instrumental and above all honest attempt in mild-melding the listener contains elements borrowing from Blues, Rock 'n' Roll, Funk and even Jazz. It's up to you to decide whether you'll be receptive to these fusions or not.
On "Concept Project" this trio certainly had a crack at coloring outside the traditional lines. Or at least they tried to. The conceptual ideas and intentions behind this release are pretty decent.
The thing worth mentioning is the Mozart cover of "Turkish March". The whole thing got transformed into a "Rock March", with a bit of a Trans-Siberian Orchestra feel to it.
Very interesting album in all and it's worth your attention!

The secnd full-length album by Swedish Hard Rock/Glam Metal band.
Confess call themselves just a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band, but principles of terminology aside, "Haunters" sees band's style evolve a bit towards genuine Heavy Metal, from the strong Glam (or "Sleaze" as they call it in Sweden these days) sound of their 2014 debut "Jail".
The album features an intriguing cover art that, in addition to immediately capturing the attention of any fan looking for retro sound, also manages to establish strong identity for the band, set around their alleged anthem, "We Are the Rats". 
"Jail" was not a bad album, but "Haunters" tops it in every aspect imaginable. Not only that some parts of the first half of the album are straight up NWOBHM, that would please way more metalheads than the Mötley Crüe-esque sound of their debut. But also the tracks show much more complexity and content, way better management of tempo and offset of slow versus fast, and hard versus soft segments, and most importantly - the band sounds like they actually have something to say with their music. An original message to convey, a statement to make, rather than just to put out an album and be proud of existing.
John Elliot's voice is brilliant throughout the record, never dropping the ball for a second. The drumming is simple but solid, while still having a few moments here and there to shine on its own. Bass - perfect, guitars - brilliant, production - clean and tight. Every song features a distinct melody, and while the atmosphere is clearly inspired from the 80's.
"Haunters" would be a great addition to any Glam Metal fan's collection, and also a valuable addition for any Heavy Metal fan, who doesn't feel strong hatred or disgust towards Glam influences.

Conquest undoubtedly fully stand in the tradition of the European Power Metal and they successfully are transporting this tradition into the wideness of the Ukraine. Most songs are in the faster regions, but without falling into stupendous straight flailing, but still structuring the songs in a way that they come off anything but boring. The band makes a really tight impression and the voice of frontman Jenick D. Lenkoff is more than good.

The second full-length studio album by British Doom/Death Metal band.
Consecration comes from Norwich, England. Their second full-length, “Fragilium”, stands out as one of the darker, and often times disturbing, Doom releases of the year.  It is an album that deeply embraces its own sound, and it is better for it. Of the five tracks that make up the album, only the opener “In Darkened Slumber” comes in under 10 minutes. The music is not in a hurry to get anywhere; rather, the band draws you into a netherworld where sounds drift like mist along a dark river.
The contrast between peace and disharmony is most clearly made by the vocals. Whenever these growling, guttural noises burst in, alongside slow to mid-tempo riffing and more aggressive percussion, the peaceful spell the band casts is broken. In some ways, this contrast the band plays with is a strength and adds colour to the songs, but while the simplicity of the calmer passages is effective in its soothing qualities.
Altogether it’s a case of an enjoyable, haunting journey, but a feeling that it could be something more.

Re-release of the third full-length album by Progressive Symphonic Power Metal project.

Cocooned in the safety of their biosphere, the planet continued through the centuries frozen in time.
Once again the cleverly constructed story is worked around accessible yet intricate music with a lot of character and expression, not to mention some fine virtuoso musical performances. Fans of Prog Power bands ala Vanden Plas, Kamelot, Conception and Symphony X will find a lot to like in "Terra Incognita" with its rich muscular backbone, fine riffs and attention grabbing Progressions, all coloured with Ian Parry’s vocals – arguably one of the most powerful and distinctive voices in Metal ever!!

The second full-length studio album by Swedish Death Metal band.
Classic Old-School Grinding Death Metal, that leaves no artery untorn, with a guest vocal by Jeff Walker of Carcass!
Grinding Death Metal is not dead yet, and its future is here, in the form of Sweden’s Consumption. They gave us all a nice taste of what was to come on their debut "Recursive Definitions Of Suppuration" that received good reviews worldwide, but no one could have expected what was to come!
Consumption produce crushing Carcass-influenced Grind/Death, and on "Necrotic Lust" have stepped up to make the album Carcass never made after "Necroticism - Descanting The Insalubrious". This project is the brainchild of multi-instrumentalist Håkan Stuvemark, famous for his works with a huge bunch of Extreme Metal bands. And he invited the experienced drummer Jon Skäre to complete his band and go for the next level. And on "Necrotic Lust" they invited Jeff Walker (Carcass) to join in, and Jeff did a killer job on delivering some guest vocals. Consumption’s Grinding Death Metal with eerie melodies sound like Carcass in their 90s prime, yet they also have a distinct, own touch. 
The overall sound of the album is unpolished yet well produced, just like it should be if you deliver high class Death Metal that Grinds a bit as well. The array of vocal techniques and the way passages, differ in speed and intensity, give "Necrotic Lust" the extra finishing touch. There are plenty of twists and turns and things to be pleasantly surprised at, and impressed with the variety of riffs and choices of songwriting here and there. 
This is a fervently Death Metal record, however that doesn’t mean the band are seeking to stick to one variant of style or sound for this record, throughout the full track listing there’s at least one thing going on with each song that gives it just a little more identity and memorability. It’s slight melodic tendencies help to elevate it above the rank and file of rudimentary Death Metal acts into something that’s powerful yet strangely catchy at the same time. This album’s sound, at times, envelops you in a dominating but sometimes warm way. All in all, it’s a record that’s worth your attention and another great offering of Swedish Death Metal!

There was a time when Metal bands infusing their music with Jazz, generally while performing with absurd technicality, was a unique and innovative twist, but now it’s essentially become another sub-genre. From Obscura to Blotted Science to a host of lesser known acts, Proggy Tech-Jazz is gaining prominence in the Metal Underground and landing on the radar of more than just those interested in the most obscure and inaccessible bands around. The Spanish trio of Continuo Renacer marries together technical, bass driven music with a serious dose of Jazz just as well as any band before it, all while offering much more interesting hooks than are usually heard in this style.
Besides doing the technical wankery thing, Continuo Renacer adds a little something extra on “The Great Escape” by gallivanting off with a variety of Avant-garde and Atmospheric flourishes. The opening title track weaves various samples of disconnected phone messages throughout the entire song, using them as a separate instrument to create music instead of just laying them down as an intro or interlude. “For Those Things to Come” takes a stylistic turn by bringing out the spacey and futuristic sounds, while the stuttering and repeating guitar work found on “Facing Fears” has an almost ‘core style breakdown attack.
The music is of course focused on the bass, which is Funky and Jazzy to the max, but the guitar frequently plays an incredibly important role of giving each song its own specific vibe. There are elements of Death Metal brutality, the occasional grandiose Power Metal flair, and even the rhythms of more Traditional Metal bands. Like with other bands in this experimental style, there is a tendency for some ideas and riffs to go on for a bit too long as the musicians work their ways across every note their instruments can offer. Thankfully it doesn’t drag the music down far, as there’s enough unique atmosphere and varying sounds that the album doesn’t come off as soulless technicality with no purpose.
The entirely instrumental “The Great Escape” works the Tech-Jazz-Prog trifecta from all angles and is an excellent addition to an Underground sub-genre working its way to the surface. Fans of Animals As Leaders, Odyssey or Obscura will find a lot to enjoy in these five offbeat tracks!
Another band throws its hat into the Jazzy and Technical Instrumental Metal ring, and it's a winner for fans of the style who like their music more Avant-garde!!

The debut full-length album by Italian Progressive Thrash Metal band.
This Italian band has been active since 1999 and this is their debut album. They play a very decent form of Thrash/Death Metal with strong touches of Progressive stuff and melodic lines.
They sound very professional and also the album has interesting arrangements at guitars department. Also, they have huge influences from different sources and this denotes the eclecticism in composition. Album also appears aggressive/Ambient stuff, like “Arabian Chaos” (which is one of the oldest songs). Also, they take interesting risks like on tempo changes in “Chernobyl”, and the result is good and effective.
As aforementioned, the band sounds good, they definitely have talent and resources!
